| | The Office of Professor Sylvie-Renée Welton As you first enter Professor Welton’s office, you will notice not much has changed in the office. The office walls were still the very same dark mahogany panelling and the floor the same slightly lighter variation of flooring. The antique French Aubusson rug centred on the floor is a bit more worn as Xander and Josette had taken a liking to running amok during office hours. The pair of comfy armchairs atop the rug, very similar to the Victorian chaise outside the office, were pristine as always.
A set of bookshelves, full of random history tomes and books, are noticeable in one corner of the room, near a fireplace. There is also a small spiral staircase beside the fireplace, which leads up to yet more bookshelves. If any student was in need of anything related to history, muggle or wizard, one of these bookshelves would possible have it or would at least guide them in the right direction.
Located just opposite the fireplace and angled ever so slightly is a rather large desk. It almost over powers the professor, but atop it is neatly placed stacks of books and parchment. A tiny nameplate is situated in the middle of the desk and a single newly filled picture frame just to the right. A lone high-backed chair sits in front of the desk and behind the desk is a map of the world.
The only real new addition to the office are the freshly filled and new picture frames scattered throughout the room and atop random flat surfaces. OCC: Please remember that you need to be invited in before you may post here. |

Sylvie blinked for a second as she heard the words coming from Destiny. A small smirk formed on her lips, before she couldn't hold it any longer and let out a small giggle.
Jeremy had spiders in his hair! That was a funny vision for sure. "Well, if that is why you want a sample." she replied, after getting herself under control. "I think I could possibly help. I'm just assuming you need human hair and I'm just the next option, as Professor Zookara's hair might have traces of spider hair, correct?" Again the thought of spiders in Jeremy's hair made her want to laugh.
Reaching for the scissors, she pulled a small strain of hair over her shoulder. Reaching the scissors to her hair, she looked to Destiny again. "But seriously, Destiny. What are you going to do with this sample?" An eyebrow slowly raised when she heard Professor Welton giggle. Yes, the Professor was giggling because she knew that Professor Zookara had spiders in his hair. At least, that's what Destiny thought it was for. Of course there could have been a totally different reason for the giggle; like Professor Welton could have been the CAUSE of Zookara's spiders. But, the reason behind the giggle was not important.
What was important was the hair that the woman had not put into the vial yet.
Oh! She was going to help her! Sweet! Destiny was glad that she had went to this Professor instead of..let's say..Lafay. Even though, deep down, Destiny was Professor Lafay's favorite student. She did put pebbles in her shoes and set her ablaze. A sign of friendship! "Right. Human hair. Besides, if Zookara has spiders in his hair, you know what else is in there, right?" It doesn't take a genius to figure that one out.
A grin (or was that a smirk!?) appeared on her face as she watched Welton grab the scissors and hold them up to her hair. She was tempted to drum her fingers together in an evil manner, but decided to save that for after the hair was cut. Which was still not happening. Gah! The questioning. "I will tell you what I am going to do with it IF you promise not to tell Professor Zookara I know about the spiders in his hair."

Simon smiled at the Professor. "Yeah, I am a Prince from a small country called Hollian." Simon wondered what to say next, but then the Professor said something and Simon sighed. "If you say so Professor." Simon sighed. he really hoped that he would. "I know she wouldn't Professor." Simon said but why did he have to come back to school with his cousin missing and now he had lost a friend in Fee. Sylvie again frowned and wanted to give the Hufflepuff a hug, but she held back for the moment. She could clearly see the pain he was in, but she needed to think clearly about what she was doing. "It's normal to be scared Simon." she voiced softly. "Fear is a nature emotion and we as humans will always be scared in some aspect." Yes, she understood why his felt the way he did, but it wasn't wise for him to rush in and try to help. She was going to have a very hard time convincing him of that, so she would just have to let that rest for now. "Hollian. Yes, I remember you mentioning it last term." she smiled and nodded. Hollian was small but she did remember it and did vaugly recall passing through it once in her travels. Pulling her thoughts back to the conversation, she sighed and folded her hands before her. "Well, we can't change the past but you can change the future. I say you go talk to Fee and move from there." she suggested. Quote:

Sylvie managed to keep her giggles at bay as she held the scissors to her hair and listened to what was said. Raising her brow again, she let a smirk form on her lips. Destiny did always manage to say some of the most amusing things and the sheer fact that everything that came from the She-Snakes mouth was rather odd and strange, only amused Sylvie more.
Shaking her head slightly, she snapped a small amount of hair and placed the scissors back in her drawer.
Holding the small snippet of her hair between her fingers, she looked back to Destiny and smirked. "Well, I do believe we have a deal Destiny. I will not tell Professor Zookara about said spiders."
Why she would ever mention it to Jeremy was beyond her. Of course, she wouldn't be able to look at him the same way now though. Visions of spiders in his hair would probably haunt her thoughts for a while, but a good laugh here and there would be nice for her.
Reaching for the vial, she waited for an answer. |

