The door to the Astronomy classroom is open, but Professor Antares isn't around yet. Not much about the room has changed - there's the large blackboard at the front, and the professor's desk, full of books, the smaller desks for the students, the image projector that Risu uses sometimes in the middle of the room...
While the room looks the same as before, if you glance through the tall windows into the grounds, you can see the old ship out on the lake.
OOC: Class to begin in about 30 minutes. Your characters can chat amongst themselves, but please don't go crazy. ^.^

Helena walked a bit nervously towards the Astronomy classroom, but she was really looking forward to her first... proper Astronomy lesson. But... as she entered, she noticed that the professor-who-disappeared-last-term-and-appeared-this-one was not there. Maybe he vanished again?
Eh, vanished professor or not, Helena sat down at the nearest desk, somewhere in the front, waiting patiently for the lesson to start.
Eino made his way to the astronomy classroom with the same amount of enthusiasm he usually had, none. Big star, little stars, other cosmic things. It was all one big black hole that sucked the life out of him. Sighing, he dragged himself to his usual seat by the window so that he could distract himself with the view by pretending the student on the school grounds were little pogrebins. After taking his seat he took out a few pages of parchment, a bottle of ink, quill, and his textbook. Not that he expected to use them, but he wanted to look busy. Soon enough he was lost in thought, wondering when his fairy eggs would hatch, how he would take care of them when he did, when he would be able to release them, and so on.
Looking unenthusiastic as usual, Aiden enters the classroom. There are only two students who have arrived earlier than her. Hey! There is another Slytherin.
Setting down on an empty seat, she rests her chin on the desk with a her eyes half opened. Astronomy is not her best subject due to her agoraphobia, but Aiden hopes it will go well.

Astronomy. It seemed to be one of the subjects that Kurumi had a hard time wrapping her brain around - which was VERY frustrating. Shuffling her feet, Kurumi made her way towards the front of the room where she set her bag down and began unloading its contents. She had rather enjoyed the star observations they had done last term. Although, that had been in the during the absence of Professor Antares.
Where HAD he gone to? Perhaps the ship sitting out there on the lake was his?

Zara entered the Astronomy classroom. Ohh, the professor wasn't around yet. Wanting to be alone for a while and not have any conversations, she took a seat alone and set her bag down as she stared out the window and looked at the ship where she had her Herbology lesson before. Ahh, it was a dizzy experience.

Kimalia entered into the classroom feeling a little hopeful. She definitely wanted to make a nice impression with the Professor, so chose a seat near the front. While waiting for the Professor to arrive she looked out the windows gazing at the old ship where her previous class had taken place at.
Risu strode in, carrying a stack of heavy-looking books. They were not, to be truthful, needed for this lesson, but he hadn't found any other place to put them in his office, so he'd decided to just store them somewhere in the classroom.
He was pleased to see a few people there already. Astronomy had never been the most popular class (and he chose to think of this because of how arduous it was to get to the Tower, and that it was more of a Muggle-centric subject than others), but as long as some of his students showed up, he'd be able to do his lesson.
"Hello... hello... good afternoon," he said in the direction of several of them, wandering through the row of student desks to the front, where he dropped the books on his own desk with a heavy thud. This raised a small cloud of dust. He turned around. He still looked much older than before his disappearance, but there was a genuine smile on his face. "Welcome, and welcome back, everyone. I think we'll wait another few minutes for any stragglers to arrive, and then we shall begin," he announced. He leaned against the desk. "Does anyone have anything interesting to share?"

And there he was! Mr... vanished-but-not-vanished-anymore.
"Hello, professor," Helena said, grinning, as the man walked inside with some books. She wondered what were those for, but she didn't ask. Uhhh and dust! Helena did NOT like dust.
And then... something interesting to share? Like what? Eh, she didn't say anything. She had nothing interesting to share.
Orabelle walked into the classroom. She reminded herself that the only reson she was even here was because she had enjoyed star gazing at one pont and because the view from the towers was nice. She was not here to actually learn much, was that even possible? To learn in this school that is. She readjusted her bag and looked around. Not many people, Orabelle was not surprised. She understood why peole would totally not attend class.
"Hello professor," Orabelle said politely as a greeting before taking a seat near the middle of the room. If she sat in the front it might actually seem like she was motivated and there was obviously no need to let the professors feel that way. And if she had chosen a seat in the back, Merlin knew that was where the slackers were so how would she get answers? Obviously not there

Ohh, a question. Anything interesting to share? Could that mean anything? As in anythiiiiiing? "Simon exchanged robes with a Ravenclaw named Eino. And for some unknown reason, this caused another Hufflepuff to be in his underpants." That counted right? Well, it WAS anything. She grinned awkwardly and slowly sank back in her seat.

As the professor enter, Aiden almost reluctantly rises her chin to sit properly. She yawns a little. She never fancy afternoon classes.
"Good afternoon, professor,"greeted Aiden politely, but mellow. Her pair of sharp and cold grey eyes are looking straight at the professor as though they are about to pierce.
And there he was! Mr... vanished-but-not-vanished-anymore.

