Trixie, after finally managing to escape from the tons of first years and new students that were completely filling up the Slytherin table, headed over to the Ravenclaw table for two reasons, number one her close friend Vashti was over here, but she looked like she was deep in conversation with someone else, and reason number two, because she was searching for the person whom would become her partner (in crime) this term. The Head Boy.
And she was right to have found him at the Ravenclaw end, he was with the female prefect by the looks of it. The badge was hard to miss on his uniform and the seventeen year old approached him with a smile. "Thought I'd come introduce myself, we'll probably be working a lot with each other this term" she smiled softly, trying not to let her current mood bring her down. "Well I'm Trixie. Trixie Malfoy, Head Girl obviously" she glanced down at her own badge and then back up.
She glanced across at the prefect and smiled at her too.
And here was all the reminder he needed that he really should have made his way to the front of the train before it arrived at school. Kellen held out a hand for Trixie to shake, a bit of an embarrassed grin showing on his face, "Kellen Stern. I was planning on meeting you earlier, but kind of got... inexcusably sidetracked. Trying to stop the rampant spread of Lord of the Rings discussion."
It was a legitimate concern, in his not-so-humble opinion.

Oh Well. What ever, it was probably better not to ask. "Ellie." he said with a nod... great, his brain was working super hard now... he had to match one Ellie with two diffrent faces. That was just perfect.
Oh and she had quidditch questions... he didn't really want that 'til the common room, but what ever. "Sure, go right ahead" he said with what he hoped was a smile
Ellie frowned slightly. He seemed less than enthusiastic. Was that her fault...? She pushed a faint smile out. "Well first, when are tryouts?" She asked. Oh booy, she hoped she would get on the team. She had bought herself a new broom over the summer and had been practicing hard.
And second, for those people that were on the team last year, do they have to try out again?" She was hoping yes. It would be a bit unfair if she went to try out and find out that the chaser positions were taken. She smiled faintly again, hoping he would be a little more excited. He was the Quidditch captain after all...

"Congratulations kid!" What was that, like, the 4th time she said that tonight?
Ellie managed a smile for Spike's sake, though she was really still thinking about Jacob and as confused as ever. She leaned over to give him a hug...inches from him, though, she remembered the insects on his person. Yeah, not a good idea maybe?
"You'll do great in here." He would be fun to hang out with in the common room. He was a cool kid after all. Unlike Jacob.
He still managed to look perplexed as he offered a smile at Ellie's congratulations. "You don't just have to be book-ish to be in Ravenclaw, do you? You can be clever...in other ways?" He looked at her doubtfully. If that wasn't the case...then maybe he should consider that Sorting Hat again.
"It's okay," he said as she stopped short of a hug. "I've told Matilda to stay well out the way, and all the others are below table height." And that to him, was the furthest away they should be. They weren't dangerous, afterall. And he didn't want them squished or hurt as much as Ellie didn't want to touch them.
"I hope so... It certainly looks good fun. Staying in a massive castle, and the moving staircases, and the suits of armour, and the dungeons..." His eyes lit up. "It'd be an EPIC game of Hide and Seek here." If others would play with him, of course. "And is it true there's a Giant Squid you can tickle?"
Fallon listened as Satine talked. It really was disturbing. Especially the part about not being able to disclose that her dad was a muggle. "Wow. I didn't think people like that were still around. Then again, some people just don't change." It really was horrible that there were still wizards that thought that way.
Fallon giggled at Satine's excitement. "The heels and jewelry sound fun. Oh that reminds me!" Fallon dug around in her bag for Satine's gift. She had completely forgotten about them until now. She would have to give everyone else theirs once they got to the common room. She finally found the one wrapped in sparkly purple wrapping paper. "This is for you." She handed Satine the present, hoping she would like it.
Fallon didn't know if there would be. Most people behaved at Hogwarts, which was kind of strange. "I'll start researching some other things then. Maybe stuff from way back in the past." She knew there had been many infamous pranksters throughout Hogwarts history. They just needed to be researched.
Satine shook her head, "Yes very sad and no one there understood why other schools would learn about Muggles...it was just sooo odd." she said quickly, and luckily Fallon changed the subject quickly with the thought of heels and jewelery.
Satine's face lit up when she saw the sparkly purple wrapping paper. "OOOOO for me? Fallon you shouldn't have!" she said giving her friend a huge hug. She had soooo missed her friends here at Hogwarts. She slowly unwrapped the gift and was so excited at what was inside. The necklace was just...welll...just perfect..."O Fallon, it's just beautimous!" she said holding it up so it sparkled in the candles on the roof. Satine instantly put it on. "How does it look?" she asked rubbing her fingers over the purple flowers.
The feast had already begun when Sofia entered the hall. She noticed that there were a lot of people sat in groups talking so as fast as she could she perched on the end of the bench on the Ravenclaw's table. She swore she had never seen so much food in her life. There was enough to feed everyone in the hall twice and still have food left over. Her parents had said that feasts at Hogwarts were always amazing.
Sofia perked up at the sound of Quidditch- she loved the sport after all. Grabbing her plate she moved towards the conversation. "Hi", she waved awkwardly, "I'm Sofia, I'm a first year, can I sit with you?"
Natasha looked behind her, to see where the source of the voice came from. Sure enough, there was a girl standing there, perhaps not much older than herself. Waiting anxiously for an answer to her question.
"Sure!" said Natasha, scooching over to make room. "I'm Natasha, I'm a first year too, and a muggleborn." she added with a smile. "Nice to meet you, Sofia."
It was amazing how friendly everyone was here.