Spider poo. That's what else was in Professor Zookara's hair. The fact that Professor Welton didn't bother answering the question about that, Destiny figured the woman already knew. She had to be smart and all, to teach one of the most boring hardest subjects ever.
Putting spiders and their poo aside when the Professor actually CUT a piece of her hair, Destiny stared at the little snippet in between the woman's fingers. That was hair alright and they seemed to have a deal. Professor Zookara would not be told about his spiders. Not that Destiny cared if he had spiders there or not. It was his hair, she just didn't want to be blamed for putting them there. "Well, you see I was going to.. wait, you're not wearing a wig are you? That is your real hair, right?"
Gah! She should have asked that question first!

Oh that just made her laugh now.
Shaking her head, Sylvie let out a giggle. "I can assure you that I have never worn a wig, Destiny."
Wigs were never her thing and the thought of it was something she would never do.
Shaking the vial slightly, she smiled and handed it over. "Yes, this is absolutely my real hair. Pretty hair runs in my family and I would never try to fool anyone with any kind of intimation." |

Destiny found that hard to believe. Everyone wore a wig at least once in their life. At least she thought so. "So, you never wore a wig on Halloween?" Unless Professor Welton was one of those people that were deprived of the Halloween celebrations which meant that she probably never had chocolate which explained why she pulled out a dish of peppermint toads instead of chocolate frogs!
Hair talk can really tell a lot about a person.
Glancing at the hair-fulled vial as the Professor shook it, Destiny slowly reached for it just in case she wasn't really going to hand it over. Old people tricks. Destiny knew them all. Once the vial was in her hand, though, she might have mwahaha'ed a little before giving the woman a smile. "Oh yes, your hair is pretty. What kind of shampoo do you use?"
She was only trying to distract her from the reason why she needed the hair. But, she really did want to know what kind of shampoo she used.
She'd send Professor Zookara a bottle of it.

She'd send Professor Zookara a bottle of it. Sylvie shook her head. Wigs were just not her thing. "Nope, I usually just left my hair the same or my mum would glamour it," she explained. Maybe the use of a wig would have been more particular, but the thought of placing something like that on her head never appealed to her.
Giving the She-Snake a small look at hearing what could have been a mwahaha, she shook her head and smiled. "Thank you, I do try to keep it that way. I use a combination of some muggle shampoo and some stuff from Madame Primpernelle's. Plus I brush it at least twice a day and I don't use anything that is too unnatural in it. No rubber bands or elastics, they only pull at your hair. Only soft things are used to tie it up and maybe a sticking charm to reinforce things."
Hair talk. When was the last time she ever did this? Far too long, but it was a nice change and it almost made her forget what questions on her mind. "I'll have to get the names of the products for you Destiny. But, you know I still want to know what use my hair will be." she asked again.
Noticing that the Slytherin still hadn't taken a peppermint toad. She shook her head ever so slightly. "I'll make you another deal. I see you don't seem to like my dark chocolate peppermint toads and I'm out of chocolate frogs, if you tell me why you needed my hair, I'll give you something better than a chocolate frog." she offered.
Pulling back her chair slightly, she reached back into her desk drawer and pulled out a box. Setting the box down, she opened it and recover the wrapped treat inside, setting it on the desk before her. Slowly unwrapping it, she looked back to Destiny and smiled. "What do you say?"

a Cauldron Cake?!?! Oh, well, that was good. Destiny didn't want Professor Welton to be deprived of Halloween and Trick or Treating. Missing out on all that candy that she could get for FREE!? It would be horrible. "I usually just pick costumes that don't need a wig." Like her Sherlock Holmes costume and her bumblebee costume!
Merlin. She wished she could dress up everyday.
Something she never thought she would talk about with a Professor was hair. Unless you count telling Professor Marcus Lawson about his bald spot..
Nodding as the woman spoke, Destiny put on a smile, like she was really interested in what she was saying. Well, she was just a little bit all up until she mentioned brushing her hair TWICE a day. The muggle shampoo, she could do, but brushing it twice!? Too much! Mentally scoffing at that idea, she didn't bother taking note of not wearing rubber bands or elastics. Destiny's hair wasn't long enough for them anyway.
And it all seemed like Welton forgot about her original question.
Opening her mouth to release another mwahaha, she closed it quick when the question was brought up..again. What was it going to take for the woman to forget about it!? But, before she had to answer, another deal was brought to the table. Quite literally in fact.
And boy did that thing look good!
Evelyn would not be too pleased about this. Not at all. Which was one of the main reasons Destiny shook her head. Yup, she wanted that cauldron cake. With her eyes never leaving the cauldron cake, she spoke. "I am making a voodoo doll."
CANIHAVETHECAKENOW, PLEASE!?

