Upon entering the office, most people are surprised at its appearance. It looks nothing like what you would expect inside Hogwarts, with soft green walls and light woods floors. The heavy wooden furniture could possibly work, but then you're drawn to the charmed doors. They don't lead anywhere except to a long drop from the tower, but as you look at them, it seems like they do. Professor Bishop likes the look of gardens and such, and this brings them to her when she's not actually outside. Inside the many shelves and cubbyholes of the desk and other furniture are mementos from the professor's travels and her life before she came to Hogwarts, but her prized possession is the delicately inlaid wooden box set on the corner of the desk. This is where she keeps all her writings, and is most likely where she has the rough draft for her next novel.
Comfortable chairs are set on the rug, facing the desk, for students or other visitors, and across from that is a large bookshelf containing any manner of books on Divination, sets of Tarot cards, oracle cards, and other items that can be used in the subject. In one of the corners nearest the "doors" stands an elegant stand where Anastasia, the professor's pet phoenix, can most likely be found, and on the floor next to the desk is a cushion for her crup puppy, Bowie.
Once you are invited in, feel free to take a seat, pet Bowie, or look around. Just don't touch anything unless you are given express permission to do so. Professor Bishop is very particular about her belongings.
ooc: Please do not post in here unless you have posted in the corridor thread first and been invited inside. (or have otherwise been given permission) Thank you.
Vadoma skipped happily into the office, the bangles on her ankles still making a happy tinkling sound. Her feet were, as usual for the past summer, bare. She hoped it would not offend the professor since she kept her feet impeccably clean.
"OH!" Vadoma said when she saw the crup puppy, "Do you mind if I pet...?" She said, stopping short because she didn't know the name of the pup. Vadoma loved animals, in fact she had three pets, two of which had stayed in the Romani village with her aunt.
Vadoma suddenly realized she had not introduce herself to the professor yet and shot up realizing her rudeness at going straight for the pup. "Sorry, professor, My name is Emily Moonfield, but if you do not mind I prefer to be called Vadoma." She said smiling, she half hoped that she wouldn't ask why she prefered to be called Vadoma, but then again Vadoma LOVED telling the story but of course why would the professor even care?
Vadoma flipped her wild, long, brown hair over her shoulder. Just a few short hours ago her hair had been blonde, but there was a wand accident up in the girl dormitory just a few minutes previous to her coming to the office.
Preston went in after the other student, letting the girl go first into the office. Once in the office, Preston was quite sure what to do so he stood there as he looked around with his hands shoved into his pockets. He hadn't been in many of his Professors' offices before, but he seemed that this one was probably one of the most comfortable ones. Beside's Healer Miss More, but then again, she wasn't a professor...she was the head Healer.
Preston listened to, Vadoma? as she spoke, clearly excited to see the Professor's crup puppy. Preston stood back where he was and gave a goofy grin, still not sure what to do or what to say.

As the two students filed in, Renée couldn't help but raise an eyebrow momentarily as she noticed the girl wasn't wearing any shoes. She couldn't imagine that was very warm, given the stone floors and everything, even as she didn't really mind it. Especially as at least she had a rug on the floor. She worried about her students, but in the same respect, she knew they had their idiosyncracies. The jingling bangles were another thing, however, as they attracted the attention of Bowie. The puppy broke free from her restraining foot and started bouncing toward the girl animatedly, occasional quiet yips escaping as he was noticed and a slight tilted head glance at the other newcomer as he noticed him as well.
"Of course," she said, waving off the apology. "No offense taken, Miss Moonfield. Vadoma," she added, a bit of a curious look in her dark eyes. "You're welcome to pet Bowie. He loves the attention." Unlike Anastasia in the corner. As far as she could tell, the phoenix was asleep, or at least pretending to be. "That's an interesting name you've given yourself, by the way. Your given name is beautiful on it's own," she said then, conversationally. It seemed the girl was a bit torn about the issue. Wanting to tell the story, but also not, and Renée felt like humoring her.
While that conversation was paused for the moment, she turned to look at the Hufflepuff boy. And smiled as she saw him simply standing there goofily and extremely quietly. "Feel free to make yourself comfortable, Mr . . .?," she said to him, indicating the waiting chairs with a glance as she headed over to her own desk chair and made herself comfortable. Might as well, as she had a feeling she was in for a story or two. At least from Miss Moonfield, if not from the Hufflepuff. Neither one had really said the reason for their visit, unless it was a simple case of getting to know the new professors.

