| | Ravenclaw Common Room The Ravenclaw common room is a wide, circular room at the top of the seventh floor. Graceful arched windows punctuate the walls, which are hung with blue-and-bronze silks. During the day, Ravenclaws have a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains. Overhead, the ceiling is domed and painted with stars, which are echoed in the midnight-blue carpet. There are tables, chairs, and bookcases, and in a niche opposite the door stands a tall statue of white marble: Rowena Ravenclaw. A delicate-looking circlet has been reproduced in marble on her head with the tiny words 'Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure' etched into the diadem. The statue stands beside a door that leads up to the dormitories above. Come in, have a seat and make new friends. Welcome to Ravenclaw! |

Ellie stumbled into the common room and made her way to her spot on the floor next to the giant fireplace. On her way, she tripped over a chair or two, but she didn't really care. She just wanted to sit down. Or lay down.
Her legs gave out and Ellie plopped on the ground by the fireplace. She layed down and stretched out on the floor. Yeah, she took up the whole space in front of the fire. Because it was cozy. And she was gonna do whatever she wanted to.

Catch...and spin. Yeah. Finn kind of got it now, but he still really didn't want her to jump because he kind of thought that he would drop her. Couldn't they like do something else instead? Something less dangerous?
Neptune's arms lowered a few degrees, as did her faith in Finny. The idea of him dropping her hadn't crossed her mind, but now that he mentioned it...
"But..." .... but what she was going to say couldn't and shouldn't be said, so she stopped.
"You can do it," was what he got instead. "I trust you." Mostly. Neptune lifted her arms back up, chin up, too, then LEEEANNNNEEDDD out over the couch and towards Finny's hands. Maybe jumping was too much for starters with Finn. But leaning.... then he could LIFT. Right. |

And she was gonna do whatever she wanted to. Amadeus nearly tripped into the common room, delirious from the natural high of just winning the day's quidditch match. It was quite a surprise that no party was being held to celebrate such a close game, but then again, it was not hard to imagine why such festivities were being held off: the final match would be the biggest test that the Ravenclaw team had yet to face. If they beat the amazing Hufflepuff players, then that would be grounds for a party to be held until the wee hours of the morning. He was so happily exhausted that he wasn't acting himself and definitely not paying attention to where the soles of his leather shoes were falling.
Deciding he would head off to the boys' dormitories, he made his way toward the staircase before feeling something that didn't feel like carpet under his right foot. Stepping back, the blonde noticed that he had stepped on the fingers of a girl who had been lounging near the fireplace. Normally, Amadeus would have blamed the young brunette for placing herself such an idiotic position in the first place. However, because today was going extraordinarily well, Amadeus grimaced and offered his apologies. "Oh, I'm terribly sorry!" He appeared concerned, hoping he hadn't broken her fingers. "Are you alright?" In the back of his mind, he dearly hoped that he hadn't caused another injury to a student, again; only this time, off of the quidditch pitch.

| HOLISTIC ACTRESS {X O} EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED Kyle cringed as she saw Amadeus step on Ellie's fingers. Poor fingers, she thought cringing.
She sighed, grabbing a healing potion out of her bag.
"Here in case anything well, broke," she handed it to Amadeus it was made from the exact ingredient she'd been off finding when she'd met him.

Drifting off into her own thoughts, Ellie soaked up the heat of the fire. For being spring, it was still a little cold out. But that gave her an excuse to do this. Lay in front of the fire and steal all the warmth. She was completely and utterly exhausted and she thought about going upstairs to turn in. But she didn't feel like moving. Besides, she'd fallen asleep in front of the fire many times before, why not one more? So wrapped up in her conscious, she didn't hear the footsteps of an older boy walking across the floor... "Guaaahh!" She wailed and her eyes shot open as she flung into a sitting position. HOLY sweet mother of Merlin, her fingers! Her fingers were broken! Ellie instinctively grabbed her fingers with her other hand which, of course, made them hurt even more. "Deeear. GOD." She muttered under her breath, holding her hand out in front of her. That's when she noticed a tall blonde boy standing over her. Was she alright? Was she alright?! "Oh, I'm just peachy, thank you!" She said loudly. She sounded a little bitter too.
Ellie sighed. Calm down. It was an accident. She shook her head and composed herself. "Sorry. I'm fine. I'm just... too afraid to bend my fingers at the moment." Who knows what might happen? All her bones and muscles in her cute little fingers could explode or something...!

Amadeus bent down on one knee, taking a look. It was a bit awkward, not being acquainted with this girl, but he would try his best to help. Would she need to see Healer Moretti?! He sincerely hoped not. It gave him great relief when, out of the blue, a bottle of healing potion was thrust toward him. Quickly grabbing it from a blonde that looked oddly familiar and nodding his thanks, he shook it up and undid the cork before handing it to blue-eyed girl before him. "I can't apologize enough," He murmured, rather embarrassed and a bit frightened at what had just occurred, "But here. It wouldn't do any harm to take a healing potion, would it? Even if they aren't broken," He quickly glanced at her fingers, which lay limply, "I don't believe it would do any harm to drink this."
Biting his lip rather worriedly, his former exuberance now replaced by stress once more, Amadeus hoped that she would at least take a sip. It was a rather strange situation. Since when had Deus been clumsy, unintentionally harming innocent folk around him? Something must be wrong.

