And he'd smile, but he feared that's all he could do when standing next to the bright Ravenclaw. "It's been proven already, there's nothing surrounding mistletoe," was it really proven, though? Treyen didn't think anyone actually took the time to research Nargles. They probably existed just because no one had taken interest in making sure they didn't.
He laughed softly, remembering the tennis shoes, "If they disappear, I'd blame someone in your Common Room instead of Nargles," or probably Peeves.
"Hmm," Kurumi murmured checking out the article a bit more. "Are you sure they don't exist? I haven't come across anything in my magical creature research, but perhaps they are just very very sneaky buggers?" Kurumi closed the paper for a moment to think. "Or, perhaps they are like Pogrebins and can blend with the environment really well?" Add another thing on her list of things to research.

Treyen wanted to hint Salander to knock it off, but he didn't know how to do it without gaining Kurumi's attention.
So, instead, he made Kurumi focus on the paper even more.

He started to feel like he wanted his 12 sickles back when he spotted something he thought he'd never have to read on paper again. Statute of Wizarding Secrecy. His frown deepened.
Kurumi looked up to ask more questions about the existence or non-existence of Nargles when she saw Treyen standing rather close and blocking her peripheral vision. There was that shinny smile of his again...but this time it was a suspicious shinny smile. Tilting her head to the side, Kurumi tried to look past Treyen to see what he was trying to block. Was the trolley out of licorice wands?! Because that would be terrible. "What's that?" she asked pointing to something, really nothing, off to the side hoping to distract him long enough to see what was behind him. "It looks like a Nargle." Or not...

"Yes, lingering debts are horrible." What was this boys name again? Oh who cares! His eyes were captivating enough for her to forget even if he told her. "I'll haveeee...." Her green eyes looked towards the candy. No jelly beans, that was for sure. "A chocolate frog, please."
Ivan laughed and shook his head, "Yes they are." He smiled and watched as she eyed the candy. "A chocolate frog, are you sure?" He eyed the cart thing carefully looking for something he'd like. "Alright. I'd like three chocolate frogs then." Pulling out his money he paid the person and grabbed the frogs. "One chocolate frog for you milady," he said with a smirk as he held one of the frogs out to her.

Ara grinned, pressing her lips together as if she had won a prize. "Thank you," she spoke softly, reaching for one of the chocolate frogs. "This should hold me over until we get to school.
"By the way, how long are we on this train?" She had no clue and didn't bother to ask anyone. She was thinking it was a short trip but with a food trolley on board, it seemed like it was going to be longer than a thirty minute trip.

Laughing softly at the blond, Mia returned her friends hug. "Hey Marie." Now everything was perfect well almost perfect because there were two people still missing from this group. "I haven't seen them yet." Leaning in a little and lowering her voice, Mia spoke in Marie's ear. "I thought you would be huddled up in a compartment with a certain someone?"
Marie's smile sorta turned to a frown when Mia said she hadn't seen them either. Where in the name of Merlin were those girls?
Hearing what Mia whispered in her ear instantly made that frown turn into a smile. "Oh I plan on doing just that in a little bit." She whispered back. Yes there would definitely be some snuggling going on there... along with a lot of snogging.
First she needed to find Destiny and Evelyn to you know... tell them why she was going to be MIA for most of the train ride. She definitely didn't need them to come looking for her later when she would be busy.

"Hey....I'm Finn."
Why was this boy staring at her like that? Did she have something on her...
Ohhhh...
So this was Jimmy's friend Finn. The friend that gave Jimmy that split lip that cut into her snogging time with him. She was tempted to punch Finn in his mouth and give him a split lip so he wouldn't be able to snog anyone but she decided against it... for now. Probably wouldn't be a good idea right now since she did want his help with something. "Nice to finally meet you Finn."
Yep, she would be nice to him... until he gave her a reason not to be nice.

