You might have been wondering why the prefects chose the frozen lake for this Tea Party. However, upon watching the lake carefully, you might notice something peculiar about it...
Giant, enchanted teacups glide across the frozen lake; one skates towards the edge if you approach, and a cut out door clicks open, an invitation for you to enter. It has a plush, purple cushion seat lining the interior, with enough room for four people. When you have entered and closed the door, the teacup sets back off, spinning lazily. Leaning over the rim, you might notice the golden lights, shining from below the ice to mix with the teacups' swirling pastel reflections.
Two buttons are located in an inset cove, covered by a metal flap labeled CONTROLS. One is plain and black in colour, with a note reading STOP - when pushed, it will take you and your companions back to the edge where you can exit the ride. The other has a bright, gaudy, psychedelic pattern on it, and it has nothing listed. WARNING: Do NOT push it unless you want to lose your tea!
On a side note:: The teacups have been charmed to sense each others' presence and will not smash into another cup, no matter what. Additionally, the ice has been fortified to hold twice the entire student and faculty population in weight, so rest assured, no one will fall through.
Turning around to the sound of the voice, Di realized what looks like a firstie asking if she would accompany her to a tea cup. Would she? She looked kind enough and yet Di was perfectly happy staring at the happy couples swirling around and around. Pfft. She really wanted to ride though.
"Alright then. In fact they do." she smiled at the girl as one cup magically drifted towards them. "You first." she said, gesturing to the cup.
Emily was kind of shocked that this girl said yes. She had expected her to be embaressed to be even talking to a first year. "Alright then" she smiled then carefully climed into the cup. "I'm Emily by the way" she smiled.
"I promise, it won't," Braeden reassured Charlie with an amused chuckle. "If I do it again, you can… punch me as much as you'd like," he proposed. And it was a good deal. If there were punches involved… yeah, the boy was going to behave himself. He didn't like getting hit. Owie.
As his girlfriend (squee! Girlfriend!) continued speaking, reminding Braeden that she was very forgiving, the boy couldn't help but grin with amusement. Alright, alright, she had a point. He had to admit. "Guess I'm a lucky blo--" but before he could finish that statement, the pretty blonde girl was leaning toward him in a way that left the boy speechless, his body growing tense as he found himself becoming nervous. He knew what was coming just from her body language, and he didn't think he'd be getting used to it any time soon. Kissing Charlie… yeah, that was going to get some getting used to. However, once her soft lips were on his own, all fears and anxiety were forgotten and the boy had no mind for anything else that wasn't kissing her back as lovingly as his heart desired.
But eventually she pulled away - too soon for his taste - and asked the boy if he wanted to try another ride.
Braeden watched with a sort of dazed look in his gaze as the girl got up to her feet and curtsied, his mind obviously still rather numb from that kiss they'd just shared. "Uh…" What had she said again? "Oh. Oh! Ye--yeah, that-- that sounds good," said the flustered Gryffindor boy with a sheepish chuckle, getting to his feet and opening the little door on the tea cup for them to walk back out onto the grounds. Once back on safe ground, Braeden put on an act of formality and offered his arm to Charlie. "Madame."
Charlie took Braeden's arm while laughing at his expression. Yes, she did have that affect on him and no she didn't want that affect to ever change. She loved that he was speechless after their kisses. "Thank you kind sir."
Charlie began to walk with her Lion Cub to. . . Well. She didn't know. "Where exactly would you like to go?" A tea cup glided behind them with some laughing students having a merry time. "There are sleigh rides, food, a maze? Or we could go in if you want?"
Thinking back just a few moments ago she realized that he had promised she could hit him if Braeden did anything to scare her like that again. A smirk flitted across her features. Oh yeah.
Noticing the look on Matty's face, Mia sat back down beside him and gave him a look of concern. "Are you sure about that." He certainly didn't look or sound like he'd had fun.
"Yes... I'm sure. I'd had a good time. I just felt... out of place with them. I don't it's hard to explain."
*Looking back over to her he tried to put on a smile and gave a nod to her tea.*
"Are you feeling any better?"

