The first thing you notice about this office is the exceptionally large and familiar desk, which, if you look closer; seems to have unusual scuffmarks on its surface. Perhaps it serves a less mundane purpose than simply a desk? A large and comfortable looking chair sits behind it; obviously this is Ethan’s chair though you will rarely find him sitting in it unless you've arranged to meet him here or he happens to be marking homework.

Three smaller, yet no less comfortable looking chairs are arranged facing the desk, ready for any visiting students to take a seat. While waiting you might notice a large bookcase along one wall brimming with photo frames. Pictures of Ethan in his days as a student at WADA (if you look closely at the one on the left, you might recognize a former Hogwarts staff member shuffling a pack of cards and doing one of those hit-with-the-ladies grins that former rockstars are quite good at) , one of him as a serious looking thirteen year old in Slytherin robes, a selection of him a few years ago with various dragons in the background, several cosy looking pictures with Anastasia Bunbury, a recent picture of himself with ex-professors formerly known as Lawsons, one of him on a muggle sailing ship, one of himself with a gaggle of Avalons including former Healer Caroline Avalon and former Gryffindor student Tobias Avalon, another on stage dressed in tights and holding a skull, a picture of himself with two of his former students (Dominic Denton and Copernicus Kettleburn), another several years old, of him rock-climbing with Jake (who was Upstead at the time) and one of him in Egypt working with curse breakers. There are several priceless items including a remarkably intact looking Egyptian wand, a dragon-sized harness and an early sneakoscope set in plain view.

There are two huge bookcases brimming with dusty looking tomes, several lanterns floating about and heavy velvet drapes cover the windows. These drapes like to change colours, seemingly at random, though in truth they work somewhat like a mood ring, picking up on the vibe of the room. They're edged in rune symbols.

An old looking gramophone sits on the bookcase with a selection of records stacked haphazardly to one side, various eras of music are represented; of both the wizarding and the muggle variety. On the walls his OWL and NEWT results are proudly displayed alongside certificates proclaiming his knowledge and familiarity with various Dragon breeds, as well as a far more crisp looking certificate from the Wizarding University in Cairo where he spent a year teaching magical and dead languages.

There is a floo to one side of the room, the entire thing is covered in red etched bindrunes and rune charms which almost thrum under your fingertips if you happen to touch them. They won't hurt you but they won't let you use the floo without knowing how to deactivate them either. No in. No out. As per usual, the wards and charms protecting the office are substantial, and many are particularly subtle. They won't be activated unless Truebridge is not here.

There is no need to wait outside the office unless Truebridge asks you to, You must knock and wait to be addressed before entering or you risk losing house points for being disrespectful.

At the sound of another knock on the door, Jake glanced over his shoulder at it before looking back up at Truebridge for a moment, and then longingly at the bookcase. Oh how he wished he could steal that bookcase.

"I should be going, sir," he said, standing up. He wasn't really all that tired but had no desire to be in the room whilst other people were. Unless it was Ikenna.

Ethan stood up and selected a book from the bookcase, seemingly at random but really it was the first one in the top left corner. He offered it to Jake almost reverentially. Not because it was any book in particular, but because it was a book in the first place.

"Perhaps you'll manage to work through the entire bookcase this term." He remarked. "If you wish to try."

He stepped back so that Emily could entire and offered a quick wink to Katie.

"Yes sir," Jake nodded, and was about to leave, but watched what Truebridge was doing, first. A BOOOOOOOOOOOK. And one clearly Jake didn't have, never really being one to do extra-curricular reading on Ancient Runes.

"Thank you," he grinned, looking straight at the man before focusing on the book again, treating it with more respect than he ever would with any human.

He gave a lopsided smiled. "We'll just see if I can't," Jake nodded. Oh, he would have a try. "See you in class, Professor."

And with that, he took his leave.

Vadoma smiled, at least this professor remembered her, half of them wouldn't recognize her since her hair colour had changed from blonde to a dark brown just mintues ago in the dorm room.

