Ava Jade laughed. "Yeah, Potions is alright. I'm pretty good at it, but not thaaat great... My favorites are Defense Against the Dark Arts and Flying, for sure! Not only are they my strongest subjects, but I also have the most fun learning about them." That was probably also why they were her best subjects... She usually wasn't very good at things that bored her. As much as she loved to learn, she always excelled at a cruelly slow pace when trying to pick up a subject that she wasn't interested in. "Divination is the worst, though," she continued, making a face. "That and History of Magic will be the death of me for O.W.L.s next year."

Caroline laughed. she listened to Ava Jade tell her what her favorite classes are. "yeah, I know what you mean. Im dreading those owls." Altought she did like flying but She had never gone to the class before. she started flying around the time she started walking so she didnt see a point of going to flying class. "divination, forget about, I have no clue about that class"

Ava Jade laughed at her comment. "I totally sympathize! I try and I try, but none of it makes sense to me! I swear, Bishop probably hates me. Even if I wanted to study Divination all my life, I couldn't understand it, or even the point of it. It's horrible!" She stuck out her tongue.

Caroline nodded, "Oh my gosh I know. I totally make uo stuff while we are in the class. Its funny that way, and makes the class go by faster" She laughed. finally she found someone else who completely didnt undersrand or understand the point of Dinination. "So what else do you like?"

"I like Charms pretty well," Ava Jade replied. "A little boring sometimes, but it's kind of cool too. I love learning new spells, so I can't really dislike it!" She laughed. "So do you usually go to Hogsmeade?"

Caroline smiled and replied "Yes, everytime there's a weekend that we go I go" She laughed "I like charms, I just dont like going to the class, or really any class" she laughed again.

Sophia rolled her eyes, playfully. "In your dreams." she said, laughing. "We all know that Gryffindor is best." she said, smirking. Although the Slytherins were pretty cool, but there is no way that she would say that out loud.

She smiled. "Yep, that sounds exactly like him." she said, smirking. "He is really nice." she said, nodding her head. Sophia hadn't been to Hogsmeade since like January of last year. It was crazy that she hadn't been in so long, but she needed to go. "WAIT WHAT?!" she asked, her eyes wide. "You have a boyfriend?!?!?!?!?!" she asked, stunned. She hadn't seen Fee for so long, but wow. "Who is he?" she asked, happily. "Congrats Fee!" she said, hugging her friend.

"Yeah, I'm the same way about Hogsmeade!" Ava Jade said enthusiastically. "I love it! I wouldn't miss it for the world." She heard Caroline's next comment about class and feigned surprise. "You don't like class?" Laughing, she continued, "I actually kind of like going to class -- except for History of Magic and Divination, of course..."

Burrowed into her black winter coat, yellow and black scarf wrapped up to the top of her ears, the short Hufflepuff squinted at the piece of parchment crinkled in her gloved hands.

Okay, okay, I can do this, Wesley said to herself, a pep-talk before the big game. I can do this. Squatting down, she pulled a silver pocket watch from her pocket and placed it on the frosted cobblestone.

Focus. I am going to turn this pocket watch into a compass. It is going to be a simple compass, and I am going to keep the watch's shape the same, and erase all the numbers except for the 12, which I will turn into an N for North. And the minute hand will disappear, and the hour hand will become the pointer

Simple. Simple.

Taking a breath, Wesley pointed her wand at the watch. Then she moved it, at first in a cross - top to bottom, left to right - into a circle all around and finally, ending with a poke in the middle of the protective glass covering, "Com-LET-e-AH!" The words were muffled against the fabric of her scarf, but they were still concise, and her concentration was absolute.

A compass lay where a pocket watch had been, and eagerly, Wesley lifted it to her face. The magnetic needle was wavering to the left, pointing in the direction of the, Welsey swiveled, lining it up with the N, the library.

Perfect. A delighted smile crept across her face. It was per-

Wait. What was that noise? The brunette scrunched up her nose, listening. It almost sounded like ticking...

