Visit with your Owl This spot of the owlry is reserved for those people caring for and visiting their owls (or the school owls, if you don't have your own). |
Helena got into the Olwery and looked around at the hooting owls. They're so beautiful, she thought, looking at a couple of snowy owls. But she was looking for her own. There he is, she thought, looking at a baby eagle owl as her eyes met its tiny ones. The owl quickly flew across the Olwery and landed on her arm. "'The owl'? You surely need a name," she said, trying to find one. "Hades. What do you think?" She looked at the tiny and cheerful owl, thinking about the greek god Hades. Helena loved the greek mythology. "Okay then, you're Hades," she said cheerfully. |
As he stepped into the Owlery, Derian was taken aback by the noise. The owls were all busy chattering to themselves about whatever owls talked to each other about. As he closed the door behind him, he ignored the other girl there--figuring that she wanted her privacy--and busied himself by looking for his owl. He finally spotted the familiar unsettling visage staring at him as though the owl could see into his soul. He smiled--Enki's wise, penetrating gaze was what had initially caught (and then held) his attention. "Enki! Come down here from that perch, I have some treats for you!" To reiterate the offer, he pulled a mouse he had caught from his pocket and dangled it for Enki to see. Predictably, the owl was instantly drawn and landed on his shoulder hooting eagerly for his meal. |
Selina groggily walked up the steps to the owlery. She knew it was late at night, but she had to visit Hermes before bed. The baby Tawny owl was nowhere in sight. Pulling out treats she called out, "Hermes!" The little bird flew down and ate the treats. |
Eino entered the owlery with his potted cactus on one hand and a letter on the other. "They ought to clean this place." He told Faustus as he dodged the incoming owl drops and avoided the ones already on the floor. He searched for a spot where cactus could stay and placed him on it before he began instructing the plant. "Now, this is where you must stay," he began and paused to think, "let's see... In the mornings, you will deliver me my mail, that seems right, do you suppose so, Fautus?" The cactus agreed, or at least it didn't object. "Yes, in the Great Hall, might I add, where I shall be breaking my fast, I will reward you with some sort of treat, then you will return here." Eino described Faustus' duties very clearly hoping that no misunderstandings would occur. "In the afternoon, you shall take naps," He proceeded and wiggled his pointed finger at Fautus as he said so for he knew the cactus always tried to skip his naps. "Finally, at night you are allowed to hunt for mice, and other things that you may like to eat, except rocks, you mustn't eat those." Eino made the last remark very seriously, more so than before, and continued to paced to and fro with his arms folded against his chest as he thought of any further instructions. "Also, you must play nicely with the other owls, and not prick them with your needles. You should try, I suppose, to poop elsewhere, this place already has plenty of it-- Except in the afternoons, of course, because you are not allowed the leave the owlery." That seemed about right. "Oh, here is your first job." He took a ribbon out of his pocket and tied the letter to the cactus, pricking himself a couple of times, which he accused the cactus of doing purposely and scolded him for. "Please take this to my mother." He gave the plant its final instructions, placed a treat next to the pot, waved good-bye and left the owlery. |

To say that he was confused would be a vast understatement. "Is it like... a magical cactus?" He added the last question as an after thought. He was, after all, a part of the wizarding world now. Maybe magical people employed sentient cacti... what did he know? |
If her owl had rode with her on the train, if he had come down to visit her when she had woke up, then she wouldn't have had to climb all seven floors to make sure he had arrived to the castle safely. Hating the fact that she had put off breakfast to visit the owl, she entered the owlery, eyes searching for her pet. |

Annabelle found the owlery, she couldn't believe how big it was. She was looking for Charlene, untill she found the glowing amber eyes and the white feathers. Her owl flew down to her, and she nipped Annabelle affectionatley. "I know i missed you too." she said. "I have a letter to send home to mom, you ready for the challenge?" Charlene hooted which meant she was ready. She tied the note to Charlene's leg and she saw her owl fly graciously into the sun set. She knew it was the right thing to do, she wanted to tell her mother she met new friends and is comfortable at hogwarts. It was her second home now after all |

Selina began to pet her small owl that had finally flown down to meet her hand. The sweet bird was sitting in her palm. She handed the bird a treat. Once the bird was done she posted a small letter to it's leg. It was for her parents. She missed them terrible and so much had happened. |
*Walking in Matty snapped his fingers and a creamy brown owl flew down to his shoulder.* "Ello Christmas..." *He gave he a treat and a soft pat. Matty hated the name but his adopted little brother/cousin Michael named him that when his uncle gave him to Matty Christmas morning. Michael kept yelling Christmas over and over and that was what the owl would only come to.* "Take this to uncle for me okay?" *The owl took the letter and flew off.* |

"Hey Chloe." She moved to rise from the floor, wiping the bits of dust off her clothing. "Its fine....really....not the first time I fell in here." And it wouldn't be the last. "I'm Arya. What year are you?" |

"Well, at any rate, the name's Derian. Sorry I've been so amazed by... Faustus, you said? Again, I've just never seen such a thought provoking plant." He grinned sheepishly and ran a hand through his hair, "What's your name?" |
Elizabeth went up the stairs in a hurry, anxiously excited to see her owl again. She looked everywhere for YeKuang, but no sign of her. Elle became frantic. Her brothers would get angry at her for being so careless. Due to panic, she forgot that owls would never be lost. She simply stood by a narrow window, overlooking the greens and activities held by other classes. Almost weeping, she felt two pressure points on her shoulder. She looked up and... it was her owl! "Oh, YeKuang. Never do that to me again. How was your journey? I missed you so much!" She stroked her owl gently and fed it with some bird food. |

Alice had promised to write her dad a letter upon her arrival back to Hogwarts, and she was indeed a girl of her word. Calling Snowflake down from her perch the owl landed on her shoulder. Alice handed her a little owl treat, which she chewed on happily while Alice tied the letter to her leg. "Do be careful during your flight," Alice said, giving the owl a little kiss on the cheek before sending it off. |
After tripping over every other stone step, Pandora finally (and thankfully in one piece) made it to the owlery. She ducked down in enough time when a few of the owls began to take flight inside the owlery, going from post to post. Grumbling, she whistled for her red barred owl, Arwen, to come to where she was at. Heaven forbid she attempt to actually take a few more steps inside, being the accident prone person that she was. After whistling again, she held out her arm when she saw her red friend fly towards her, landing on her master's outstretched arm. Pandora winced from the bite of Arwen's talons, stroking the bird's neck. "I've not even been here a week and I'm already in need of bandages, Arwen." She chuckled when the bird twittered at her, flapping her wings a few times. "Alright, alright. Take this letter to my sister, she'll be wanting to know I made it here...well, relatively safe." |
