*Staaaaaaaare*

The Blondes eyebrows raised and her arms folded as she listened to what he was about to say. If he did anything then the badge on her robes could get him into an awful lot of trouble. "Well if you weren't stood blocking a public pathway then I think you'll find no one WOULD end up walking into you." YEAH! Beat that aggressive kid. She smirked from ear to ear as she looked at him. Jeez, she was a Slytherin no doubt about it, you couldn't say anything to her without expecting an equally sarcastic remark back.

Angel?

*Cough!Splutter*

Did he just call her an angel? "Carry on acting that way in life and your not going to get a girl. Sickly comments don't work on me." POW! Mhmm.. She raised her eyebrows again, something she found herself to do quite a lot. She glanced across at some students that were walking down the path. "And I think we should move out the way before we're trampled over." She grabbed him by the robes and pulled him across, towards the Willow. She wasn't SCARED of it, but maybe he was.

"The names Trixie. Head Girl. Slytherin house if you must know anymore" she informed him, not bothering to hold out her hand for a handshake or whatever other formal shizz the students tended to do around here. Bleeeh.. What was the point with being formal with people your OWN age?

Tyson studied Trixie for a moment before roaring with laughter. He was going to get along just fine with this girl. She wasn't afraid to stand up for herself and it reminded him of himself. He imitated her gesture and crossed his arms as well, "It's a free country and I don't see a sign anywhere saying I can't stand here. Beside people should go around me if they know what's best for them." He grinned. The girl thought she had come back at him, but she was going to have to do better than that.

Trixie raised his eyebrows at his nickname for her. It was about time someone didn't fall for the names, strong willed. He approved, "Well, it's good to know that there are some people at his school who have a strong will. I beleive you are the first girl who hasn't fallen for the names, thank goodness there are actually people out there who don't fall for my charm."

Suddenly, this new girl shoved him out of the path and nearer to the tree. Man he had some respect for that tree. Was a bit suprised about the contact but this girl did have a tendancy to suprise him. He smiled cheekily and bowed, "It is an honour to meet you Headgirl Trixie, though I did see you were Slytherin from your clothes and your Headgirl badge is clear to all those who pass you."

Huh. So this was the great and famous Whomping Willow. Dallin studied it from a couple hundred feet away, slowly sitting down on the sloping lawn toward the tree. It looked pretty harmless now, gently swaying in the wind. But any tree that actually swayed was surely not harmless. He brought his knees up and rested his elbows on them, putting his chin in his hands as he watched the tree. He wondered if he could get closer, but decided against it. He wouldn't want to take a trip to the Hospital wing this early in the term.

Alice figured the Whomping Willow was a good spot to clear her mind...sure she couldn't get too close to the tree for fear it would hit her and send her to the hospital wing, but as long as she kept her distance she was fine.

She was on her way down the somewhat steep slope when she spotted a boy that she wasn't sure she'd ever seen before. Not sure whether or not he wanted to be left alone, Alice took a seat on the slope far enough away that she wasn't invading his personal space, but close enough that if he did want to chat she could talk to him. He looked a little older than her....Alice wondered where he was from.

Catching a movement out of the corner of his eye, Dallin looked over and saw a girl sit down not too far away from him. He looked at her for a bit, trying to guess how old she might be, and tell from her expression and body language if she wanted to talk, or not. But, he wasn't good at either of those things, so he decided to just give up on guessing and talk to her.

So, naturally, he asked the first thing that came to his mind. "Do you know how close you can get to that tree without getting whacked?"

" Good, did not want you to get hurt like me" Rex told JP. " Kay is in HufflePuff" Rex said to JP. " You would really like Ksy" Rex smiled. Look out for the glitter girl Fee" Rex warned JP.

" I thought it was earlier than last term" Rex told Fee. " Well, you know better than I do" Rex laughed." Of course, I am grat, I am your best best male friend." Rex said to Fee.

Alice jumped slightly, a bit surprised that the boy had decided to talk to her. How close could you get to it? Alice let out a little exhale. "I'm not sure actually," Alice said with a little chuckle. "I've never really tried although it seems like you should be able to get relatively close if you have quick reflexes," Alice said with a grin.