UH OH. She hadn't covered that in her visualization, and now, and now she had a ticking compass to pay for her oversight. This was bad - really bad. How could she make it stop? Quietia? Silencio? Stoptickingous? Wesley giggled despite herself; were those even real spells?

No, no, she had to think outside the box. She had to think - the Hufflepuff surreptitiously looked both ways, checking for potential witnesses - she had to-

"Sorry,"Wesley whispered to the compass, before smacking it against the stone ground. It must have been a good little whack, because the ticking stopped.

Now, finally, though slightly dented, it was perfect. The 16-year-old remained still, gloating with cheated success, but not for long with the freezing temperature. Reluctantly, a little sentimental and a little cold, she untransfigured her masterpiece. Pocketing the (now silent) watch once more, Wesley looked around, trying to figure out where to go next. Perhaps, perhaps, the lake. That sounded about right, and so the sixth year marched off.

Tyrone smiled softly. "Really" He was going to let Jamie have first pick of the litter, and if none appealed to her, then he would do the same thing with the next litter too.

"Yeah. She is something special. I haven't had too many good things happen to me. Getting her, and meeting you" Tyrone looked away from Jamie then, findint a loose thread on his robes more interesting. "They are two things that have ever truely made made me smile openly like you have seen"

It was true, there were very few times when he would be smiling and laughing the way he had been since the Feast.

"Oh thank you so much." Jamie hugged him. She was going to have a cat of her very own. As he looked away she blushed. She was one of his best things. She looked down at the tin of cookies. "Well I'm glad I'm one of the two things that make you smile." She traced the circle. "You are one of the greatest things thats happened to me too you know. I thought I was going to be friendless and not fit in anywhere but you changed that." She laughed. "That and you make me proud to be in Slytherin." He was one of the few people she trusted and she felt lucky to have him.

Pfffssssssshhh. Was Sophia trying to battle Fee? tehe, they were freakky friends, But still she loved the lioon."Ahhh come on we know who is the best",she wiggled her eyebrows.What a pitty they werent in the same house.That would be sooooo fun, just hanging around at the common room.

Alex was really nice? Ohhhhhhh another fanclub member? Come one Sophia dont do that to you Slythie friend.Hehe.Awww it was so cute how the Gryffie was happy for Fee.After she had made it through the break up with Edmond it made her feel really good, that her friend cared so much."His name is Hugo Doyle and he is a Ravenclaw",the second year explained,"he is soo cute really."Hugging the girl back the Slytherin remembered how Hugo had told her about his feelings. Happy sigh.

Sophia smirked. We all know Gryffindor is best, but if I weren't a Gryffindor, I would want to be a Slytherin. she said, smiling. She loved the snakes, but come on. Lions could take them any day Sometimes she wished that she had been a Slytherin, because then she could hang out with Fee and Alex in the common room. That would have been fun, but she loves her Gryffies.

She smiled when she heard about the snake's boyfriend. Although, the lion hadn't recalled meeting him. Oh well. "I think I have seen him around the school, but I have never formally met him." she said, explained. "I will have to meet him one of these days." she said, smiling. Hmmm, Sophia should find a boyfriend.

Nika wandered into the corridor leading to the courtyard. She needed somewhere to practice her transfiguration homework. She was planning on going to the courtyard and practicing there, but she couldn't wait! "Okay Nika you can do this! It's easy just think." She cleared her mind the best she could and put away the lingering thoughts of her confusing potions assignment. She took a deep breath and took out the watch from her pocket. It had been sitting in there for a day now. She was upset that her first attempt of practice didn't go very well and so she left it for later. But Nika was not a quitter!

She played with the big pocket watch in her hands. Wrapping the golden chain around her fingers. "Nika, just imagine what you want the compass to look like" It seemed easy enough. Nika just needed to focus. Something in which she had a lot of trouble doing. She took another deep breath and closed her eyes. "Start simple", she told herself. "Okay, when I say the spell I will no longer be holding a watch. In it's place will be a compass. Instead of a big shape it will be no bigger than the size of my palm."

