Come and send a note or letter using your own owl or any of the school owls. Owls line the walls in nooks and on branches. Pellets and belladonna berries are on the floor.

"What year are you in?" he cocked his head slightly to look at Mia. "Fifth, right?" He knew it wasn't 4th or lower and it wasn't 7th... so Jake had to hazard a guess from between the remaining two.

He smiled again. It really was awesome to have someone so understanding... someone who would listen and be a true friend. His other friends... well they always transferred out or went off on super long breaks or something COUGHCameronCOUGH... this was good. Jake liked this.

Giving a little grin at the kiss, Jake nodded his head. "Much, actually," he replied. Well... the Neptune thing was still making his head reel but apart from that... things were better in his head. "Thank you, Mia. For like... listening and, well... for helping."

Out of the corner of his eye he saw another owl fly down from the rafters and nick the parchment Lolcat had been playing with earlier. The cat in question yowled and jumped into the air to get the bird... and Jake caught him at the peek of his leap.

"Bloody cat..." he mumbled.

Giving him a grin, Mia nudged him with her shoulder. "You don't need to take my word for it. You'll see for yourself soon enough." Personally, Mia couldn't wait to finish school now but she guessed that was because she had a special someone waiting for her on the other side.

When he spok of what he had planned for after school, Mia gave him a surprised look and then laughed. "Oh my god Jake. What are you worrying about? You have everything all mapped out." The dragon thing sounded so cool. She wouldn't mind doing something like that. And his father managed a band? Even cooler. "That sounds like more fun than hanging out at Hogwarts and going to classes." It was then that she thought of something. "Are you gonna be playing in the band?"

She nodded her head at his question. "Yep I'm a fifth year." So she still had two years to go before she had to worry about what she wanted to do even though she already had a couple of ideas. "Why is that?"

Mia gave him a smile when he thanked her and she pressed her head against the stone wall. "Anytime Jake. It seems to be what I do best." Maybe she should become one of those counsellor's or therapists or something to that effect. "You gonna talk to Neptune?"

Still grinning, he shrugged. It wasn't about what was planned. It was leaving behind what he already knew. Scary days... but he didn't say that. NOPE. "I think it'll be fun. And I doubt I'll be allowed to be out on stage. Nah, they're already a full band. I'm just a tag-along. I do make music though... I've considered going down the professional road with it all..."

Ahhh... fifth year. "Good luck with your OWLs and everything. They aren't as bad as everyone makes out if you concentrate, just so you know. I got my grades and I could barely read at the start of my fifth year. Everyone was so surprised when my results came..." Grrrrrr... that was annoying. Especially when his biological dad got wind of it all. Jerk.

Shifting around so he faced Mia more, Jake scratched behind Lolcat's ears and thought about it. "I dunno... I suppose I will soon. But... after a little cooldown. Merlin knows who she's now talking to now; someone who hates me could be giving her advice..."

Probably best not to panic about it...

"But I will."

Jake glanced down at his half-written letter in his other hand and twisted his face slightly. He still felt he should send it... but now he was a little more hesitant about it. Jake owed his mother at least a casual 'hello' so... yeah.

She knew they weren't the closest of friends but she had thought they were making progress. And she had figured something had happened in the waiting room but as soon as she had got inside, she had been kicked out and had not gotten to speak to anyone.

She followed his gaze down to the letter in his hand. "You seem a little unsure about sending that."

Nika noticed that some students were in the room as well. She looked up at them to ask for some help. "Hi. Do you know how I am supposed to get an owl to take my letter?" First year sending a message by owl for her first time.

"I'm sure I can try to persuade him. About Jimmy.

It was always about Jimmy, and if Jake was honest, he was worried about the fact that the two of them would be at Hogwarts when he wasn't. Not something that one should feel in a relationship... but oh well.

As for the letter... Jake eyed it again himself and shrugged. "I was writing to my mother for like... advice, but I'm not sure I want to do that now. I haven't spoken to her in a while... she's really changed and I'm not sure I want to talk to her," the young man said with an unsure expression. He loved his mother, of course, but there were many more times when he didn't LIKE her. "Not sure if I'll send it. I guess I kind of feel better about the whole thing anyway," Jake added with a little smile at Mia.

Hearing another kid talk to him and Mia, Jake looked up at the girl and gave HER a smile as well. "Sure," he said with a little nod. "You could just whistle one down or catch one's attention and ask it to come down. It usually will... they're well trained owls, here."

"Asking for something doesn't work all the time... but to be honest I kind of suck at being subtle so it doesn't matter either way," he grinned sheepishly. Now that was an understatement, bahaha.

Jake had been really good to her and had appeared rather grown up but she could see there was a kind of rebellious nature about him. He reminded her of that fairy tale character Peter Pan. The boy who never wanted to grow up.

Oh Mia had a very good idea when it came to Jimmy, Neptune and Marie. It equaled one very big mess. But as always she kept this to herself. Even though, Marie, her close friend was involved. She had learnt early on that if you interfere it could very easily backfire and you end up with no friend. Besides people need to learn from their own mistakes by themselves. She gave Jake a wink and giggled. "Sounds like good advice."

