Oh. Maybe he should have sat closer to the other students.
Taking a sip of her water, she looked around and noticed a boy, presumably a first year sitting very properly. He was sitting straight up and smiling like a perfect little boy would. Ellie couldn't help but smile. It seemed a little odd to her for someone to seem so proper on the first day of term.
She set her cup down and leaned towards him. "Hey." She said simply. "Loosen up, you're at Hogwarts now." She winked at him. This could either be the best or worst experience of his life. Ellie didn't know who he was but he deserved to have some fun in life.

He walked quickly up to and gave her a hug,
"How are you? How have you been?" he asked.
Ellie heard someone call out to her and saw Draven walking over to her. She smiled. "Hey Draven! Have a seat." She offered. "I've been great! Sat with Tay on the train." She said, gently nudging his side. "How about you?" she asked, taking another sip of water.
"Oh!" Riiiiiiight, of course the plates don't jump. Because that would be unusual. Almost as unusual as chocolate frogs that actually jump and carriages that pull themselves. They didn't have those at his old school. Well, not the carriages at least. "Of course not." He laughed, and decided to change the subject.
"I love it," Dallin told her with a nod. "Florida I mean. Not Merlin's." He frowned slightly. "It wasn't a bad school by any means... but no, it was nothing like Hogwarts. Hogwarts seems much cooler." Maybe it was just the new experiences thing, but Dal didn't think it was.
BlinkBlink.
What was that kid doing? Dallin stared at him, waiting until he was done... dancing? to actually respond. "Hey, dude." he said simply, leaning forward over the table a bit. He didn't know if the kid would hear him over his dancing and looking funny, but it was nice to try at least.
COOL! *beam* He had actually managed to get someone's attention, a DUDE'S attention. Maybe this place would be better than Beauxbatons? Leopold sure HOPED so, GIGGLE.SNORT. He stood proudly, nodding his head. He probably looked crazy still...even if he wasn't dancing anymore. He just his hands on his hips, "HEY!"He said excitedly. He liked this, he LIKED not being treated like a dork.It was.....cool.
Should he have probably sat down about then? Probably, he didn't though. He didn't want to. He was just gonna stand here and pretend he was COOL. Maybe they would actually THINK he was cool?
"how's it going, homedog?"
He was being hip,right?

She really just wanted to go up to her dorm and go to bed, and she actually considered doing it, but coming in with a giant wave of students made it quite difficult to go against the flow. So she'd been forced to come in and now that she was in, she supposed she'd stay. This wouldn't be too bad, she hoped.
Vashti found herself a fairly empty spot at the Ravenclaw table and laid the Quibbler face down on the table in front of her, opening it and flipping through the pages to find something decent to read to pass the time. She soon found that article on nargles Treyen had pointed out earlier and began to read...
That was, until some kid starting SHOUTING at the whole table.
Trying to be friendly, obviously, by the look of him, but did he have to be so LOUD?
"Hey," she said, looking up at him, "You having fun over there?"
OH HEY LOOK ANOTHER PERSON TO TALK TO!!
Leopold's head turned around swiftly, making a loud crack while doing so. Uhm...OUCH. That HURT. He wasn't going to SAY it cause he would have seemed like a BABY and he couldn't be cool and be a baby at the same time. It just didn't work. OS HE WAS GOING TO ACT LIKE HE WASN'T IN PAIN.