She whispered comletia. And looked down at first a bit frightened of what the watch would turn out to look like. She let out a sigh of relief when she saw that it had turned into the same gray compass that she had made before. But this time it had shrunk by many intervals. It was a bit smaller than her palm and she could easily close her fist around it. "Well I guess it's a start." She turned it back into the same watch as before and pocketed it. She smiled to herself while heading on her way to the courtyard.

"Point Me."

These were the words Jake muttered to his wand as he held it on the palm of his hand. It swung around to face true north, and Jake followed it arround. He wasn't REALLY cheating. He was just... facing North so he didn't have to worry about focusing too hard on the functionality of the compass without his help. After all, if he was going to be stranded and needing to transfigure a watch to a compass, he'd have a watch and he'd be able to use the four point spell just the once.

So... yeah.

Shuddup.

Clearing his throat, Jake held his wand properly again and took the watch out of his pocket, which he'd turned back to its original form. After a few attempts (he kept forgetting the wand movement and having to check) Jake finally cast "Comletia!" and had a compass like the one from earlier. Except for the fact that it was bronze again, and the inside, where the letters were, was a lot more pronounced. Even the glass looked fancy. Aside from these differences... Jake could see that it now had a simple line engraved around the edge.

That would... do?

But he had a compass.

A fully functional, correct, albeit plain, compass!

Walking up and down the corridor, turning every now and then, Jake checked to see that the needle was moving properly, even using 'four points' to check again.

Perfect!

Next up, focusing on getting the needle to point towards the true direction of North without HIM facing that way.

Swinging the watch back into his pocket, Jake strolled to the courtyard, conjuring up little bluebirds as he went. :3

It seemed that she had done a complete circle of the castle's grounds seeing how she was now back to where she had started. At least she knew that the compasses had worked and she had not gotten lost while following its directions.

So now Mia was feeling a little more confident especially after the last compass she had managed to conjure but she couldn't get too cocky either. Wouldn't want to destroy all the hard work she had already done.

With one last breath, she made the wand movements once again.

Top to bottom.

Left to right.

Circle.

And jab.

"Comletia." She said with a strong and confident tone and when Mia looked down, she raised her eyebrows.

Oookay.

This compass looked like one of those you would find on a boat. Oh well, sailors needed to know where they were going to. With a small grin on her face and deep sigh of relief, Mia headed back inside the castle.

Having been too frustrated to continue her walk around the grounds, Evelyn made her way up to the castle anyway, deciding that she was going to use that chocolate excuse. During her walk though, she had shaken, thrown, and banged the compass against ANYTHING...to try and get it to work.

But, unfortunately, it didn't.

She had thought it decided to work for a moment or so, but then figured that it was just moving from when she banged it on a tree. Muggles used these items didn't they? When they didn't have that one spell that wizards had that was pretty much like a compass itself? But you used your wand instead?

Well, NO WONDER she couldn't get this right. It was all..muggle-ish. She had a muggle item in her hand! MEEP! "Reverto!"

Wait...muggles used watches too didn't they!? She was surrounded by muggle things! At least these watches weren't all that bad. Wizards used them too if they wanted to, but the compass. Ohhhh ho the compass...she had to do something about that. Personalize it maybe. Make it, not so muggle looking. Like...

"Comletia." Cross, circle, and jab!

Like this! Now this, you wouldn't find in the muggle world unless a muggle happened to know that design from their muggleborn son or daughter. Still though, this was probably, one of a kind! A unique Slytherin compass, complete with letters and arrow thingies that pointed North. Or at least was supposed to point North. It was...pointing west?

Hmm, maybe she can blame all the magic around the school was effecting the compass signal. Did compasses have signals? Or...or she could blame the chocolate again interfering with her studies. That was a good excuse, yup. Huh, now which Professor to complain to?

Definitely the thought that was running through her mind as she made her way back into the castle's warmth, and away from the chilly winter weather air.

Ohhhh how coool was that?! Sophie had chosen Slytherin second place.Awww."Same here"Fee nodded," i love Gryffindor but i belong to Slytherin."Gryffindiors were awesome people and if the hat had send her to the liosn the blonde wouldnt have been too sad. Spending time with Rubies,Kurumi,Adam,Rex and Sophia at the common room. That would have been a huge party.Hehe.