Raising an eyebrow she gave Sal a a mischievous smile. "Exciting huh? Yeah I had an exciting summer too." Actually she had a great summer. "Almost profitable... thanks to me? How's that?" She hadn't seem him all summer except at Jakes party and there they didn't even talk.
"But you'll break my bank if I keep buying little bits of sweets for you." Finlay smirked at her, as he leant against the wall of the train. Really he knew that he wouldn't be able to break his bank, especially considering shopping with Brody hadn't broke the bank. But still. He could use it as an excuse.
Mmm. Would he get her in trouble. Finn raised an eyebrow at her and laughed. "Well....it would probably get you in detention." He pondered, clearly thinking about it, before shaking his head. "I might just have to overlook it....seeing as your my best friend." He grinned. He was an awesome prefect like that. "As long as you don't prank me...." Because then there would be consequences.

That comment made Mia snort. "Oh please Finn. I have stayed at your house or should I say mansion before and there is no way that I would break your bank." She gave him a wink and then grinned. "Okay how's this? First Hogsmeade weekend, I shall buy you anything you want." Now how could he possibly refuse an offer like that?
Detention?
He wouldn't.
She gave him an innocent look and fluttered her eyelashes at him in a joking manner. "Would I prank you?"

He looked up at the other fellow Mia introduced and shook his hand "Good to meetcha Finn!" he replied. Huh why did that name sound familiar? Okay what was with these two?
Finn gives her odd looks and now Sal is grumbling at her. Mia didn't get it at all. And they say girls are confusing well as far as she was concerned so were boys.
"Alright what is that supposed to mean Salander?" She asked in a somewhat serious tone and if she could pronounce his surname, she would have said that as well.
For some reason she was tempted to squash that pie into his face.

"Thought you might." Mia said with a knowing grin. She would be doing the same thing if Nik was here. Marie was lucky that her boyfriend was going to be at the same school as her.
She watched as Marie spoke to the two boys while taking another bite out of her cauldron cake. Still thinking about Sal's grumbling, Mia tugged on Marie's arm. "Can you hang around for a bit? I might need your help with something." She said, her eyes on Salander.

Prefect Finn? Mmm. Finlay could get used to making people call him that. It was nice, and showed them who was boss. "You can just call me Finn." He decided that it was nicer just having his name as it was. The badge hadn't changed anything really, other than him wanting to use it as a chick magnet. hehe. "Yeah...." He nodded with a grin. School was better than home for him really. And at least he didn't have any exams to do this year. Which was good. He hated exams.

Hmm. This Marie looked like she was plotting something, which Finn had a feeling was not a good idea. Maybe it was good that he kept on her good side, because he didn't exactly want to experiance what she might be plotting. "Yeah....it is." Finn grinned at her. She was pretty, he would have to congratulate his mate on hooking her in. Although he did kind of hope that Marie wouldn't steal Jimmy all the time. Maybe Finn needed some more male friends....itw ould help with things really.

Oh yeah. He lived in a mansion. "You don't have to remind me how big my house is Mia...." Finn smirked at her, with a shake of her head. He wasn't that silly that he forget that he lived in a huge house. "Sound sawesome." He nodded with a grin. He'd probably just ask her for a butterbeer or something...keep an eye on her for Nik? heh. It was totally innocent though, because Mia was his best friend. They were able to have drinks right? Well yes. They were in his books, and he was a prefect, so he was epic.
Finlay laughed. "Of course you would."

Katelynn had given up on her book, and had instead chosen to find the food trolley. It wasn't very hard, though, because it looked to Katelynn as though hundreds of people stood there, trying to get something to eat. Or well - not that many actually, but as they were all older then her, it seemed rather scaring. Why did everyone have to stand here and talk? couldn't they do that in they'r compartments? she thought to herself. This really looked impossible.. She tried to squeeze through the crowd, to get to the trolley. "Uhm.. A box of Every Flavoured Beans, and two Pumpkin Pasties, please"
Katelynn dropped the coins on to they trolley, and tried to squeeze out. But as clumsy as she was, she fell over, and all of her newly bought candy fell out of her arms. I don't suppose I'm so lucky that nobody saw that? she thought, laying there on the floor.

He asked with a look of disgust directed at the kids buying a mass of candies. "The only thing I can bear to eat is Bertie Bott's; everything else tastes like crap." Eyebrows raised, he inherently waited for her to agree to his statement and if she didn't then whatever.
Harley took another step back as the boy she was talking to threw his hands up in the air, if she was honest which she always tried to be, she was kinda afraid that he was gonna hit her or something. eeep. Well, I was gonna get something yummy but I uh...didn't know what to get." she said with a small shrug of her shoulders as she looked towards the food trolley and then back to the boy. "Um. I dont believe I know your name." Was true, she didn't. "I dont know...they might be hungry." How was she supposed to know ? "Thats a lovely description."

