The first potion that came to mind for Ariadne was the Polyjuice Potion, which, as she had read somewhere, required leeches as an ingredient. Raising her hand, the girl replied: 'For a potion as the Polyjuice Potion, leeches are needed. These can be found in water, so there would probably be some in the Black Lake.' Only the thought of that made her shudder, especially at the thought that she'd actually considered going for a swim in the lake.

Rose sat there in silence... She had absolutely no idea! I mean, I'm a first year! I'll just sit here and learn! Rose thought to herself.... Ah, she'll learn something... Rose was surprised a lot of the first years knew the answers! Except Presley, who had been mistaken for a boy! I mean, yeah, Presley could be mistaken as a boy name... But c'mon she has bangs!

Spike raised his hand. Being a boy who liked the outdoors, and spent much time in the woods over the summer, he'd come to recognise lots of plants and had actually put some effort into identifying them. You never knew when something might come in handy.

"There's a whole patch of Dittany not too far from the path leading to the lake, Professor," he answered, his legs kicking the chair underneath him eagerly. He reeeeally wanted to go outside and collect stuff. Much more fun than sitting in a dank classroom in the dungeons, and he had a much better chance of doing in that than following an exact potion recipe. "It's used in healing potions such as the Wiggenweld Potion."

Carr blanched when the professor reprimanded her, but nodded and smiled a little nervously. "I'll remember next time, professor. Sorry," she said. At the question, however, she found herself at a loss. Common potion ingredients? How was she supposed to know that?

She cleared her throat, glancing at the ingredients that had been included in her starter potions set. "Well, beetles can be found all over the grounds," she said. [b]"And their various bits are used potions. She looks through the rest of them, thinking furiously. Armadillo bile? No. No armadillos here... Powdered unicorn horn? Didn't that sixth year say something about unicorns in the Forest? Oh, I have no idea. What the devil is a bezoar? Tubeworms. Safe bet.

"With a bit of digging just after a good rain, tubeworms start surfacing when... their little holes fill up with rainwater."

Eino flinched when the Professor asked him to take a seat in front of class. He jumped down from his seat, walked towards the table and sat on the chair she had gestured to. She seemed... nice not as cold as usual. He listened attentively, feeling slightly uncomfortable since Sierra now had a clear view of him. Not that she would want to look at him him? He lowered his head until the Professor asked a question. "Maybe snake fangs?" He raised his hand and answered. He actually tried to look for snake fangs and he found one snake but wasn't witty enough to, well, outwit a snake and catch it. "Snake fangs can be used for potions like Herbicide Potion and the Boil-Cure Potion." He added before lowering his hand. He always spoke with his hand up he didn't know why.

Errrrrrrrmmm...

A difficult question to begin with wasn't a good sign. Jamie was now worried that he would struggle through his favourite lesson. Thinking carefully about it, the third year thought of something but wasn't totally sure if it was accessible at the grounds. Eh, he would take a stab. He raised his hand, "Isn't there Moly plants on the grounds?" That was certainly used for potion making. He had read about it before and found it quite interesting. "And it's an ingredient for the Wiggenweld Potion, I think."

It was something with a funny name, anyway. Jamie picked up his Quill and jotted down some of the things that other students mentioned.

Aurora's eyes lit up, she was always noticing potion ingredients. "I think Professor Bentley is currently growing Victoria Amazonica which is used in beauty potions and a burn potion." she said. "Though if you use too much of it then it can have terrible side effects like incurable boils and thinned skin." she added, she wouldn't be using any of that on herself.

After listening to some of the answers, an interesting thing occurred to Evan's mind. As far as he could listen, no one had suggested it before, and he doubted anyone would think about it... much. Thus, he raised his hand so say: "Well, there are unicorns in the Forbidden Forest, and we all know their blood can save a dying man..." He shrugged. He wasn't necessarily suggesting to go slay one, but their blood was a potion material as well.

Kurumi's eyes went wide when Professor Lafay BOWED her head in return. She certainly hadn't being expecting that gesture. Kurumi tilted her head back towards her potion's book and pretended like she was reading.
Kurumi looked over at Eino and flashed him a smile. That was very kind of him to have given the Potions Mistress ingredients. However, Kurumi's eyes narrowed a bit as she looked at the box of potions ingredients. She was a little...concerned as to what exactly Eino had given her.