Neither one had really said the reason for their visit, unless it was a simple case of getting to know the new professors.
Vadoma smiled and pet the crup pup, slightly amused by that rhyme, who she now knew was named Bowie. "Well professor my name sort of has to do with why I am here to speak with you." Vadoma smiled at the professor and turned her attention away from Bowie to give the professor her full attention.
"Well my mother was adopted into a Romani family, you may know them beter called Gypsies, and well my aunt is the main divination expert for the Romani village. Now she is rather old, so because my mother was one of her favourite great-nieces, not sure how many greats that are involved here because my aunt is rather old and a lot of the people in the village have children at young ages, she contacted me and told me that I was going to become her apprentice and soon become the 'knowing one' as they call it in the village. This is why they gave me my Romani name Vadoma which means one who knows or the knowing one." Vadoma smiled, one breath explanations really were her specialty.
Vadoma took in a deep breath and smiled, "Now what this all has to do with why I am here it is because before this happened, in first and second year, I was already great at divination here and school and now I am learning divination on the job over the summers and on vacations that I think I may be beyond a fifth year level." Vadoma hoped all of this made sense and that the professor could give her some insight to what Vadoma thought might be a problem.
Preston watched with a smile as the pup started to bounce toward the girl, it was a rather cute animal, though most animals didn't quite like him. Preston turned back towards the professor, momentarily forgetting her name. "T-Turner. P-Preston T-T-Turner." He said flashing another goofy smile at her.
"I-I w-w-wanted t-to come intro-introduce m-myself." He told her nodding his head a couple of times as he moved to take a seat in one of the chairs in front of the desk. "I-I r-r-really l-liked D-D-Divi-Divination l-last y-year." He told her, hoping to spark some type of conversation.

Seated at her desk, Renée idly ran a finger along the inlay of the wooden box on its surface as she listened to the two students talk. At least she'd gotten the Hufflepuff boy to actually speak, although she somewhat understood his earlier reticence. It might not have just been new professor nervousness. Glancing at the girl as she petted Bowie, she nodded at the initial explanation. "Ah," she replied, before her attention went back to the boy. And smiling as he made his way to a chair.
"Well, it's nice to meet you, Preston Turner. I'm Professor Bishop," she said gently and in a friendly tone. As far as she remembered, there hadn't been any official introductions during the feast, beyond her conversation with Jared and the incident with Miss Stone and Mr Lockhart. So it was possible he didn't know her name yet. And she sent him a little nod as he continued speaking, folding her hands on her desk to keep from idly fidgeting. "I hope I don't let you down, then. It's good to know." Back to that comment about her filling Professor Reynolds's shoes, in a way. She did hope the students enjoyed her lessons, once they began.
Then she turned back to Vadoma as the girl abandoned the petting to continue her explanation and earned a quite pathetic look from Bowie, handily keeping up with the words as they spilled out of the girl. "I see," she said with a nod. "As a matter of fact, I am familiar with the Romani. I spent some time with them years ago," she continued. There had been no way she wasn't about to explore that angle while she'd been traveling, and the people had been rather helpful to her. Swiveling in her chair, she slid over to the shelves behind it and took a small box down before returning to the desk and heading over to the girl. "I'd imagine you're familiar with these then," she said, opening the box to show one of her prized possessions, an antique set of Tarot cards that had been a gift after her visit. "While I can't assure that you won't find some of the things I include in my lessons simplistic, since I do have to make it so everyone understands, you can always feel free to explore slightly more advanced aspects. Try to keep with the topic under discussion, though, and always run it by me first," she recommended, closing the box again and setting it on her desk carefully before leaning against it. "Either one of you should always feel free to speak with me if you have concerns. I'm always open to student suggestions," she concluded, giving them both a smile. Her door was always open.

