Emily smiled, "No my feet have toughened up a lot over the years. I can walk on rocks and break twigs with my feet and it doesn't hurt."

Satine took a quick sip of her pumpkin juice hoping that would calm down her gurgling and hungry stomach for a few seconds, "Hey Evangeline...nice to meet you...Do you go by your full name or do you have a shortened name?" she asked nicely...last term she was here there was an Evangeline that would bite your head off if you called her her full name so Satine was just making sure.

"So what's a Slythie doing wandering over here? Did you hear about our cookies?" she said teasingly to Evangeline. "But really, how's that end of the Great Hall...I mean other than being all green and such?" she said with a smile as she poured her new acquiantance a glass of pumpkin juice and handed it her way.

Ivan walked up to the Ravenclaw table. His house. Aside from James being there he really would have much rather been placed in Gryffindor. With Lexi....sigh. Looking around at the empty goblets and plates he groaned. When would it be time to eat yet? If he didn't get something soon he would.... Well he wasn't sure but he was starving. Finding an empty seat he plopped himself down and looked up at the staff table willing them to get the food on. You want to eat...you want to eat...you want to eat...

"Nice to meet you, Evangeline! I heard you say you are a sixth year, eh? Awesome. I am in fifth year meself," she said as she let her eyes scan the table briefly. Seeing a few empty seats she leaned her head that way and said, "Wanna sit down, then?"

Wow this girl was amazing she had super feet. ”Wow those must be some good feet” Now time to introduce himself ”oh and I'm Daniel”

Hm. At least Emmaleigh didn't seem completely bored with the information. "Merlin's Acadamy of Magic," he said with a nod. "In the U.S." Not a lot of people that he had talked to knew about the school, since it wasn't a big famous school like Durmstrang or Beauxbatons.

"I am Emily pleasure to meet you Daniel." Emily said smiling, haha super feet, indeed they were for what she did. "So Daniel, where are you from?"

"You too," Kellen pointed out. "Ravenclaw prefect. Bravo." He wasn't really sure where the ol' bean and jocular behaviour were coming from, since not even his father acted like that, but he was prepared to chalk it down to nerves and not look too much further into it.

Then came the tidal wave of words, and while it left some kind of lasting imprint on his brain the first thing Kellen did was reply, "Er... you don't? Smell like old people?" Ten points for catching the question in all of that?

Kellen felt relieved that someone else in this hall had spent their life not marinating in the works of Tolkien, and waved at the bench space around them, "Sure, take a seat. The more the merrier."

He shrugged at Ivory, trying to get rid of the nerves still clinging about his person. How'd it feel to be head boy? "Like I should know what I'm doing and still feel like I'm mostly winging it. How about you, Trixie?"

Satine glanced over and noticed another person sitting by himself...being the social butterfly that she is, she smiled at him and waved, "Howzit, I'm Satine, Sixth Year...and you are?" she said extending her right hand out in his direction to shake his hand. "Well besides starving like the rest of us..." she added with a little giggle.

She shook her head. "I haven't heard of that school." she said "Besides Hogwarts, the only other Wizarding schools I know of are Durmstrang and Beauxbatons. And I've only head of them because some of their students were here last term for the Triwizard Tournament." she explained. "If you don't mind me asking, what made you transfer?" she asked curiously, hoping she wasn't being rude.

Staring intently at the plate in front of him as he was as if that would cause the food to appear, he hadn't paid attention to anyone else until someone was holding out a hand in front of his line of sight. "Oh um...Hi, I'm Ivan." He took her hand with a smile and sighed, "When do we get to eat?" It really was ridiculous. He'd have to take a page out of Miles' book and stock up on stuff though...maybe not chocolate.

Emily. Didn't he know some one else called Emily probably did. Emily was a common name but so was Daniel so it didn't really matter ” Hi Emily. Are you new here?” Probably not but it coudn't hurt to ask. ”Oh where am I from? Nowhere special just Kent”

Satine smiled her sparkling smile at him and shook his hand back, "Well, it's great to meet you Ivan! Did you just ge to the Feast?" she asked glancing to see what time it was...it had already been forty five minutes...surely he hadn't just arrived...maybe he got lost?..."What year are you Ivan?" she asked nicely trying to get the new acquiantance to talk with her.

Just then her stomach growled again, "Well, they serve the food as soon as the Headmaster gives his welcome speech...which..." it growled again, "I'm hoping is soon...." she reached in her purple bang and pulled out a red, blue, green, and rainbow candy, "Would you like a licorice wand while you wait? These are my absolut faves."

Emily smiled "No I'm a fifth year." she said smiling.

"Evangeline, or Eva. Whichever." She said. Just not Angie. Never, ever Angie.

"A mixture of being a bit bored at my own table, and realizing that I don't know any Ravenclaws, or many people at Hogwarts at all, really." She said to Satine. "You have cookies? Nobody told me about this." Evangeline smirked. "Well, it's very green, like you say." Evangeline said. "But very good." She said, taking a sip of the glass of pumpkin juice she was given. "Thank you."

"Yes, sixth year." She said. "Ah, fifth year." Lexi seemed like she was only a bit younger than Evangeline. "Yes, that sounds good." She said, taking a seat beside the girl.

Winston heard a voice that felt like it was directed in his direction, and looked toward the girl who was speaking. Loosen up? At Hogwarts? Was she crazy? He had to be on even better behaviour now that he'd gotten here than the train. There were more people who could see him now. Winston gave the girl a quizzical smile while he tried to think of what he was to say in reply to such a suggestion.

