"Is this a copy?! And you didn't think someone would get suspicious when they saw Ravenclaw having two captains?!" Honestly, that would be kind of impressive. She didn't know Jacob was even capable of magic. Useful, anyway. If he did manage to produce something with that wand, she figured it would only be...fire, or something unintentional.

Leo was feeling....brave tonight. He was feeling extremely brave. His father had told him he wouldn't make friends unless he talked to people so, that's what Leopold O'Donald was going to do, ATTEMPT to talk to people. Attempt being the keyword here. He eyed the blue people table for a second, studying all of them. Pfft, they didn't look mean or scary at all.

Well, he just had to tell himself this. He just had to keep reminding himself that people WOULD like him if he talked.

He stood in front of the table, big dorky grin on his face. All the blue people were in their own conversation probably talking about things Leopold didn't know much about. He stood there for a bit and then realized...well he probably looked a little bit creepy so it might be best to actually speak.

*cough*

"WASS UP EVERYBODY?!"

Leopold did a little raise the roof dance.

He didn't realize how absolutely silly he looked with his arms in the air. He was just trying ot make friends and if that meant dancing it front of people well, Leopold Gordon O'Donald would DO it.

.....His dad BETTER be right with this approach.

Ellie smirked at the copying remark. She knew it. So, it was stolen then.

Except...except Jacob was crying.. and denying it. "Then...then.." she tried to make sense of it all, "Then someone slipped it into your pocket...or your trunk."

Still didn't explain the tears, but it was the only logical explanation. And besides, Jacob cried at the sight of cake. The tears didn't phase her much.

Winston sat up perfectly straight and stared at the people around him with wide eyes. He wanted to make a good impression. On whom, he wasn't certain, as he knew nobody and did not even know who was in charge here. But his da had told him to "be good," which of course was code for "don't disappoint me." His da probably only would hear from him if he wrote his step-mother and asked her to give him a message, so Winston didn't really need to be particularly impressive, but he hoped that if he stayed on his best behavior and tried very hard to be the top of his class, his da might hear about it.

So. He better sit up even straighter. And chew with his mouth closed, also. Oh, this would be fun.

Winston pulled a smile to his face-sizeable enough to be noticeable, yet inconspicuous enough to seem sincere. There. Now he was ready to make friends and eat his supper and prepare for class.

Oh. Maybe he should have sat closer to the other students.

Ellie laughed along with him, with a skeptical look. Maybe things were that different in America, huh? Interesting. She thought about cracking another joke about the jumping toilets too... Nah, she'd spare him.

She raised her eyebrows. "Oh does it? Why did you decide to come to Hogwarts then?" She inquired, hoping she wasn't being too nosy. It was interesting to hear someone say Hogwarts was much cooler than somewhere else. Hogwarts had always been simply home to her. She smiled.

"You play the drums?!" Chrys' eyes widened. "That is amazing! I have been wanting to learn to play bass or drums, but my mum says they are for rock bands, and that it is unladylike to be play one." She scrunched her face up while reciting her mother opinion, showing her obvious disagreement. I really don't know what to say about me. I mean I enjoy music and reading. I Also enjoy the outdoors, it is so much nicer then being stuck inside all the time and I really don't like sitting still for overly long period of times."

The train ride hadn't been so bad, even with the Quibbler incident at the food trolley. The carriage ride, however...Vashti hadn't enjoyed that at all. And the carriage ride was shorter. Go figure.

But because the carriage ride had come after the train, she was now in a not-so-good mood. She wasn't even hungry anymore, and that was definitely not like her. She really just wanted to go up to her dorm and go to bed, and she actually considered doing it, but coming in with a giant wave of students made it quite difficult to go against the flow. So she'd been forced to come in and now that she was in, she supposed she'd stay. This wouldn't be too bad, she hoped.

Vashti found herself a fairly empty spot at the Ravenclaw table and laid the Quibbler face down on the table in front of her, opening it and flipping through the pages to find something decent to read to pass the time. She soon found that article on nargles Treyen had pointed out earlier and began to read...

That was, until some kid starting SHOUTING at the whole table.

Trying to be friendly, obviously, by the look of him, but did he have to be so LOUD?

"Hey," she said, looking up at him, "You having fun over there?"

Sad... a pirate crying over being captain. from the earliest age he could remember, Jacob always wanted to take over as captain of his fathers ship, but now he was captain of just a team, and he didn't even want that.

Some one slipped it onto his person... "But, it... it came in the letter" unless someone intercepted his letter and placed in the badge. "Wh-Why Would anyone want to give it to me though?" he asked. It just didn't make sense

While Draven was still mingling around he admired the great hall and the magical ceiling. He was feeling nervous waiting to be sorted and noticing the hall filling up rapidly. Suddenly he caught a glimpse of someone he knew sitting at the Ravenclaw table.

"Ellie!" he yelled.

He walked quickly up to and gave her a hug,

"How are you? How have you been?" he asked.

"I bet it was meant for JD," she mused. SIGH. She hadn't thought of him since Diagon, either... Okay, she had. In a way that resulted in a way she REFUSED to be seen in public. But, badge. "But...under the circumstances..." of him ABANDONING her, "It was meant for Vashti."

Dal nodded a few times. "It's a castle, for one. And nobody here knew me before I came here, which is surprisingly nice." He shrugged. Maybe that sounded weird, but oh well. It was true.

He smiled a small smile when she asked that question. No one had asked him that yet. "I heard about it, and I thought it'd be cool to go to school in a different country." Okay, that wasn't the whole story. Dal paused, but soon continued. "Everybody that knew me at Merlin's knew me as either the dorky muggleborn that didn't know anything about magic, or my sisters' little brother." He shrugged again. "I wanted to be myself, I guess."