She chuckled a little at Natasha's next question. "I don't think you have anything to worry about. You can learn how to fly at flying lessons, but I'm sure you won't be forced to go real high as a firstie." Personally, Charisa was looking forward to flying lessons.
Natasha was fascinated. Well, of course wizards would have a sport of their own, it was a culture after all, and most cultures did. She couldn't wait to learn all about it. And who knows? Maybe she'd even try it someday.
"I dont know, I told myself, I'd try to get over my fear." she told Charisa. "So I guess I'll give flying a try, not that I have a choice." she said giggling, and pouring herself a cup of juice. "Maybe I'll like it; maybe I'll even get good at it."
Or maybe it will be a disaster...

"I guess..." she decided was an appropriate answer. "The weather was considerably nicer, I have to admit. But I like to spend my time inside anyways. And being born in California and lived in Spain, I dont get to see cold weather often. I'm excited to see snow!" she said animatedly.
Yep Natasha + snow should definitely be interesting...

It was? Mmmmmmm..... Fine, then. Ellie went in for a full hug. As long as Matilda didn't make an appearance inches from her face, she was alright.
Hide and Seek in the castle? That was pure brilliance. "See, Ravenclaw brain right there," she pointed out. About the squid, though, "Supposedly. I've never seen it. We had a class held outside last term, aimed so that we would see it, but we never did."
And she was totally forgetting about the Jacob squabble, now.

"Me, I'm a first year. I never asked your name, mine's Sofia, Sofia Kurt but I don't know if I told you that already." She tucked a strand of hair behind her hair nervously and began to fiddle with one of her plaits.
"aww you're gunna love it here" she said happily "my name Lilly-anne alumus" she hadnt even realised she hadnt introduced herself how rude
Sofia turned and smiled again, "I'm half-and half, it's confusing actually. See my mum's a pureblood but my dad's a half-blood which also makes me a halfblood. How much do you know about the wizarding world?"
She loved muggles, her Grampie was one so Sofia was aware of some of the things they did. Her mother always said it was amazing what they did without magic.

She loved muggles, her Grampie was one so Sofia was aware of some of the things they did. Her mother always said it was amazing what they did without magic.
Natasha nodded in understanding. "I only know what I've read about so far." she told Sofia, "Mostly history and stuff, so I've still got a lot to learn. But I know about all of the subjects and I know that Hogwarts is the best wizarding school there is! That's why I go here, even though technically I live in Spain."