"Hello, Miss Hopkins. Glad you could join us," Risu said, wiping his dusty hands on his robes.

"Hello to you too, Miss Bellamonte," said Risu, as more students filed in, some with rather timid looks on their faces.

Risu stared. "Erm... Interesting to know, thank you for sharing." He shrugged a little awkwardly. "Underpants, you say? Well done," he added awkwardly. "Well, I don't have anything in the way of a comeback to that. Except, perhaps, to add that you do not need to stand in my classroom."

"Good afternoon," he said with a little smile. Then he straightened up. "Alright!" He waved his hand at the door, which swung shut.
"To the new faces: Welcome to Astronomy. To the, er, old hands: Welcome back. A few of you might know me, but for the benefit of those who do not, my name is Risu Antares. I'll do my best to be your teacher. I, er, had to take some involuntary leave last term, and I do apologise for any disruptions this might have caused." He paused. There were certainly a lot of rumours floating around about his absence (and he'd heard some of the more interesting ones relayed to him in the staff room), but he wasn't particularly prepared to go into them.
"Over the last few terms, we have talked a lot about the Universe as a whole," he said. "About its physical origins, about the structure. We discussed the Big Bang model, relativity and quantum mechanics, and other things along those lines. The goal this term is to talk about something that makes the Universe a rather more interesting place entirely." He spread out his arms. "I'm talking, of course, about life. Today's lesson will be an introduction where we will talk about a few concepts we should be aware of when talking about life. On our own planet and on others as well. Potentially.
"Now, before we begin with that, I would like to see a show of hands. Who here thinks that there is life on other planets? And for now, I'd like you to consider all life, from microscopic bacteria to sci-fi civilisations. Hands, please, who does think we're not alone?"

And with that question, Jonathan raised his hand. of course he truly believes that there is a life outside there. It's not like we can prove it or anything but Jonathan doesn't have doubts about other creatures living in other places besides the earth. Muggles call them "aliens". Are they some kind of fascinating creatures to be studied? Most muggles he knew seemed to be a little interested in those stuff.
Chloe chuckled lightly at the first question to start the lesson. It was certainly a rather interesting one, life on other planets. Ofcourse there is of some type most likely. Thus Chloe raised her hand high. She was certainly looking foward to discussion in this lesson.
zenobia walked in through the door after the long stroll up the spiral staircase, yawning and stretching she looked around, apparently not a lot of students like to be early birds she thought to herself, well as long as she was present right? Zenobia loved Astronomy and actually studied this"muggle"subject in her free time at home.
Smiling and waving to there rest of the class as she walked by the professor.Politely as she could and chanted "Good day professor!"
then took her seat next to another first year Slytherin, reaching in her bag and pulling out her quill she was more than ready to begin.

As she was already seated, Zara suppressed a smile. Heheh.
'Oh. Right. No standing. Got that.' Zara thought to herself.
Professor Antares. Nice name.
Not alone.. She remembered that her grandmother had often talked about life outside earth. Plus she's seen some in movies and in story books she often read and watched. Her hand immediately shot up to the air with a wide grin on her face. Wow, she was being a bit too enthusiastic today. Wonder why.

Kurumi's hand shot up, and not in the sort of 'golly gee wouldn't it be nice if there were life on other planets' but in a more confident sort of stance. It seemed, well, selfish to assume that they were the only form of life in the entire universe. After all, the universe was always expanding. If you had asked her three years ago if she thought another world existed, she would have answered no. Yet, here she was, in an entirely different world from the one that she had known - and it had been right under her nose.

Nessie turned to listen as soon as the Proffesor started to talk. She listened to hs question carefuly then raised her hand and said." I think there is other life Proffesor!!" said Ness hoping her theory was right. She smiled at the proffesor then waited to see what he had to say next.
Simon raised his hands, he was sure there were other creatures in Space, he had heard of a very old programme called Star Trek from his Grandad, where there was this ship called the Enterprise and also there was this alien called Spock, he had heard tales about all the different planets they went too.

Helena was just SO happy that professor Antares had finished whatever he had to do last term, and that he came back, AND that she didn't have to clean telescopes again, like last term.
And then he started talking. In some creepy language. Quantum mechanics whaaat? Probably stuff from the last years, before Helena came to Hogwarts. And... life on other planets? Helena's hand shot in the air the moment she heard that. Of course she believed there was life on other planets. Tiny, green aliens. Yup.

Simon listened as Professor Antares started the class. Life on other planets? Hmm interesting thought that almost made him raise his hand like a lot of the class around him. However the seventh year caught himself since the man had said to raise a limb if he believed and that wasn't something he was sure of so he remained still though his attention was still on what was going on around him.
Please let this class not be too long...he mused to himselfnot wanting to miss a snack before next one having been finding himself extra hungry lately.
Eino never thought about other planets, he didn't even know there were other planets. He had never studied astronomy outside of Hogwarts and when he did he rarely paid attention so in contrast he did not raise his name. Not because he didn't think there really wasn't any life out there, he just hadn't the slightest clue about anything in relation to astronomy. The only way in which he studied the stars was as a form of divination, not scientifically, or however else it could be studied.