Oh. Maybe he should have sat closer to the other students.
Brielle sat rigidly, looking around for anyone she may have met earlier. But no, all of them had been sorted to other houses. Sighing, she scooped food to her plate. Despite the shaking of her knees, though, she was happy she had been sorted to Ravenclaw, same as her mom. She smiled then, thinking of how proud her mother would have been.
A few other Claws smiled politely at her, all of them still unsure of what to do, just as she was. All she could do was smile back at them, already trying to guess who would soon be her friend.
Her gaze shifted to the side of the table. And that was when she noticed another boy, sitting as straight as her. Swallowing hard, she moved a bit closer to him. He was a first year too, and it seemed just the right time to make new friends.
"Hey there," she called out, catching his attention. "Nervous, too?" she grinned awkwardly.
Ellie examined the badge some, flipping it over in her hand.
Letter? "What letter?" Someone actually sent mail to Jacob...he had friends? Family, maybe?
SNORT.
"No one wanted to give it to you." Derr. "Most likely the letters got mixed up. Or the owls." Who knows, older owls tended to be a bit less reliable.
"I bet it was meant for JD," she mused. SIGH. She hadn't thought of him since Diagon, either... Okay, she had. In a way that resulted in a way she REFUSED to be seen in public. But, badge. "But...under the circumstances..." of him ABANDONING her, "It was meant for Vashti."
Now, where was she?
What letter? "The letter with all the school supplies." he said "Don't you get it too?" That would be weird... why wouldn't she get it, unless they stopped giving the list to people except those that they started when they were first invited to the school. But then how would kids know if they got into thge school, and what about muggle borns.
No one Wanted to give it to him? It finnally hit Jacob...people didn't like him... Why wouldn't people like him? Lainey Liked him... She always seemed to know what to say, no matter how embarrising, it seemed to always make him feel better. "Thanks" he said indignently. She was making him feel bad about himself.
He took the badge and moved past Ellie to a seat far from everyone else, he first looked around for Vashti, if it was meant for her then he'll give it to her, but then up at the staff table for Professor V. He would know the actual answer. Jacob put the Badge down on the table next to his plate, and then took the fork, starting to play with the food on his plate.
Ellie heard someone call out to her and saw Draven walking over to her. She smiled. "Hey Draven! Have a seat." She offered. "I've been great! Sat with Tay on the train." She said, gently nudging his side. "How about you?" she asked, taking another sip of water.
Draven sat next to her excited to see her again. She patted the space next to her for him to sit by her which he gladly did.
"Im doing great, this place is so amazing!" he said to her.
He smiled when she talked about sitting with Tay on the train to Hogwarts. He loved the fact that they were friends and got along well. But then again he wasnt surprised, Ellie was such a nice girl and easy to talk with. He recalled the day he helped her pick up her books in Diagon Alley when they first met. He was just giddy with joy to finally be at school.
"This is just so exciting, i cant believe im finally here. My parents would be in awe right now. Im still a little nervous about my sorting but the more i think about it the more i want to be in the same house as you" he said smiling.
"So did you do anything fun over the summer? You still talking with Alex at all?"
"I know how hard it was for me to get started my first week. We go over homework and study. I bring food and refreshments and I help firt years. If you want please invite some first years so that i feel like im doing something good" she said
Alice smiled "Thanks so much!" she said, "It is nice to know that other people will be there to help if I need it! Especially people who have been in my position! Although I don't think I will have too much trouble, when you live a life like I do there is time for many things, like reading. I read so much, in fact I have read all of my first year books already." Alice said smiling. She could not wait for the feast to be over, in fact, because she had forgotten to bring a book with her to amuse herself during the low points of the feast... perhaps there would be enough people to talk with...
"Quidditch. A post played on brooms...I am actually trying out this year. You got 7 players on each team. 3 chasers, 2 beaters, 1 seeker, and 1 keeper. The keeper is the goalie blocking out the quaffle...Beaters hit this crazy ball thats demented , and so the beaters hit the bludger hoping it will hit other beaters an chasers on the other team. And the chasers hold a quaffle which gives 10 points to the team...Seeker has to chase a tiny fluttering golden ball that makes you win the game...It's really intense but fun to watch..."He explained.
Ok so maybe she didn't want a blow done, but he was preparing himself in a way for the try outs...
She could only stare at Adam wide eyed for a few minutes in amazement. "That sounds really fun, and dangerous! I am guessing the teams represent the seperate houses, and arn't mixed? Oh, I can't wait to see the first match!" By this point Chrys was all but bouncing in her seat in her excitement. "I hope that you are able to make your houses team!"

"Yes...Correct you are....And thank you...Do you think you'd like to try next year once you've seen a match...?It is pretty dangerous, those things can really knock you out and land yourself in the hospital..."Adam nodded. WOOT.
He was such a spaz.
Oh...dear. This kid was really, er, energetic, wasn't he? He'd just cracked his neck from turning to look at her so quickly. Someone please keep the desserts away from him when they appeared.
"Um..." How should she answer that dancing question? Maybe it was rhetorical, though something told her it wasn't. Well, so long as he didn't make her dance, he could very well dance in public as much as he wanted, right? "Sure, if that's what you feel like doing, though I don't recommend doing it during class." Especially not Potions, if this kid valued his life.
Oh, but now he was introducing himself. Very loudly and drawn out. "Nice to meet you, Leo..." Er, there was something after that, she was kind of certain, but she'd missed it after the drawn out "leo" part. Hopefully he didn't mind being called "Leo." "I'm Vashti."

