"Well, yeah. I'm not frightened by her or anything, I know she could never attempt to harm me, but I guess I just didn't quite like the idea of her possibly making sure my days at Hogwarts were less than friendly." Christopher shrugged. "I mean, I really like Violet. I think I just asked her so I wouldn't hurt her feelings." He really did like this girl, honestly. He just wasn't really ready for a relationship. Luckily, he made sure he would take it slow. VERY slow.

Helena looked puzzled as Christopher spoke. It was a bit awkward, the situation, but she didn't say anything else. She also noticed that he was telling her this as if they knew each other since... forever. Not that she'd tell anyone. But... they still barely knew each other.

Anyway, the girl looked over her arm, where Hades stood quietly, propped to her chest.

Wait.

Waaaaait.

Did he just... fall asleep?

...

Adorable little creature. "Uhh... I think Hades enjoyed hearing our conversation," she said jokingly, gently stroking the tiny owl.

At this point, Christopher was feeling extremely awkward. He just never knew when to stop talking, and social cues weren't exactly his strong suit. He was forever grateful when Helena changed the subject. He faked a laugh when he saw Hades asleep, though he was still feeling awkward. Hades did on the otherhand, made the conversation much lighter. "He must've really enjoyed it, huh," he joked.

Christopher looked back onto his own shoulder, checking to see if his own owl had fallen asleep. Nope! All good. Baltimore was still awake, though he was looking rather bored.

Helena's smiled faded, seeing Christopher... well, not exactly happy. "Are you okay?" She asked, sliiiightly narrowing her eyes. She hoped this question wouldn't upset him or something, but he really didn't look okay. This dating thing was definitely bothering him.

She also looked at Baltimore, who seemed to be still awake, but didn't say anything about that.

Christopher shrugged. "Yeah, I'm just really confused. About a lot of things. More than just girl problems." Though they are very confusing, girls are. He just couldn't get his mind off of his home life, and he hated talking about it.

"Oh! Tomorrow's my birthday! That's good news isn't it?" at least they were on a brighter, happier subject.

More than just girl problems?

He definitely made Helena curious, but she decided to let it go, as he clearly wasn't comfortable talking about this subject. But then...

Changing the subject. Boys. Hehe.

"Oooh happy birthday!" Helena said happily. "For... tomorrow," she grinned. But she wasn't sure what to do next. Hug? Handshake? Uh...

Christopher grinned. "Thanks. I'll be thirteen." Hehe, being a teenager was something to look forward to, so things couldn't be all that bad. When he looked back up at Helena, he saw her swaying where she stood, pondering something. It sort of looked like she was deciding whether or not to start dancing. He chuckled and asked, " Are you alright over there? You look as though you're going to break into song and start dancing!" He said jokingly.

Helena looked like a raddish. A very... red raddish.

"I -" Uhhh what should she say? "I don't... dance. I never do, actually," she managed to say. And... yes, it was true. And even though her singing skills were pretty good, "And I wasn't going to sing either."

Okay, change the subject, because it's getting silly.

"Thirteen, huh?" The girl grinned, her face slowly turning pale again. "I hope it's not going to be an unlucky year for you." Even though she didn't actually believe that the number thirteen was a 'bad luck number'. But... you know, just changing the subject.

Christopher noticed that Helena kept blushing. She was blushing a lot actually. Hopefully not as bad as he was, but hey. He did a very good job at concealing the fact that he wanted to chuckle at how quickly she would turn back to her normal colour, just to turn red again. "Why don't you sing or dance? Don't girls like that sort of thing?" Most of the girls he knew did, anyway. Christopher was always a big music fan, he could never understand why some people didn't like it.

A grin slid onto Christopher's face. "Yeah, hopefully I won't be too unlucky!" He joked. Though he was a pretty unlucky person, not that he believed in that sort of superstitious black-cats-are-evil sort of things that a lot of Muggles did. He always found it so amusing when some of the meaner Muggle girls from his home town would freak out if he walked under a ladder or did something like that. He was a freak to them, along with almost everyone else at home, but if only they could know about wizards, maybe it'd be different........ or not.

