Come and send a note or letter using your own owl or any of the school owls. Owls line the walls in nooks and on branches. Pellets and belladonna berries are on the floor.

Oh. OHHHHHH! SHE LAUGHED! LAUGHED! That was it.
Destiny was going down.
Before Evelyn could have the chance to get up by herself though, Marie was already helping her up and cleaning the owl droppings off. Well...thank you Marie. You're a GREAT friend. Not like SOME who were LAUGHING at her. What was even better was that the awesome Marie just did...something...to Destiny. Whatever it was, Evelyn beamed. Hehe.
Smirking, the Slytherin hesitantly picked up the object from the ground and placed it in her bag before...No. No no. She wouldn't be mean and trip Destiny in here. Evelyn will resist the urge to do so! Straightening out her sweater, she held her head high and STARED at Destiny for a moment before walking after Marie. Pfft.
It'd be her lucky day though if Destiny slipped without her help.
Perhaps she was astute and perhaps she had a slight advantage because of the things she could see. But neither of those things could help her at the moment when Jake spoke. She blinked a couple of times, totally confused at his explanation of his life.
Thankfully he decided to just summarise it in then end. "Well if it works for you. Then why not?" Mia was just too straight forward for things like that. She asked her parents for something, if they gave it to her then great if not then she just had to deal.
Mia might complain that her family was too boring and too simple but from what she had heard about other people's families, like Jake's for example, she was actually glad that they were boring. "That's all that matters I guess. So long as you get it and your family get it then you should be able to get through it."
That actually made Mia laugh. How many times as a little girl had she dreamed of being of television and making lots of money? Too many to count. "It would be a sweet job." Oh yeah it so totally would. "I actually got offered a modelling job just before I came to Hogwarts." And man she had so wanted to do it to. She gave her shoulders a shrug. "Dad, said I was too young though."
She gave Jake a nudged with her shoulder again. "Yeah but I don't actually give that much advice. I like to think that I actually just sorta guide people in the right direction without telling them what to do, you know?" That way she can't get in trouble if things go wrong.
"I could totally be a model," Jake joked, striking a poooooose. Then he burst into a small giggle chuckle. "Nah... but it kind of sucks that you couldn't do it, if you wanted to that is."
It was frustrating not being allowed to do something you really wanted to do. "I reckon you'll definitely get another offer, though," he stated with certainty.
Nudging Mia back, Jake smirked. "I think a lot of people around here including me are always NEEDING advice... it's rare to find a student giving advice. I'm sure the Quill had a collumn for that at one point though... heh." Anyway, yes. "That's a good idea though..." for loads of reasons. Jake's main reasoning being that people plain didn't react well to being told what to do. Rarrr.
Stretching out his back slightly, Jake heard a popping sound which had something to do with his joints, causing him to wince despite the absence of pain. He looked out of the window from where he could see and gave a small sigh. It was allllll coming to a close for him here. But he decided not to say it.
"Anything else lined up for the day, after your letter sending?" he asked Mia, refolding his letter for like the 27th time.

Destiny bahahaaa'd even harder as Marie went to help Evelyn up and if it was possible to bahaha even more, she did once Marie cleaned her off. It was the FUNNIEST thing she had ever seen in her entire sixteen year old life.
What wasn't funny, though, was, how in the middle of her bahaha's, she felt her tongue stick to the roof of her mouth like she had just eaten ten jars of peanut butter and could bahaha no more.
Flailing her arms wildly, she spun around in a circle a few times mumbling a few not so nice words about her She-Snake friends. Sure, she was talking a lot, but how about all those times Marie had CRIED!? Destiny NEVER cast on her to rid her of her eyeballs so no tears would fall, did she? NOPE. Or, how about all those times Evelyn YELLED? Destiny NEVER cast on her to put a sock in her mouth, did she? NOPE.
HMPH.
Next time! NEXT time, Marie will have no eyeballs and Evelyn will have a sock in her mouth.
Continuing to run in a circle, she almost missed the fact that the other's had left and stopping, she stomped her foot out of frustration and pulled out her wand, casting a simple, nonverbal Finite on herself.
She then bahaha'd out of the owlery after her not so nice friends.