This time when a different girl talked to him, he actually realized it in a normal amount of time. "Oh! Yeah, sure, go ahead." he said, scooting to the other side a bit to give her more room. "I'm Dallin." He added, resisting the urge to facesmack himself. He was an idiot some times.
Smiking widely at the boy she sat down next to him."Nice to meet you Dallin",she said,"i am Feenella."He seemed to have quite the unique name just like her, that was pretty cool. Finally someone else with a name that Fee hadnt heard before."What year are you in?",she asked friendly. He looked a little older than her.Maybe third or fourth year?!

"Company's great," Charisa said, truthfully. She had met exactly zero people on the train ride. Not even any first years like her! "Are you a second year? A third year?"Fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh? Ehh, how could you tell anyway?
Fee chuckled a little when she heard how the girl was saying her name out loud. Some really had problems with it because they had never heard it before. But it was funny."Nice to meet you Charisa",the blonde smiled widely,"by the way you can call me Fee."All people she knew did and it was just much easier for everyone.

Okay, that wasn't the whole story. Dal paused, but soon continued. "Everybody that knew me at Merlin's knew me as either the dorky muggleborn that didn't know anything about magic, or my sisters' little brother." He shrugged again. "I wanted to be myself, I guess."
Cue laughter... now! That was cheesy, man. Way to go.
Ellie smiled. Yeeeah, the whole castle thing was pretty awesome. "A new start, huh? Must be nice." She wondered what it would be like to go somewhere where no one knew her. How... lonely. O_O
Ellie nodded and listened intently. Many new transfers this year, but his story was one of the most interesting. "Hey, being muggleborn isn't bad." she suggested lightly. He smiled at Ellie's assurance about muggleborns. "Oh, I didn't mean anything bad by it. It's just that I have two sisters that are witches, and so everybody expected me to be perfectly fine with magic and stuff like that." He shrugged. Magic surely didn't come easily to him. Add that to the fact that he didn't like school, and you didn't exactly get the best student wizard.
"Yeah?" He chuckled lightly. Maybe it hadn't been as cheesy as he thought. Or maybe it was, and girl's didn't mind cheesy. Hmm. "I'll admit that it's a bit nerve-wracking, being in another country where you really don't know anyone. But every seems to talk about Hogwarts like it's this great and wonderful thing... I dunno. Brielle cleared her throat, raising her eyes to look around. Everyone seemed so happy and carefree, except perhaps for her and her fellow firsties. She tried to smile at them--a small, awkward smile, and most of them just smiled back. Her throat felt so dry, that it actually seemed so hard to talk. Closing her eyes, she tried to relax herself. There was no point in feeling so nervous. This was going to be her house for the whole year, and it was about time to get used to it all. Besides, she had gotten her wish! She was sorted to Ravenclaw, just like her mother.
Opening her eyes, she breathed in relief... at least her legs weren't shaking anymore.
Ellie nodded, knowing the feeling of being ignored. Ugh. Luckily she had all the friends she needed now. "Yeah, but the first year is always the roughest. "Gladly my best malie friend was a sixth year when i was a first year so i didnt have to go through this time",Fee explained,"but know it from my friends."And from Evan telling them shizzy stuff.Bzt well they were good now.Who cared anyway?!
Love interests? Fee blushed a little when she thought about Hugo. But was he really her love interest? Still her heart was a little broken but then again she had to think about him all the time."Well i guess there is someone yes",she giggled a little,"but i am not sure. What about you?"Oh nooow come on and say you are interested in Alex, if not Ellie lied. You could see it in her eyes that she liked Fee's best friend.
"Mmhhhh drawing him a map",the blonde laughed,"i guess i'll do that."Or ask someone else to because she really sucked at drawings.Ohhh Ellie wanted to trymoit for the team too?!How cool, all good people were tring out this term.Oh yes."I want to try out as a seeker too",the Slytherin said excitedly,"i practised soo much but i am not sure. There are so many good ones."So having fun was on her top too? That would be noooo problem.Hehe.
And then her attention was diverted from Crazy Boy!Leo by Ellie congratulating...her? Captain? Say what now?
Ellie and Jacob were suddenly beside her and Ellie was handing her a...badge? "Um...what?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. Wasn't this Jacob's badge? Why was Ellie giving it to her? Was Ellie this proud of Jacob becoming Captain that she wanted to make sure Vashti saw it? So...why was Ellie smiling at her when she said her congratulations? "Yeah, it's a very nice badge..." She tried to hand it back to Jacob.

