Ellie was just about to raise her wand higher when she heard a voice behind her. She turned to see Braeden standing there, looking wary at the situation. Huh?! Braeden?! Where did that kid come from? She desperately wanted to turn back around and blow Enya's head off send another spell at Enya, but...

This was not the Ellie that Braeden had met. Ellie feared that if she continued to fight Enya, Brae would like, crack under the intense fighting pressure. Okay, noo. Ellie really didn't think he was that much of a sheltered wimp. Huh, she should probably say something.

"Braeden... Uhm... We're just having a, er... Friendly duel." Yeah, because "FRIENDLY DUEL" was written aaall over their foreheads. Ellie lowered her wand and went to put it in her left hand... Oh right. It was petrified... Huh. She smiled a nice, fake smile. Heh.

Friendly duel? Friendly?! Braeden was a bit of a coward, sure, but he was most definitely not stupid. Anyone with eyes could see this was anything but friendl-- GAH!

Braeden turned around as the groundskeeper suddenly seemed to appear out of thin air. Whoaaa, where'd he come from?! The poor boy nearly jumped a foot into the air in surprise, and turned from the groundskeeper to Ellie, to her opponent, and back to the groundskeeper. Errr... Yeah. If Brae couldn't stop them (which it seemed he wouldn't have been able to, with Ellie's determination), this guy would. Merlin. These girls were scary.

Well alrightyyyy thenn.... this was Braeden's cue to zip his mouth, conjure up some popcorn, watch the show, and then maybe make a movie out of it. Let's see where this goes.

Enya had been standing facing Ellie waiting for her to send her spell her way in the hope of catching her out. Ha, not that she will. Enya was good at this. Like mega good where she will win. She was still glaring at Ellie with her wand held out when someone interrupted them. She peeked sideways at the new boy who had walked up to them. She noticed him look at the and take a step back, Ha, was she that scary? Brillient!

He addressed them and she heard Ellie reply, by name! She should have known SHE knew him. Argh! She really hated that girl. "Go away this doesn't concern you" SHe told to boy rudly. Enya turned back to Ellie to see she had lowered her wand, brillent she could attack. She opened her mouth to say her spell when they were interrupted AGAIN! Oh what now!?

She turned around agian to see the Gameskeeper standing with them. Oh god now they were in trouble. Not that she really cared. But oh god. She however did not lower her wand, it was still pointed at Ellie. "She started it Professor" She said peeking at Ellie. Might as well get her told off as she did in fact start it, maybe a few days ago but nevermind that.

Ellie nearly jumped when she heard a man yell behind them. Gaah, what now? She turned around, looked past Braeden's scared-to-death expression and saw Stryker quickly making way towards them. She cursed under her breath. This had gotten way out of hand, and now the authority was involved. Greaat.

She felt bad for Brae now, who was just helplessly standing there. She gave him a sympathetic smile. And hoped that he wouldn't think she was some crazy freak that went around hexing other people's heads off.

She lowered her wand as soon as the Groundskeeper rose his. No need to make things more difficult... Enya, she noticed, did not lower her wand. Bad choice. And then she was blaming her?! Ellie gasped in frustration and surprise. "You're kidding! You little liar, I did not start anything!" She looked back and forth between Enya and the Groundskeeper. Enya was the first one to make a move, and Ellie wasn't going to let her stand blameless. She wanted to point out the fact that Stryker wasn't a professor, but the Groundskeeper... but then didn't seem like the best time.

Chad sighed and flicked his wand, muttering Expelliarmus at the young female. He had requested that they lower their wands and she hadn't. Chad had been hoping that they wouldn't make this difficult.

As she exclaimed that the other had started it, Chad raised his eyebrows and turned his head to look at the other female, who, thankfully, had lowered her wand.

"I was walking down the path when she bumped into me and told me to go away. I told her that I didn't have to, nor did I want to, so she kept bugging me and stuff until... this." She said, gesturing towards the situation.

Fee just shook her head.That girl was soo crazy. But that was why the blonde loved her friend so much.That was for sure."I am not being modest",she chuckled,"i am being honest thats it."Really the blonde didnt see why she should be that awesome.Of course she had some vain moments but still.

"My crazy mind never leaves me",the Slytherin giggled.for a few moments she had thought the great ideas had gotten lost but noooow they were back and Fee was happy.Tehe."People will be so jealous because we are soo cool and they arent.",the blonde laughed. Like them or not, when it came to nicknames these two were the queens.

Ohhhhhh now all of it made sense. As Nika walked from the courtyard over towards the pathways she thought about her success with the compass. "Maybe I could try just one more time." She took out the watch once more and thought about what she wanted it to look like. This had become a sort of routine for her. "Okay this time I want it to be in the shape of a square instead of a circle. And the polka dots will be on it again, it will be smaller than my palm, and I think I want it to be covered in some glitter!" That was enough detail for the time being. One thing at a time right? She said the spell confidently and watched as a plain watch bloomed into a fully decorated compass. "Okay maybe I should try to make it a little better!" Nika hated being in one place for too long, especially if she didn't have any friends with her. "Maybe I will go around that weird tree that seems to be mad all of the time or something"

The once-dirt pathway was invisible, hidden by the same white that coated the fence and trees above. Making her way over to the side, in an effort to stay out of other passing students’ ways, Wesley brushed the snow off of a decently sized fence post. The pocket watch, once placed on top, wobbled precariously, but it would work.