Hearing the question, and several students answering before she could, Kurumi thought and finally raised her hand. "Professor, one could visit the Owlery and take some eagle owl feathers that have fallen from one of the many owls there. These feathers can be used in Dragon Tonic." Yep, ever since Flying and hearing about dragon bladders being used for sport in a broom game, Kurumi had had dragons on the mind and had checked out a few books about them in the library.

Who wouldn't want to cure a sick dragon?

...they were going to gather ingredients?! This was...actually something Sierra had always wanted to. Through working on the Alzheimer's Potion with Treyen, she'd discovered that she really didn't know much about the ingredients themselves. She knew which ones went where, but gathering them...that was something she had yet to do.

So she looked forward and listened intently as her classmates rattled off ingredient after ingredient. She raised her hand to answer with beetle parts, but just as she did so, some Ravenclaw beat her to it. She lowered her nhand and shot the girl a glare. Finally, she raised her hand again. "Flobberworm mucus," she said, "is used to thicken potions. It's an ingredient in the Wiggenweld Potion, too. Flobberworms are found really anywhere on the grounds." Right? She hadn't exactly ever looked for them.

Caroline throught a bit, as the others anwered mostly the answers that she knew or was thinking about. She had a good one, raising her hand. "Belladonna, Professor. I believe there is some in the greenhouses." At least there were some last term, remember seeing them after the clean up assignment last term. "I think Belladonna is found in hair color changing potions." Her sister was always changing her hair color, and always made sure that she had belladonna before making the potion.

Gavina, always wanting to appear the showpiece of politeness, raised her hand before answering. "The Moly plant is found near the Stone Circle, and is used in the Wiggenweld potion." She couldn't help the little smirk that formed on her lips; certainly no one else would think of the Moly plant!

Samira raised her hand. "Professor, many ingredients can be found on the grounds or in the greenhouse. Leeches can be found in the lake, and daisey roots can be found on the grounds." she paused for a moment then continued. "Mandrakes can be found in the greenhouse, and used in Mandrake Draught."

"Perhaps there are asphodel somewhere around the school. Maybe the students garden? It is not an unconventional plant after all," says Aiden calmly.

"William raised his hand. On the grounds you could find the Aconite flower for WolfBane Potion" Wiliam told the professor."WolfBane will lesson the effect of anyone becoming a WereWolf" William said to the professor.

Ariella raised her hand. "Unicorn blood. Since it's strictly forbidden for use by the Ministry of Magic, it probably wouldn't be in our reach. But there are unicorns in the Forbidden Forest, right?" She hoped that was right. "Also, most spices and herbs used for potions we have in our greenhouses and kitchen--such as ginger, butterscotch, and salt."

Oakey raised his hand then spoke. Ma'am, I'm sure there are plenty of rats for their tails and spleens in the castle specifically the Dungeon they had to be everywhere down here. You can use a Rat Tail in a Hair Raising Potion

Oakey then thought that maybe he should have came up with a less disgusting ingredient. Hopefully today's class wasn't going to be about collecting the ingredient you mentioned.

Her potions stuff were destroyed?! Wait! HOW!? WHY!? WHEN!? Why didn't Nika know. Hmph. No one ever tells her anything! "Hellebore," Nika said raising her hand. She had remembered reading up on these over the summer. She wanted to do better in Lafay's class. "I think it's used in Draught of Peace and it's a plant so I'm sure we can find it in one of the greenhouses?" She said with an arched eyebrow.

Lafay was asking her to THINK? Everybody knew Macy hated thinking. She was no good at it. Especially way down here in the dungeons. Not having access to light made her brain shrink.

EURGH. Well. She'd give it a go anyways, she supposed.

"Erm, daisy roots," she said questionably. Those had to be out on the grounds somewhere. I mean, really, how hard could it be to find a daisy. "And those are used in... shrinking solutions." She thought. Yes. No. Maybe. Yes? UGH. This was why she hated thinking.

Janice wasn't sure specifically what things are there in the Grounds, but she had to give it a try. She raised her hand, and answered.
"There are a lot of plants in the gardens, sir. We could see what herbs are there and if it is a Potions Ingredient, we could bring it here and, err, put it in the store room!"

Jai raised his hand as he remembered seeing Bubotuber in the student garden,"The bubotuber plant which contains pus can be used in a Beautifying Potion. The pus which in a diluted state is used to treat acne but it can be used in the beautifying potion which gives the drinker an appearance of being more attractive. The bubotuber pus however if undiluted can be poisonous to the skin once contact is made. You can find this plant in the Herbology greenhouses."