Jacob thought for a few seconds about the first question, he still hadn't completely decided everything. "Well, I'll make the final changes to the try-outs when the sign ups are closed, and I'll post them on the common room Notice board." he stopped and thought a few more seconds before making the final statement. "Don't worry, I'll place notices about it where ever I can. You wont miss it." Yup Jacob was going to be good mister captain.
Jacob smiled at this one. "Yes, everyone must try-out again." except himself of course, but you know, that was sort of the luxury to all the hard work he's been doing over the summer. "We never know when some fresh new talents will step foot onto our pitch." Cause if Miss Stone's attitude and forced apologies didn't change, she would most definently be off the team, and he would need to find a new beater... Maybe the gorilla, yes he'll find use for the Gorilla after all.
"Is there anything else?" he asked trying to sound as friendly as possible, and he looked up at the staff table... come on Tate, Belly Hungry! Belly need food!
Natasha nodded in understanding. "I only know what I've read about so far." she told Sofia, "Mostly history and stuff, so I've still got a lot to learn. ooc: Were you talking to me?
OOC: I was, sorry for not being clear
"You live in Spain? What's it like? I live in England all the time." She paused, rubbed her nose and continued, "My parents went here, they didn' really tell me much about it but I did some research and read about it. I think the coolest thing is the hall sky. What about you?"
Natasha thought for a moment. It would probably be mean to say she didnt miss it at all, and unfair because she did miss the country, she just didn't miss her mother and all of the drama that Spain brought.

I sort of imagined it to be this big amazing moment and that when the hat was placed on my head i would feel well...magical, but to be honest that hat is just plain creepy."
"Thanks." Said Willow sitting down. "Aimee* is a lovely name too. Are you French? You sound French... i love the French accent. It's trez magnifique! I'm from Ireland though I lived in Yorkshire. Then I didn't really live anywhere...Now I live here." Willow looked up at the ceiling. "...Woah. How do they do that?"
Smiling at Willow as she sat down, Aimée mused over her name; she didn't particularly think it was very special, but she guessed it was kinda pretty. A name made for somebody prettier than her, maybe. She shrugged. "Zank you," she murmured. "Oui, I am from France. Do you know any French?" Because she'd said 'très magnifique', so maybe she knew some more? "Es zis your first year here, zen?"
Following Willows gaze to the ceiling, Aimée noted how pretty it looked; the stars glittered, and they did really look like the night outside had done, when she'd glimpsed it from the carriages. "It es charmed, to look like ze sky outdside," she said softly, looking back down at the girl.

OH And that her house colour was green. Four facts wasn't really a lot but meh, she'd not heard anything about not being able to socialise with people in other houses so she was gonna spend lots and lots of time with Aimée, well aslong as Aimée wanted too. Harley hoped she did because she was her first friend and she was awesome; that was always a bonus.
Harley listened as Aimée said she didnt think she'd get lost, not really noticing the emphasis on think, she only noticed the emphasis when Aimée said she knew she'd get lost. Aww. "Well, maybe if we got lost together it wouldnt be so bad." They could just panic together. hehe.
The redhead giggled as Aimée laughed. Waiting for a reply anxiously, her face light up as the word yes escaped Aimée's mout. along with some other words but yeah Harley hadnt been listening to those. "YAY! I looove superhero's. theyre so cooool. What else do you like ?"
Thinking back to everything she's ever read about the Hogwarts Houses, Aimée was pleased to realise that, although she'd read about house rivalry, she'd never heard anything being said that you couldn't or even shouldn't be friends with people from other houses. Which was good - it meant she could still have awesome friends like Harley, who weren't in her house. Yay for awesome friends!
Getting lost together seemed alright, Aimée contemplated. "Maybe we should explore, when ze feast is finished?" she asked Harley with a giggle. And make a map, so they wouldn't be late for lessons. Although that sounded like a lot of work for Aimée, so maybe she'd stick to getting lost, hehe. Maybe getting lost would be fun though.
Aimée laughed at Harleys reaction to her simple answer. "Um... Orange juice! And jellies!" she exclaimed, laughing. "And swimming!" And now, for some reason she was really hyper. o_O