She turned back around as he introduced himself to her, "Well 'ello Alex, it's nice to meet you as well." she said once again with her sparkling white smile and thick Texas accent that no matter how long she stayed away stayed with her. She focused on the trolley candies just for a second and then realized that she probably looked like she was starring off into no where so she focused back in on the conversation.
"O a transfer student....hmmm...where from?" she asked as she cocked her right bright purple eyebrow up. "I've actually been away from Hogwarts for one year studying abroad. Maybe I attending your old school for a few weeks." she said thinking about the nine schools she visited and studying his face and dialect and accent trying to decide in her mind where he went...hmmm...America? France? Australia? Antartica? no no no...maybe it was the African? or even South American Wizarding School.
While she thought her stomach growled a little bit and she glanced impatiently at the front of the line trying hard to keep herself from drooling over the delicious and beautimous licorice wands...yummy....
Alex grinned in agreement to Satine, he liked how she thought. "Yes, when they're sleeping and when they're quiet." he mused out loud. Incredible how the little kids could scream high pitch. Like... Ouch.
He noticed her Texas accent and raised one eyebrow interested. American? Was she? Was she?! "I'm from New York." he nodded his head his accent drifting through his words. "Well originally from here but moved when I was younger." His life story in Cliff Note's version. It was kind of useful to be able to switch from his british to his american accent.
"Really you studied abroad?" he asked moving forward slightly in the line before turning to her again. "Beauxbatons or something?" Because every transfer he had met was from either Beauxbatons or Durmstrang, not that surprising perhaps but still.
He noticed her longing look at the trolley and followed her gaze towards it. It took a lot of his willpower to fight the urge to just push some firsties out of the way to get his stuff. Come on, couldn't they had decided what to pick when they were still in the line and not deciding at the front. They were so slooow. "I actually thought that I would be among the first ones here." he admitted absently.
Fallon was hungry! She'd only had that one horrible Bertie Bott since she got on the train and she could really use something else. She looked over all of the sweets that were on the trolley. There were so many to choose from! She let out a sigh. It was not going to be easy to make up her mind.
Her eyes then laid upon the chocolate frogs. Fallon smiled as she thought of Finn. Yep. She was forever going to associate chocolate frogs with him now, even if she was still confused by her feelings and actions. She dug arond in her pocket for her money so she could buy some amazing chocolate.

Satine's face lit up when he said New York, "O my....you're American? I'm from Texas originally and I love love love New York!!!" she said shaking her head slightly. "We just moved to London before my first year here..but we got back and visit constantly...I love everything about America!" she finished as she played with some coins in her hand.
"Yes, I was accepted into a program that let me travel to different schools for one year. I got to spend about 8 weeks at teach school. I did do some time at Durmstrang and Beuxbaton, but I also went to the Wizarding School in America, Africa, Australia, and even Antartica." she said shivering remembering that horrible stint of 9 weeks.
She focused back in on his voice, "Yes this is usually my first stop. I love love love licorice wands and the wands from the Trolley just taste different than from anywhere else! They are just scrumdilyumptuos!" she said fighting the urge to lick her lips.
"So, do you know what house you want to be sorted into? I mean Ravvis is pretty amazing... " she said with a wink.
Fallon was hungry! She'd only had that one horrible Bertie Bott since she got on the train and she could really use something else. She looked over all of the sweets that were on the trolley. There were so many to choose from! She let out a sigh. It was not going to be easy to make up her mind.

Simon decided he was getting a bit hungry, he hadn't eaten at all since he got on the train, he was to busy looking at the food that he didn't realise that there was someone else there, he accidently walked into them, he decided it was there fault. "Watch where..." Simon started to say then he realised who it was.
"Fallon, I am so sorry, I didn't see you there." Simon gave Fallon a little hug, he hadn't seen Fallon for ages, he hoped that she wasn't cross with him. "How have you been?" Simon smiled, he took out enough money to pay for both his and Fallons chocolate frogs.

