Tyrone let out a breath he didn't realise ha had beed holding. He was grateful that Jamie wasn't creeped out by his little slip. Softy. Made him sound weak and defenceless. Well, that could be easily fixed with a few well aimed... Better not go down that road. "I like it. Petal and Softy. Fixing Trouble's mess since First Year" He smiled at her and petted Jewels softly.

Jamie smiled and agreed with a nod. "I know right?" She then laughed. "You know you don't have to take the nickname. You can choose your own. I just really like Petal." She ate another cookie and smiled happily.

"Well, since I chose your name for you, I figured iit was only fair that you chose mine. And hey, if you think of something that may suit me better, then I shall change it. For now though, Softy is the name I shall use" Tyrone smiled at her and watched Jewels as she decided to wake up and start bounding around, chasing an imaginary insect. He started laughing.

Jamie smiled and said, "Well I'll think it over and maybe I'll find something to suit you just a little better." She watched as Jewels jumped and swatted and she stifled a giggle. She closed the tin of cookies. "I love your cat. One of these days I'm going to steal her away from you and keep her forever."

"Tell me about it" Hyun said with a deep sigh when Ellie said that hunger was the greatest distraction. And she was right. He nodded too and grinned stupidly when she laughed.

He took a bite from the sugar quill and he looked ....disgusted.
"Ah, this is horrible!" he sputtered, frowning as he took the quill away. He looked at Ellie and saw she hadn't taken a bite either. "You don't like it too? ..to be honest i have never had this type of candy before, father thought i would like it " he looked at the quill . " He even send me a whole box! bleeh!" he stuck his tongue out in disgust.

Sooo, what was he suppose to do about the quill? Eating it was disgusting, giving it to Ellie was a no no because he had taken a bite from it. Hyun looked around to find a carbage can but found none, was he suppose to make it dissapear with magic? He didn't know any to make things dissapear so he glanced around and secretly threw the sugar quill behind him.

"So , uhm... how are you liking Hogwarts?" he asked, feeling strange for some reason.

"I'm sorry," Eirian apologized sincerely. "Did you see them after that?" It must be so terrible to know other things separated you from your parents than death. Death was final. There was no going around it. But if they lived on... What if's would dance forever in Eiri's head. More than they already did; that much she knew.

Fallon nodded. That was usually the common response to people hearing about her parents divorce. She was kind of tired of it actually."Yeah. My mom moved with us. I live with my dad and my little brother now." She loved living with them so much more. Less rules and more fun. Plus, she got to watch her little brother grow up. She couldn't believe that he would already be going to Hogwarts in two terms.

Ellie was about to take a bite of the candy quill until Hyun looked like he was ready to spit it out. She laughed a little at his reaction. "I don't know, I've never had it before. Buuut, I trust your reaction enough to not try it." Some things in life were better left un-tried. She laughed as he threw it behind him. Subtle. She held her quill in front of her. She pursed her lips and pulled out her wand. "Evanesco." She muttered and *poof*, it was gone.

She looked up at Hyun. "There. An easy way to get rid of the whole box. Ooor, you could trick a couple first years into eating them." She suggested with a devious wink. Not a bad idea. Firsties were always fun to mess with.

Ellie smiled. "Hogwarts is great." She nodded. "It's had its ups and downs already, but over all it's been really good." Ellie tended to look past the bad things... Well, most of the time. "And what about you, huh? You having a good time?" She asked, poking him lightly in the arm.

A smile reappeared on Eirian's face, and she nodded. "That is good," she assessed. "You sound happy about it... It makes me glad." With another serene grin, Eiri looked around and, with a spring, sat herself up on the windowsill. "Family is an important thing to have..." If only she had one. No, now she was one of those annoying people who identified their friends as their family; Eirian noticed the people who said that never had a real family. In her opinion, blood ties were unbreakable, unlike friendship. And that... That was important.

Fallon smiled. "I am. I like living with my dad. He's a much better cook." And food was important to her. Even though most people didn't know that. The girl like to eat. Fallon watched as Eiri jumped up on the window sill. She could tell something didn't seem to be right with her. "You all right?"

Eiri chuckled. "That is something I had to learn for myself," she commented. "Cooking... I am a good chef, but only if I have something spicy to work with. Otherwise, everything I make is ridiculously bland." Brazilian cooking had made Eirian's metabolism extremely fast, but it had also crippled her in her culinary skills. "I am fine," Eiri assured Fallon. "I miss my family sometimes, but I... have friends..."

Fallon nodded. "I've been trying to learn. It hasn't turned out so well." Her food just never turned out that great. She was going to have to learn how to cook eventually. Especially since she didn't plan to live with her dad for long after she graduated. She was going to travel the world.

Fallon cracked a slight smile. "Sometimes friends really can help you get through things." She loved her best friends. They were always there for her and always knew how to help.

Jaina had walked down to the lake to enjoy the view and take in some sun. The days had gotten cooler, but you could still enjoy them. Since there was no school on this day, she was wearing some jeans and a blue t-shirt with a black zipper hoodie. She sat on a blue blanket she had brought out and laid on ground. Her blue messenger bag sitting at one corner of it with her sketchbook and pencil sitting out of it just a bit. She had her book, Much Ado About Nothing, in her hand, but she wasn't reading it. She was mulling over everything that had happened since starting school. The cool autumn breeze blew through her red curls and she closed her blue eyes. Why can't it just stay like this forever? she thought.

"Maybe I can help," Eirian suggested, smiling. "I make mean curry." Mean... Was that the expression? Hopefully... "Did I say that right?" Urgh... She hated being so ignorant. "Yeah... I know the feeling. But I do not like depending so much on people... It has gotten me in bad places. Very bad places."

