The Front Gate Strong iron gates prevent students from getting out while making sure anything unwanted stays out. Nothing stands in front except a stalk of potions newsletters freshly delivered. They can only be opened by the Professors and Staff and are always open on Hogsmeade weekends to allow for passage to the village. |
Eirian walked up to the Front Gates to Hogwarts and stared up at the wrought iron. Was it really here two years ago that she had met her best friend? Whoooaaa... That was a long time. Oh God... So many things had come full circle. She was afraid of what would happen next. Strolling forward until her nose brushed over the cold metal, Eiri turned around and sat down, pressing her back against the bars and closing her eyes as she thought. Why was she so afraid? |
Quote:
But as he drew closer to the gate, he saw a figure standing there, looking up at it. Maybe they were lost? OH! Even better, they must be insane. Walking up slowly behind them, he tapped them on the shoulder. Now, who could this be? WAAAAIT. Why did the back of her head look so familiar? "Lost, ma'am?" He asked once the name registered in his mind. |
Eiri's curled up against the gate, but h'okai xP Quote:

Mani <3 The sun shined, a dim ball of orange light, as Jared stepped into the grounds. He had no classes this morning, and he looked forward to a sojourn outside. The wind caused his black robes to flap around the knees, until he came to a leisurely, almost lazy stop by the front gate. He could see the path that led to Hogsmeade, from here. Oh, and a cat. |
Maxie ♥ Quote:
She could hear the faint meows of a feline and she only hoped it was her kitten. In fact, she really hoped Josette was playing and was in fact safe in her office. Stepping out from the shade and into the light of the sun, she shaded her eyes with one hand and moved a branch with her other. She knew the meows were close and she needed to keep her eyes open. With her head down, she hardly noticed that she wasn't alone. Stopping just short of the front gates, she finally looked up and jumped slight. If she hadn't stopped when she did, she would have surely ran directly into the person before her and that would have been rather embarrassing to say the least. "Excuse me, but have you happen to see a feline by chance?" she voiced as she moved her hand from her face and craned her neck a bit. |
How did I miss your post? *pokes side-bar* Quote:
Perhaps a colleague? "Professor Welton." He inclined his head, the action carrying his usual touch of grace, acknowledging her presence before glancing towards the sole feline he had seen, this morning. "Perhaps that is the creature you are looking for?" |
Posts are sneaky little things ^_^ Quote:
Returning his acknowledgement with a small curtsey of her own, she allowed her eye to settle on the feline he glanced at. Kneeling down, she shook her head. "Yes, I believe you have found her." she replied as the kitten ran toward her and purred innocently. "You are a little demon, you know that?" Returning to her feet, she looked back to Jared. "I must thank you, I really feared that I would be out here looking for her for hours." |
xD My baad. Buzz isn't with him :P Quote:
"Didn't think so," he replied simply. Something was.. off about her. But he wasn't completely sure what it was just yet. Sighing, the Gryffindor took a seat in front of her, and stared into her eyes. They were so pretty... "I.." She missed...? Who? With a confused expression, he was about to ask her who she meant but of course, that's when it popped up in his mind. Oops. Taking her hands in his own, he squeezed them gently. "I know you do," He spoke gently. "But you know, she's in a better place now," he added. She was probably torturing people and making them clean up or something.. but still. It was better... for her. |
Quote:
"I rather think she found me," He said, a lazy little grin on his lips. He had the sudden desire to pet the kitten's little head, but refrained from doing so. "Quite an irresistible demon at that." Yes. The kitten could take that as a compliment. "De rien. Don't mention it." He laughed, a good, almost silvery laugh. "It has been a delightful coincidence." |
Evangeline was rather intent on having explored everywhere, so now she walked down towards the front gate of the castle. She looked out past the front gate that lead towards Hogsmeade. Out of everywhere, she was looking forward to going there, the most. |

"Oh don't let her fool you, Jared." she laughed softly. "She a little demon to the core. She'll charm you with her ablity of being so cute, then once her claws are in, she'll surprise you." Yes, her little kitten was more than meets the eye. A handful to be honest, but a great judge of character as well. "Well, I owe you nonetheless. I would have been very put out if I hadn't found her," she replied as the kitten in her arms purred again. The little thing had just wanted a bit of air and new people did interest her so. Poking her head back out, the kitten looked up and purred again. "I do think she is rather taken with you." |
Quote:
"Pas de -" Jared paused, remembered to translate his thoughts into English, and offered her a mildly apologetic half-smile. "I'm sure she'd have returned. She seems fond of you." That might, Jared reflected, be because of how much time he had spent tackling and tending to creatures. He had learned to handle them, both harmless and deadly, a long time ago. He inclined his head. "I'm honoured," he said, a lazy little grin on his lips. He'd have scratched the kitten behind an ear under normal circumstances, but that might come across as impolite, right now. He glanced at the path that led away from the front gate, a mildly interested glance. "I assume you've been to Hogsmeade, mademoiselle?" He asked, green eyes genial. |
Quote:
Giving the kitten another rub behind the ear, Sylvie tilted her head slightly. "She always comes home, but I think she thinks it a game to worry me so." she sighed. The little demon was a handful for sure. She was always worried about where she would find Josette next, but still the kitten was fun to have around. "Oh, I know knew she is fond of me as much as I am of her." Turning her attention back to him, she shifted her weight from one foot to the other. "She usually doesn't take to most people, she must like you." she replied, a small smirk on her lips. Her kitten did always tend to gravitate to the most interesting things and people. Following his glance, she nodded. "As a student, I used to look forward to those trips to the village." she answered, thoughts of her times there running back in her head. "It's a quaint place, have you visited it?" |
Text Cut: Manii <3 Jared had never found a pet similar to him, but hearing Sylvie admit that she and the kitten rather reflected each other caused him to smile. "I suppose twins are only as alike as any two, random people, as far as habits are concerned," he offered, sounding politely interested. "I've heard that before," he said, grinning lazily. If he had had a goblet, he'd have lifted it to her. "Kittens are fantastic creatures." He looked at the small creature in her arms, a fond look in his green eyes. "I'm afraid I've never been able to find the time to keep a pet for a long time." He gave a light, broad-shouldered shrug. "Perhaps I should, now." Being here meant patches of rather lazy leisure. He shook his head. "I'm afraid not. I haven't been in England for that long a time. I plan to, however." He smiled faintly again. |
Quote:
Hearing that the new wasn't completely a new thing to him made her smile. He did appear to be a likeable person and it wasn't completely elost on her the attention she had seen being shown to her new colleague at the opening feast. Hearing the sound of voices again, the kitten looked up at the two and purred. "Fantastic, yes and a handful as well," she laughed softly. "Combined with my puppy, I have little time to myself outside my lessons." The constant company of her pets did make her happy, but it was lacking at times as well. "I never thought I could have the time, but you'd be surprised how things just work out." Josette wasn't difficult to care for, it was the puppy that consumed the most time. Hearing his reply, she shook her head. "Well, I'm sure you will enjoy the village soon. It's rather different for me than it was before, but I do appreciate how quaint it is now." There was a simple beauty to the place. With his mention of not having been in England long, it dawned on her that she really didn't know all that much about the man before her. |
Quote:
Oh, great. In a better place... How many times had she been told that when her mother died, then her father, then her bleeding grandmother? She hated that phrase. It was such a lie. What place was better than the world they were granted life in? "Whatever," Eirian snapped. She hadn't meant for it to be mean, but by Merlin, she was angry at Jayce! And she was angry at life for fleeing from the carcasses of all those she loved. And she was angry at herself for letting it happen. This rage had taken over her so entirely! She couldn't get rid of it for more than the moment she would gaze into the eyes of a friend or her love, the moment that she would see a loving smile meant for her. How was she so engulfed by this minor loss of hers? Perhaps it was because no one wanted her... |
Quote:
Wait what? She.. snapped at him? What had he...? Oh, right.. the feast. Merlin, it hadn't been that long ago and he had already put it in the back of his mind. But hey- seeing Thiago wasn't the light of his day. Seeing.. Eirian was. Thiago.. her.. 'Fiance' was totally not on his good side. Was it just because of his relationship with Eiri? That, he didn't understand himself. Blue eyes glancing away from her hands and into her eyes, he let the fall, feeling a little bit like a weirdo for holding onto them for so long. He allowed his eyes to fall again, but this time, to his own hands as he stared at how scarred and tough they were. Going camping had done a number on them, but he didn't mind all that much. It made him look.. tougher somehow. Well, only if you looked at his hands. The Gryffindor glanced back up to his best friend, unsure of what to say next. Of course, 'sorry; would not be the next word to spill from his mouth. |
Quote:
But why did she care what he thought? "Jayce," Eirian murmured. "Jay, meu filho, please just tell me everything is okay between us." Things were difficult... How could they be? She needed a lie. "I cannot lose my best friend as well... It would kill me." Silence followed, and it took entirely too long for the Brasileira to realize her poor choice of words. Oh well... It was already out there. |
Quote:
Well, they'd stay there unless he was distracted, which would probably happen rather quickly. And there it was. His distraction. He peeked over at Eiri from his peripheral vision, not daring full eye contact. He knew better. And he knew he was... in trouble? Yeah, that's what it was. The boy sighed, hearing the voice he secretly loved to listen to. Was everything- What? "Of course everything's okay.. Why would you think otherwise?" He asked her curiously, taking her hand in his own again. "You would never lose me. How many times do i have to tell you? I, Jayce Peter Cannon, will never leave you, Eirian Nerys Vaughn. Not now, not ever. So, get use to my company." He grinned. |
Quote:
"I do not know anymore," she muttered, shaking her head. Multiple strands of hair fell into her face, but she didn't mind; it kept her from showing her depression so easily. "Those words... They mean much. But I cannot believe them... I can never believe them. Everyone leaves me... They always leave me." Soon, she would be left alone, wouldn't she? There were only two people left that really had the ability to harm her with their departure, and one of them was sitting right in front of her. Jay would leave her; she knew it. Eirian aimed to marry Thiago as soon as she was old enough... That was the only way to guarantee his presence in her life. But... how could she do that with Jay? Eiri gazed up the gates as they disappeared into oblivion from her viewpoint. It was as if they reached all the way into the sky this way... These gates that kept them all in at Hogwarts, that kept the death and despair out. If only they could stay here forever... But this was Thiago's last year, and she and Jayce were only one year behind him... "I cannot believe it," the Brasileira murmured softly. "It will be two years ago that we met here... Two years. Has time passed that fast? I wonder if we were ever not friends... But I also wonder if we befriended each other just yesterday..." Oh, gosh. Was she really getting to that point? It wasn't even her last year and Eirian was getting... sentimental. Eurgh. What was the world coming to? |
Quote:
Jayce scooted closer to Eiri pulling her closer, wanting to do more to comfort her, but he wasn't entirely sure what else to do. Well, there was another thing in mind, but he didn't think it would exactly help. But instead, he took a strand of her hair and tucked it behind her ear. It.. it totally wasn't weird because they were.. friends and stuff.. Yeahh.. "They should, because i mean them and i'm not going to ever let you go," with that being said, he hugged her tightly, not wanting to let her go, and just embrace her until she was all better again. The sixth year then pointed to himself. "This person right here is NOT like everyone else. You should know that above anyone else in the world. I don't care what happens, i will always be in your life," he smiled softly and released her from the hug. He stared out across the path, watching the students play, and walk together and just have fun. It.. upset him that his life along with Eirian's had gotten so complicated that they no longer had simple times like that. They no longer got the chance to just.. be. Blue eyes wandering back to Eirian's own, he listed to her as the words flowed from her tongue. Had it really been that long? Two years? Surely not.. They had only met.. But of course it was right. "Two years," He stated. "It's been.. too long. It doesn't feel right," he murmered, knowing it to be true. "It's absolutely insane. And it.. it was in the exact spot too," he breathed, staring into her eyes, then looking away awkwardly. |
Quote:
She leaned against his hand as it grazed her cheek and swept her hair back; he was nice and warm... And his hands, while scarred, felt good on her smooth skin. Hard and warm... That wasn't often an ideal combination, but Jayce pulled it off. Gosh, why was Eiri so cold all of a sudden? As he hugged her, she pet his arm and closed her eyes, fighting the tears that stung at the back of her eerie blue eyes. "Thank you," she whispered. With a gulp once he let her go, she rolled up to balance on her kneecaps and gave the Gryffindor a gigantic hug and a kiss on the cheek. "You are an amazing brother, Jayce. I wish I could have been born with a sibling like you... I wish three people did not have to die to make me your family." "Does not feel right?" Eirian repeated, her voice small. What did that mean? Why didn't he feel good about being her best friend of two years? Jayce looked into her eyes, then looked away, and at that moment.. Eiri felt hollow. Dread was pooling in her stomach in place of her jealousy. After all that Jay had said before about never abandoning her, why did he say that now? Had she done something wrong? She couldn't... Couldn't lose a friend... |