Since when had Deus been clumsy, unintentionally harming innocent folk around him? Something must be wrong. She could feel her fingers were pulsing. Was that a good thing? Well it was a good thing that there was blood running through them, yes, but should she be able to feel every pulse go through her veins?! Ellie was pleasantly surprised when the older boy knelt down next to her. He looked sincerely worried and nervous about the outcome of Ellie's fingers. Most boys his age would just say a lame apology and walk away. At least he was being nice about it. "It's okay really. It was an accident." And, woah. Hello Potion Queen Kyle, where did you come from? Did she always have random potions stored in her bag? Ellie gladly accepted the vial of whatever it was from the blonde. "Bottoms up." She muttered and drank it in one swig.
Suddenly, tingles ran from her tongue to her fingertips and her toes. Ellie shuddered as it slid down her throat; it wasn't the best taste. She lifted her hand again and cautiously wiggled her fingers. No pain! AH, she could cry! She sighed with a grin on her face. "It worked! My fingers are fine..." Ellie beamed and looked at the boy next to her, twirling her hand and fingers around. Just in case he didn't believe her.

| HOLISTIC ACTRESS {X O} EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED Kyle indeed did seem to have a store of healing potions on her at all times - only because she seemed to always need them or cause people to need them. Wherever she was, she was bound to hurt someone - mainly herself.
"Glad it worked," she smiled, "and well you two have fun I'm off to bed." She still beaming. And skipping off to bed, her bag making a rather loud clinking sound of bottles when she walked up the stairs - yes it was filled with potions only because she'd made a large vat of it that day.

Amadeus was relieved to see that she had actually taken the potion, not thinking it was a vial of something, well, vile instead of something useful. The few seconds that passed between her actually taking the potion and exclaiming that she felt fine were near agony for him. Would people think he was a sadistic prick, going around and "unintentionally" hurting young girls? Would people think that he was a clumsy fool? Either option was frightening to the vain, blue-eyed seventh year. It was when she twirled her fingers about lithely that Amadeus gave a soft sigh of relief, smiling ever so slightly. "Thank Merlin," He murmured, seemingly to himself, as alleviation from his worries washed over him.
"I can't apologize enough," Deus repeated, still rather embarrassed. Suddenly, it struck him. He had forgotten his manners! It would do no good to constantly apologize to a stranger if they remained unnamed to one another. "I seem to have utterly forgotten my manners today. I'm Amadeus." Sure, it was a rather awkward manner of introducing himself to someone, but it was a good gesture either way. Reverting from his kneeling position, he stood and reached out a hand to help her up.

A couple broken fingers and the world was coming to an end. However, that was not the case because Ellie's fingers were fine and all was happy and well. And the blue eyed boy no longer looked like he was going to keel over and die. Ellie was glad to have her fingers in pristine condition. That was her paintbrush hand. "Well I certainly can't thank you enough. For being nice about the whole thing and not just leaving me. Most people would just offer a lame apology and send me to the nurse." Ellie shrugged. Oh, and a thanks to Kyle Manning who randomly and convienently had a bag of healing potions with her. That still puzzled her... She flashed a smile when he offered his hand. With his help, Ellie stood up and swiftly landed on her feet. "Hello, Amadeus. An odd circurmstance to meet you, but a pleasure nontheless." She said with a slight chuckle, brushing off her blouse. "I'm Ellie, a fourth year." She introduced to the older boy with a smile. She looked up at him and noticed how tall and slim he was. He was actually quite attractive now that she wasn't blaming him for crushing her fingers.

Innately, it wasn't surprising. Hogwarts was full of ignorami who wouldn't be able to differentiate a vat of toadstools from a cauldron filled with dittany. Well, not many people could, but Deus had the capacity to know such trivial things. "That wouldn't have been the gentlemanly thing to do," He continued, the corners of his lips turning upward to reveal a small smile to the younger student.
As the girl hopped to her feet, the blonde noticed that she wasn't as small as she had seemed. Well, she had been sitting on the ground, a few feet below his six foot stature, right? "The pleasure is mine." He nodded, his grin broadening. So, Ellie: The Fourth Year with Fingers of Steel, it was. "A fourth year, really? I would have guessed fifth, maybe even sixth." She had mature features and definitely didn't seem to be as immature as most of the kids who populated Hogwarts. From her blue eyes, which almost mirrored his, to her long, slender figure and immortal fingers, something seemed intelligent and mature about her. She obviously hadn't been placed in Ravenclaw for nothing. "I'm a seventh year," He offered up, gesturing over to the couch in front of the fireplace, in case she desired to sit and chat instead of standing near the stairway to the dorms.