"Especially when the leaves turn at this time of year," Isabelle smiled, turning her head to look at the giant trees that lined the edge of the Forbidden Forest. Several of them were dropping leaves of all sorts of rich colours. Very pretty. "I'm sure there are many other ways, eh? But you're welcome."

As well? That comment set Isabelle thinking on who else on the staff was from her home country. The fact she had yet to meet all of them, didn't help with that task. So she decided to ask. "Who else is from there? I must confess I don't know everyone yet." Hmm, no. It was nothing she did. But she bit her lip before responding to his words. "No. It's a rather sensitive matter to do with my brother-in-law's family. The children being young and magical is not exactly conducive to in-the-dark-about-magic muggles." And their grandparents were confused enough about not seeing the kids, to take them out the country and over to see her would seem even stranger.

"It's always good to have friends around you. Sometimes they can become like family." Isabelle smiled warmly, and noted the wink. He seemed to be trying to make light of his comment, so she wouldn't ask why or where. Mind you, she wished she had good friends around her - she'd been far too busy lately to make any.

Sophia chuckled. "I have met a bunch of transfer students." she said, smirking slightly She hadn't met any of the new firsties, but it was hard to believe that she was that small last year. Well, she had definatly gotten taller.

She hugged Fee tightly and said "I am done crying." It was true. She had cried the entire summer. Besides, Alexandra wouldn't have wanted her to be sad. She would have wanted her to party and have a good time, like they used to. "Thanks." she said, quietly. She was holding back tears at this point. She was getting all choked up at what Fee was saying. It was nice to know that her friend cared so much.

Selina walked out of the Courtyard and back to the castle. Her Tarot reading with Violet was... enlightening. And by that she meant terrifying. The omens were not good and she was scared.

She jammed her hand in her pockets in frustration. She recoiled in pain as she withdrew the source of it. It was the watch she had gained in Transfiguration. At this point she wanted to throw it from hurting her hand. She was going through a lot and she did not need the extra frustration. But then she remembered she needed it for practice.

So she withdrew her wand and pointed it at the watch, "Comletia!"

She concentrated much harder than her previous times. She needed to do something that would deviate from her current issues. In her head she began to shape what she wanted the compass to look like and behold it did.

The third time she had practiced proved to be the best yet. The compass was red and beautiful. It was larger than the previous tries and had a glimmer of magic about it. She would trust that compass to escape any trouble she was in. Of course her present trouble did not warrant this kind of help from a compass.

"Me too",Fee nodded,"my best friend is a transfer."Thanks to Katie and her house being were it was they had met.That day really had changed the blonde's life.What would she do without Alex now?!Better not to think about it.

The Slytherin just hugged her friend tightly.At this point she never wanted to let her go again."Weelll we should do something to cheer you up",she winked,"what about Hogsmeade?"Maybe they would even meet Hugo.Yeah, she missed him.Always.

Tyrone laughed. "Maybe I'll let her have kittens and you can get first pick." he smiled. At least Jamie was going to reconsider his name. Tyrone beckoned Jewels ovver and put a hand in his pocket as he did so. When the cat was sitting at his feet flicking her tail at the disturbance, he tossed a small treat in the ari and watched as the kitten leapt gracefully and caught it in her mouth before walking away, satisfied. "I love her. She is one of the best things that has ever happened to me."

"Really?!?!" Jamie would love to have a cat all her own to cuddle with and snuggle with and love. She could already see how everything would all work out. "One of the best thing?" Jamie was now curious. What else could've been a best thing to happen to him?

Elle strolled, book in hand. The strong winds whipped her red hair to her face, causing disturbances to her sight. Getting a small scrunchie, she tied her hair up in a high ponytail neatly.

"Where can I read my book with enough sun?"

And there, she spotted the perfect place at the middle of the corridor. With no one there, she sat on the ledge of the window, opened her book and began reading one of Gilderoy Lockhart's books.

Not wanting to be disturbed, Elle was totally engrossed in her book.

Whistling a tune he shouldn't even think of except for the times to make fun of West Ham United, Evan was walking to the courtyard with a football in his hand as he imagined he saw something that he hoped he hadn't seen in the hands of a fellow Slytherin. He halted at his spot, thought for a while, and then took a few steps back to the girl. Bending down, he stuck his neck out towards the book in her lap as he read the writer out loud: "Gilderoy Lockhart." A disgusted look appeared on his face. "Please don't tell me you are a fan girl too."

Not that the man was dead for... seventy? years. No. He knew you could fall in love with the legends--if you could call him a legend, of course--he was in fact a fan of big footballer Pelé. Nope, what disgusted him was that a Slytherin had such tastes to like him.

Because clearly he had been nothing more than a charlatan.

Herminny headed out to the court yard after class. She had put away most her books and really just wanted to relax. Usually she would go to the lake or the pathways but today was different. She just felt like doing something different. She found a nice area of the courtyard with a nice view of the giant water fountain and took out a a book on animagus and began to read.

Heading out the castle was the first thing, Orlando did when done with classes. Today was no different! Waling out the corridor, he loosened his tie - a bit lost in his own world.

Ahh .. fresh air!

He decided he better enjoy all that he could right now, seeing as so much homework was piling up. He needed to catch up - if he wished to make it through the term. Seeing a fellow Gryffindor, walking passed him - Lando passed a small smile. He knew her, she was Chloe - he had met her at the Quidditch pitch.

"Heyy .." he casually greeted.

Chloe looked up from her book and saw a rather familiar face and said, "He lando, how ya been. I was just reading a book about animagus, I find them facinating.".