Text Cut: Mani <33 "Sharing a date of birth does not necessarily mean sharing qualities," Jared reflected. Not, at least, in his opinion. "I guess individuals are called that for a reason." He gave her a little nod, a light smile playing around his lips. "One has to swim, once in the ocean," he agreed. Drowning was, obviously, not an option. Not for him. "I still believe I can't find the time to fit a pair of pets in my schedule, but let's see if I can find this irresistible little demon of yours a partner." Josette, of course. He grinned at the end of his sentence, his usual lazy, little grin. "I suppose one's perspectives as a student and teacher need to be different," Jared offered. Being a professor meant needing to be on the calmer, more cautious side of the fence, and that alone could entirely change an experience. Liking putting on tinted shades. "I'm sure it's going to be a delightful visit, mademoiselle. Perhaps you have a suggestion, regarding the place I should visit first?" He'd value an opinion and, of course, such an opinion also meant some insight into her personality. |
Maxie ♥ Quote:
Another small smile graced her lips at his comment. "The pair does keep me on my toes, but I do find it rather exciting at times. Never a dull moment to be had with them around." Of course, they wouldn't allow that to happen. No they would constantly nip at her ankles for more play time with her. Giving her kitten a look, she shook her head. "Wouldn't you just love another partner in crime." The kitten only purred, but Sylvie knew her little demon was so plotting. "When once a street looked so boring and plain, it now looks completely different to one's eyes." she nodded. Her days as a student and just heading to the shops that only served to amuse her were over. As a professor, she could actually slow down and maybe enjoy the simple things that once bored her in her youth. "I was always very fond of Madame Puddifoot's and Scrivenshaft's Quill Shop. But a visit to Hogsmeade is never complete without a stop to The Three Broomsticks or The Hog's Head." she voiced after giving it some thought. They was a certain charm to all the shops in the village, but those that she visited always varied due to her mood. |
Text Cut: The lovely Manii <33 Jared nodded in acknowledgment of her statement, but did not otherwise comment. That topic had been taken as far as it could be on a superficial level and, never having been one to ask unneeded questions or pry, he let it drop easily. "I believe you," Jared said, the usual lazy grin curving his lips. "I expect such a dynamic duo needs an eye kept on it." Pets could cause unbelievable chaos, just as they could give one unbelievable company. So said the common consensus. "It looks like the plan has pleased her, mademoiselle." He laughed softly, an almost startlingly warm laugh as he glanced down at the purring kitten. "That's quite a list there." He smiled, another light smile. "It looks like I have my work cut out, even after your suggestions. But thank you. Merci beaucoup." He inclined his head, ever so slightly. |
Text Cut: The Adorable Maxie ♥ Sylvie let a small giggle out at the thought of her duo. "A constant eye is needed, but I never tire of watching them play and cause trouble." she smiled. They were her babies after all and she did allow them too much freedom in her office, but it was fun to see all the chaos they could cause in such an enclosed space. Again looking down at Josette, she shook her head. "She is such the attention seeker, so a partner in crime would amuse her so much." The kitten again purred and reached her paw out. Oh, she looked innocent and cute, but her owner knew better. "For a small village there is never a lack of places to see," she smiled again. "I always find something new to appreciate when I visit. Je vous en prie. I'm sure you will find the village to your liking though," she added. |
*shifters* "You ready?" Chandler asked, titling his head sidewards. He was ready for this, it was a chance for him to have fun and be...rebellious. Though he'd probably ever do this again, it would just be epic if they both did this once. He also did know what the consequences would be but right now, he thought it was totally worth it. Then again he'd probably change his mind half way through. Not. A. Good. Idea. At the back of his mind this wasn't one but he was convincing himself that it was and fun was always a good thing to do...even if it was risky at times. |
Quote:
In the back of Leopold's silly mind, he knew the consequences but the general AWESOMENESS of this idea made those thoughts stay in the back of his head. He was going to have to much FUN to worry about the bad things. HE WAS GOING TO BE A FREAKING SPY!! He fit the part too, a nice suit and bow tie was on him. YES HE WASN'T WEARING SCHOOL UNIFORMS RIGHT NOW. He couldn't BE a spy in uniform, nope. He also held a little gun, a water gun in his hand just in case he needed to squirt some people. Key point was, Leopold looked COOL and oddly like James Bond Now where was FRENCH!Fry? Leo wasn't going to run around SCREAMING his name, that wouldn't be very spy like. He had to walk around all secretively with his water gun in hand and pretend like he actually WAS awesome. He then found his friend, instead of running up to his friend, Leo did something much cooler. He got a toy walkie talkie out of his belt.HIS SPY BELT WITH SPY GADGETS! "MEEP! Copy, FRENCH!Fry, Spy!man is here..."Leo said it loudly enough so his friend could hear it because obviously FRENCH!Fry didn't have the other walkie talkie. "Rodger that?" |
Quote:
...Walkie talkie? That was SO police like! FLAIL. CHANDLER WANTED ONE! ...Or SHOULD have one for that matter. "Ummm...mate? Do you actually know zat I don't 'AVE a walkie talkie?" Or did he forget to give him one? Either way it was NOT cool. "But rodger. Ready to go in?" Yep. Chandler Montague sucked at being a spy. Too serious and shizz. Policeman however suited him AWESOMELY and like how that walkie talkie suited his hand. |
Quote:
.........and now he was QUESTIONING the walkie talkie? <_< "not cool, man. You are TOTALLY ruining the vibe."He said STILL talking through the fake walkie talkie. He put it down for a second before lifting it back up. "And yes, FRENCH!Fry....i'm aware of that."It was only MINOR details though that he did NOT have a walkie talkie with him. MINOR details. In a single motion, Leopold put the plastic walkie talkie back in his spy belt. And what he did after that was SO cool. He did a ninja roll over to his friend, getting grass and dirt all over his suit. HE DIDN'T CARE THOUGH! IT WAS ALL FOR THE SAKE OF BEING A SPY. He sent a tiny accomplished smile at his friend, nodding. "Yeah, let's go." He got in his SUPER!spy stance. |
Quote:
Vibe? What vibe? The vibe where Leo pretends that he's talking to Chandler through ONE walkie talkie? Or the fact that Leo looked COOL? And he was STILL talking through it, oh well, might as well play along then. "Okay, okay, I'll try NOT to ruin ze vibe?" Which would probably lead to ruining it. But Chandler really didn't care, he cared about the fact that they were still outside when they should be INSIDE the school. He quickly rolled his eyes when Leo had to pick the walkie talkie up again. "Good, because I want one." Because walkie talkies were COOL! o____O How AWESOME was that? How awesome was Leopold? Chandler wouldn't be able to do one of those little wicked ninja!rolls because he was too lame to accomplish that. LAME LAME LAME. It was cool though, at least one of them could and when it came to spy stuff Leo could do a lot of things. "After you my little spy friend." He winked and sent a nod to the castle. |
Wanna post at the Entrance Hall, my friend? Quote:
"That's silly, Channy."Leopold stated with a few more snorts. HE THOUGHT IT WAS FUNNEH! Couldn't he just WEAR his spy gear now? It's not like any one was looking out for spies out here. She looked at his black gear, a serious look on his face. SUDDENLY HE WAS ALL SERIOUS! Leo took his spy actions VERY seriously. HE WASN'T GOING TO LET SILLY FRENCH!FRY RUIN IT FOR HIM.<_< "Again, your silly."PAUSE."JUST DON'T RUIN OUR SPY TIME!"Leo flailing bouncing up in down in a very unspy-like fashion. ......right. *cough* He acted like he hadn't just flailed and he was now TRYING to act all cool and awesome. HE WAS GOING TO ACT COOL AND AWESOME LIKE COUSIN TORIN! Putting his hands in fists and resting them on his hips, he looked so serious in his little suit. If one knew the boy, this would honestly be quite comical. Leo nodded his head slowly, watching his best friend. He said nothing because he had to be quiet so people ESPECIALLY professors didn't hear him. THEY DIDN'T WANT TO BE CAUGHT SPIES DID THEY!? And he wanted a walkie talkie? Leo suddenly exited cool spy-mode and grinned. "MY MOM GOT IT FOR ME AT A TOY STORE!"It was cool. :33"Maybe she could buy you one too...?"Then instead of having one way walkie talkie conversation they could have FAKE two way walkie talkie coversations. YEH! Off to the castle? Leopold nodded, smirking. With a tiny bounce, Leo skipped into the castle. His belt jingling as he did so. |
SUCH a cute kitty. *HUGS IT* <3 Quote:
He smiled at the paw that Sylvie's kitten had stuck out. "Your kitten, Sylvie, could have fooled me in a flash, if you hadn't mentioned her devious nature," he said, his laugh light but warm. How could one ignore such a gentle-looking pet? "Then you'll have to show me around," Jared said. "If possible," he added politely, looking up from the small paw as he spoke again. "Ah," he said, smiling slightly. "You speak French." It was as much of a question, as it was a statement. He knew of at least one other person on the staff that spoke the language fluently, but he was aware that it is not unusual for people to know common French phrases, as might be the case here. |
She's SO FLUFFY! ♥ Quote:
Reaching her finger out, she played with Josette's paw and looked back to Jared. "Oh, yes Josette has fooled many a people with her cuteness." she laughed softly. "She has her good day, where she isn't as much as a demon as I like to tell people about. She's almost like an angel, but on her bad days, I would advise no one come near her." Again, her kitten was so much like herself and on those bad days, the two of them would just keep to themselves. "I would be honoured to show you around, I do hope not to bore you too much," she smiled and then a nod. "I actually just moved back from France. I lived and worked there for some time." She actually France to be her new home before she returned to England. "My French is somewhat limited, but I do remember bits and pieces." Her time at the Louvre, she spoke little French but she had mastered enough to get what needed to be done. |
Quote:
"Thank you," he inclined his head, both lightly and graciously. "No, I'm sure you won't. Company is good to have, especially if exploring a place." He doubted having a guide might make the experience boring. Most likely, enrich it. "That sounds enchanting," Jared said and, being naturally fond of France, he meant it. "I left the place almost a decade ago, and have only been able to return for brief visits since, but I've found it charming each time." Of course, he was aware his opinion might be influenced by the fact that he was French himself. "Knowing common phrases is always useful." He straightened up, ever so slightly, noticing that the sun had risen high. He had no lessons scheduled for now, none until the latter part of the morning, but he did have other businesses to tackle back in his office. "I'm afraid I need to get back to my office, Sylvie," Jared said, sounding mildly apologetic. "I should head back inside." |
Sorry for the delay...work likes to keep me away. Quote:
"You are too kind, I can tend to ramble on and bore some. I shall try to keep it at a minimum when we happen to visit the village." she smiled. Of course, her rambling usually was connected to some kind of nervousness and all, but she didn't really have to be all that nervous whilst in the company of her colleagues. Having company on the next trip to the village just might turn out to be a fun excursion. "I began to fall in love with France, during my early adulthood. I sent some time backpacking through the countryside, but once I moved there to work. It was done. I'm rather captivated with it." she smiled as she thought about her time there. Of course, they weren't necessarily all great. There were bad times, but she still did treasure the time she had spent there. "Oh, yes the last time I stepped foot there, I was charmed all over again." It really was hard not to be taken in my it, in her opinion. "I shall have to brush up on my French again before I visit though." Yes, it never did hurt to tune whatever skills she had still retained. Looking slightly up at the sky as well, a small frown formed. It was getting late and she had lost track of time once again. She did need to tend to something in before her lesson. Hearing Jared again, pulled her back from her thoughts and she nodded. "Oh yes, I should be going myself." she replied with a shrug. "Thank you once again for helping me find my little demon, Jared. I should get her back inside and return her to her playmate." |
Sokay. *pets* <33 Text Cut: Maaanii <33 He understood her point, there. It could not be a delight to see a creature so active, down in the dumps. "Please don't," Jared said easily. "I'd hate to make you uncomfortable, mademoiselle." Never having been the sort of person to make an effort to talk to someone he did not have to, he often found himself at ease in the company of people that did tend to talk. It gave him the opportunity to listen and reflect, rather than attempt to make small talk. His usual half-smile flicked across his face, as she narrated her experience of France. The place did have an undeniable charm, one that had allured people of all kinds for ages. Brush up her French? "If I can be of service," Jared said, the light smile returning. "Please do let me know, Sylvie." "Of course." He nodded, a slight nod. "De rien," he said, lightly shaking the thanks off once again. "It seems we'll have each other for company, until we reach the first floor." |
Izzy <33 Ella was still wandering around the grounds since the care of magical creatures lesson ended. So obviously, she was still dressed up as a pig. Although she did wash the stupid face paint off at the lake before she continued to stroll any further. It was a lovely day outside, and if she decided to go back to the common room, then she knew that she would stay in there for the duration of the day. Lazy Ella. She arrived at the front gate, mainly because it was probably one of the emptiest places at Hogwarts. Apart from the forbidden forest, anyway. Ella sighed and stared at the intimidating gates. Why did she always come here? It just proved the fact that this place was like a prison and there was no way of getting out.. Pout. |
Emilyyyyyyyyy Quote:
And he saw that one of the other students had the same idea in mind. Or was it a student? She resembled more of a pig than a girl at the moment. As horrible as it was, he was tempted to make an 'oink oink,' but that wasn't very appropriate for someone he had never even met before. Chances were, she was probably still in her costume from Care of Magical Creatures. "Hello," he greeted, and he continued until he was close enough to the gate that he could grip the bars. "I like the, erm.. outfit." |
Quote:
Suddenly, she heard someone approach her with a kind enough 'hello'. She turned, only to see one of the most gorgeous guys she had ever seen. "Yeah, yeahhhhhh. I know I look like a twit." She looked away from the beauty, and watched as the boy held onto the bars. Ella had never ever done that before in fear of it electrocuting her or something. Her head cocked to the side, and she slowly grabbed hold of the bars too. WOW, she was alive. Turning back to the boy, Ella said, "Are you here to try and escape? If you are, then don't bother cos I tried that last year." That probably wasn't why he was here though. |
Quote:
He gave a laugh when she suggested escaping. Okay, now it definitely sounded like jail! "I'm not trying to escape.." Although it was interesting that she had previously attempted to. Almost everyone he had met loved Hogwarts, and he wondered why she didn't. "How come you tried to leave?" |

She suddenly looked disappointed. "Shame. We could've teamed up and escaped together." She was sure that with a little muscle help, Ella would be outta there in a tic. His next comment made her roll her eyes. But she wasn't sure why. Probably because everyone loved this school so bloody much, that she looked like an outcast. "I hate it here. I'm not much of a school person." Even if it did have a giant treehouse. OH WAIT, that's gone now. <_< |
Quote:
He blew a noisy breath out from his lips. "Okay, well, that depends. Where would we be escaping to?" A nice holiday really did not sound like a bad idea to him. His chin lifted when he looked up to survey the size of the gate. It actually wouldn't be too difficult. They would surely be able to climb it if they really wanted. She answered his question by informing him that she hated the school. And school in general. Heh.. "If you're in your seventh year and you still don't like school, then... yeah, sorry. I guess that sucks." But at least she only had this year left, right? "What's your name then, Piggy?" Ooops! |
Quote:
"Urrrm, home??!" That would be the first place to go, surely? But this guy could be one of those people who 'escape' to Hogwarts to get away from home. Blah blah blah. Ella was not one of those people. "I am in my seventh year, yes." She confirmed, then nodded. "This place isn't half as bad as Beauxbatons, but I still hate it." Although there wasn't any harm in giving Hogwarts a tiny bit of credit. O___O What a cheeky idiot! "Why would I tell my name to a complete prat, like yourself?" She raised her eyebrows but didn't wait for a response. She turned on her pink heel and walked about 10 yards away from him. Would he be a good guy and follow to apologize? Now was judgement time. |
oops, forgot he didn't know her year Quote:
Oh, home. That was a good enough answer, though he probably would have chosen somewhere different. "Wouldn't you get bored of home?" Aha, so this was her last year. But she was a Beauxbatons girl, too? Or, formerly. "I like it better than Durmstrang, too," he added. He came to this conclusion only when he said it, but yeah.. it was true. Merlin's beard, he thought he had been improving in talking to girls, and look at this! Failing. Completely. She turned on her heel and walked away and he panicked. "Wait, sorry!" Gahh! He fumbled a little before hustling after her and blocking her way. "Sorry, sorry. I didn't mean that. I was joshing you, you see. You're very pretty and you don't resemble a pig at all, aside from the pink overload." Right. He inhaled. "I'm Elliott." |
Quote:
"Not at all." Because she wouldn't be in her actual house all day long, she'd most likely be with Aiden. Siiiiiiiigh, Aiden... Oooh, he went to Durmstrang. Maybe that's why he was such a jerk. "Then I guess this school is the best in the land." Because those were the three main magical schools, right? Ella should be proud that she was accepted here really. This was the school to so many legends. She subconsciously tapped her foot on the floor to see if he would apologize. She waited, and waited, and... there we go. Ella looked up at him, with a small smirk playing on her lips. She was very pretty? Hmm, that was a good start. And she didn't resemble a pig. Okay, good. "Apology accepted..." She paused and made a little 'err' noise, "Elliott." She smiled when he finally introduced himself. Ella sighed. She still didn't want to tell him her name. But she did so anyway. "I'm Ella." Their names were quite similar. Obviously one was a boy's name and one was a girl's name.. but whatever. |
Quote:
PHEWWW. She had decided to accept his apology. For some reason, he always got the impression that people thought his name was amusing. It was the strangest thing!! Maybe it was simply his mind making this up. "Yep, Elliott." Nod. "Ella? Oh, cool! We're like.. name twins." Kind of. Right? He gave a smile. |
Quote:
Ella laughed for the first time in Elliott's presence. Name twins? Hehe, it seemed that he was reading her mind. "I suppose we are." She matched his smile. "So, what house are you in, Elliott?" He looked like an older kid too. But she was pretty sure that she hadn't seen him around in the Slytherin common room. |
Quote:
He was glad to hear a laugh escape her; it lightened things up a bit more after he had made such a disastrous first impression. "Oh, I'm in Gryffindor. Year six." Yep. He gave a nod. "And yourself?" |
Quote:
Hmmmm. Teeeeeeehee! Ohhh, imagine if Aiden were able to hear her thoughts right now. Too bad. Because he wasn't here. He had to go and GROW UP, didn't he?! *lesigh* |
Quote:
"Slytherin. Got it. So, why'd you get in that house?" He asked off-handedly. Everyone must have known everyone at this school because she too knew that he was a newbie to Hogwarts. Actually.....oh wait, nevermind. He had said something about Durmstrang earlier. "Yeah, I'm new. People have seemed to pick up on that pretty easily," he said, amused. |
Quote:
What sort of a question was that? She did have to think about it for a moment though, "err.. Because I am a cunning evil cow?" She said quite seriously, but then teased with a chuckle. That was the reason though. "Why are you in Gryffindor? I thought the jerks ended up in Slytherin." Hehehehehe. Ah.. "I see. I guessed you were new because no one messes with Ella Ainsworth. I'm the most popular girl in school!" She turned up her nose slightly and tried not to smirk. |
Quote:
A cunning, evil cow. Was she being serious? It was difficult to tell. But then she laughed a bit, so he smiled. "Cow.. I thought you were a pig.." D: Freudian slip. He should have known not to bring up her costume. OHHOA! And then she totally owned him with her next jab. "Touche!" He had to grin. Honestly, he wasn't sure why he was in Gryffindor. He'd never done anything particularly brave or heroic. Hmm.. Oh.. wow! He was talking to the most popular girl in the school! "Sheesh, well I'm a lucky guy, aren't I!" He loosened his collar a little because it felt to restricting. There we goo. "So, since you're the most popular girl, and you're my name twin, that makes me the most popular guy." Obviously. |
Quote:
OooOOOoooooooOoo. Her laugh faded quickly and she gave him a glare. But that was only to put the frighteners on him, so she laughed after. "That was a good one." What a quick thinker. And she was a quick thinker too! Ella smirked at his 'touche' comment, but didn't comment. "You are very lucky." Ella couldn't stop smiling. It was funny how he actually believed her. Ella was soooo NOT popular. "Errrrr... doesn't work like that, my friend." She made a little sympathetic expression, then continued, "but if you keep hanging with me, it'll happen for sure." Maybe that WAS an excuse for Elliott-the-hotty to hang out with her. But maybe it wasn't.... *whistles* |
Quote:
He sorta froze when she glared at him. Whoa. But then she laughed and he gave a relieved smile. "Thanks." Heh heh. Yepp, he was improving. Elliott nodded to show that he understood. Doesn't work like that? Whaaat?! Frowny face. "Awh. All right, well then I'll just hang with you." Then he glanced at her again. "I'm pretty cool when I want to be, so no worries." PFFT. Uh huh. He was about to assure her that he wouldn't embarrass her, but he thought better of it. Better not make promises he couldn't uphold! |
Cinn <33 It was a rather quiet walk back to the school even though she was walking back with Ivan. Mia dug her hands deeper into her pockets, trying to ward off the cold. She kept peeking at Ivan out of the corner of her eye just to make sure he was alright. As the gates to Hogwarts came into view, Mia couldn't take the silence any longer and she stopped walking and turned to face him. "Do you want to talk about it?" |