He had nothing. Nothing worthwhile to say. He nodded to show he had heard her, though by this point she had probably forgotten all about him. Ah well. Such were the perils of thinking before speaking.

Noticing a girl who moved to sit a little to close for his comfort (she was within a meter of him, for Merlin's sakes!), Winston redirected his nervous smile at the girl. "Yes, I'm quite nervous," he agreed slowly. "I've never seen so many wizards and witches in one place before. Have you?"

While he waited to hear her reply, Winston gazed up into the skies. Wait. The skies? Weren't they inside? There should be a ceiling there! He frowned.

Elyon walked up to the Ravenclaw table, hoping to make some new friends that weren't just in Gryffindor. The problem was.... she didn't know anyone here. She sat down, hoping someone would greet her.

"Then Evangeline or Eva it is.." she said with a wink.

Satine listened and then replied, "O yes I understand that...I'm always wondering around to the other tables...actually my three besties are Slythies...they were the first peeps I met on the train in our first years together so I quite often go visit the Snakers table." cookies cookies cookies...yes...where are they...she reached over a girl next to her and grabbed the tray of cookies, "Here take one...they are in the shape of eagles...." she scrunched up her eyes, "Well atleast I think that's what that's supposed to be." she said with a little giggle.

"O you are very welcome...I'm excited for the Headmaster to get up there and get to talking quick so we can eat...I swear I think he pauses longer and longer each year." she said nibbling on one of the eagle-ish shaped cookies.

Winston spotted movement out of the corner of his eye and turned from gazing at the ceiling to see a girl in different robes than most of the people at his table.

"You're not a Ravenclaw," he noted. "Are you a first year, though?" This girl had to have something in common with him, or he could not carry on an intelligent conversation with her. If she was not a first year, then he would hope that her name also started with a W.

Elyon looked up to see a boy about her age sitting near her. "Actually, I'm in Gryffindor. But I am a first year! Are you?" She gave him a friendly smile and held out her hand for him to shake. "I'm Elyon James. Nice to meet you.... Erm... I didn't catch your name."

"I might see you around, then. If you're in my year and friends with Slytherins." She said. "Cookies." She smiled, taking one of the cookies the vaguely resembled an eagle. "But they're kind of demented, for an eagle." She said, taking a bite. They certainly tasted good, however. "I think I might be coming over to the Raveclaw table more often, if you have cookies that taste this good." She said.

"Yes, I hear that food is rather good, at Hogwarts?"

Winston squinted at the girl, trying to remember what he had read about Gryffindors. Lions...red and gold. Yes, that fit, from the looks of her uniform. But what else had he read about them? Brave...and true of heart. Sure, she looked brave and true of heart. Well, maybe. Winston didn't really know what brave and true of heart looked like. But someone like that would likely make a good friend, aye?

Winston grinned at the girl. Yes. He could be friends with her. She too was a first year! "I'm Winston. It's nice to meet you...El...y...on," he said slowly, breaking her name into three syllables. "I'm a first year. We first years have got to stick together. There's so many people in here."

"No I was at the Gryffindor table over there," he said with a nod toward the table. "I'm a 5th year. Just transferred." FOOD!!! His eyes stared at the plate trying to work his magic again to no avail.

"Well he needs to give his speech then," geez. Didn't they know better? Hearing her question he looked at the candy in her hand and nodded, "YES! Please. I'm feel like my stomach is about to eat itself," He said with a laugh.

He had to. He had to get there, to the Ravenclaw table. He needed to tell Ellie something.

And since she was easy to spot, you know, redhead and all, then he made his way, rather fast too, he was being sneaky this evening, apparently. The guy taking over Vindictus' chair had made him feel quite uneasy. That and the Quibbler thing.

"Ellie," he said, with a smile, and he spared a nod to the boy she was talking to, "Sorry for the interruption," because Tate hadn't given his speech yet and he hated to be out of his table before that. He only assumed that whatever they were talking was important. Ravenclaws were most famous from being smart. Not that he wasn't. He could be smarter than them all, you know.

"I...wanted to point something out for you," and he leaned forward so she'd be the only one to listen to what he had to say next, "I think we have a female Divination Professor," he said, while gesturing towards Nolan's usual spot. The one he'd rather see empty, by all means. Especially since that one was a female.

There was also someone else sitting at Kingsley's place, but he only thought the man was being late or was pretty busy himself as to head down to the Great Hall.

"Well yes I guess you're right i prolly will see you a lot...I'm really good friends with Iris, Aaron, and Fallon." Satine said as she thought about taking a bit of her cookie...but where to start at the head or the back or feet...she decided the back would be the best choice, "Wow, these things are great! I need to find out who brought them over to our table...I think it was a Gryffie but I'm not sure...."

She had just brought up one of Satine's fave subjects, "O yes yes yes...the food here is just divine...I mean it's like most places where there are a few things you should steer clear of but, that's just a couple of things...everything else is just...well it's just perfect. I always gain like thirty pounds in the first month of term eating all the time in here...." she paused to swallow since her mouth was watering so bad... "They even have in between snacks in here between meals...just awesome! Our house elves are some of the best and actually the most nice."

"Well then, welcome to Hogwarts and Ravvie! Where did you transfer from?" she asked with a smile as she handed him a licorice wand. "Yes I wish he would hurry up but they look like there's some excitement up at the staff table so I guess he's preoccupied." she said pointing that direction."I heard the Headmaster and one of the professors are not fond of each other at all, so it could be an interesting term...." Satine was afraid that was going to be an understatment...her mother had told her the conflict could lead to a down right muggle fight...she had ten galleons on Tate no matter who it was.