Eirian read the letter. Opal was dying? But... She was such a strong dog! Cancer... It was a terrible thing. No wonder Jayce had left. But as she read it, she couldn't help but feel dreadfully relieved. He still loved her... at least as a friend. He called her his partner. He still considered her a part of his life. He hadn't been driven away! At least... Not yet. Poor Jayce... Poor Opal... Standing, Eiri shuffled around the owl, the letter still in her hand, and scrapped the note to Neko to write a response to her partner in crime. She'd send it with Buzz, and soon after receiving the letter Jay would receive a visit from her. She couldn't let him go through this death alone. Sure, Opal was just a dog... but Eirian had learned a thing or two about death, and no matter how small a life it was, it was terrifying. She'd be there for him like he was for her. It was the least she could do.
SPOILER!!: Eirian's Letter
Dear Jay,
Honestly? I thought you were avoiding me. I deserved it... A lot has happened, has it not? Brigado... You still thought to write to me. Even with your lack of experience? It means a lot... Really. Thank you. I am so sorry to hear about Opal... Of course you had to leave! How could you not!? If you had only let me known, I would have started going to classes... You know, so I could give you your work. But I have not been to many classes, and I do not take notes... (I have been trying harder in school, but we can talk about that some other time?) A lot has changed... A lot. But we have not.... Not too much. Expect me there as soon as school ends. It will not be long now. I do not know how many days are left in the year, but I will head straight there. The manor can go unoccupied for a bit more time...
I really am sorry. You know, about everything. We need to talk in person... Immediately. I will see you soon, partner.
Bjocas,
The bird tilted his head to the side again as he watched the human read the paper he had been given. He watched her curiously, ignoring all of the other owls because he was simply not in the mood to be bothered by them. He was still on a mission. If this weird being would dismiss him, then he'd be allowed to leave. But she hadn't yet. His master had taught the young Buzz not to leave unless shooed away.
He opened up his wings, flapping them, and ruffling the gray feathers until they no longer felt uncomfortable. Then, he folded them back up and scooted toward the being. He watched her write, and watched her weird stick fly across the paper. He eyed the stick curiously. What was that thing? He moved closer, examining it with his large brown eyes, wondering about it silently. A soft "coo" came from his beak as he continued to stare.
The bird then placed his talons back on the being's leg, offering it to her because he had a feeling she'd need him.

Eirian smiled slightly as the owl offered itself to her. It was... rather smart. Weird. Birds, by nature were rather stupid. What was the phrase...? Bird-minded? Something like that. But it was catchier. Oh! Birdbrained! Yes. Alliteration made everything better. Stooping to tie the letter onto Buzz's leg with the same string Jay had apparently used, Eiri looked at the parchment. Placing a soft kiss on where the folds met, she smiled as her lipstick left a print. Then, she finished her work fastening it to his owl and picked the beast up. Was she supposed to usher him out the window or something.
"Uh," she murmured, "I am done. That letter is for Jayce Cannon... your owner..." How was one meant to talk to an owl..? "You may go now... Or rest before leaving... Whatever owls do, I mean to say."

The tiny bird blinked it's large eyes. What was it to make of that stick? He was still curious as to why the other thing had it. Maybe she'd give it to him. That would be nice. It looked like it was almost as tall as he was. But not quite. He had a couple of inches on it at least. That much he knew.
Ruffling his feathers, the owl hooted again still watching the weird moving creature and the pen and ignoring it's own kind. The bird watched her take the string and tie it to the paper then she.. wait.. Why'd the human put it's beak on the paper? Was it going to eat it? He watched her tie the paper back to his leg, still curious as to what just happened, but quickly forgot it. using the same string he had before. It was so uncomfortable, but worth it for his MISSION.
Then, he watched her beak move. It moved in a rather peculiar way. It didn't work like a normal one.. and it most certainly didn't look exactly right. Something was off. Figuring it was part of the weird creature to look like that, he ignored it. Then, he hopped off of her arm, expanding his wings in the process and flew off towards his favorite person in the world.