And then he walked away. "Well, aren't you going to give it to her? I'm sure she'd be pleased to know." Ellie walked over to Jacob and picked the badge back up, along with Jacob's arm. He'll need to apologize.
She'd spotted Vashti and went straight for her. "Congratulations captain!" Ellie beamed as she handed Vashti the badge.
Jacob was being pulled all over the place and pushed stuff and taken stuff away... it was hurting his brain.
He pulled out of Ellies grasp, and plopped down right on the floor crossing his legs and his arms. "Alright!" he yelled at the two. "I'm not getting up, or taking anything until this is settled!" he looked between the girls and then at the badge. "I don't care if that thing is mine or not! Just, someone please explain to me What Happened and Why"
Alice looked at someone who seemed like another first year, she was smiling awkwardly at everyone and Alice caught her eye and smiled back, only hers was reassuring almost seeming to say 'don't worry'.
Ellie grinned at him. "I know! You'll love Hogwarts, for sure." she said. "And don't be nervous about getting sorted. I mean, although I'd love for you to get sorted here, you'll love wherever you go." she said with a warm smile.
She then remembered the first day she met Draven. She had tripped and dumped her books everywhere (embarrassing, huh?) and he was nice enough to help her. She always remembered that. Draven was a really nice guy.
Ellie smiled when he brought up Alex. "Yeah we hung out a bit during the summer. Actually I was just talking to him a minute ago." She said smiling. "Are you two friends at all?" she asked curiously.
Draven started to feel more at ease when Ellie said it would be alright. Even though Tay had told him the same thing for whatever reason it was this constant nightmare for him. But he pushed the thought out of his mind and went with the flow, there was just too much excitement going on at the moment.
"Yea, im sure everything will be fine" he said to her.
She began to tell him that she and Alex had hung out a bit over the summer and wondered if he and Alex were friends.
"Uh, well, yea i think so" he said laughing.
"I mean, he's kind of a interesting bloke. But then again maybe he just felt weird around me because he used to date Taylor. He seems like a nice fellow though and it sounds like you two like each other" he said nudging her with a wicked smile slightly teasing her.
He then added,
"Then again he is american so maybe that has something to do with it? He's the first person ive met from there so maybe its that whole culture thing?" he pondered.
"Either way, he better treat you right if you guys start dating" he said trying to be a protective and macho even though Alex was older and bigger than him.
Alice looked at someone who seemed like another first year, she was smiling awkwardly at everyone and Alice caught her eye and smiled back, only hers was reassuring almost seeming to say 'don't worry'.
Brielle noticed another first year smile at her more comfortingly than the rest. She moved closer to her, because she seemed like someone she could get along with. And besides, she needed to meet people from her own house, too. "Hi there," she called to the girl. "Great to be in Ravenclaw, huh?"

I dunno. Maybe I'll feel at home here, and it won't be so..." He wasn't going to say scary... "Weird, after a while."
After a pause, he shook his head to clear his thoughts. "Anyway, how about you? What's your story?" He hoped this wasn't too forward... but he felt funny talking about himself like that, and not asking about the other person.
Ellie blinked. "Oh I know what you meant, I wasn't try to nag on you or anything." She smiled at him. Sure, make the new kid feel like a loser."Two sisters? I bet that's fun." She very briefly wondered if they were older and made him play dress up and have fancy tea parties with them. She laughed to herself and decided not to ask him.
She nodded. She could imagine it being scary being in a whole new country. "Well, I'm sure you'll fit in just fine. Everyone at Hogwarts is extremely nice and friendly. Except the Slytherins." She dramatically glared at the Slytherin table. Oh, here she was messing with him again. Oh stop. "Anyways, it looks like you've already made your first friend." She said taking a small bow and smiling.
She looked up. "My story? Well... I grew up in Ireland my whole life. My mum is a muggle. My dad was a wizard. Ever since..." she paused. "Ever since a few years ago, I've been staying at the Leaky Cauldron in Diagon Alley during most of the summer. My mum and I don't really see eye to eye." She shrugged. "I have an older brother who works in Scotland. We'll just say he's the preffered child." She said a little too bitterly. Woah, back off Ellie. Don't want to scare the guy away. Though her brother was a little suck up... She shook her head and put a smile back on. "Not much to it, I guess." She said lightly.
Brielle noticed another first year smile at her more comfortingly than the rest. She moved closer to her, because she seemed like someone she could get along with. And besides, she needed to meet people from her own house, too. "Hi there," she called to the girl. "Great to be in Ravenclaw, huh?"
Alice laughed, "Yes it is indeed, but It would have been great to be in any house. My parents are Hogwarts alumni, my father was a Slytherin and mother was a Hufflepuff." She said smiling. "I understand it may be a touchy subject among some people here, but I am quite curious, you see, so I will just ask it anyway: What about your parents." she asked hesitently.