"I... sing," Helena said, suddenly looking down at her shoes, so she wouldn't turn red again. "But... just for myself, for now at least." Even if she refused to admit it, she had a pretty voice and everything. But she simply wasn't ready to share it. Yet. "And dancing... no," she giggled, now looking up at Christopher. "You wouldn't want to see me dancing." She was a total disaster. A lost case. Hopeless.

As for the bad luck... "You'll be lucky," she said, kind of smiling-grinning. "It's just a number, after all," she shrugged.

"Atleast you're singing! I'm sure you're wonderful, even if you do chose to keep your voice to yourself." Christopher was the same way.... except he wasn't good at singing. Though he would occasionally catch himself humming a tune down the corridor. Christopher chuckled and replied, "No worries, Helena. I can't dance either!" Not at all! He could skate though, which was quite ironic. "Do you play any sports or musical instruments? Or are you a technology person?"

"I surely hope not!" He chuckled, thirteen was merely a number, though to him, it was an important birthday. "So when's your birthday?"

Helena blushed juuuust a little. "Thank you... for your support," she giggled. She suddenly wondered how good was Christopher at singing. Hehe. But then... "So I won't be the only one humiliating myself if there's going to be a ball or something?" Yaaay!

Technology person? Naaah. "I'm not exactly into all this muggle technology thing." You know, growing up in a pureblood family, they didn't quite need it. "But, yes. I played the piano some time ago, but since Hogwarts started, I didn't get the chance to play anymore. How about you?"

Her birthday? "Just one day before Halloween," she said, grinning.

"Snowball?" Caroline called her snowy owl. Where was he? "Snowball" She called again. The white owl flew into the owlery and landed right in front of her. She reached her hand out and petted the owl. "Where were you?" She asked the owl, as she pulled a treat from her pocket. She gave her owl the treat. She noticed a letter attached to his foot. Oh so that's where he has been. She took the letter away from the owl. She looked at the envelope. It said 'Caroline' in her mother's handwriting. What is mother doing sending me a letter. Gasp! How did she find out about Carter. She didn't even get a chance to send a letter to Starr about him yet. She torn open the envelope and threw open the letter:

"What?" She shouted into the letter. She crumbled it up in her hand. This was crazy. Leave it to her mother to write her a letter telling her something like that. She was getting remarried. She didn't even no that her mother had boyfrined. She was replacing her father and she knew it. The first and probably only letter the whole term. She couldn't even wait to tell her to her face. There was no way that she was going back to her mother's this summer at all now.

Emily ran up and pulled down her hood. It was cold and wet outside, but she had to send this letter to her sister as soon as possible.
She looked around at the owls, wondering which would be best for her.
'This would be so much easier if I had my own owl' she thought, looking at the schools owls when she noticed an older girl here as well. She looked... angry? Emily coudn't really tell.
"Hey, are you alright?" she asked, hopeing the girl wasn't too mad.

Caroline heard someone coming up the steps. She quickly tired to so be or sound so angry. She seen a younger girl from Gryffindor. She lauged to herself. Now her big sister act was possibly moving to the lion's house. Just the comdic relief that she needed right now. "I'll will be when I don't have to put up with my mother." The was the last straw with her. Caroline was always a nice girl and hated that anyone saw her mad. "I'm Caroline. Caroline Scott. By the way." She put her hand out to the girl and changed her voice into a soft and sweet voice.

Uh oh. Family troubles. It always was.
"Emily Smith" she said shaking the slytherins hand "Nice to meet you"
She noticed her voice had changed and smiled. At least she didn't want to be mad, and so woudn't take it out on her. Someone always seemed too...
"What's up with your mother? If you don't mind me asking." she quickly added, hopeing to not sound too nosey. She coudn't be any worse than her biological mum. Right?
