Jacob thought for a few seconds about the first question, he still hadn't completely decided everything. "Well, I'll make the final changes to the try-outs when the sign ups are closed, and I'll post them on the common room Notice board." he stopped and thought a few more seconds before making the final statement. "Don't worry, I'll place notices about it where ever I can. You wont miss it." Yup Jacob was going to be good mister captain.
Jacob smiled at this one. "Yes, everyone must try-out again." except himself of course, but you know, that was sort of the luxury to all the hard work he's been doing over the summer. "We never know when some fresh new talents will step foot onto our pitch." Cause if Miss Stone's attitude and forced apologies didn't change, she would most definently be off the team, and he would need to find a new beater... Maybe the gorilla, yes he'll find use for the Gorilla after all. "Is there anything else?" he asked trying to sound as friendly as possible, and he looked up at the staff table... come on Tate, Belly Hungry! Belly need food! |
Ellie nodded while he explained. She was relieved that everyone had to re-tryout for positions.
"Sounds great. I'll be looking for your posts at the notice board then." She said with a smile. Booooy, she was excited to try out this year. She'd worked her little hiney off all summer practicing.
She noticed him look anxiously at the staff table.
"Weell, I won't waste any more of your time, then." She said. Good idea.
"Thanks again!" She said as she got up. She gave him a small wave and moved back to her previous seat.

On to something more interesting and less embarrassing. "No way!" He laughed lightly at her enthusiasm. "Well, no, of course not." he shook his head like that was an awful idea, but was having a hard time keeping the smile off of his face. "I'm not that shallow." Aaaand that was a big fat lie.
He laughed at her expression, but looked away incase she thought he was actually laughing at her. (Eh, there is a difference between the two things). He nodded when she said she liked soccer. That sport was pretty popular everywhere, wasn't it? "We should play some time, maybe. I'm not too good either." It sounded like a fun thing to do... until he realized that he didn't have a soccer ball with him, and probably no one else did either. Eh. Oh well. |
Aww, did really just wink?! Cuuute. She laughed, though she did agree that she would look better in a dress than him. She was a girl after all.
Let's hope that was a good enough reason.
Ellie chuckled too, glad to share their favorite Quidditch team in common.
"Oh, not that shallow. Riiight." She joked with a wink.
"I'm only kidding. You seem like a pretty decent guy." She said with a laugh. Plus, it was natural of guys to like an all girl Quidditch team.
Heck, if there were an all guys Quidditch team Ellie would be aaaall over it.
Man, was he laughing at her? She was good at making blank expressions. But it's his fault, right? He's the one who unloaded 23487 muggle entertainment terms on her at once... right? Heh, whatever. She laughed at herself too. It was a bit amusing.
Really? She asked, raising her eyebrows. Yay, love soccer!
"I mean, yeah! We should definitely play sometime. You don't er... happen to have a soccer ball with you, do you?" She asked skeptically. She'd never heard of a student bringing a soccer ball to Hogwarts. Maybe she could have her mother send one in the mail. Hmm...

He had to be on even better behaviour now that he'd gotten here than the train. There were more people who could see him now. Winston gave the girl a quizzical smile while he tried to think of what he was to say in reply to such a suggestion.
...
He had nothing. Nothing worthwhile to say. He nodded to show he had heard her, though by this point she had probably forgotten all about him. Ah well. Such were the perils of thinking before speaking. |
Ellie raised her eyebrows, shocked. Nothing? Not a word? Peep? Sound effect? Well, she got a smile (was that considered a smile?) for starters. Oh, and a nod. Gotta start somewhere, right? She pondered for a second, looking around. She looked back at the boy. He looked like a first year. Young, small, nervous as heck.
"You a little nervous?" She asked. She was determined to get some sort of vocal acknowledgment out of him.

As much as Ellie tried to cheer Draven up, when she added that her father had passed it didnt help too much. "Wow, im so sorry" he said again.
He could tell she was putting on a good face about it all so he did his best to give her a smile. He knew the kind of pain she may be feeling as well after the death of Sven two years ago. "Yea, i lost my best friend two years ago so i kind of know what your going through. It must be tough" he said to her. "Well, im your friend and you can talk to me about anything if you wish Ellie" he said smiling.
He listened intently as she talked about her father, he could tell she loved him very much and he sounded like a great guy and wizard. |
Ellie frowned as Draven talked about his friend that had recently passed too. She knew how he felt though. Ellie's father was her best friend. She was never social as a child and sought out friendship through her dad. She nodded.
"Yes. It is tough, I won't deny that. But it's also a great learning experience. I learned to become more independant because of my situation with my mother." She said.
Draven's words made Ellie happy.
"Thank you very much, Draven. That means a lot to me. There's not many people out there that offer to listen to their so-called friends sad stories. And you know you can always count on me too! I'm always here for ya!" She said, smiling at her friend.