"I'm Alice, by the way, Alice Page," she said, extending her hand towards the boy.

Dallin nodded slowly in response, looking over at the tree again as the girl spoke. He didn't know why he was so curious about it; probably just because it was a new thing to him, and he'd - of course - never seen it in person before.

"Nice to meet ya. I'm Dallin McKinley, fourth year Ravenclaw." He was starting to get used to the natural feeling of that greeting and tacking 'Ravenclaw' onto the end of it.

"Nice to meet you Dallin," Alice said with a smile. A fourth year huh? Not too much older than her really. "It's kind of crazy isn't it...a tree that has so much personality. I mean, really it's got a mind of its own." Alice said, staring at the tree curiously. She had never gotten the chance to visit it last year, so she was glad to be seeing it now. "So, have you been at Hogwarts all four years?" Perhaps Dallin had transferred here and that was why she didn't recognize him...

"Crazy." Dal agreed, half-smiling. "It's cool, though, in a kind of scary, A-Tree-Can-Beat-Me-Up way." He chuckled. A tree with personality? Hogwarts was definitely cooler than Merlin's.

He shook his head at her question. "Nope, this is my first year here. I transferred from a school in the U.S." He glanced at the tree as it moved a few branches - big, thick branches that shouldn't have been moving - then looked back at Alice. "What year are you in?"

Normally Alice's paranoia would have made her be concerned at the idea of a tree being able to act so forcefully on its own accord, but the fact that a tree was immobile made her chuckle a little at Dallin's comment. "It is a bit creepy...thank heavens trees can't get up and move around."

"Oh, you're from the states too?!" Alice responded to Dallin's transferring. So...this was his first year here. Good to know she wasn't going crazy. "I'm from a very small, very tight knit muggle community in Virginia. I was going to go to Merlin's but my dad thought it would be a good idea for me to come to Europe...you know, see what the rest of the world is like."

Alice noticed the same thick branches that moved the same time Dallin did...perhaps they always moved like that? "I'm a second year," Alice said, glad to have Dallin's question distract her from how creepy that branch had been.

"Heeey Jp",Fee smiled seeing the boy walking over to her,"of ckourse i know him, he is my best friend."How cool that JP and Rex knew eachother too.They surely would have fun together."Oh yees Rex is Mister popular",she chuckled.Hah another person that agreed with her in that case, Hehe."It hit you in the face?",the blonde said shocked,"are you hurt? Everything good?"Yes,she worried easily.


Fee raised an eyebrow at her best friend when he warned JP about her."What was that about?",she laughed.Why that warning tone? Because she was irresistable? Joking.Hehe.

"She doenst seem to be too active around the castle",the blonde said.Well she had never been one too talk much but she only had seen Kay around a few times."Well you are right being my best friend makes you awesome",the Slythie giggled.Not that he wasnt awesome enough on his own.

" I was warning JP about your glittery ways" Rex teased Fee. " You are also crazy" Rex laughed. " Kay comes around HogWarts and the castle just a little now" Rex told Fee." Of course, I am awesome becuase we are besrt freinds or am I awesome because you are my best friend?" Rex asked Fee.

Dallin had a quick mental image of a killer tree rampaging through Hogwarts, and frowned. Then, realizing how ridiculous he was, he laughed. "Yes, that would be extremely creepy." As if a moving tree wasn't creepy enough.

His eyes widened at the 'too' at the end of her question. He was about to ask where she was from, but she continued on her own. He nodded slowly as she talked. He'd never been to Virginia, but he had passed through it before on a road trip once. "I went there for four years." he told Alice, talking about Merlin's. "But last summer I convinced my parents to let me come here."

His eyes moved back to the tree, then quickly away again. He'd have to get closer to it sometime, when he felt braver. "I'm from Florida," he said, looking over at Alice again. He thought that since she told him where she lived, it would be nice if he told her, too. If she even cared. "I live in Tampa, right now. Big town, so I really don't know about the muggle-slash-wizard population." Since it was a big town, he would be willing to guess that there were a lot of both. "I'm muggle-born, though."