And she was totally forgetting about the Jacob squabble, now.
She was laughing him! See, he knew he didn't belong here. Even nice Miss Ellie thought it was funny he wasn't bookish. He frowned, and turned to glare at that tatty hat. But then, her tone was reassuring. "Sure, sure? Because otherwise I'm not sure I belong here... Is it a nice House to be in?"
He relaxed as she hugged him, feeling a bit more at home. Though he was excited to be here, away from his parents and free(ish) to do what he wanted...there was nervousness and uncertainty too, and a bit of homesickness, even if he wouldn't admit it after less than a day away.
"You'd play with me?" he asked, taking that she meant the idea of Hide and Seek, and not his general list of things at Hogwarts. And she hadn't seen the squid? Pout. Though, it didn't mean to say it wasn't there - someone believed it was to put a class on to see it. "We should totally go find it. I knew I should have packed my snorkel..."
"Well, I did cry, but only a little," Kurumi winked reassuring Alice as best she could. "The Sorting Hat is a it mysterious. I was surprised it was so old looking. You can also go to their office and talk any time you want. I would go and visit professors often, but....two of my favorite haven't returned this year." Kurumi frowned slightly.

Emily pulled her wild blonde hair from her face and placed it behind her ear. She held her long Yew wand in her hand and hoped that this year they would have some good vegetarian food. She had missed Hogwarts but now that she was far away from the Gypsy village in Canada she missed the smell of the trees and the sound of the brook that flowed near her caravan that used to put her to sleep along with the sounds of the crickets. She missed running bare foot (like she was now) through the fields and snapping the twigs under her feet. Her feet had toughened from spending so much time outside. She missed her aunt (there were many greats before the title, but far more than Emily cared to remember) she missed being called Vadoma by her fellow gypsies. It was the village her mother was from, it was her past and her pressent, and because of her aunt her future. She had a satchel around her waist with intricate designs that she had made that summer, it contained tarot cards, a rune set, an antique tea cup, a pack of loose tea and a silk scarf all inherited by her.
Emily desperately hoped that in transportation that her crystal ball, inside her trunk, was not hurt. She inherited it as well, it was over a hundred years old. She also hoped her albino ferret, Karma, was okay up in the dorm. She missed her Kneazle Bubbles, but she had stayed behind in the village.
Emily looked around her, she must look a sight! She wore a white peasant blouse, a black scrap-skirt she had made from black fabric scraps she had gathered all summer and her ravenclaw robe. She also wore no shoes and the bottom of her feet looked dark from their toughness.

Yay, flying!
Charisa smiled. "Yes, that's the spirit," she said, nodding. "You'll be brilliant." She took her glass of pumpkin juice and had a sip or two. Then she reached for some bread. "We'll help each other through the first flying lesson, okay?" she said. It would be wonderful to have a friend there.
"You live in Spain? What's it like? I live in England all the time." She paused, rubbed her nose and continued, "My parents went here, they didn' really tell me much about it but I did some research and read about it. I think the coolest thing is the hall sky. What about you?"
"Spain was really nice." Natasha answered. [B]"Better weather than England I have to admit, but otherwise I like it better here. I like speaking English better than speaking Spanish."
What was the coolest thing? She had to pick one? "The sky is pretty cool." she said, "But everything's amazing to me. I've never seen anything like any of this this before!" she said animatedly.
Alice smiled "Thank you kindly Alysiana!" Alice said smiling, "So where are you from?"
"I'm from Philly in America! Are you excited for the classes that we'll have? I really can't wait for Arithamancy and Divination!", said Alysiana beaming.
"I am sure there is a charm put on it to prevent that," Kurumi laughed. "Of course," Kurumi nodded. "Professors are always willing to meet students. You can also go to their office and talk any time you want. I would go and visit professors often, but....two of my favorite haven't returned this year." Kurumi frowned slightly.
Alice's eyes were wide with shock, "Oh really? Who are they then? And why do you think they wouldn’t come back? If i had a job here i would never leave!"