Eirian walked to the window to watch Buzz disappear over the horizon. Well... That was that. There was no getting that letter back now, not as if she had written anything vaguely informational. She'd see Jay again soon enough, and then the awkwardness and depression would ensue. Oh well. Turning on her heel, Eiri walked down the tower and disappeared into the vastness of Hogwarts.
After finding the potions vial in the Observatory, it was onto the next stage of the towers. The Owlery. Once again, like the broomshed, he wasn't sure exactly what, if anything, Lafay would hide in here. Not unless she wanted them to gather owl feathers or pellets. Not the most desirable of jobs given the dropped feathers wouldn't be enough and the pellets would be, well, pellets.
Unfortunately, that was all that there seemed to be. Pellets and strange looking berries and owls that were eying him in some way close to being strange. With a curious frown, he squatted in the middle of the room, tilting his head at the pellets. Surely Lafay wouldn't ask them to pick such things up. Finding a splinter of wood, he poked one pellet near his foot, frowning deeper as it crumbled. If she did it would be a massive pain to pick up.
So that idea went on the sidelines and he turned his attention to the berries. Some were broken, squished and a few remained whole. It was one of these whole ones that he plucked up, holding between his thumb and forefinger, turning it thoughtfully. Consideration was given to another one, and then another until about ten were gathered at his feet, his eyes peering at them with interest. One hand flicked lightly through them, while his other rested on his knee, his ever faithful companion the leech still suckling away.
The berries looked familiar, and it took a few moments of sifting through them before he snapped his fingers in realization. Belladonna berries. A poisonous plant that didn't need any alteration for it to be toxic. And he was pretty sure that was one of the items on the list. Placing the berries in the bag, he made a move for his list, just to double check it. And it was at that moment that he realized the owlery had gone rather silent.
Blinking slowly, he drew his eyes up and froze. All the owls seemed to be watching him, big eyes blinking as heads tilted this way and then that. An occasional hoot would leave one or the other, or a ruffle of feathers before they settled back down, sleek against the graceful bodies. His eyes drew a little wider. Sleek rather than ruffled and fluffed. They were alert, ready to take flight at a moment's notice. And it was in that instant he realized exactly where their eyes were.
On his hand. On the nice, big, fat worm looking creature in clear view. Merlin's beard!
No sooner was the realization an actuality of danger in his mind, than he was on his feet, snatching up the bag. Unfortunately, he didn't consider the implications of moving his body; that it would in turn move his hand and that would move the leech. And well, dinner that was moving was unacceptable.
Things got confusing real fast. The sudden snap of powerful wings echoing through the enclosure, pounding against his ears as the air shifted into brief gusts of wind. He felt, more than saw talons scrape just above the skin of his hand, saved only from his instant reaction to drop it close to as his whole body dropped onto one knee, thanks to the fresh scat his foot found place in slipping on. He knew from the moment his knee hit the boards that he was in trouble, that it wasn't just one owl that was intent on getting their fill. And that was largely thanks to the second set of wings that knocked into him, clapping him on the head hard enough to drop him onto his side.
It wasn't a swarm, but a turn-based bombing, one owl coming after the next as he scrambled to his feet and booked it towards the door, keeping his hand as close to his body as possible. His free arm shielded his head and eyes from the beating wings and scraping talons. It felt like it took forever for him to reach the door, when it could have only been a few seconds, and he was ready to duck out it when he heard a small, but distinctive 'thud'.
The sound drew him to a skidding halt, his eyes snapping down first to his hand. A loud groan left him at the sight of a fine trail of blood from where the leech had been sucking. Key point. The leech was gone.
The groan lasted only an instant, his body already spinning back around, eyes snapping over the floor of the owlery. Such a bad time for the leech to finish his meal. He was about to become someone else's meal. His eyes locked onto the suddenly helpless black blob a foot or so back in the room, and then to the owl that was already swooping in for the kill. If he had time to think, he might have seen the spectacle as amazing, the barn owl's wings spread in a magnificent arc, its legs extending ahead of its body, talons snapping open. Of course, if he had time to think, he may have realized that simply going back to the lake would have been easier and safer. As it was, he was already diving for the leech, hand snapping out and dropping over it, swiping it to the side just as the owl reached them.
This time, it wasn't a graze and there was a biting pain through his hand as one of the talons caught his skin, tearing through it as if it was made of butter. A yelp left him at about the same time a screech of frustration left the owl. He didn't give himself or the creature time to re-cooperate, wrapping his fingers around the leech and shoving himself to his feet to book it out of the owlery.
Next time, Lafay needed to include a warning on her assignments.

"Anything else lined up for the day, after your letter sending?" he asked Mia, refolding his letter for like the 27th time.
Jake was certainly quite the character and she burst out laughing at his pose before shrugging her shoulders. "It was only for one the store's catalogues but the money would have been rather handy." It also would have been nice to be able to have clothes that were new as well. Not that she had that problem anymore. Mia felt herself blush a little at Jake's compliment but didn't know quite how to respond so she didn't say anything.
"I just seemed to be in the right place at the right time." It wasn't like people were lining up to see her or anything and the thought of writing for a paper made Mia quite nervous.
At his question Mia stood up and looked out through one of the holes in the wall. It was a lovely day outside and the grounds looked rather inviting. "Well I am definitely over studying that's for sure." She looked down at Jake and smiled. "Have you done your last walk around yet?"

Jake continued to flex in jest. "You reckon my dad is letting me go on tour with them because they need someone young and aesthetically pleasing to keep the energy levels up when they all get tired?" he asked, giving a teeny wink. Oh yeah, ego was UP. He'd boosted his own ego... that had totally never happened before.
Anyway. Yes. No more flexing. Some people coming up here to send a letter might like... FAINT at his manliness.
Wait, Mia was talking. And standing. Okay... when did that happen? "Last walk around...? Not yet. Probably still haven't done my first walk around yet... I'm still finding places in this castle I never knew existed."
He stood up and STREEEETCHED again, popping his letter into the breast pocket of his shirt. "Guess it really is time to say goodbye to the old place," Jake commented, but even as he did, there was a little smile on his face. It was like... happy-moment-but-no-idea-why-I'm-happy.