Not knowing what Jake's family history was, Mia shrugged her shoulders. "Life's too short to hold onto so much anger. Everyone makes mistakes." They wouldn't be human if they didn't. "But it's your life and your parents and only you know how to deal with this."

"I swear I am going to have to start charging you guys for all the advice I am giving out." She looked at Jake and then burst out laughing. "I'm just kidding."

Cameron was in a rush, breathing heavily HEEEHUUUHHEEEEH as he walked up the Owlery. Seriously, why couldn't they just invent elevators in the magical world? Oh silly wizards. He continued scavenging, first eying owl droppings... interesting... and then something else.

Jackpot.

He picked it up from the ground, put it in the small satchel, and ran back down in a crazy, wild manner.

Kurumi made her way up to the Owlery partly because she was still searching for things for her Potions final, and partly because she was still expecting a letter from her father. He had mentioned that he may be arriving in London and spending her summer holiday there, so she was more than welcome to stay with him for a bit if she wanted.

Kurumi had jumped up and down at the opportunity of being able to spend a good portion of her holiday in Diagon Alley where she could constantly be surrounded by the magical world and not have to turn in her wand to her mother, but she knew she ought to spend some time back home in Japan. So, she had asked her father if she could spend the first week back home in Japan and then the rest of it with him.

It was then that she spotted something purple about to be eaten by one of the school owls.

"NOOOOOOOO!" she shouted pouncing on the object and sending all the owls into a flying frenzy around the Owlery. Perhaps not the most efficient way of doing things, but at least now the owl was not going to eat it considering it was now safely in her bag.

Sierra glared at Kurumi Hollingberry as she noticed the girl also standing around in The Owlery. She didn't think Kurumi actually saw her, though. The Gryffindor girl was busy scooping up something that Sierra herself also scooped up. Sierra shoved the item into her bag and quickly headed out.

"Because you're an astute person?" Jake grinned, and even ~~giggled~~ chuckled somewhat. "I'm just a child, really. A... kind of disturbed, kind of messed up child. I got what I want for a long time with my parents, after I went to live with them, probably for that reason." He smiled to himself and leaned back on his hands. "I used to throw absolute fits when things didn't go my way, because that's how my brain is programmed and also I knew I would get something out of it. Now I still get in a sulk and stuff, but... the tantrums are gone. More or less. So, in short... yes... I do give my parents a hard time."

He gave a cheesy little griiiiin.

"It's just the way I do it."

Like, for example, the mother!boycott. That was one big tantrum, and he even had done the screaming and breaking things at first.

"I am dealing with this in a completely messed up way. Eventually... I'll be okay with seeing my mum and her new happy little family again. But for now... I'm definitely sticking with dad. The history of our family is a little weird... and we can somewhat make sense of it..."

PLUS... he wanted to kind of... look after the old man? Yeah... but never admit it. No way. Just keep an eye out... yup.

"I'll probably see you on TV in a few years. Or maybe hear you on the WWN. Agony Aunt Hour..." he gave a mischevious grin at young lady Mia... "You could be raking in the galleons. What a sweeeeeet job. I could never give people advice. I'm always the one who goes to people FOR advice." Jake laughed again and shook his head. "Unless you need advice on animals or music... then I'm right there."

Well only if he had brought his telescope with him! Arrving in the Owlery, Patroclus stood at one of the windows and stared down at the school below him, "Gosh this is high!" A little tooo high perhaps, the windows and students he could see where dwarfed by the altitude he was at, so he turned to leave.

Squish!

Ew, looking down Patroclus saw that it was not only birdpoo that littered the floor, but something else, something very familiar!

On to his next tower, this one not nearly as high up but also not as clean as the owls that called the owlery home certainly marked it as their territory. Simon's eyes were cautious as he watched his step, the action helping him in turn as he spotted his fifth item in his search.

"getting closer," he mused almost to himself, picking a collection up and adding it to the rest.

Helena walked to the owlery, still looking for some items. She noticed something on the floor and quickly grabbed it, but then... "Hades!" The girl suddenly exclaimed. The still tiny owl was hooting happily as he tried to fly towards her. She stroked him gently, but... "I can't stay with you now," she whispered, still stroking her owl, then bent down to let Hades hop off her arm and she left.

Mmm. Owls. Finlay didn't like owls. they kind of annoyed him. Finlay wandered up, and glanced around, trying to see if there aws anything here that was out of the ordinary. Wait....Mmmm. Finlay was pretty sure that they weren't meant to be up here. Hmmm. Finn glanced at the owls, making sure none of them were going to poop on him, before bending down and picking up some of the items that were on the floor and popping them into his bag. Standing back up, and wandering away from the owls, he pulled his list out, working out which clue the item belonged too, and ticking it off. Ahh. 6 to go. With one last glance at the owls, he disappeared to find the next clue.