"Hmmmm..." As Charlie asked where they were headed, Braeden's expression turned a little thoughtful. Weeeeellllll... he hadn't had anything to eat since that morning, so he was kind of starving. No, really starving. "Do you mind if we go get some food?" asked the boy, turning to his shorter companion. "Are you hungry?" Charlie heard trepidation in Brae's voice, "Nothing at all my Prince, nothing at all." Her statement wasn't probably helped by the smirk that, once again scrolled across her lips. To try and dispell his fear, she kissed his cheek and took his hand. "Come one!" Laughing, Charlie began to drag Braeden, her dress billowing behind her.

As Charlie's stomach growled loudly, as if answering Braeden's earlier question, the boy laughed lightly. Awww, the poor thing was probably starving. Well, good to know that he wasn't the only one craving a good meal at that moment, then. As Charlie asked which tables Braeden would like to visit, the Gryffindor boy's expression turned more thoughtful. Hmmmmm… What was the difference, really? He figured he'd just make a random guess. "Upper tables," he decided with a smile.
Psssshhh. Nothing?! Yeah, right! Braeden didn't believe Charlie's oh-so-innocent response at all; however, before he could say anything about it, the girl was already dragging him away through the grounds and toward the tables at top speed. Merlin, how could someone so small run so fast?! Braeden had the advantage of height, but he was rather clumsy and it was honestly a miracle he hadn't fallen flat on his face as his energetic girlfriend dragged him like a ragdoll. He couldn't help but laugh with amusement at her enthusiasm, though, following her path without a complaint, like a good little lovestruck puppy.
"That's good to know." Carter said nodding. "I... um.. actually know how to make pies." he admitted. "My mum taught me before I came out here to Hogwarts." he said. You know, just in case he missed his mum's cooking.
"Oh. I like just about everything." he said. "I guess charms would probably be the first on my list, but I've had a favorite lesson in all of my classes." he explained. In all honesty, Carter was a fan of learning and it was hard for him to pick just one class.
"Oh. And flying. Flying classes are obviously some of my favorites." he said with a laugh.
"So. Let's see. We've talked about favorite class. And I mentioned that cheesecake was my favorite food. What's yours?"
Caroline smiled, ok so he can cook. That was a plus. She listened as Carter told her about his favorite classes. She nodded with agreement. I liked just about everthing. "Flying class is fun." She thought about what her favorite food was. "I like pizza and Sherpards pie." She said and laughed. "What else do you like doing?' She asked. altough with his seemingly busy schedule she wondered how and if he had time for anything else. She was starting to get a little cold, while the tea cup moved over the ice.

Maybelle looked at Jake and blinked. She was about to answer him, when WOOOOOOOOOOOSH! The tea cup began to fly forward. She felt Jake take Maybelle's hand. She responded by taking his and scooting slightly closer. She was a tad bit...TERRIFIED!! Jake being there to comfort her was amazing!
Having a conversation while this blasted tea cup was spinning around was becoming increasingly more difficult however he figured he may as well finish what he had to say before being quiet until the thing stopped. "Uhh.. not really, wars and violence are not really my kind of thing; I just think there are other way to solve issues rather than resulting in the deaths of so many innocent people." There was another reason behind why Matt didn't like violence and it had to do with his cousin but no one needed to know the other reasons.
Oi the spinning was starting to get to her. She certainly wasn't going to be able to walk straight when they exited. "Oh, I wasn't sure. Is it the uniform that fascinated you? It is quite spiffing really." Giving him an embarrassed smile. She didn't mean to say that he loved violence or anything.
Balancing herself on the seat trying to keep herself more steady, she shifted more on the bench.