Alice nodded as she listened to Dallin, figuring it was better to keep her eyes on him rather than the tree. She knew it was silly to be having visions of the tree coming up the hill, wrapping its long and thick branches around them before carrying them away into the dark abyss of the Forbidden Forrest. Sometimes Alice felt like her imagination was too big for its own good.

"Did you like it at Merlin's, or is that why you wanted to come here?" Alice asked, hoping that she wasn't intruding into his personal life too much. She had just met him after all and she didn't want to seem like she was being nosey.

Tampa, huh? "I've been to Florida, but never Tampa," Alice said with a little chuckle. "I hear it's quite populated there though so I don't blame you for not knowing how many witches and wizards there." Alice's body instinctively went stiff when Dallin mentioned that he was muggle born.

"I'm a muggle born for all intents and purposes as well," Alice said with a little smile. She figured that even though her mother was a witch (a witch who wanted nothing to do with her) it was better to just say she was muggle born since her father, who was a muggle, was the one that was taking care of her. "It's kind of crazy thinking we went through eleven years of our lives without knowing what all was out there you know? To think that people can actually do the things they can with a flick of a wooden stick, to look at it simply, and a series of words."

Did I like it there? Dallin took a moment to think before answering, not really knowing how to answer that question honestly, without talking for ages. "I... I think it was good that I started school there." He said with a sharp nod. "It would have been way too much for me to start here, all alone and stuff. At least at Merlin's I had my sisters with me to sorta help me into the Wizarding World." Gah. That sounded dumb.

He'd actually still been looking to her when she talked, so he noticed her get a bit more... stiff. His eyebrows scrunched together, but he decided not to ask about it. It was probably personal anyway. "It's very crazy." He agreed, his eyes widening as he looked down. "Although, I was younger. I was... six? Seven? Something like that. Two of my sisters are witches." Man, he was sure chatty today.

"What gets me is that some people can do it, and some can't. Maybe it's just me, but I don't know what you have to have in you to be able to perform magic."

Alice nodded at him, sensing that there was a story involved with why he left, but she figured she wouldn't push it. If he wanted to share he could, but he didn't have to. "Oh, so you have siblings?" Alice said with a little smile. "I'm an only child and so far as I know I'm the only witch besides my..." Alice stiffened again but after a little shake of the head managed to finish the sentence. "Besides my mother," she concluded.

Alice shifted her attention back to the tree for a moment before returning her gaze to Dallin. "Was it easier having siblings show you the ropes so to speak? My dad and I have just been stumbling through it all," Alice said with a little laugh. She thought Dallin looked like her felt stupid for saying that out loud, so Alice tried to assure him that he didn't sound stupid. "It's kind of scary facing all of this alone," Alice said, giving a gesture with her hand. "I mean, muggles are open minded but even they aren't willing to believe that there are actual schools that teach people how to do magic, let alone people that are actually capable of magic."

Alice considered for a moment what exactly it was that made her a witch. Obviously there was something in her genetic composition that made her be able to do what she could do, but why did she have it but not another muggle girl that was the same age? "It is weird to think about what makes us so different from them you know? I mean, is it a complete difference in genetics? Are we so genetically different from them that there's no way to compare us to them, or is it just a singular cell in our body that's different?" Alice was quiet for a moment, picking at a blade of grass on the ground between her and Dallin. "I wonder if witches and wizards try and figure it out you know? I'm sure most just take it for what it is, and some probably think it's because we're some kind of "superior" race or some crazy nonsense like that." Alice shifted her gaze back up to Dallin. "What do you think makes us so different...from muggles I mean?"

Dallin nodded to her question. "Four," he said, his eyes widening. "All sisters, too. And older." Yepp, he was so lucky. And yes, that was sarcasm. His eyes widened more when she said her mother was a witch. But didn't she just say she was a muggleborn? ... That made absolutely no sense. Dallin looked down at his feet, frowning, but he didn't ask about it.

