Having completed the final portion of their in class assignment, Kurumi closed her Arithmancy textbook and began shuffling her papers around. Her eyes continued to glance at the empty seat next to her.

He hadn't shown up in class...why?

Kurumi felt like she really could only blame herself for the prefect's absence.

With a slight frown returning to her face, Kurumi returned her textbook, parchment, an quill back into her bag and made sure that her desk was as clean as it had been before she had arrived.

"Thank you for the lesson, Professor Hadley," Kurumi said, trying to hide the tone of disappointment. She then turned her back to the classroom and began to make her way out of the classroom.

The flowers in the classroom had distracted her so much that...

What were they doing?

Blinking finally and lifting her head back forward so she wasn't staring at the ceiling anymore, the Slytherin cringed and rubbed her neck, trying to get the cramp to go away. Eh. Looking around, seeing some people write in the notebooks and others packing up their things, Evelyn glanced over at Destiny's parchment to see what in the world they were doing. Oh. Oh, that was it? She could do that.

Pulling her notebook forward, she stared at it for a moment in confusion before shaking her head and started on the other 'numbers'. When the heck did she doodle those pictures?



Huh...

She was going to have many love affairs and be married more than once? Whaaaa?

It didn't really matter because class was oveeerrr! She could figure those letters out later.

And they had to do an ESSAY!? UGH!

Scribbling the homework down in her notebook, she sighed before starting to pack up her things. Slowly. Very slowly. So slowly, that she almost looked like she was tired. Because she was! The windows may be open to let the flower smell out, but she could still smell them!

Tired.

Pulling out a separate piece of parchment, Marilyn began writing again. Perhaps she should just do her lesson like a good girl and stop asking questions people couldn't understand...



Putting the first bit of parchment to the side, she began writing her opinions about the meaning of her letters.



...And that was all she wrote. Marilyn packed up her things and waved to the professor her goodbye.

Before writing down the homework, Helena flipped through the pages of her textbook for the meanings of her first vowel, cornerstone and capstone. Just to be sure.



... how did the textbook know about the curiosity? And the other things?

Creepy.

However, Helena had finally written down the homework, and then packed her stuff and left the room, after she smiled at professor Hadley. "Goodbye."

The homework was...an essay? Meh...that was the kind of work he disliked. Writing, especially writing essays did not go well with him. It was extremely boring. Sighing, he looked around in order to find something to distract himself from the unpleasant essay homework thoughts and hopefully he did not need to spend much time to do so as he so easily found how he could distract himself: A good enough sight of the beautiful she-snake; Evelyn Flores.

Watching her, the Gryffindor realised that she was just done with writing stuff in her parchment which could be nothing but her results of those cornerstone, capstone and stuff. And to be honest he was curious about what she had. So, standing up a bit he tried to peek at her parchment but...hah...why he was bothering anyway? He already knew her name so he could read them from the textbook himself...which he immediately did...

...only to be frozen at where he stood.

Being married MORE THAN ONCE???!!! Being involved in MANY LOVE AFFAIRS???!!!

Frowning at the page, the Gryffindor took a deep breath before turning to Evelyn and staring at her for a moment or so. Then he couldn't help it and ''What's with you and marrying more than once and being involved in MANY love affairs and...'' Merlin! It was not even a love affair. It was many love affairs!!!

Eh?

Packing up the rest of her things with a rather loooooooong sigh, Evelyn leaned back in her seat and stretched her back. Hmmm. Was there time for a quick nap before the next lesson?

Standing up, she slung her bag over her shoulder, and push in her seat before pausing and looking up. What?

...Whaaaa?

Raising a brow, she shrugged her shoulders before fiddling with the strap of her bag. He read what her letters meant? "It's just something written in a book." she muttered, moving around her desk and nearer to him. "Doesn't mean it's true or will be true."

Looking back at his textbook that rested on the desk, Josh frowned a bit at it. Why...why was Arithmancy so determined to ruin his life today? Had he done something wrong? He couldn't remember so. But on the hand he knew usually some things liked to attack him randomly from time to time. Apparently he attracted trouble and...stupid bad stuff like that.

Then he turned back to face Evelyn when she spoke, blinking at her. Well...what she had said did make sense. It was just something written in a book. It did not mean it was certain that it was going to happen. Plus those were possibly some generalised meanings for the letters. But...

...but then he remembered what Hadley had told him. ''What if...'' so he began pausing for a moment to take a quick breath in ''What if it is like what Hadley told me about my Heart's Desire Number. Well...like...it is present in you but you don't know or can't see it...yet?''

Hmmm, was he okay with that? She certainly didn't think anyone should make a big deal about these numbers. Even if she did enjoy calculating them and reading what they said, she didn't really take them so seriously.

Josh did though she supposed, and his reasoning was...she had to suppress the snort. "Josh, there isn't some part of me waiting to burst forward and go tackle the next five guys I see. These numbers aren't our fate. They're just something some bored person who had no life wrote." She did try to keep her voice down low so Hadley wouldn't hear, because she was pretty sure the Professor would disagree whole heartily. She herself kinda did too.

Taking his hand, she started to walk around him so she could move them more towards the door. "Besides, why would you listen to something that says you'll eventually lose me?" Merlin.

The boy's eyes widened some as the she-snake spoke...especially at the part about tackling the next five guys she would see. He would beat them all, there was no doubt about that. Yet, this was not exactly the answer to his question because she was speaking her current mind. ''But i meant...if you are not aware of it, like right now and then some time, all in a sudden....'' He was not going to be able to complete the question though. Because even assuming it was too much for him. He was feeling like he would not be able to stand it anymore so he just left it there, looking to be interested in the other part of her words instead.

''But do you think they would bother to teach it to us as a subject if it's something useless that a random bored man made up?'' Yea, that part, according to him, did not make sense.

But when she took his hand, he almost forgot about everything he suspected as he smiled a bit. However, that question she had asked made the smile vanish as it made him remember the boggart. He never thought he would feel like that in front of any dark creature. Any other dark creature, he would fight with hesitation but that boggart...he couldn't really fight it properly. ''Because...i have found out it is what i fear most.''