Quote:
Mia's voice broke his concentration and he glanced at her seeing that he had walked a few steps ahead since she stopped walking. Taking the steps back he looked and her and shrugged. "I can't even explain what happened..." And he couldn't really. It'd been like Lexi just irrupted and all he'd done was wave at Mia. "Think her insufferable jealousy of everyone who looks at me and constant dislike of anyone just took over. She saw me wave at you and blew up." And that was literally all he knew. He hadn't done anything else and didn't deserve that. He might not have deserved it but why did he feel like there was a gaping whole in his chest under the current anger still too close tot he surface. When that anger dissipated it was going to be horrible. |
Quote:
As she listened to Ivan explain what had happened, Mia felt a cold chill run over her. She felt bad that it seemed to be her fault and didn't know what it was that she had done wrong. "I'm sorry." What she was sorry for, Mia had no idea. "I don't know a lot about relationships. I'm kinda new to the whole thing but that doesn't seem healthy to me." She shrugged her shoulders and pulled her coat tighter around her. "Maybe Lexi was just having a bad day?" That could happen, right? |
Quote:
"Maybe," he sighed and gave her a small smile. "You're very nice you know that?" To take her time and spend it with him and all. |
Quote:
She gave him a smile of appreciation, glad that he hadn't thought she had done somewthing wrong. But still regardless of whether she had or hadn't done anything, Mia still felt horrible that Ivan and Lexi were fighting because of her. Even though she didn't know Ivan that well, watching him stand there, she could practically see his heart breaking. "You really love her, don't you?" Mia didn't know what went on in their relationship and what kind of troubles they were having but she hated to see people so unhappy. "Is it worth fighting for?" Mia blushed lightly at his compliment. "So are you Ivan and I reckon you would do the same if the roles were reversed." Deciding that he might appreciate a subject change, Mia grinned. "So how did you and James meet?" |
Quote:
Thankful that she took his change of topic he smiled, "I would. Friends are important." Yup he knew that one alright. "Well James and I were home schooled together," he said with a grin. Ohhhh those had been some fun times. "I've known him for years. And we've gotten into a lot of stuff together." Good times. |
Quote:
She laughed at that. "Oh I can just imagine you two together." Mia couldn't help grinning back at him. She might not know Ivan that well yet but if he was friends with James then she was going to figure him out pretty quickly. "Oh yeah? And what kind of mischief did you two get up to?" No doubt it quite a lot to do with girls and pranks. |
Quote:
"Oh yeah we caused a fair bit of havoc. We used to drive out tutor crazy pulling random pranks on him to get out of studying. Giving my cousin a hard time." He smiled fondly and gave a shrug. "It was fun. I'm glad we're in the same house makes coming to a new school a lot more fun when you don't know anyone else." Yup him and James were like twins separated at birth or something. It was just that awesome. "We should go find him!" What better to take his mind off his issues than getting into trouble with James. |
Quote:
Well she liked to think that she was a good friend. A person could never have too many friends as far as she was concerned. "Anytime." Mia shook her head but she was laughing. "I feel sorry for your tutor. Having the two of you gang up on him. Did he put up with it or did he quit and that's why you two are now at Hogwarts?" She was still grinning even though she was now shifting from foot to foot trying to keep warm. She thought about his suggestion for a moment. "We could, I suppose. But what if he is in your common room? I can't go in there. Or if he's with Marie? I don't want to interrupt them." Or then he might not be doing either of those things. "It will probably give us a workout though, having to walk all over the castle." And she could probably do with some exercise. |
Quote:
"Well we went through a few tutors but eventually James came here and my mum, probably not realizing James was here, sent me as well." He smiled and watched as Mia did a little dancing and started chuckling, "Cold?" He laughed and looked at the castle. "Maybe we should go inside so you don't freeze." And then they could find James! Perfect! "Well if he's in the common room I drag him out. And if he's with Marie..." good question. "We'll go find Finn again." Yup that's perfect. Feeling a lot more relaxed he smiled and looked at the castle again. "Shall we?" |
Quote:
"So your mum is not that keen on you and James being together?" Well that was a stupid question. Of course if the boys kept causing trouble then his mother would want to separate them. You would think though that she would check first. Mia laughed as well as she kept up her little jig. "Just a little. I really hate the cold." The idea of going back inside the castle was overwhelming and Mia's face broke into a huge smile. "Yes let's go." Then she gave him a mischeviousl look. "Wanna race?" |
Quote:
His smirk turned into a laugh as he saw the smile come to Mia's face. Wait race? 'I don't know...I don't exactly have the shoes for racing..." Ah what the hell. It'd be fun and Merlin knew he could use a little fun right now. Shrugging he only gave another smirk before taking his other hand out of his pocket and taking off toward the castle laughing. |
Absolute fail D: Quote:
Bwahahaha. Elliott looked scared. He should be scared. "Maybe I don't want to hang with you." She suggested, then realised that her hat was still lying on the icky floor. She made a face, then picked it up. Stupid pig hat. AHEMcough. "Anyway... only kidding. Course we can hang, if you really want to." Ella sent him a curious glance. |
Sakura had wandered from the Whomping Willow towards the Front Gate of the school and she decided to pause to rest here and continue her transfiguration homework. This time she was going to go with an antique compass design that was unusual to her. It had apparently been popular as a decorative compass at one time but not something many people were familiar with. She'd seen it in her grandmothers house before and the design had been stuck in her mind. Now if only she could recreate it. Closing her eyes Sakura breathed deeply and concentrated on the design in her mind. This design would require a great amount of concentration and Sakura wasn't going to allow anything to distract her. All that mattered was the image in her mind and of course the spell. "Comlatia," Sakura said, waving her wand in the correct motion. Opening her eyes she blinked when she saw that the pocket watch was still a pocket watch. Huh? Surely she should have been able to get at least some transformation. Every other time the spell had worked. Why had she failed now? After standing confused for a few minutes Sakura thought back on what she'd done. The thinking part had been right, as had the wand movements. What had gone wrong??? She'd pronounced the spell right hadn't she? She had said Comletia hadn't she? No she realized. She hadn't. Great. Now she needed to clear her mind of any outside influences again. This time even with her eyes closed it took longer for Sakura to focus solely on the image of the compass in her mind, and to block out any other sounds or thoughts. "Comletia," she said, this time pronouncing the incantation correctly as well as doing the correct wand movements. When Sakura opened her eyes she was gratified to see the compass she'd been picturing in her mind, recreated nearly perfectly in actuality. The colour had been off but Sakura thought it looked better this way. And really, the main point was that she'd managed to recreate a design she'd seen only once in her life. Plus it was so far outside the usual that it was a great achievement. The greatest achievement of all however was that it worked, and it kept on working every time she transformed it into a pocket watch and then into the compass again. It seemed that she was good at this spell. Luckily. |