Vadoma smiled when she saw the antique Tarot cards, "What a lovely set those are! I have my own with me..." Vadoma smiled and pulled out her tarot cards which were wrapped in silk she unraveled the silk and produced them, "These have been in my family for a very long time... they are rather old but we keep them in excellent condition." Vadoma smiled showing the professor the Cards.
SPOILER!!: someofthecards
"A fairly standard deck design I am sure you are familiar with." Vadoma gazed on her cards with love, people in her family had touched them for many many years and she could almost feel their positive energies radiating from the cards.

Preston gave Professor Bishop his trademark goofy smile that showed both his top and bottom teeth. "I-It's g-g-great t-to h-have y-you P-Profess-Proffessor B-Bishop h-here at Hog-Hogwarts." Preston told her nodding his head up and down a few times. "I-I'm s-sure y-you'll d-d-do f-fine M-M-Miss." He told her, he was sure that all of the new professors, the whole lot of them, where going to be just fine at their teaching jobs. Preston just hoped that he could keep up with their lessons.
"Wh-what's y-your f-f-favorite p-part a-a-about D-Divi-Divination?" He asked the Professor next, Preston wasn't even sure what his favorite part of the subject was, but he was interested in what the professor had to say about the subject.

Renée smiled as Miss Moonfield, or Vadoma, as she reminded herself the girl had asked to be called, complimented the set. Even as it seemed she'd only recognized their age and quality, not the story behind them. That was okay, as it wasn't like she expected her students to know everything. Not the way she did, often. Divination skill always helped, though. She leaned forward again as it seemed the girl produced a set of her own. "Ah, yes. Of course," she said with a nod, perusing the deck. "Connections like that are key to really understanding the deck. Understanding the energies the cards hold," she added, going back to her previous upright position. "I collect sets, actually. The one I showed you was just a particular favorite of mine. Not even just Tarot , but the whole concept is fascinating." Any sort of oracular cards had their own stories to tell, and she'd found they could be extremely different given the set. "You should continue to keep them safe, but I imagine you don't need me telling you that." She smiled again. Miss Vadoma seemed to really have a grasp on the idea, but then that went to show for her training.
Preston was another interesting one, and she glanced at the boy with another smile as he spoke up again. That grin was hard not to respond to, anyway. "Why thank you. I always like knowing somebody has faith in me," she said, lightly crossing her arms as Bowie came over to curl himself up on his bed by her feet. She laughed softly at the question she was posed, however, tilting her head slightly as she contemplated both her answer and the boy who had asked. It seemed even with the faith, tough questions were still possible. "Hmm, I think the interpretations. I mean, you can see the pretty pictures, the symbols, but actually being able to figure out what they mean," she finally said. Divination wasn't all gorgeously decorated cards, crystal balls and the like. It took some thought, and that was a skill she liked. Not to mention it was always interesting separating the interpretations from everything else she might be privy to.

Preston nodded his head she spoke. He hadn't quite thought about it in that sense. But it made it made some sense to him. He could see how it was a favorite for the professor, it took skill and practice to be able to make a good interpretation. Preston opened his mouth to say something...but closed it instead, he wasn't for sure how to continue on the conversation about Divination when he himself barely knew what he had done the previous year at school.
"Wh-where d-d-did you c-come f-f-from, if y-you d-d-don't m-mind m-my a-asking." Preston asked Professor Bishop as he changed the subject, but he felt like he might be swimming into deep waters. He wasn't for sure if she would speak of where she came from before she settled into Hogwarts to teach.