CANIHAVETHECAKENOW, PLEASE!? Sylvie laughed softly. "That's what I usually did myself. Wigs look so itching." It was true. They just didn't seem right to her and then she would wonder just where the wig came from and that would just open up a whole new can of worms for her. It was just best to avoid them all together.
Noticing the way Destiny looked at cauldron cake, she smirked a little. She would have to keep in mind to have more of them on hand in the future.
Reaching for a peppermint toad, her eyes got big as the answer left Destiny's lips. Taking a moment to blink, she shook her head. A voodoo doll?!?! That was completely surprised her. She hadn't even been thinking something like that. Maybe a potion or maybe it was for another class, but a voodoo doll?
Wait, why would her hair be needed? "Destiny, should I be concerned that my hair will be used for a voodoo doll? I mean, if my hair is part of the doll it would be connected to me."
Had she somehow offended the She-Snake and this was a way for her to get her revenge? No, she was almost positive that she hadn't done anything to wrong the young Snake. Yet, she had mentioned that she was going to ask Jeremy for his hair before.
Again she was intrigued. Sliding the cake closer to Destiny, she nodded for her to take it. "What are you going to use this voodoo doll for? I'm rather interested to hear this." |

It was kinda scary that Destiny and a Professor, someone who was OLD, could have something in common. Sure, it was only something as little as not wanting to wear wigs, but still..
Professor Welton was OLD.
That would be like having something in common with Grandmum Tole and Merlin. That woman was battier than a bat and to have something in common with her would mean Destiny was just as batty! Smiling despite her sudden uncomfortableness, she kept her eyes on that cauldron cake. If she could will it closer with her eyes, the thing would have been zooming towards her at top speed.
Only when the old lady Professor spoke again did she tear her eyes from the cake. Should Welton be concerned? Destiny had no idea. She had no idea what she herself should be concerned about, so how was she supposed to know what a Professor should be concerned about? It was all just so confusing and making her head hurt. "I guess so." she said, giving a little shrug. It was an answer that always got her parents to stop talking, maybe it would work here in school.
And yet another question!
Merlin, how many did this Professor have? Destiny felt like she was taking one of those oral exams and with the answers she gave, she was so failing. "What am I going to use the voodoo doll for? Performing voodoo, of course."
I can haz chocolate, now?

I can haz chocolate, now? Even though Destiny always seemed to keep her on her toes, Sylvie was becoming a bit more concerned by the moment. She did remember what is was like to be Destiny's age. She was only 30 after all and that was only some 14-15 years ago.
Attempting to hide her concern more, she drummed her fingers against her desk and tilted her head in thought slightly. "I'm just asking because being connected to said doll could possible lead to some trouble for me. Unpleasant things could happen to me and I'm not one to like that. Well, at least I don't enjoy unpleasant things to happen to me, others I'm more tolerant to, but myself not so much." Self-preservation and all. Perhaps she would be concerned about others more than she let on, but at the moment it was her hair after all.
Laughing a bit at her answer, she shook her hair. "Of course, voodoo. How could I be so silly."
Why the She-Snake was at all interesting in voodoo, Sylvie was not even going to ask. She would just let it slide for now. "Okay, I will allow this. Why, I'm not at all sure. I do trust you, Destiny. My hair is yours to do as you please with your voodoo doll." Again, she wasn't sure why she trusted her so, but she did.
Pushing the cake more in front of the girl, Sylvie smiled. "The cake is yours in good health and hope that nothing ill-fated or unpleasant shall happen to me." |

She wasn't expecting anyone today, but visitors to her office were always welcome. |

She wasn't expecting anyone today, but visitors to her office were always welcome. Jacob tried to smile through the stress that was taking over him, and probably all the other fifth years. "I'm...... alright" if you could call what he was feeling, alright.
Now his question, " Professor, I heard that the Goblin Rebellions were a large part of the OWLs. I was wondering if you could explain them further." he liked to be ahead, and this would help him get ahead. "What exactly were they looking for, and how it really happened." jacob waited for her response.