He smiled slightly at the girl and then picked up his cap and held it for a second; whether or not it was a wise decision to put it back on his head while the spinning continued was entirely up for debate.
The amusement on Renée's face didn't fade as Jared responded in kind to the fun. "Whyever would I do that?," she asked impishly. Not to mention she didn't see it as him exactly giving up easily. They both knew the instances would continue, and perhaps he'd get the upper hand eventually. "That you do," she replied as the conversation continued, however. There might be the enigmatic moments, but she had a feeling he was like her in wanting things to be real. Not cheap imitations. And something told her the pocket watch was just as authentic, although she decided not to ask. She filed the offer of giving her the time if she ever needed it away, though. "I'll keep that in mind then, monsieur." If he wanted to continue their feigned aristocratic behavior, she would respond in kind, even if there was still a bit of laughter behind her comments.
She grinned again as he responded almost as she'd expected to her comment abotu her house. "No, I can't say it does. I momentarily forgot I'm not the only one who can do their homework," she said, teasingly. Just as she hadn't forgotten him not having gone to Hogwarts. Although she couldn't say that little tidbit had been gotten from any sort of true research. The trophy room had done that for her. She'd certainly gotten other bits of information from him in the past, with her own brand of getting information, but at least he knew about it. She raised an eyebrow in mock question as he replied to her facetious comment about her French with a challenge, however. "You wouldn't," she said simply, before returning his lazy grin. "I'd know."
But then they were skirting the tables in the marquee, heading for the lake, and she found herself looking around at everyone they passed. The costumes were interesting, to say the least. There seemed to be a bit of a shared idea with the bulk of them, but she still felt individual in her own way. Then they were at the lake, and she turned to regard the icy surface with a little smile. "You'd think we had some sort of connection to this lake," she observed idly. It looked significantly different this time, but no less magical. She turned back to him as he spoke again, once again matching his grin. "I'd imagine they would respond in some sort of proper way. You can respond how you like, of course," she replied lightly. Her curtsy had only been in response to his own actions in the first place, and it was all in good fun anyway. Even though as professors she imagined they probably shouldn't be playing around this much.
"Don't tell me I come across as the kind to give up easily," Jared said, in mock horror. The look, not quite as petrified as he had intended it to be - mostly because he could not keep back a grin at her impish tones - faded into a light smile as she agreed that he did. Try.
"My pocket watch and I are at your service, madame," he said, inclining his head in a slight bow, amusement apparent in his eyes.
"And here I thought I hadn't done that since I graduated." This, in response to her remark about homework. He realized that statement of his, jokingly said, had probably steered the conversation to another - though not [u]un[/i]-school related - topic, but that was fine. Renée grinned a little at the coment Jared made, as well as the momentary faux horror-sticken look on his face. "Of course not. There's many reasons I'd have to say I think otherwise of you," she said, still an amused tone to her voice, although it actually wasn't teasing. She was telling the truth, even. The manticores would have said it all, but she held back from actually mentioning the creatures that dominated so much of their early conversations. Then she nodded slightly as he said his pocket watch was at her service. The fact he'd added himself into the mix was intriguing to say the least, but no less light hearted. As pretty much all of their conversation tended to be. "Why thank you, kind sir," she replied impishly, though, just to show she wasn't quite abandoning the acting that the whole party had brought on. It was too much fun to let it all go.
She laughed lightly yet again as he spoke literally of homework. "Oh, we never get away from it. It just transforms into something else," she pointed out. Like, in her case, deadlines. And the lesson planning they both had to concern themselves with, not to mention the actual 'homework' that the discussion had been about, at which point she grinned at him as he agreed with her. "It adds to the intrigue," she said simply. Whether she was talking about what was actually said or what was inferred stayed unspoken, however. It wasn't necessary to say it all aloud, especially as she knew he could easily foil her plans if he'd like. She liked to think he wouldn't, not for something as innocent as that.
A thoughtful expression crossed her face as he replied to her comment about the lake, but was quickly replaced by another smile. "I don't disagree. It's just curious," she observed, before turning her attention to the whirling teacups gliding around the ice as he seemed to think. It was adorable, and almost theme park like, that something like those had been incorporated into the prefects' event, and she silently gave them points for creativity. Even as she noted that it seemed to only be students taking advantage of it all.
Until Jared spoke, sounding quite unlike a proper Victorian gentleman, and Renée tried not to giggle at how excited he seemed. "Why not?," she agreed, voice a bit offhand. She saw no reason why they couldn't, even if they were supposed to be setting an example. Or whatever they were doing.