Ohh yees right,Sophia hadnt met Hugo yet. Maybe they could go down to Hogsmeade together next time it opened."He is pretty shy",she smiled thinking about him,"but what if we go to the three broomsticks sometime?"Hugo wouldnt feel pressured and they wpuld have a fun day.

Tyrone smiled. He loved it when he could make someone else feel good about themselves and their situations. It was one of the reasons that he didn't really mind what happened to him. As long as others were happy. "I'm glad to see you're liking the House better. There's nothing better than having a friend that can make you like something that you hated." he smiled his big wide grin that only Jamie had ever seen. Tyrone was planning to keep it that way too.

Jamie beamed at his big smile. "Well I love having a friend like you. I don't know what I'd do without you." She blushed and looked down again. Seven years of having him would be great. She looked at him and said without thinking, "I like it when you smile. You just light up and it is infectious. It makes me want to smile." She always liked to smile. If she didn't smiled that would be a bad thing. "So have you met anybody else you can consider a good close friend?" She couldn't remember if she had asked him or not but she was going to again if she did.

Evan gave a small smile when she practically yelled it was alright. Nodding as she went on to talk about her Hogwarts experince, he grinned. "I'm glad you like it here," he commented. "I've loved here since I first came.. four years ago." How he'd begged his parents to send him over here, and now he didn't even want to return to home if it wasn't for the football.

Frowning at her frown a bit, he cocked his head to right. "Not fond of our Muggle friends, are we?" he questioned with a small chuckle. He understood. Every wizard kid that had to attend Muggle schools were treated the same were. It all changed once in Hogwarts.

Running a hand through his hair to think for a second, he said "Well, yeah... we're planning something." He wasn't supposed to tell this to anyone though, right? Seeing it wasn't even discussed properly?

"Not that it's something you shouldn't know... you'll learn eventually." It was a party after all, and there'd be brochures everywhere. "It's a surprise, you see." He gave her a wink. He knew, being a girl, she'd be elated with the idea.

Elle gave him a smirk and raised her brows. "A surprise I see." She giggled. "I'm excited for that."

"Four years? So you began at Hogwarts.." doing the math in her mind, "in your Second Year!" She smiled. Elle made a mental note to herself that she would be nice to fellow Slythies, but students from other Houses, watch out. You would never know when she would burst into flames (impatience and mood swings).

Conan stood waiting in the corridor. He probably looked like a right weirdo. In his costume. But he was doing the polite thing and waiting for his date. He had to remember what he had learnt from the movies. So he had a pretty rose. He wasn't going to tell the groundskeeper he had cut it from the garden. Nope not at all.

Sierra turned and glanced into the mirror situated on one of the walls in the girls' dormitory. She looked just fine--she hoped--and so she took a deep breath and ascended the stairs leading into the Slytherin Common Room.

She quickly exited the room and then headed down the corridor and toward the place she'd agreed to meet Conan at--the Corridor to the Courtyard. This tea party would technically be her very first date, even though the owl from the Hufflepuff boy had worded things a bit differently.

Male person thingy--that had been his word for date, and if Sierra was being completely honest with herself, the usage of that term was perfectly fine by her. She didn't quite know if she was ready to use the big D-word just yet.

Her low heels (she hadn't mastered the art of walking in high heels yet) click-clacked against the corridor as she made her way closer to Conan. She wasn't nervous--not really. He was just a boy, after all. She sat in class with them all the time. "Hey, Conan," she greeted, stepping up to his side.

Conan rocked on his heels as he waited for his girl. Was she his? No this wasn't a date. It was an invitation to a party. Big difference. So what if he had a rose, and was completely nervous. His tummy was all over the place. She was just a girl.

He heard heel clacks behind him, and turned. His mouth dropped open. Pretty girl. Now he felt stupid dressed as Robin Hood. But that was the only English history he knew.

"S...s...s...Sierra," he stammered, smiling at her. Now the next thing to say. Brain engage. "Hi." Ok. Well done. Now the rose. You have the rose. "I..uh... got you this." He held out the rose in front of him. Yes that was for her.