Fallon had just gotten her money out when someone bumped into her. She was ready to yell at this person because they seemed intent on yelling at her. Then she saw Simon. The adorable younger kid that had done wonders with Liam that one summer.
"It's all right Simon." She smiled as he wrapped his arms around her and she hugged him back. He had gotten quite a bit taller then the last time she saw him. Then again, that might've been because she was kind of on the short side. "I've been all right. You?" Fallon really wasn't up to talking about her extended vacation right now. That could always wait. Then Simon pulled out money to pay for her chocolate frog. "Simon, you don't have to pay for that. I have the money for it."

"I've been great, just very busy with a few things that have been going on." Simon sighed. "I haven't seen my cousin for ages and I'm worried about her and a few other things." Simon didn't know why he was telling Fallon this but she just trusted her. "I want to pay for them." Simon smiled as he give the money to the woman who ran the trolly.

Fallon smiled at the boy. "I missed you too Simon." He was probably the only younger kid besides her brother that she really tolerated. She wasn't going to say that out loud, but it should still make him feel special. "It as been ages hasn't it?" Of course it was. She wasn't at Hogwarts last term.
Fallon nodded as Simon explained. Then she felt really bad because of the whole not seeing his cousin thing. "Really? No one has any idea where she is?" That would just be insane. Fallon really felt genuine sympathy for the kid. She rolled her eyes. This kid was as stubborn as ever. "Fine. But I still don't think you should." She could be equally as stubborn.

Simon looked at Fallon. "It's been ages, I didn't see you at all last term, saying that I was ill quite a lot of last year." Simon looked at Fallon. "I did go looking for you but I couldn't see you anywhere." Simon sighed. "Where you busy last term?"
Simon sighed. "Nope, no one has seen her for around a year, though I only got told at the start of this holiday." Simon looked at Fallon and then realised she was being stubborn. "To late I already paid for it." Simon stuck out his tounge at Fallon.

She was a little embarrassed, perhaps even ashamed, that she was crying right now. She had told herself that she was going to be stronger on the subject. Must have been all the emotions flying around right now: the excitement of going back to school, the mystery revolving around this paper, talking about her past...it all could be very overwhelming for a 12-year-old.

Since he was still speechless, mostly because he didn't want to dare messing things up, he merely nodded as if accepting her 'Thanks'. It was the least he could do, since he had a feeling that he, Treyen Lockhart, had managed to make a little girl cry. If Aaron was here he'd probably laugh about it, if Arya was here, she'll be consoling the poor girl, surely.
And then...what? He laughed, very loudly (by the way) at her next comment, "You're probably right," he said, as he ventured another smile. Just, not one of those charming smiles. It was enough for today. Kurumi was a smart one, stating the obvious.
"Vashti is right, you know? You don't to worry," he said, with a nod, "I'd read about Nargles, instead, they don't exist but are very fun to read about," he winked, turning a couple pages on her magazine.
Why did he have the feeling she was already blaming someone for this? Er, never mind. She probably wasn't.
Kurumi's tears just got to him, that was all.
"I--don't know, perhaps they have a new Editor?" he had no idea who the former Editor was, so there was no real way of figuring that out. "Or...just forget I said anything? This is probably nothing," and he'd become a master at overreacting about little things and details, like Saylen wanting to have him dead? Yeah, that was soooo real.
"Here," he said, passing one along. She was a brave one, was she not?

He tossed a few more coins, picked up his copy and skimmed the front page. He started to feel like he wanted his 12 sickles back when he spotted something he thought he'd never have to read on paper again. Statute of Wizarding Secrecy. His frown deepened.

"Apparently they do, but they don't really exist, it's like...," a myth? a legend? No, Nargles weren't Chosens. "...something made up," yeah, clever, Lockhart boy.
As he looked up he noticed a familiar boy standing close to them, and...picking up another copy of The Quibbler. Yeah, Treyen didn't know this paper was that popular nowadays. AND...Oh? Salander was frowning, while reading it! He certainly hoped Kurumi didn't catch this. Treyen wanted to hint Salander to knock it off, but he didn't know how to do it without gaining Kurumi's attention.
So, instead, he made Kurumi focus on the paper even more.