Vadoma smiled, "If you don't mind me asking, professor, but why is that particular set of cards one of your favorites?" Vadoma always like to know why they were someones favorites. Vadoma's family had many sets of cards but she had chosen these ones to have for her very own because they were the oldest, more people had touched them. She loved it when loving and new people touched her cards.
"I love tarot, it's one of my favorite forms of divination, but then again it's not the only thing I have been learning." Vadoma smiled and removed a small pouch on a string that was around her neck and she opened it to reveal an antique rune set, "Now I know this would be of more interest to the ancient runes professor, however I use these more for their divination aspect." Vadoma smiled. She preferred to keep her Tarot cards and runes with her to soak up her good energies.
Ellie thrust the door to Professor Meanie-Head-Reyn-Replacer's office. She was HERE. And no need to knock, or so she felt, she WAS invited after all.
And....this room was SO different.
Wibble.
So Bishop thought she could replace Reyn AND do whatever she wanted with his office?! That infuriated Ellie. And made her sad. She was just a ball of negative emotions.
She threw herself onto on of the kinda comfortable chairs...Reyn's were MUCH more comfy. And she crossed her arms over her chest.

As Preston thought about her answer, Renée simply watched. Not doing anything, especially as she could tell he was really contemplating something or other, just watching. It was always interesting seeing her students thinking about things, and a faint smile crept onto her face as she realized she was really starting to feel like they were her students. Like this wasn't really temporary. She liked the feeling, and regarded the Hufflepuff curiously as he opened and shut his mouth, then came up with a slightly unexpected question.
"Where did I come from? Recently, or ever?," she asked, leaning against her desk again and making sure to avoid Bowie's bed. "Before returning here, I taught in New York. But I've always felt more like I'm from here," she answered honestly. She didn't think he really was asking about everywhere she'd been, or even her full CV. His curiosity was commendable, however, as long as it was true interest. Her encounters earlier at the feast had affected her a little, even if she hadn't wanted them to.

A light laugh escaped Renée as she encountered yet another question, asked so very tentatively, and she turned her attention to vadoma with a smile. "I don't mind at all. That set is one of my favorites simply because it was a gift. From people who taught me a lot," she replied. The girl should understand that, as it had been most of their conversation. Every set of cards had their own energies, and the more positive they were, the better the set seemed to work. At least, going about Divination in a positive manner. She imagined there were people out there who weren't quite as careful. That always happened.
"It's one of mine as well," she continued, as the girl spoke about Tarot as her favorite. It was certainly her specialty, but not everything. "Learning many forms helps expand your horizons, though. Expand your capabilites." An eyebrow arched delicately as it seemed Vadoma had more to show her, however, and she shifted position once again to take a look. "Those are beautiful. I'd imagine quite irreplaceable as well," she said, before nodding. "Yes, runes and divination are similar, although not interchangeable. I think the professor would enjoy getting to look at those, however," she continued. Then out of the corner of her eye she saw Anastasia ruffle her feathers, and her attention faltered. Something had disturbed the phoenix.

ooc: Things for Preston and Vadoma in here as well. *nods*
It seemed that question was about to be answered, though, as seconds later Miss Stone stormed in, and Renée returned to her desk serenely as Bowie woke up with a quiet woof. "Please, make yourself at home, Miss Stone," she said, unaffected by the continued sour attitude. She did imagine the others in her office would be, so she looked at the two again apologetically. "Perhaps we can continue our conversations a bit later, as it seems I'm needed," she said to them, . "It was nice meeting you, Preston, Vadoma. I look forward to seeing you in my classes. If one of you could please tell anyone who might be waiting outside that I'll be with them as soon as possible?"
Hopefully things could get ironed out sooner rather than later. She wasn't about to get her hopes up, though. Disappointment was difficult to work through, when somebody didn't choose to.

Ellie glared at Bishop and wrinkled her nose. She WOULD make herself at home, thank you very much, but she didn't need her permission to do so.

