"I am sorry to hear that," Patroclus sighed, "If there is anything I can do to help, let me know." Family illness was a very sad matter, "Did he get checked out at St Mungo's?"

Blushing even deeper, Emmy hid her face in the collar of her robes.
"It's very kind of you to say so..." she mumbled shyly, then laughed, "'Bet your Badgers'?! Where d'you get that from?! I'm glad you enjoyed yourself though!"

She sighed; trust her to sour every happy moment with her troubles. "Thanks Patroclus - you're a true friend. No, he won't hold with Healers and the like - he was against my coming here, and it took mum and me a whole year to convince him it wouldn't do me any harm." Stubborn old fart... she thought crossly.

The boy laughed, Emmy was a Badger, bet began with the same letter as badger, and to be honest it sounded cool, so why not say it? Patroclus smiled to himself. "But yeah I enjoyed every minute."

However Patroclus did not enjoy having to see Emmy in distress, "I am sure he will come around, I bet it would be hard to accept that you are apart of a world that you had no idea exsisted, especially when it's not you being the one with magical ability." Patroclus was lucky in the respect that he had always had magic in his life, but at the same time Emmy was lucky that she had experienced a whole other type of life, one without magic, "I am here for you, if you need me!" he reminded her, because that's that friends do.

GAH! Was it that obvious?

"Well, no, I didn't always want an owl, but..." Charisa flashed a worried glance toward Sova high up in the rafters. But she was an animal lover, darn it. And Merlin knows how much it bothered her that she didn't really want an owl. "Sova's really useful. I can send mail back home because tawny owls are pretty strong, and she's got to be able to make the trip all the way back to the Ukraine," Charisa explained. So it wasn't that she wasn't ungrateful about having an owl. It was that... "I asked my parents for a frog. But that shows how much they listen to me." Bluntly, put. But she wasn't mad at Raven for asking.

"I have no idea how it is even physically possible for Syltherin to be the only house to have house points. I mean, how does our house have -5?? I Just dont get it Asteria."
JP said this slightly loud and at once he noticed other people in the room. "Whoops. Whatever. It's the truth though. It's definitely rigged."

The boy didn't know if Damian's owl was greeting or attacking her. "You need any help?" he asked, ready to spring at the bird.

Since it'd been a few days, Dal figured he should at least acknowledge that his owl was here. He trudged up to the owlery, making a face at the floor when he saw it. Gross. He tiptoed carefully across the room, trying not to get too much grossness on the bottom of his shoes. He saw skeletons or rats and other small things that owls found appetizing, and made another face. Owls were weird creatures.

"Barty!" he yelled, looking at the rafters for his owl. He turned slowly, working hard not to accidently lose his balance, since he was still standing on his toes. There was a swish of brown wings, and his owl landed one of Dallin's shoulders. He stared at it for a second before reaching into a pocket and giving the owl a treat. Slowly, he reached a hand up to stroke it's back.

Asteria flew over to the owl that his fellow Ravenclaw was now walking to.
"Asteria get over here!" JP yelled over to his owl. He ran and forgot how dirty this place got slipped and bummed into the ravenclaw. Embarrassed Jp looked up at him "uh, sorry there mate."

He smiled sort of apologetically when the Ravenclaw cleaned his shoes. Sure, he hadn't asked for it, but he could've done it himself. Maybe the boy was just nice. "You're cool," he observed simply, nodding. He didn't say anymore, since his words had been pointless anyway.

"The owl?" he asked, looking at the owl on his shoulder. "What about it?" He frowned at the owl that was quietly cooing at the other boy's owl.

Dallin half smiled as the boy laughed. He wondered a little why the boy wasn't speaking much. Was he intimidating? Or was the younger boy just shy or something?"

"Nah, not sending anything. Although I probably should..." he trailed off, thinking about his parents. There were his sisters, too, but they weren't as demanding about things like that. "What about you?" he asked.

"Fourth year. But I'm a transfer. This is my first year at Hogwarts."

JP opened it. A clear ball was in the package with a letter that fell to the floor without Jp noticing."Not really sure what this is." JP looked at the ball inquisitively. "A transfer? That's awesome! Where did you come from if you don't mind me asking.

Dallin frowned slightly as he looked at the ball. "Is that..." he shook his head. He didn't know much about some magical items, but that looked familiar. Unless it was something different, and it just looked like the thing he was thinking of. Shrugging, he said, "Hold it for a while, see what happens."

"Merlin's Academy of Magic," he answered JP's question with a nod. "It's in the New England part of the U.S. I'm from Florida."

"It sorta looks like a Remembrall." Dallin said with a shrug. He didn't know if that's what it really was, but really, who knew. "It could just be a bouncy ball." That was possible too.

He chuckled at the next question. "Well... yeah," he said, sounding kind of sorry for the truth, as if he should be liking Hogwarts and England much more than his home. "I mean, I like Hogwarts better than my last school, so far. But I miss Florida."

He could only imagine how much better the weather was out there. "I am not surprised you said that Dallin. I bet the weather is a whole lot better. It's dreadful out here. Raining all the time and cold. Hmph, what i would give to be in that summer sun. My Muggle cousin lives in Virginia and his family goes to the south for vacation. He tells me all about it. Do you still talk to your school mates from over there??"

Dallin nodded knowingly. If JP said he was right about it, then he was going to assume that he was right. Because it was cool to be right.

Nodding again, this time slower, he frowned. "That's exactly it. It's colder here, too. And wetter." Not humidity-wise, but rain-wise. Dal only liked rain when it was warm summer rain, not cold rain that made him stay inside so that he didn't get sick. That rain was bad.

"Honestly? I didn't have very many good friends from there. I mostly hung out with older students, because my sisters are older, and I spent most of the time with them." That sounded really sad, but it was true. He preffered to hang with his sisters and their pretty friends. That's why he was such a stud around girls.

"Hahaha, we're definitely in different direction, I personally choose my Aguiluz, but didn't mean I hate frog or other in the list they gave to us, just because I love bird, that all." Raven say it giving intention to cheer up Charissa.