"Or, perhaps they are like Pogrebins and can blend with the environment really well?" Add another thing on her list of things to research.
Vashti smiled a little as Kurumi seemed to recover from her tears. And she was right, a smile did suit Treyen a lot better than that panicked look he'd been wearing. She took the edition that Treyen handed her, shrugging at his suggestions so as not to interrupt his and Kurumi's conversation about nargles, then dug around in her pocket for those twelve sickles. She was probably not going to get any candy after paying for this, but that was okay. Going without anything in her stomach for a few more hours wouldn't kill her.
It was as she laid the coins on the trolley that she noticed Salander not too far away, also looking at the Quibbler and appearing a little unsettled. Well that wasn't good. Was it the same thing that had bothered Kurumi, the Statute of Secrecy? Vashti bit her lip, a little bit worried now. Maybe there really was something strange going on here. But what was it? What was it about the Statute that was upsetting people?

Why did everyone have to stand here and talk? couldn't they do that in they'r compartments? she thought to herself. This really looked impossible.. She tried to squeeze through the crowd, to get to the trolley. "Uhm.. A box of Every Flavoured Beans, and two Pumpkin Pasties, please"
Katelynn dropped the coins on to they trolley, and tried to squeeze out. But as clumsy as she was, she fell over, and all of her newly bought candy fell out of her arms. I don't suppose I'm so lucky that nobody saw that? she thought, laying there on the floor.
Vashti had little time to dwell upon these thoughts though when she suddenly saw a girl a year or two younger than her suddenly fall and lose the candy she must've just bought. Folding the Quibbler over so she could better carry it in one hand, she made her way over, getting down on one knee and extending her free hand to the girl.
"Need some help?" she asked with a gentle smile.

She turned back to all the sweets, grabbing various types of candy. "Ah, I see." Evangeline said, placing the strange looking magazine back down. Weird. Yet another thing to make her feel like the British were very strange. "So, what year are you in?" She asked, because the girl seemed around Evangeline's age.
"It's Evangeline Benford, by the way." She introduced.
Melanie grabbed a a few chocolate frogs, and a licorice wand, simply because she'd never had one before. Pulling a small handful of coins out, she paid for the candy as well as the strange looking magazine, before turning back to the girl who'd brought her attention to it. "Melanie Lockhart, 7th year Hufflepuff." she replied, after a moment of consideration. Might as well get introductions out of the way. "Nice to meet you Evangeline Benford. That's a pretty name. What year are you in? And which house?" she asked curiously, ripping open a chocolate frog as she spoke.
"Hmm," Kurumi murmured checking out the article a bit more. "Are you sure they don't exist? He...had no idea what to say now.
How could you prove something didn't exist? By proving the existence of facts that claimed otherwise. And there were no facts. "I...personally? I haven't seen them, and I've been around mistletoe, I mean, we all had, eventually, no?" because the Castle was always filled with that during Christmas time, and no, he didn't mean for mistletoe to the be the main issue here, but..., "I've never seen anything around mistletoe, seriously," unless boys and girls are Nargles gathered around mistletoe, but that was not the case, "Unless, they're like Thestrals, and that would explain why I can't see them," nor had he had any of belongings lost in the Common Room, perhaps it only happened to the ones staying up there on the Seventh Floor? So, Nargles don't like the grounds. And the Hufflepuff Common Room was by the Kitchens, therefore, no Nargles.
Pogrebins? "No, no, it says here that you can see them, though not as clearly as one could see an owl, for sure," sooooo, yeah, no Pogrebins. And she should think of less creepy creatures, by the way.
But, oh, she was probably thinking something was up, since his stance had changed and he was blocking her view of Salander. He wasn't falling for that. "I doubt it, Kurumi," but, really, was there a Nargle around?

Vashti had noticed too, about Salander, and in reality one always needed to worry whenever the Wizarding world started to talk about the Statute of Secrecy. Always. Worry. Yes. But Treyen didn't feel the need to worry about it. Unless Fletcher was involved, in which case Treyen would've already found out and would be fighting right by his side, or trying to get him out of whatever trouble he managed to get into.
He looked at her before glancing at the paper again. And now she was helping someone else?
See, no need to worry about the Statute, just worry about the girl who dropped the candy.