Taking in a breath of the clear, icy air, Wesley closed her eyes to think. No ticking, no minute hand, a pointer instead of the hour hand, and a N, and a N/E, and a E, and S/E, and a S, and a S/W, and a W, and a N/W, and…and… and what else? What else could she possibly add that hadn’t been done before? What else were compasses? Think Wesley. What would Headboy Dominic do? What would Sarah do? What would Lori-

Pink and Sparkly, The thought entered her head, complete with the proper matching voice, and Wesley laughed, giggles spilling out behind the striped scarf.

Now, how to accomplish it…would Comletia cover a complete color change? Wesley seriously doubted so, but, why not? She would make the letters into lowercase, just in case it didn’t work.

Image in her head, the Hufflpueff waved her wand up, down, left, right, in a circle, and finally, down in a jab. “Comletia!”

Wesley was unable to see if the watch had turned sparkly, however, because her jab sent it teetering over the post and into the snow on the other side. Scrambling onto her stomach, the 6th year lay on the packed ground and fished for her creation. Grasping something very compass-like, she pulled her arm back, and it was with a mix of happiness and disappointment that she stared at what was indeed a compass – but not pink. Or glittery.

Biting her bottom lip, the teenager moved into a sitting position and angled it so the needle was in line with the N. Even with all the trees blocking her sight, she could recognize it was wavering in the direction of the corridor where she had began, and therefore, probably the library.

Yes, she sighed to herself, it was working. Returning the compass back to a watch, Wesley stood back up and walked towards the courtyard.

One left to go.

Chad stared right back at the young female, whose wand he took. If it was a staring match she wanted, it was one that she would get. But then both of the girls seemed to want to play the blame game and, frankly, he didn't want to hear it.

"How about this then? Five points from Ravenclaw. Each." He gave them both a look, as if daring them to say anything more. Go on. Try him. Chad's day had been boring anyways.

What?! "I gave you no reason to hate me! You just decided that I looked like a good person to pick on just because I was having a terrible day!" She exclaimed. She was an easy target that day, and of course that had to be the day she met Enya.

Ellie rolled her eyes at Enya. "Oh yeah right. You just don't want to get in trouble." She scoffed. Ellie told the truth and she knew that Enya knew it. She was just to chicken to admit it.

Five points taken from Ravenclaw, each?! Ellie couldn't believe what she was hearing. "What? That's it?! She deserves to go to Tate for this!" She exclaimed at the Groundskeeper. "She petrified my whole dodging arm, for Merlin's sake!" She whirled around to show Stryker her arm, stiff as a log, hanging dead down her side. Sheesh, it was getting heavy...

Caroline walked along the pathway with her new friend. It was a light breeze and the sun made it warmer. "So what kind of things are you into? she asked. She gave him a big sweet smile. this time she was only asking one question at a time. She noticed many people on the pathways was busy for the time of day. As she walked she pulled her hair back in a ponytail, the light breeze was messing her hair up, something that she couldn't stand.

"Alright then, another ten points lost and I will be informing your Head of House, Professor Vindictus, about this." He swirled his wand again, muttering Finite Incantatem at her arm to remove the spell the other student casted.

"Anything else? I have a nice pile of dragon manure compost that you guys can dig through..."

Zander was a bit shocked that the pathways seemed to be fairly busy. Snow still covered most of the grounds, he was thankful he had his silver and green Slytherin scarf around his neck. He and Caroline continued down the pathways , gradually the amount of people dropped. " Would it be too boring if i said something obvious like quidditch ? " he said with a slight laugh. He noticed an annoyed look sweep across her face as her hair was getting messed up in the winter breeze " Advantage of having short hair " he said with a smirk and he rubbed the top of his head " always stays exactly how you want it "

The snow was beginning to get a little thicker on the ground, he figured that not many people had wondered down this far, he glanced across at Caroline " to be honest, your pretty much the first person I've spoken to at Hogwarts .. properly "

Caroline walk thur the snow covered pathays. She wasn't much of a winter girl. The only good thing about the season was ice skating, snowball fights and snowman. She smiled"No, I love quidditch" quidditch was awesome. she smiled at the fellow slytherin, when he mentioned about the advanage of having short hair. Oh gosh she would look terrrible with short. Her mouth drop, seriously why he seemed like a cool guy"Well I'm honored to be your first proper Convesation here" She grinned at the boy "What is your favorite class?"

He stopped at a large tree and leaned up against it, the snow was getting thicker down this end of the Pathways. He smile at her as she said she liked Quidditch " yeah , well who doesn't? Do you support a particular team ? " Zander himself was a Holyhead Harpies fan, and not because it was a team full of witches either ! .

