Selina waked into the cramped broom shed filled to the brim with old brooms. It made her sad to think of her own firebolt sitting at home next to her father's broom. But rules were rules and they were meant to be obeyed. So Selina went to work looking for a broom. Preferably a firebolt.

After several minutes of shifting through the brooms Selina realized not one firebolt was in sight. She thought back to what her father had always told her "when you don't have a firebolt get a Nimbus." At home she had flown one of her father's Nimbus brooms when she was younger, but it was not her most used broom. She had to admit though, it was fast and she was good on it. Why had she then been so stuck on using her Firebolt?

She then looked around for the newest Nimbus she could find. Finally, she settled on a broom and pulled down her goggles that were situated on the top of her head. Time to practice.

Heather reluctantly walked into the dilapidated broom shed and picked up a descent looking broom. She wasn't sure what to do with it from here, so she just walked out and to the Quidditch Pitch.



A few minutes later she walked back into the broomshed and returned it to its original niche. She turned and walked out.

Sadie walked along the frozen looking, bumpy ground. This ground was so uneven! She wore a purple pea coat with a green scarf and gloves. It was late November and she was really wishing the sky would give into the weather and snow already. The blonde arrived at the broomshed and turned the knob. The door creaked open as she swung it and she carefully walked in trying to avoid knocking into a broom.

She let the door stay open and wandered about, wondering which sort of broom would work best. It was a shame she had arrived back here after Quidditch tryouts. She was rather looking forward to them. A breath of warm air came out of her mouth and she saw it in the chilly air. Hmm...she needed to find a decent, non-crappy looking one.

Vindictus spent most of the prior day getting everything ready for the second flying lesson of the term - the entire shed was swept, brooms that were to be used for the lesson were against one wall, and supplies were stacked neatly on the work table.

Now that it was nearing time for the lesson to start, he picked up his wand and pointed it at the magical chalkboard. A message appeared for all to see:

Broom Mechanics


He tucked his wand away and sat down to await the arrival of students.

Helena walked towards the broomshed for the next flying lesson. What were they doing there, anyway? She really hoped they weren't going to fly this lesson but... well, it was a flying lesson. Of course they're going to fly.

Broom mechanics? Uhh...

"Hello, professor," Helena said, smiling, even though... Just thinking about mechanics... But yeah, she was smiling. Being positive.

"Good day, Professor," Kurumi said bowing slightly as she she approached the broomshed. She took a nervous glance at the brooms and hoped that there wasn't going to be any giant cupcakes this lesson. It had taken her close to a month to get all the frosting out of her hair.

"Good day," Vindictus cheerfully greeted to those who had arrived. "Grab a broom and find a seat around the work table."



OOC: I'm off to work. Please feel free to post doing what Vindictus just said. Please keep your chatter to a minimum and I'll resume posting around 10pm EST after I get home (can't play on SS while at work).

A broom? And sit at the work table? Whaaaat are they going to do?

Maybe... learn how to make a broom? Probably not.

Helena grabbed a broom and sat down at the work table, just like professor Vindictus told them to do. She couldn't wait for the lesson to start. Curiosity was killing her.

"Hello Professor" Caroline sat as she walked to the broom shed to pick up a broom. She came back with her broom in hand. She sat down at a work table beside the first year Slytherin she had met at the last quidditch match. "Hello Helena. Mind if I sit with you? She asked with a smile. Helena was like the little sister she always wanted.

Helena was still waiting for the lesson to start, so she was a bit... dreamy. Until she heard a voice she really didn't expect. She looked up and smiled, as she recognized the girl. "Oh, hey Caroline! Of course I don't."

But... "I didn't know you were taking flying lessons." Hopefully, her curiosity wasn't too annoying.

Jaina was so excited to learn more about the brooms and flying. She retrieved a broom and sat down at the table. She looked around for Belle, Charley, Alice, and Ben. She made sure she saved seats for all of them.

Okay. So, the boy arrived just in time to hear Vindictus say the thing about the broom. Good timing.

"Hey there, Professor," he greeted with a smile, and entered the Broomshed. He still didn't understand why they couldn't take their own broom, though, really, if they all worked with the same ones then it was easier to impart the lesson, not to mention they'll have the same possibilities when it came to having a broom.

So, yeah, he was understanding that now.

The boy took one of the broomsticks and...

...his eyes wandered off to Kurumi, "I'm sitting next to you in this lesson, hope you don't mind." He said, giving her a smile.

Caroline smiled back and took the seat beside her. "How are you doing?She asked. Yeah It was kind of weird that a fifth year who knows how to fly was taking flying lesson, but she loves flying so much and takes any chance she gets to be on or near a broom. "Yeah, I take all the flying classes since my first year what can I say I love flying." She laughed.

Helena's mouth twitched into a smile, then spoke, trying to keep her voice down, so professor Vindictus won't mind. "I'm good. Feeling a bit... weird, actually, but good." Uhhh she was blushing. "How about you?"