The third year eyed the other students and flinched at the 'woof'.
Oh dear Merlin! If whatever woofed softened her, she would NOT survive this meeting under her original intentions.
She made a point to not look at the ground, and instead decided to focus on one of the faux doors.

Vadoma smiled, "indeed, It was a pleasure talking to you." Vadoma smiled and stood up and left the office.
I feel lame...for not posting lately, and I'm sorry too.
Forever Hufflepuff | | Always.
Preston took a deep breath. It seemed like he had hardly uttered a word and now the Professor lady was asking him to come back some other time. He wondered if she was tired of him already, but then again it might have had something to do with the student who had barged in unannounced that seemed to actually be here for some reason or another to speak with the professor.
Nodding his head slowly, Preston stood from his seat in the chair and gave Professor Bishop a sloppy grin. "I-It w-w-was n-nice m-m-meeting y-you M-m-miss." He told her before he turned to head to the door.
Upon heading for the door, Preston's foot snagged onto the rug and made him fall face first onto the Professor's floor. Containing his annoyance at himself. Preston carefully picked himself up from the floor, straightened the rug out and ducked out the office closing the door firmly behind him as softly as he could manage.

As the other two students made their way out, Renée gave them each a friendly nod, still leaning against her desk and waiting to see if she'd hear more from either Bowie or Ellie. Her eyes widened a bit as Preston tripped and did a faceplant, though, and she shifted her weight silently in case he'd need help righting himself. It seemed he managed on his own, but she still found her dark eyes following him as he got to the door. Something told her she was going to be watching him a lot, hoping he didn't hurt himself.
Either way, once the door shut, she turned her attention back to those who were actually still in her office. Namely, Anastasia, Bowie and Ellie. The phoenix had calmed down, for what it was worth. She had her face pointed away from the redheaded girl slouched in the chair and her feathers had settled down. The crup was another story, and Renée looked own as she heard a whine to see Bowie looking up at her from his bed questioningly, as if he wanted to know why the fun girl had left and if the new girl would pet him too. She shrugged slightly, as if in response to the puppy, then shifted her foot carefully to block him from charging as she noticed his puppy eyes swivel to Ellie. There would be no sabotage, and she turned her attention to the Ravenclaw herself. "Nice to see you so soon, Miss Stone," she said genially, leaning back against the desk. There was no reason to be on her guard, as they were in her territory now. "Did you get that letter sent out?"

She will not look down.
Nope.
She must resist.
Though, with the sounds she was hearing, it was getting harder. But, Ellie kept her guard and eyes up.
Letter....letter? "What letter?" She couldn't think of what Bishop meant. Not that she was trying very hard to think. She was very busy glaring and blocking the possibility of a cute animal being on the floor.

As it was down to just her, Ellie, and the animals, Renée didn't miss a beat. Even as Ellie acted like she had no idea what lettter was being talked about. Of course, it had never been mentioned outright in the first place, but that wasn't about to stop her. She knew the girl would think of it eventually. "Oh, nothing. Just a letter I thought I'd heard something about," she said idly, moving back around the desk to rummage around the shelf behind it for a moment. Leaving the crup bed unblocked, and she used the rummaging to hide her smile.
She hadn't missed how the Ravenclaw was trying her hardest not to pay attention to the noises Bowie had been making, and she was curious what would happen if he was his normal hyper puppy self.

Since Bishop hadn't gone on about something else, Ellie did actually try to think of the letter.
She had planned on writing. Two letters, to be specific. One to Reyn and one to Nia. But, of course, Bishop wouldn't know that. She'd never told her. The letters to Reyn were supposed to be about her and her awfulness. So...it'd be pretty dumb of Ellie to tell her. And Ellie was no dummy. But she was distracted the previous night thanks to James, and had not written either of the letters.
But..."Moretti said she was writing to Car," she said quickly.
That had to be what Bishop was talking about.
"Anyway, you said we were going to talk." So go on, chess piece. Talk.