"Hello professor Truebridge." Vadoma smiled, then hesitated but if she was going to go by her Romani name from now on she really had to tell the professors. "If you don't mind, sir, I would really like to be called Vadoma, my Romani name."

Vadoma smiled, good he would use her new name. "Well, sir, you see I just wanted to tell you that over the summers I have been learning divination and along with that have been using ancient runes for divination uses over the summers and was wondering how this might affect my class work..." vADOMA SAID.

Simon decided that he would see if the Professor was in his office, he wanted to know who created the subject of Ancient Runes because he had no idea about anything to do with the subject and if he found out who created it maybe he could find a book on the subject.

Simon knocked on the door and then started to get nervous what if the Professor thought he was being silly and told him off, he did think of the idea of running away but then he remembered he had knocked on the door, he would just have to wait and see if the Professor was in his office, he just stood there waiting.

"No problem at all, Vadoma." Truebridge managed to avoid mentioning why he did not at ALL like divination.

He found it creepy.

Ancient Runes, Sakura decided, was not her subject. She didn't understand it one bit but she wanted too. Maybe not fully, she didn't care for the subject enough to try for a full understanding, but she at least wanted to understand the basics well enough to be able to attend class and do her homework.

That being said she didn't want to let her confusion be known about in class. She was in her final year, it was embarrassing that she didn't understand Ancient Runes and that first years had a better grasp on the subject than she did.

Breathing out slowly Sakura knocked timidly on the door. Hopefully talking to the professor would help her gain the understanding she needed.

"These are for me?" He looked at them in surprise. They would be fine once they were cut up a bit, to destroy all evidence of roundness. Cut in wedges would do the trick quite nicely. He waited for Katie to sit.

"The answer is quite simple and entirely complicated all at once. The simple version is that I had a better offer, one with more money and more opportunity, teaching at the Wizarding University in Cairo. I had a vested interest in one of the students there, who I had taught here when I was teaching History of Magic, so it seemed a good opportunity, and a nice chance for a break from Hogwarts." He paused, wondering if the little girl wished to know more.

Smiling up at the professor Sakura sort of bounced inside. Ever since she'd been made to skip in Diagon Alley she'd been acting kind of childish. Which reminded her, she should seek out her new friend so that they could go exploring like they said they would!

But for now...

"Haii Professor. How are you today?" Sakura asked with a bright smile as she moved even further into the room. There were a lot of people in here. But probably it would still be less embarrassing than asking in class.

Sakura would be happy if he could just point out a book that would help her. Anything would be better than her current confused state on the subject. She really should have gone to classes in her previous years. To help her case, well hopefully to help her get what she wanted, she sent the professor her best child-like imploring look. Please let him help her.

"It is my job to do so. I would hope that I'm able to help you." He paused. "What was your name? And did you take Ancient Runes at OWL level?" Truebridge took parchment and quill from his desk and wrote a few book titles down.

"Sakura, and no. I did extracurricular activities which excused me from Ancient Runes," since her school had made it a compulsory subject all the way through and had a different class for each year once she'd missed it in her second year she'd never been able to understand it and so had just left the subject entirely. Her transcripts however had shown her to be passing the subject. She probably should have asked before now...

"Well I know that runes are an ancient writing system and that they are separated into Futhark's. Different runes have different purposes, like healing, and people believe that they were used for divination, then again practically everything can be used for Divination once you know the art. Oh and that the Elder Futhark originated from the Germanic region," Sakura paused for a moment, trying to think of what else she may actually know. "Oh and I know what the different runes look like, but that's really it." Truth be told Sakura was fairly embarrassed at the lack of knowledge she had. Sure she hadn't attended any runes lessons since her first year but she should so know more about the subject than she should.

"Of course I'll attend your lessons Professor," if she could understand what was going on then she was sure she would like class. It was just that when she didn't understand things, and had no-one to really ask for help, who would willingly give it without looking down at her, she had no interest in something, and would therefore avoid it if she could.