She liked that much flying? "Wow... I can't say I love that much flying like you do." Well... Helena was afraid, actually. "But... I guess I have to learn how to use this," she said, glancing at the broom she grabbed earlier.

Selina walked into the broom shed- more like ran. Her favorite class was flying, mostly because it was the one class with certainty that she knew she could perform well in. She had been flying since she was two with her Dad. So it had a sentimental part to the class.

Once she was in the shed she saw that Vindictus had not even started yet. She calmed down from all of her running. As soon as she caught her death he commented for them all to take a broom. She looked around the shed for usual broom- the Nimbus. There weren't that many of them, but she knew which one was the broom that he always used for games and practice. It was a nimbus that had a scratch on the handle in the shape of a triangle.

After shifting through many brooms that were not even Nimbus' she found the broom that she always used. Holding in her hand it was warm at the familar touch. Sh them say at the table like Vindictus had instructed.

Hmm...the professor was rather cheerful today, now wasn't he? Well, she supposed he had reason to be. If her house had just won a rather competitive Quidditch match, she might be going around smiling a lot, too.

Sierra, though, had always been sort of leery of overly-cheerful people. They usually had something up their sleeves, or they either wanted something from someone else. That line of thinking was just based on her personal experiences, though, so one couldn't exactly tell whether Vindictus was sincere or not.

Just in case, she gave the man a small, polite smile as she reached for a broom and then found a seat around the work table.

Usually Jacob would fact illness if he saw that Professor Vindictus was having class in the broom shed instead of the practice pitch. Cause more times than not, that meant they were going to be cleaning brooms. But Broom Mechanics seemed interesting, was it like the spells used to get it to fly, or was it a trap... just trying to get the class to sound interesting, but all the sudden it will turn out to just be Broom Care class again. Or a written Test like the final exam was a few terms ago.

Jacob entered the class, and with a simple "Hello, Professor" Jacob took a broom and put it in front of him on the work table. And repeated in his head over and over 'Please don't be boring, please don't be boring...'

Luin walked into the broom-shed timidly and cautiously because from the outside it did not look that stable. She looked around the place and then sat down a bit further off from some of the people there. She found the professor and quickly said, "Hello Professor" and then balanced her bag on her knee, ready to take out a parchment and quill in case it was needed. She saw the brooms in there and wondered what they would be doing in class today.

Work table...were they going to try and put a broom together? Kurumi wandered over to the table as instructed, but felt as if there were a million butterflies pounding in her stomach. Flying was the one class that she could never really get the hang of - and Selina could attest to that.

She would be a pretty terrible witch if she couldn't fly in a straight line, right?

Fiddling with her hands, Kurumi was too lost in nervous thoughts to have been paying too much attention to her surroundings, which is exactly when she fell over backwards when Treyen spoke.

"WOOOOOOOOAH!" she squeaked. Aaaaaaaaaaaand, she was flat on her back looking up and probably would have been looking up the Hufflepuff boy's nose had he not been showing off one of his sparkly smiles again.

Rolling onto her side, she somehow managed to pull herself together enough that she was back in her seat before too many people noticed...hopefully.

"O-O-Okay," she blushed looking back at him.

Flying Lessons.... in the broomshed....which means--

-- we may not even need to fly today! WOOT!

Salander strolled casually into the shed, just as the Flying Professor was giving out instructions "Greetin's Professor V." he said nodding to the older man and read what was written on the board, broom mechanics, yup definitely sounds like his feet will stay nicely planted on the ground.

He grabbed one of the school brooms and made his way towards the work bench, settling near Sierrra, Kurumi and Treyen

Whaaaaat?!

His eyes widened, if she falling while being on the ground...then...er, it was probably better that Professor Vindictus didn't let them fly today.

"You okay?" he asked, frowning only a bit, though, she seemed to be, because almost instantly she was seating as if nothing actually happened. Ah! Blushing. Yes. She was probably embarrassed for falling, right?

He was about to smile again, but DIDN'T. "Brilliant, I'll keep you from falling again," he said, with one nod and a small liiiittle smile...and then took a seat next to her. Finally.

And someone else seemed to sort of join them. "Hey Salander, what's up?" he said, one nod, no smiles. Ha. He was no Fletcher.

Waaait.

Salander! He had to ask the boy something!

After class. Of course. And at this point his face was much more pleased with his presence here.

Ellie liked the broomshed. She really did. It smelled so...broomy. And Quidditchy....

Ey, it's not THAT weird... Right?

Right.

She... didn't hear Vindictus' instructions...BUT she followed the crowd and got a broom off the rack before taking...a seat...somewhere.

Emily entered the broom shed.
"Hello Professor Vindictus", she said as she walked past him to get a broomstick that was hanging from the ceiling.
She took a seat at the table with her peers and waited for the lesson to begin.

Vindictus nodded to each student who greeted him and he watched as they selected their brooms before taking a seat around the massive work table.

"Broom Mechanics," he announced with a dramatic flourish and leaped onto the table. He flashed his Witch Weekly's award-winning smile at the class.

"Can anyone tell me what they think this means?"