Fee blushed again when Ellie grinned at her like that. Why did she had a hard time not blushing, lately?! She soo knew that grin from herself, now Hugo got a new stalker.Haha."There is nothing going on between us",the blonde shook her head,"unfortunately we are just friends. And besides i am still confused because of my ex."Not that she wasnt over Edmond, but still there was this tiny bit.And it didnt seem that Hugo liked her anyway. But then Fee started to giggle.Ellie was just soo cute.Did she really think it wasnt obvious?!"The way you look at him betrays you",the blonde winked,"but dont worry others are too blind to see."Maybe it just wad because Alex was her best friend, who knew. When the Ravvie poked her, the little Slytherin almost jumoed from her place laughing."I am sure you will figure out soon enough",she winked.Mysterious.Hehe.Jow could they not see that they were totally crazy about eachother?!
Ohhh they would practise together? That was going to be soo fun."Ahhn we would never gang up on you",the girl chuckled,"we are the innocent ones."Well, maybe they werent fully but there had to be some reason fr them being in Slyterin right?!Hehe. |
Ellie nodded with a smile. What in the world would she do without friends?
She smiled while Fee blushed. It really was adorable! But then she frowned. Oohh, ex trouble.
"Oh... I'm sorry." She said.
"Well, anything you want to talk about?" She offered. She didn't mind talking about "love life" trouble or anything.
"But no pressure if you don't want to" She smiled. Fee was her friend; if she could help her in any way, she would.
She raised her eyebrows. She was caught.
The way you look at him betrays you. Fee had said. Oh sweeeet potato pie, she wasn't kidding was she?! She leaned forward to the blonde.
"Seriously?" She whispered loudly. Shame on her feelings for having no self control! Even though Fee said people were blind to it... Was he?
"What about... Alex?" She asked still a little hunched forward and whispering.
"Do you think he can... y'know, tell?" Sigh, there was no hiding it from Fee anymore. If she lied about her feelings, Detective Fee would know in an instant.
Ellie laughed.
"Oh, right. Slytherin? The innocent ones?" she joked. What a joooke. No one was
ever innocent when it came to Quidditch. The Quidditch Pitch should have been named the Battle Feild of Anger and Terror. Hmm, suiting name. [/proud]

Alex laughed at her, he didn't seem like someone that went around eating people. Should he take that as a compliment. It was a weird one though... "No I don't go nomming on people." he winked. Nomming, hehe sounded funny. "Do you?" he smirked teasing her. Oh well you never knew she might. "Yeah same. Isn't there like an announcement thingy somewhere?" Thingy.. Why did he say that? Because he didn't exactly know what he meant but still, it didn't sound very smart and smart was what he needed to be when Ellie was around.
He scraped his shoe on the ground for a while figuring out what to say. What could he say?! Whyyyy was his mind all blank when he talked to Ellie. Perhaps because she made his thoughts all blurry and his mind all dizzy... Huh, it was a head scratcher. Perhaps there was some wicked magic behind it all. Iiinteresting. "Missing the Leaky?" he grinned. There was where she had lived during the summer right? She'd told him, or perhaps she'd made his mind all blurry again. Facepalm. |
Phew, Ellie laughed
at herself with him. Good, now she wouldn't have to watch her back in case Alex was preparing to bite her. Not that she really worried about it. Er...
"Nah, I quit biting people years ago. It's unsanitary" She joked.
She let a small laugh out.
"Announcement thingy?" She smirked.
"Well, I think the captians are supposed to post notices on the Common Room notice boards." She said shrugging. Oh yes, she'd check the board day and night, she would.
Awkward pause. She fingered the snake ring on her middle finger. Her mind was going blank again like it always did when she talked to Alex. Oh good, he thought of something. She smiled at the thought of the Leaky. But mostly because Alex remembered she'd stayed there.
"Well, since we just got here, it just feels like a little road trip. But give me a month or two and I'll be missing it like crazy again." she smiled. She looked up at him.
"You missing New York?" she asked. It must be hard being so far away from family.