Zander laughed slightly as she said that she was honoured " ive not been here that long, im hoping my stays a bit longer than my other schools tho " . He shrugged at the favourite class question " to be honest Caroline, im not that smart " a small smirk formed on his face " allthough i do enjoy History of Magic ... " he expected her to turn her nose up , or make a remark about that, alot of people didnt appriciate History of Magic. " how about you ? "

Caroline stopped as Zander stopped and leaned against the tree she stood in front of him. She nodded right who doesn't love quidditch. "I love Ireland and the Holyhead Harpies" she hope that he would be staying longer to, but she dared not say it to him, not now. He was very handsome. She blushed. "I hope you do too." she said pretty fast. "I love Charms and Potions the best." She couldn't resist the idea of starting and snowball fight at that moment. She scooped put some snow and balled it up in her hand and grinned at the boy.

Zanders face lit up when she mentioned she supported the Harpies " woah me too, Holyhead Harpies " this was great, hed never met another Harpies fan before ..well outside of a match anyway " Some people think its a bit odd, a dude supporting an all witch team.... but there the most local team to where i live now " . He was too concentrated on the fact hed met another Harpies fan to catch what Caroline next blurted out, she was also blushing , a small voice in the back of his head said " girls are odd" .

" Potions " he repeated with a tired look " i know whol ill be sitting next to in class then " he said with a wink before adding " im awful at potions " it was true, he wasnt great in any lesson really but potions had to be the worst. Well when he first spoke to her , he was worried he would get pelted with pancakes , now it seemed like he was going to be pelted but with snow, hes hands were deep in his pockets, he looked from the snowball in her hand up to her face " ah so thats your game eh " Zander glanced up above Caroline, he saw a branch covered in snow, baring in mind that inside his pocket was his wand .... but to do that would just be a little bit evil.

Caroline was suprised to hear the he also liked the Holyhead Harpies. Cool. "I really don't think that weird I'd say its topical male behavior" She laughed. It was true. Every time she told someone that she was good a potions they always said that they need to sit beside her, She was used to it "Sure go ahead"she smiled. At least she would have something good to look at during the class.

Caroline nodded. Yep all this snow, made her crave a good old snowball fight. She threw it but missed him by a bit. uh oh She knew that she was in trouble now. She had started it, and now it would be hard to get out of it. She giggled.

He couldnt help but laugh at her male behaviour comment " thats the thing tho, its purely Quidditch based reasons " .Zander was on a role here , he now had someone to sit next to in the next Potions lesson, not that he had any idea when that was .. " you know im going to hold you to that right ? " he said with a grin.

Woooaaaah hold on, that snowball nearly hit ! . This was hardly fair she could have given him fairer warning than that, well now this meant war. Carloine was backing off after missing him, Zander stooped down to ball up some snow " your in for it now " he said with menace as he threw the snowball towards her, he had a fairly good aim and the snowball hit her right on the shoulder, well she now had snow in her hair, Zander stuck his tounge out at her.

She nodded. about the purely quidditch reasons her foot. But she nodded politely anyway. She douted that, anyway. Caroline smiled at the boy but then frowned a bit, Don't go there She thought to herself don't even think about it. She nodded "Yeah, ok" She rasised her eyebrows when He said that she wa in for it now. She laughed. Then a snowball hit her shoulder and got all in her hair. It was on now. She picked up some snow and balled it up again. She threw it again. This it hit him square in his chest. she laughed harder this time, She got ready to make another one because she knew It was a full in snowball fight.

Oh jeeze a girl who could throw ?! this was the last thing he was expecting when he woke up today , hes robes now had little speckles of white all over them ... joy. He saw her out of the corner of his eye balling up snow, so he had to be quick , he managed to make a ball and throw it in her direction , this one hit her as she was stooped down balling up snow. He laughed and went to duck behind the tree. Shes got nice eyes he thought to himself , but shook himself together , thoughts like that would resort to something horrid like a snowball to the face ! . " wanna give up yet ? " he mocked as he appeared from behind the tree, snowball in hand again

Caroline got hit while she was relaoding, how fair is that? When he went behind the tree. She tiptoed over closer to the tree but not too close. When he jumped out behind the tree it made her jump. As she jumpped up she threw the snowball and hit him again. "Nope" She said shaking her head. She ran for the nearest tree and hid behind it, quickly making another snowball waiting for him.

Gah ! he didn't like the whole .. lets hit Zander with snowballs vibe that was taking over here. He noticed her duck behind a tree. He balled up some snow and darted across to the other side of the pathway, he hoped Caroline didn't see that. As silently as he could he tiptoed towards the tree she was hid behind, but because he had crossed the path , he was coming from behind her.

This surely was a bit evil ... from behind " boo ! " he said loudly from behind her laughing slightly " i err, didnt have the heart to sneak attack you " he said with a slight grin. Woah this was actually really fun... well the whole spending time with Caroline thing... not the fact that his robes were now wet across the chest where the snow had melted.