Hugo walked up the path with Fee, and he let go of her hand. He saw another girl doing the homework for Transfiguration. Hugo took out his wand, but it was snatched by Athena, who apparently came flying to the gate. He carefully retrieved the wand, afraid of getting picked. "I'm sorry I didn't say goodbye," he said and petted the little owl's head. "I'll let you go to my parents tomorrow, okay?" he said to the owl. Athena skreetched and flew away. "So," Hugo said and turned to Fee. "I think I'll do it now," he told her and got out his compass. Then, he put it on a large rock nearby and said "Reverto." The compass turned back into a watch. He started to think. What could I improve? He closed his eyes and nodded to his thoughts. It needs a little cap... And a little ring where I can put a chord through. And it needs to be more detailed. Yes, that was it. Hugo started to form an image in his mind. He vizualised it, like he was adding things in a workshop. That was it. Hugo couldn't possibly concentrate any harder. He pointed his wand at the watch, and made the movement, still vizualising the image in his head. Then, he said "Comletia," and the watch poofed into a compass. Hugo sprinted towards it and studied it. It had the ring. It had a cap. But it wasn't authentic enough. It wasn't much like the compass he had in mind. There was another way... But it would probably creep Fee out. Hugo picked up the compass. "I think I need to create a stronger image in my head... And concentrate harder. It doesn't look like what I visualised much," he told Fee. But it was okay. "Your turn," he said and smiled. He took a step back, allowing Fee to do it. |
Quote:
Was she suggesting that she didn't want his company? She had just said to hang with her to become popular, but maybe that wasn't an invitation. While his mind thought of what to say to that, she spoke again and he no longer had a problem. "Oh! Excellent, then I'll hang with you." He grinned and looked down at the pig mask in her hands. "So, what do you like to do, then? Apart from dressing up as farm animals, I mean." |
1 Attachment(s) Belle decided to explore hogwarts while doing her transfiguration homework. She found a spot and concentrated hardly. She wanted a different design. "Comletia..Comeltia..comeltia." she repeated in her head three times to make sure she said it right. she imagined the beach and how her grandmother had a compass that she had on her frontporch and thought of it rlly hard. She did the wand movements "Top to Bottom..Left to right...a little circle and a tap and she concentrated rlly hard and she didn't do it the first time. "Damn.." she told herself. She did twice and concentrated on what it looked it and she got it! This is exactly what it looked like. "I knew coming to a place like this would make me concentrate more." she told herself. |
K-Lee wanted to get all of her homework out of the way, so had trekked down into the grounds to finish it off. Going near the front gate where she saw another girl doing her Transfiguration homework. Taking out her watch, K-Lee thought up a design she wanted. Happy with the idea in her head, she started the spell. "Comletia." She did the wand movement carefully and watched her watch, looking for any change. Nothing. "OK, I can do this." She mumbled to herself. Several more tries later and she was feeling even more determined to do this perfectly. "Comletia." This time after the wand movement the watch changed into a compass. It was a lime green colour with a design of a leaf on the back. The leaf wasn't as detailed as she had hoped but it still was very pretty. Smiling at her good work she pocketed it, in the mood for a rest before trying again. |
Quote:
Waiting a few seconds the girl took a step and laid her compass down on one of the stones nearby."Reverto",she said aiming her wand at it. Within seconds it turned to old, ugly watch for the third time. Closing her eyes Fee tried to concentrate on what her new compass should look like. Mhh... As she took a deep breath a image was forming in her head.Oh yes this was a good one.Hopefully it would workout."Comeltia",the Slytherin pointed her wand at the watch. When she opened her eyes again there on the stone laid her newly transformed compass.Mhhh well at least it was green and it kinda looked like the image in her head. Not exactly but for the third try it was okay."Good",Fee sighed a little,"what does yours say?" |
Apparently this is THE place to be for this. Heh. Ellie traipsed around the grounds with her wand up its holster and the watch from Transfiguration in her cloak pocket. Time for homework. And she'd come outside just for that very reason. She had a theory to test, really. It was slightly cold, but with her heavier cloke and hair down (as always), it was nothing, really. So, she pulled the watch out of her pocket, "Ugh." She really wished she had traded it in for one that would be easier to work with. Bummer. She flicked her wrist a couple times, causing the wand to shimmy out of it's strappings. Then she pointed it at the watch. If she did it before, she could do it now, yes? Yes. "Comletia," up/down, left/right, circle, jab. And just as in class, the watch became a compass with leather around it. Meh. Ellie turned it around in her hand...it appeared to be working. Then she turned her self so that she was facing North and glanced behind her. The North tower was North. POUT. She'd hoped otherwise. That woulda been epic. And maybe, she'd get to rename it, since it was incorrect. And then it would be the Ellie tower. And centuries from now, kiddies would be learning Divination there. And they'd learn about her in History of Magic. But...looks like that's not gonna happen. Oh well. The disappointed girl reverted the compass back, reholstered her wand, and trudged back up to the castle. She'll practice more in the warmth. Maybe with food. Food sounded good. |

Upon reaching the gates, his fingers were warmer and his nose a little less frosty, though his toes were giving a good deal of protest against the wet fabric of his sneakers. Poor attire for the task at hand. Perhaps he should transform his shoes into boots, though doing so may just as well have him ending up with his feet in a tissue box. No, he'd stick with the watch transformation. Looking up at the gates he pursed his lips and let out a slow stream of breath between them, watching as the strands curled up and towards the metal peeks. He had tried a modern compass, so now, he figured perhaps one bordering on ancient may be a challenge to try out. Well, perhaps not ancient, but older. The design would be similar, with a detailed basis for the needle to sit on, degrees between each of the main directions, and a needle that wasn't simply red. All of that inside what would normally be the flip-container of a pocket watch. A complex basis in the simple design of something older. Once again, he drew out watch and wand, focusing first on the magnetism and then on each of the details. The basic design was getting easier, a template that he could work off of and build around. It was the design of the container that stumped him, the sleekness and curvature, how the hinges connected and latched together. It took a few tries, a few instances of the lid being on the side of the compass, on the bottom so one could see the magnets and inner workings, upside down and sideways before he finally got it to close purposefully over the top. Once that was done and the magnetism checked again, he spent several minutes simply opening and closing the pocket-compass. He had always found the style intriguing and very proper and couldn't help but wonder why it had gone out of style. Perhaps because the latches got sticky, as his seemed to be with each consecutive open and close? Or maybe that was just the cold. A glance to the sky told him time was running out and evening was fast approaching. Four down, one to go and then he could warm his hands by the fire. Flicking the compass closed one last time, he headed back towards Hogwarts, intent on creating his last in the courtyard so he could bolt inside to warmth once it was over. For Laura ^_^ I just, uh, pretended they did something :P And... fail post. xD Dallin was just about to freeze. He was pretty sure that his toes were frozen and he wasn't sure that he would ever feel them again. But, he really wasn't paying attention to those things, because his mind was on something much better; the girl he was walking with. He shuffled his feet through the snow as they walked onto Hogwarts' grounds. "So, I think I could handle going back there sometime. Ya know, when it's warmer and everything." He nodded toward the snow. |
