| | |  Stained Glass Windows
Fire and paper do not go well together. The library, therefore, features a reduced number of torches on the walls to minimize any danger to the books. A number of large stained glass windows, placed at regular intervals where the room is part of the outside wall of the castle, ensure that sufficient light gets in. Stretching all the way to the ceiling, these windows depict different famous witches and wizards, momentous historical occasions, and beautifully detailed magical creatures.
Relax on one of the cushioned window seats. Watch the floor and nearby shelves change subtly in color as the sunlight shines through the stained glass panels. Read a book under the calm gaze of Merlin or the fearsome scowl of a Manticore. Sometimes, it is difficult to stay focused here, but there are students who swear that, when sitting at the window of Rowena Ravenclaw, work gets completed faster.
All rules apply here, and although the glass can't be broken by simple spells or physical force, please be careful and respect the artwork on the windows. Remember to keep your voice down so as not to disturb those also visiting the library. | |

He had thought he would be okay, that the pain would be less due to the time that had passed. But with the nearing of the Christmas season, with the topics that kept coming up, he found it was only the opposite.

"You're...it's fine..." Biting his bottom lip, he turned his eyes out the window again, rubbing her back as if to reassure her that he really was despite the quiver in his voice. It took him a moment to realize that she had asked about him and that he hadn't exactly responded with the proper wording, so he stumbled over himself a little bit to fix it. "I'm fine..."

Ara was on a walking spree when she came to a place called...The Library. Ooooohhh! Books were everywhere. Her attention span was actually less interested in the leather bound books when her green eyes fell upon the beautiful stained glass windows that lined the library. She walked over, noticing the lovely seat cushions that lined the window ledge and took a seat....without a book. Instead her eyes glanced around the roomy library paying more attention to the boys than the books.

His muddy brown eyes now falling upon the stained glass windows, he let out a sigh which rather meant he was quite enthralled by the beautiful sight. And what's more? There was a blondie... sitting on one of the comfy cushions. Cedric headed straight to girl, offhandedly, not really sure why he did so. "Hello there," Cedric greeted, his voice sounding rather husky.

Ivan walked into the library with a frown on his face that said nothing pleasant about his mood. Stupid professors. Stupid dorm and common room not being quiet enough to study. He almost thought about hiding in the Room of Requirement but decided against it. What if he needed to look something up and didn't have the book? Which with the amount of work he had to do was looking even more likely. Looking around he spotted Lexi but she was working with Sabel and it seemed like actually working. Giving her a smile he headed to the bookshelves.
Coming back with an armful of books on Runes and Arithmancy he sat down and looked up to spot that Slytherin girl from Diagon Alley and some guy talking to her. He hadn't seen her in...well awhile, "Oh, hi. Do you mind if I study here?" He'd go over to sit with Lexi but he ACTUALLY needed to study and being anywhere with her almost guaranteed no studying would happen.

Ara was thinking of Finn when another voice came from around her. Her green eyes looked up to find the Hufflepuff Prefect....what was his name?....CEDRIC there speaking to her. She grinned, showing her pearly white teeth, "Hello," her voice was soft and inviting. But then another voice sounded, asking to sit.
"Oh, Ivan, sure. No problem," she gave a half smile towards the Ravenclaw then turned back to Ced. "Would you like to join the party as well?"

Cedric was waiting for the blonde girl to greet him back when suddenly he heard a person spoke from near him. Well, it couldn't be the girl, right? Considering that the girl ought to sound like a girl. Cedric then turned so as to find out who the speaker was. Hmm. A boy, of course. He gave the boy a bland smile and turned back to the girl who had now returned his greeting.
Wait, wait. She looked familiar. Sounded familiar, too. She should just giggle and he would be perfectly sure who she actually was. "Ara, right?" Cedric merely smiled. Join the party? He deliberately considered her offer. "Sure, thanks." With that, he jammed himself into the soft cushion and landed with a gentle thump, occupying the empty space beside the blonde.

The guy made him to wonder if he had done anything wrong. Recounting the past actions he'd shown just a while ago, Cedric decided he hadn't done anything wrong, anything to ever prod the guy to raise an eyebrow at him. That was just confusing, was all.
He snuggled deeper into cushion but subsequently straightened up as the guy spoke yet again. "I'm Cedric." His expression cooling ten degrees, he smiled at him... but this time his smile was a genuine one. "Seventh Year Hufflepuff." Lets leave the 'prefect' part, yes? He wasn't egocentric or a braggart, you know... well, sometimes that part of him mystically leave him be.

Waiit...Mia wanted to do some studying. "Nah..." He shook his head. Well really they hadn't been studying in the first place, so it would be a bit silly to start really. Finn glanced around the library, smirking when he noticed Ara, who was sat with Ivan, and that hufflepuff prefect that he really couldn't remember the name off. Hmm. "Wanna go meet Ara?" He asked as he turned back to Mia.

Mia gave Marie a smile and nodded her head. "Anytime." Although she wasn't sure that she had did anything except say some pretty stupid things. She watched as Marie and Jimmy walked away and then turned to Finn. Quote:

Now it was just the two of them again, Mia hoped that he did not want to talk about what had just taken place. She just wanted to chill out for a while. And thankfully Finn didn't want to study either not that she thought he would.
When he asked if she wanted to meet his girlfriend, Mia gave him a shifty look. "Of course I do." Maybe she could ask Ara a thousand and one questions and perhaps get some answers seeing how Finn was being all secretive with her.
"Let's go." She said waving Finn ahead of her so that he could lead the way.

Shaking his head, he rubbed his fingers across his brow self-conciously, holding the skin to either side of his forehead as he blinked at Lexi. "How's this? Less brooding and more Veela-ish?"
Shaking his head once again he let his hands drop into his lap, a slow sigh leaving him. "I feel like I should feel older. But I can never seem to act that way or feel it deep enough to act that way." His eyes went to her with a small, quiet smile. "Though I suppose lately, with everything that's going on....I guess so." With everything that had happened in the last year.
Another slow breath left him as he glanced in the direction of her wave, giving a small smile to the group himself. "And I don't see how I keep distracting you." Reaching over he gave her a light poke in the ribs. "Considering your the one that keeps talking about dropping books on my head."

She gave Ivan a semi-warm smile until her eyes began to take in the others around who seemed to like the stained glass window as well.
"Sooo, Cedric...right?" She had to pretend she couldn't remember the boy's name too, yet followed it with a big smile. It was sad that he was a seventh year, she gathered listening to conversations, yet it would still be cool to get to know him. "How are things going?"

" Hey. What are we sitting around in here for? Let's get out on the grounds... do something fun. I am sure we can study AND have fun at the same time," she said as she snapped her book closed. Besides, the library was getting a bit... crowded. Meh.