Plus, I have to stay in shape." he explained. He started flying fresh off of a football camp. So, he was only used to flying in great shape.
"You alright?" he asked. "Not cold or anything are you?"
Because he had a jacket and it was always a good thing to offer it to girls if they were cold.

The yellow one waved in the direction of the cup, and as she moved her arm, Wesley caught, behind the voluminous mountain of blond hair, her face. Iris's face.
"Oh!" Wesley exclaimed, running over in their direction, "Oh! You guys! YOU GUYS, WAIT! WAIT! CAN I COME TOO?"

The Slytherin prefect looked at her Hufflepuff friend and smiled, "Wez, you look lovely! I love your costume!"
... "Though now I feel very out of place. You're both wearing purple and I'm in yellow." Hehe. The odd one out was awesome. Obviously.
As Satine also said it was cool for Wesley to join them, Iris made her way into the teacup properly. Sitting down opposite the door, Iris smiled. It was finally tiiime to see how awesome these teacups were! Well... soon. Once Wesley had sat down and shut the door."

"Well. I like to go for a run, or a swim, or out to play football when the weather is nice." he said. "I'm a bit of a sports nut like that. Just playing quidditch isn't enough for me. Plus, I have to stay in shape." he explained. He started flying fresh off of a football camp. So, he was only used to flying in great shape.
"You alright?" he asked. "Not cold or anything are you?"
Because he had a jacket and it was always a good thing to offer it to girls if they were cold.
Caroline nodded. It was a good thing that they seem to have so much it common, alot of stuff actually. It really helped with the getting to know each other. "Yeah, We do like alot of the same thing in common," She said with a grin. She had had the shepard's pie at the three broomsticks, it was pretty much the only thing that she ordered there besides to fruit and chocolate dip. "Yeah I have. I love that and the fruit and chocolate dip there"

"Let me fix that." he said. He removed his arm from around her and then took off his jacket. He then draped his jacket around her and replaced his arm.

Could other countries figured out how to have a Mickey and Minnie Mouse? Now he really needed to revisit Japan.

"It is rather far from where my home is," Kurumi blushed wishing that she had thought about taking him there. "We have two Disney parks actually. Disneyland and Disney Sea. They are both fantastic! OH! I wish I could bring you there during the summer. The themes are the best then..."
Kurumi blushed as her hand brushed against Adam's. She needed to think positive. Perhaps she could take him there sometime in the future. She just needed to learn how to Apparte and then she could zap herself down to Mexico and back!

How would him teaching her how to swim be weird, but she shrugged the question off. "You teach me how to swim? She asked half laughing. "I'd like that. when to gets warmer, right" she smiled. There was no way that she would be swiming in the lake this time of year.
She told him about being a little cold and here he was taking off his jacket and draping it around her. awww that was so sweet, it was always sweet when guys did that for girls. She grinned at him. "Thanks" she said as she snuggled up to him some more. She thought that maybe it was alittle soon for him but she didn't move she instead had an idea to try somewhere else now, the spinning in the tea cups was kind of getting boring.
"Want to get off the ride and go do something else? She asked him.

"Yeah. That sounds great. We could head inside. Grab some tea. You know, since this is a tea party." Which, was kinda weird that they were at a tea party. They weren't five.
"Maybe after that we could see what kinda food they're serving?" he suggested.