It had been a bit underhanded, letting her crup loose, but it seemed the puppy was still a bit undecided as to if the newcomer in the office was good for attention or not. Either way, by the time Renée had finished her rummaging, Bowie was still curled up on his bed, occasionally letting out a soft and questioning woof as his puppy eyes went between herself and Ellie. Thinking about it, she had to admit the puppy might have a good idea, and after giving him the slightest nod she took a seat in her desk chair before returning her attention to the redheaded Ravenclaw. It seemed her words had made some sort of impact, though, because the sulking had subsided into concentration.
"True. Healer Moretti did say she was planning on writing to Professor Carlton. I can't say that would be that strange, either, as that's what friends who can't be together do. Stay in contact, that sort of thing," she said neutrally. She knew Ellie knew what letter was actually being discussed, but she also imagined the girl didn't have any idea as to how she would know about it. Not to mention the letter she herself was thinking about writing, although she'd decided to wait a bit. See if she could make any progress without it.
"I believe I said we were going to move the conversation here. Not necessarily that I was going to talk," she clarified, as the challenge was made. She wasn't about to defend her taking a job that had been available somewhat before she'd been offered it. But at least if Ellie wanted to explain herself, there was a somewhat quieter locale for it to happen in, instead of at the feast.

Friends wrote to each other? Well, yeah, no foolin'. Some professor Bishop was. Stating the obvious. Of course friends wrote to each other when they were apart. That's why Ellie was going to write to Nia and Reyn. Duh.
"I still don't know why you asked about a letter...." Did she care to explain herself at all? Or was she trying to confuse Ellie? That was just MEAN.
Evil lady.
Well...
If she wasn't going to talk... and with this being hours after the feast.... this was a bit awkward, yeah?
But Ellie wasn't about to make that obvious. Oh no, if she owned the floor, she was going to OWN it.
"Very well then. I believe I was talking at the feast, yeah?" Until Moretti went and intervened. HMPH. But, no matter, it was still her turn if they were 'continuing', yeah? Yeah.
So Ellie just went right ahead and spoke without giving much thought as to what she was saying, as if there hadn't been an extensive intermission of Moretti and the feast and the common room and sleeping and the waiting just now. Nope, none of that happened.
What were they talking about exactly? Other than replacing Reyn....Hmmmmm..... Eh, whatevs.
"You have no right to replace Reyn like that. Just strutting into the castle and taking his spot, acting smug, rearranging his office..." Ellie gestured around the room. POUT. Now, all of the sudden, she was sad again. And angry...gahhhh, they need to come up with a word for this emotion! Sangry...or...Aad...or...SOMETHING. "You didn't know him. You didn't know what he was like, or how he dressed, or what his most prized possession was or how tall he was, even! You just kicked him into the streets, didn't you? Just took the first chance you got to barge in?" Because Reyn SO could have come back. He could've. He could've convinced Ginger to let him continue teaching..or Ellie could herself. She was a ginger! They would have gotten along, she was sure! But nooooo, before Reyn even had the chance to change his mind, or Ginger to change hers, Bishop had come in as if she was wanted.... Which, Ellie felt, was a good point. "You think you're wanted here, don't you? Or needed? Well, I have news for you...Front page of the Daily Prophet says that WE," The whole school, obviously, "Don't need you. Nor do we want you. So you can magic this room back to the way Reyn had it, pack your bags, and go." HMPH.
At some point in that jumbled mess of words Ellie had gone from shouting to sobbing. Honestly, she was glad she decided on coming without Treyen. She didn't want him to see the state she was in. She didn't even want Bishop to see her. So when her speech was over, she pulled her feet up onto the chair, covering her face with her knees.
To think that a teacher she barely knew could make her break down like this...was pathetic to Ellie. But she knew it wasn't just Reyn....it was JD and Nia and probably even Becca from the year before, though she hardly knew her, and Carlton as well. Reyn was just easiest to be sad over, she supposed. More people knew him. More people would understand.
Except for Bishop, who didn't seem to understand at all.
SOB.