After visited the grounds and found the items that related to potion ingredients, Freya marched up towards the owelry. When she was opened the door towards the owlery, she was greeted by her owl, Sly. "Hello Sly. Its greet to meet you too." she petted him. "So how's my favorite owl doing?" she asked and Sly gave her a hoot. She chuckled. "Sorry big guy, I can't play with you now. I have something to do. Maybe next time, kay?" she petted her eagle owl. After searching the castle for some time Emily ventured out into the grounds, her journey led her to the Owlery.... she began to feel guilty. She hadn't visited Dante much at all... in fact she had neglected him dreadfully this term. But she was sure he understood.

As if they were thinking on the same wave length, Dante flew down from the rafters... his large wings stretched out the their fullest...
"Hey Dante", cooed Emily, stroking the feathers on his head. He nibbled at her fingers affectionately...

"Got any potions ingredients in here?" she asked him as she took a turn around the room, her barn owl perched on her extended arm. He flapped his wings excitedly and screeched....

"Was that a yes?" she asked... and thats when she saw them! yes there they were. She took some of them in her hands and turned them over on her palm. Carefully she added it to her bag...
"Sorry Dant's I have to go. I'll come see you after I'm done... I promise!"

After saying her goodbye Emily left the Owlery.

Jake hurried up to the owlery, eager to get this part done. He had been up in the owlery and seen just what he needed for one of these options. He only hoped that one of the owls hadn't nommed one... and dropped dead.

Arriving at the owlery, Jake was pleased at both the absence of dead avians and even some more of what he was expecting. The young man picked one of these up, having the stop himself from getting more, just in case. But no... one would do.

That being done, he placed it in the bag and left again, crossing it off the list and going on the hunt for something else, realising it would be ridiculously hard from this point onwards.

Luin walked up to the owlery, she stopped for a second, catching her breath, she had come up here searching for the items on the list for her potions final. This sure was a different final than she had been expecting. She then started to look around the owlery. As she started walking across she stepped on something that sort of popped. She looked down and smiled, aha! there was an ingredient she needed! She quickly scooped some up and started on her way back down.

Climbing up the stairs Emily really hoped something was here. She'd searched everywhere for the last thing on her list, but it was no-where!
She'd forgotten about the owlery though, so that's where she come... It smelled a lot different than the kitchen.
As she looked at the owls she spotted one pecking at something on the floor. Oh no! It was gonna eat the last thing she needed.
Taking out her apple core she rolled it at the owl so it went chasing after that instead.
She picked up what she needed and smiled. She was done! She hurried out of the owlery and back to potions class. SHE WAS DONE!!!

Huffing and puffing, Kita stood outside the Owlery. "Way. Too. Many. Stairs!" she puffed out. She just hoped she was going to get a good grade out of this.

With her breathing going back to normal, she entered the Owlery and looked around, It had to be here somewhere right?

SWOOSH!

A rush of wings later and she found something was perched on her shoulder. She turned her head and smiled. "Hey Atlanta," she said, "Sorry. No post today." The owl looked sad. Maybe she should visit her more often.

But then the owl took off again, not towards her post, but towards one of the windows. "Wha-" she started. Surely the owl wasn't carrying an invisible letter! But Atlanta had perched herself on the window and was nodding ~~do owls nod?~~ towards a spot on the floor.

Confused, Kita approached the owl. Maybe she needed more treats or something. The smile on her face grew as she realised what the owl was nodding at. "Oh my days!" she said, "Thanks so much!" Scooping up the item, she placed it in her bag and crossed off another clue on the parchment. "Here," she said to the owl, taking out a bag of owl treats, "I'll come and see you soon. Bye!"

"I'll probably see you on TV in a few years. Or maybe hear you on the WWN. Agony Aunt Hour..." he gave a mischevious grin at young lady Mia... "You could be raking in the galleons. What a sweeeeeet job. I could never give people advice. I'm always the one who goes to people FOR advice." Jake laughed again and shook his head. "Unless you need advice on animals or music... then I'm right there."

Perhaps she was astute and perhaps she had a slight advantage because of the things she could see. But neither of those things could help her at the moment when Jake spoke. She blinked a couple of times, totally confused at his explanation of his life.

Thankfully he decided to just summarise it in then end. "Well if it works for you. Then why not?" Mia was just too straight forward for things like that. She asked her parents for something, if they gave it to her then great if not then she just had to deal.

Mia might complain that her family was too boring and too simple but from what she had heard about other people's families, like Jake's for example, she was actually glad that they were boring. "That's all that matters I guess. So long as you get it and your family get it then you should be able to get through it."

That actually made Mia laugh. How many times as a little girl had she dreamed of being of television and making lots of money? Too many to count. "It would be a sweet job." Oh yeah it so totally would. "I actually got offered a modelling job just before I came to Hogwarts." And man she had so wanted to do it to. She gave her shoulders a shrug. "Dad, said I was too young though."

She gave Jake a nudged with her shoulder again. "Yeah but I don't actually give that much advice. I like to think that I actually just sorta guide people in the right direction without telling them what to do, you know?" That way she can't get in trouble if things go wrong.