"I'm sure it helped me a lot." He said, shrugging one shoulder. "I didn't even know if I was a wizard until I got the letter for school, so it was a bit of a shock. But having two sisters at school with me was... nice, because I had someone that I knew there that could teach me things. And stuff." In other ways, though, he hadn't liked having family at school with him. And that's why he'd come to Hogwarts.

He stretched his legs out, leaning back on his hands as Alice thought. He didn't inturrupt her thinking; instead he let her think in quiet. When she talked, he listened closely, chewing on his lip and picking blades of grass. "I don't think we're so different," he mumbled thoughtfully. "I mean, if you think about it, and get sciencey..." he paused. "It's probably something like... a recessive gene. Because if it were something that only wizards had, there would be no such thing as muggleborns, because there would be no way that the kid could get magic."

That made sense, right? "But if it's a gene, or something that, then it's possible. Because people say that a muggleborn has magic somewhere in their ancestry, so maybe the gene was passed on through the family, but not used. So when you get two genes for magic, you get a witch or a wizard. Like hair color and earlobe attachment." That... was a lot of words. But they were actually kind of meaningful, and not just boring chatting. So that was good, right?

Quickly Walking down the stone steps, the Gryffindor took no real notice about his surroundings. Mwaha. He was skipping Runes! It was an awesome feeling. Of course he would suffer later but he didn't understand that class in the first place.

Legend stopped once he took notice of the giant tree coming into his view. Woah. The Whomping Willow! He hadn't seen it in a while. Plucking a stone from the ground he through it hard right at the tree.

Maybe he could get it to move?

"Don't do that!" Neptune Bott arrived JUST a moment too late to stop the dumbest Gryffindor of all time from doing something REALLY dumb.

"There is something seriously wrong with you, Legend." REALLY.

Legend was just about to pick up another stone when he heard a familiar voice. Turning around he raised a single eyebrow. "Stalker much? And I think I can do whatever I want thank you very much." Stone still in hand, Legend began to throw it up in the air and catch it.

Uhh...was Neptune crazy? "Nothing's wrong with me." He looked down at his clothes. "I look pretty good today." Huh. Hooow could something be wrong with him?

Neptune frowned at LegDumb. "You honestly think I would stalk you? Regardless of you how look," which was admittedly nice, "you're totally barbaric. And you hit me in the face."

"Don't throw that." Neptune took a few steps towards Legend, careful steps.

Legend, snorted. Yeah, yeah he did. "Obviously. That's why you are here and not in class." Staaalker.

Barbaric? The Gryffindor sighed. "I already apologized about that! I didn't mean to hit you only scare you. It's not like a threw a bat or like a chair." Girls took everything to heart! Like a spoon would hurt her anyways.

Dont throw that. Legend smirked. "You're not my mother. Why should I listen to you?" Huh Neptune?! HUH. It probably wasn't smart to attack the moving tree but it wasn't like it would feel a rock this small anyways. He turned and chucked the rock over at the tree, missing the branch by a couple of inches.

"Then you're dumber than I thought," Neptune admitted, simply. As to why she wasn't in class? Ehhh. "And you shouldn't scare girls. Least of all me. I never did anything to deserve that from you." HMPH.

"Sounds like someone needs to be your mother," she mumbled, watching in horror as he DID throw the rock. Neptune hugged herself, pulling her robe a bit tighter as the wind picked up.

It was a SPOOKY-feeling wind. Like the tree was warming up for retaliation. Or so Neptune thought anyway.

"What is with you Ravenclaw's and calling people dumb?" Just because they didn't wear the color blue meant they were stupid! They all got caught by the same Professors after all. "You...tried to turn my head into a ball full of water." Had she forgotten that already?

Legend picked up another stone and was about to throw that one too but stopped. Had it just got colder? He eyed the tree as it swayed slowly from side to side. It was not doing that a few seconds ago. He let the stone fall to the ground. He did not want to be killed by a tree. No thank you.

"I don't need a mother! I come to Hogwarts to get away from my parents!" Plus, his step mother was the one who made him do Ballet when he was 7. He would STILL be doing that if it wasn't for Hogwarts. "I like you much better when you don't giggle. Now, why were you stalking me?"