Nerida walked over to the front gate she wasnt concentrating..And she needed to...She took out her wand and the watch out from her purseAfter setting the watch down on the stone she did the movements up/down, left/right, circle, jab and then said ComeltiaaWhy didnt it work?! And then accedantly said outloud It worked the other two times..She then realized she must have said the incantation wrong...She did the movements once more and said ComeltiaShe saw as it worked and a smiled of happieness went on the First Years face..But it wasnt snazzy enough for her..She thought of the design she wanted it to be, she wanted it to have lots of directions where it could point to like North, Northwest, NorthNorthwest, and so on...She concentrated and said ComeltiaAnd tried not to jump for joy as it worked! She then said Reverto and smiled as it became a normal watch once more.. SPOILER!!: Nerida's 3rd Compass |
Jade was walking around the school. She stopped for a moment as was standing right at the front gate of Hogwarts. The wrought iron gate was enormous. Just then she saw someone walking towards her. |
Syd! Sorry it's late >.< Quote:
"I guess I could face going back, too," she smiled, her nose wrinkling a little as he gestured to the sheet of white. "But when eet es sunnier. And as long as I 'ave as good company." Because today with Dallin - well, it had been very fun. |

"So," he said, looking back at Aimée. "Feel like leaving this gross white stuff and going into the castle?" He could almost feel the greatness of the warm building, but if Aimée wanted to stay outside, he supposed he could live with it. |

"Hi, I'm Dan" He said awkwardly, he wasn't the best at these things. |

Nodding enthusiastically at the boys suggestion, Aimée stamped her feet and rubbed her hands together, to try and get more feeling into them. "Yes, I would love to go back," she laughed. It would be warm there, heheh. |

He grinned in relief when she said she wanted to go into the castle. "Awesome," he replied with a short nod. He was already thinking of hot chocolate in the great hall, or the fireplace in the common room. Both sounded equally as appealing. He offered his arm in a gentlemanly way, smirking slightly as he looked at Aimée. "Shall we?" |
omg, FIVE?! *sings* looks like we maaaaaaade iiiiiit. Jake had no idea he was anywhere NEAR the front gate. He'd been inspecting the pocketwatch once more, noting how awesome it looked even when not a compass with his name on the back. In face, Jake had no idea he was at the front gate until he walked straight into it. "Owwww," the young man whined loudly, rubbing his face even though it didn't hurt as he looked up at the gate. Well... now that he'd stopped, it was time to make the BEST compass he'd ever conjured... which wouldn't be hard. He hadn't exactly cast many of these in his time. Drawing his wand again, Jake leaned hs head up against the gate bars and looked down at his watch. This position helped him focus... he couldn't be distracted by ANYTHING. Thinking REALLY hard about the design he wanted, Jake squeezed his eyes shut and focused SUPER hard, finally thinking 'Comletia' loudly, after making the wand movement. Trying not to get distracted by wondering how loud someone could think, Jake inspacted the compass. The engravings from last time were there and everything, but now he looked closer, it actually looked... COOLER. Around the edge it was black and silver, and the inside 'face' was black with all the letters and dashes representing degrees were a pretty silver. His name on the back seemed to stand out even more against the now silver background, but he wasn't sure he knew why. "Cool," the young man grinned, starting with the four point spell to test it was he face different directions. It was PERFECT! His homework done, Jake turned back and started the long trek back to the castle, leaving the compass as it was as he tucked it into his shirt pocket. He wanted to sherish it like this for a little longer... maybe draw it. Besides, what could he do right now with a backwards watch? |
Transfiguration post 3 Well now...THIS...this was a good place. Fresh air, not smelly animals, and no scary whomping willow trees in site! Just her, this big fence, and those animal thingies by the fence...and then out into the open freedom beyond the fence! This was a rather large fence. Kinda intimidating. ... Pfft, nooooo. She wasn't scared of a fence. Twirling the watch on her finger, she tugged her jacket closer to herself with her free hand as she glanced around. Kinda lonely out here too. It was true that she wanted some quiet to concentrate on the task at hand, but this...this was like, extreme quiet. Quite unsettling. Leaning against a large boulder that was quite familiar to her, Evelyn took a few moments to just, relax. She hadn't relaxed in quite sometime so it was nice. However, those few moments were up as she glanced down to the watch, remember whyyyy she was here in the first place. Yet, this place did not help her remember what a- OMG she remembered. It had those things! Those letter things, pointing in each direction right? North, South, East, and West...and those arrow things pointed...somewhere... It didn't matter! What mattered was that she remembered what a compass looked like! Hopefully. "Comletia!" Cross, circle, jab-EXCITING! Watching the watch transfigure into the already familiar shape and color of the compass, this time however, the actual part that made it look like a compass showed up, regardless of some parts missing. She, made, and almost looking COMPASS! Flipping the silver thing from front to back and repeating that slowly, she stood up from the boulder and continued on her way, having no idea where she was going. She was just happy that she had gotten this at least halfway right. Hehe, oh yea! Transfiguration...totally easy. |

Zander wondered down to the front gate, an area he had never ventured too , well not since he first arrived at the school. He glanced through the bars ad the path that lead down to hogsmead station, the scenery was beautiful. |
Keeley skipped down the path to the front gates. After all, skipping is the absolute best way to travel, no? Anywho, she was off to the rather large rock that was nestled into the side of the gate, one of her favorite places to doodle, think, and generally avoid O.W.L. work. Yep, working's for losers. Plopping down on the rock, Keeley's brushed back her untidy red bangs and pulled out her old sketchbook. Gosh, this ol' thing had been through years of wear and tear. The leather cover was ripped, torn, and even burned in one spot. Ah, the time when William had attempted to charm her name on it. Good times. Lord, she missed that boy.. wherever he was. Hm. Whatever, now was the time for doodling the little bird which had just landed in a nearby tree. |