Tuning in to things, Renée didn't let her neutral expression falter as she got a bit more of an idea what Ellie thought of her, but she shrugged as the letter came back into focus. Namely, her idle question about the one the girl had been thinking of sending to the former professor, but she wasn't going to say anything to that effect. "Just an idle comment. No need to dwell on that," she said, just as idly. Especially as the ravenclaw seemed to take her subsequent statements as a cue to rant. Again. Although most of the previous rants had remained quiet.
It was really quite amazing how much vitriol could be in such a tiny body. Not to mention how much misunderstanding, disappointment, and all other sort of strong emotions. She could tell it wasn't actually all because of the absence of Nolan, but she also knew the misdirection and disappointment was making her the target. The comment about rearranging his office was fascinating, though. Considering it had been any number of other professors' offices before his, that argument could even have been addressed to her beloved professor. She wouldn't say anything, though. Pointing out hypocrisy wasn't the way. "I wouldn't say I replaced him. Not as a person, as that is completely impossible. I was hired to fill in after his departure, true. But he had left before I came," she said calmly, folding her hands on her desk. "Perhaps you should take it up with Headmaster Tate, if you feel the time for changing minds wasn't allowed. Or that everyone doesn't want me here." It seemed obvious to herself that the headmaster hadn't wanted the position left open on the odd chance Nolan would chose to return. Or that his reason for leaving would change to allow it. She was fairly certain she wouldn't have been hired if he'd thought she wasn't needed or wanted. "By the way, I can tell you that I know" Nolan "Professor Reynolds is very good at helping people pursue their chosen paths in life." That was definitely something she could make a sure statement about, and also was the reasoning behind her own letter plan.
As Ellie scrunched back into her chair to hide her tearstained face, Renée quietly magicked a box of tissues over to the chair, letting it rest on the floor near her feet. She wasn't entirely unfeeling, after all. She was sad that the girl was so upset over it all, and was struggling to adapt. It seemed Bowie sensed that as well, as at the sign of movement, she glanced down to see the crup puppy creeping toward Ellie with a slight whine, before coming to a stop a few feet away from the chair. The puppy was unsure, but wanted to help anyway.
"Just a quick question, and I simply ask you to humor me for a moment," she said, out of curiosity, and maybe a tiny need to point out hypocrisy. "If any other professor was in this position, other than myself or Professor Reynolds, would you still feel this way? Like Professor Descoteaux, perhaps?" Of course, she knew Jared wouldn't have come anywhere near teaching Divination, but she had a feeling his name could hit on something. And besides, Ellie hadn't heard her conversation with the Charms professor at the feast anyway.

Okay, so she'll just shrug off the letter. It didn't bother her. Ellie was much more interested in the human in the room than a letter she'd mentioned.
She heard what Bishop said about 'not taking Reyn's place', but chose to act as if she hadn't, and didn't say anything. And as for Tate? Heh. Nooooo. Tate scared her. She would not be taking anything up with him. Nope. She'll just take it up with Reyn in her letter.
Pursue chosen paths....what? Did that even make any sense?
And Ellie heard that whine. But NO. Ignoring crup. Instead, she took a tissue from the box and blew her nose with it. Drown out the puppy. It was easier that way. Otherwise, she wouldn't be able to not like Bishop. After all, who could like someone's crup, but not the person?.... Unless the crup didn't like Bishop either...and was being kept here against its will...GASP.
But since she was unsure, Ellie kept ignoring it as best as she could.
Ellie wrapped her arms around her legs and rested her chin on her knees. Wait, what did she say? What about Little Professor? "Can you rephrase that?" In english maybe? And she didn't see what Little Professor had to do with this conversation at all. All she'd caught were Reyn and Descoteaux, though. So maybe it was related? "You mean like Divination?" What?
She would humor Bishop...she supposed. If she could understand her.