"I'm a seventh year," He offered up, gesturing over to the couch in front of the fireplace, in case she desired to sit and chat instead of standing near the stairway to the dorms. Ellie shrugged. She'd run into quite a few people that weren't the nicest at Hogwarts. Some kids were just rude; they didn't care who they pushed in the halls or whose fingers they stepped on. And it always seemed odd to her that it seemed like the Slytherin kids were the nicest. Ellie's best friends were in Slytherin, and she had met some pretty mean Gryffindors. "Yeah... Well chivalry isn't really alive and kicking anymore." Ellie told him with a light laugh.
Amadeus' comment made her raise her eyebrows. A fifth or sixth year? Heh, in your dreams, pretty boy. She definitely didn't feel that old. Maybe the past two years had really changed her. Ellie had learned to live on her own for weeks at a time when she couldn't stand to be around her mother. She sort of supported herself most of the time when she wasn't at home. Ellie bought her own clothes, food and school supplies. Maybe she had matured...? Her lips curved up into a smile. "Really, I look that old?" She asked with a chuckle. Even though it was only two years. Ah, a seventh year. Ellie assumed he was an older student. His tall stature high maturity level gave it away. That's when she realized: "Hey, you're a beater, aren't you?" She blurted out. Ellie was pretty sure it was him, but she hadn't really paid much attention to her own House's team this year. Plus, it was hard to tell who was who when all you could see was blue blurs flying across the sky.
Ellie followed his lead to a couch by the fire and sat down. She put her back to the overstuffed arm rest and tucked her knees into her chest. "Wow, you're gettin' old." She teased. "Do you have any idea what you're doing after you graduate?" Ellie wondered. Sheesh, term was almost over. It was hard to believe how fast it flew by. Ellie had no idea what she wanted to do after Hogwarts. Everyone usually ended up working in the Ministry, but that just seemed like the obvious answer. She wanted something more; something exciting!

Ellie had no idea what she wanted to do after Hogwarts. Everyone usually ended up working in the Ministry, but that just seemed like the obvious answer. She wanted something more; something exciting! He nodded at her mention of chivalry being dead, shrugging slightly. Amadeus was one of the few men who attempted to keep it alive but as hard as he tried, the hooligans of Hogwarts were degrading the old, proper ways and manners minute by minute. His never-ending disdain for contemporary foolishness was lifted by her mention of her age. "Oh, of course not!" The blonde chuckled, lifting his hands in a mock surrender. Adding onto his rather lame answer, Deus began, "Anyone can look any age, as long as they know how to go about it." Should he bring up that he dressed, and succeeded, as a middle-aged Don, with a mustache and all, for the Prefect High Tea? Maybe not at this moment, but possibly later.
As soon as the mention of quidditch, and he, specifically wormed its way into their talk, the swelling of his ego was palpable. Ellie had not realized what a can of worms she had opened, especially after such an epic win that the team had just accomplished against Slytherin. His name being on the leader board, number one for most bludger hits and number two for most blocked goals, had augmented his pride to even more massive proportions. Although he had been made to be a keeper in the last match...
"Yes," Amadeus nodded, his smile seeming to never want to vacate his face, "At least, I was until our seeker was injured. Ever since the middle of our last game against Hufflepuff, the captain has made me the keeper." He shrugged nonchalantly, getting comfortable on the couch as he turned toward Ellie, crossing his right ankle onto his opposite knee. Deus resisted rolling his eyes at her mention of his age; she almost sounded like Braeden. Rather than having to defend his seniority to the fourth year, he moved onto the next subject: "Well, I plan to take over the family business. My father's family have been involved in wandmaking for years, so I'll eventually work my way to the top." He shrugged once more, although not as enthusiastically. "But what about you? I know you're far from leaving the school, but do you have any idea about what you want to do?" Most people went to the Ministry, which sounded like such a bore to the seventh year.

Namitha gave her a friendly smile and said 'Hey Kyle...how do you do?'..

Originally Posted by princess of*hp* He nodded at her mention of chivalry being dead, shrugging slightly.
Ellie giggled when Amadeus raised his hands in surrender. "I'm only kidding, I don't mind looking older; it's not always bad." It wasn't the first time someone had mistaken Ellie for an older student. Plus, Amadeus looked much older than a 7th year as well. Which wasn't a bad thing at all.
As soon as Ellie mentioned Quidditch, she could see how much it meant to him and how much he loved it. He was practically glowing next to her which made her smile. He was grinning with glee. "Is being keeper not as fun as beater? It sounds much less dangerous." Ellie said with a light laugh. She'd always loved a casual Quidditch game with her friends, but she didn't want to join the team. Everyone was way too brutal and viscious. Plus, people got hurt in every game... And Ellie was a wuss. She rested her chin on her hands while listening to him talk about his future. She raised her eyebrows. "Wandmaking, really? Does your family have their own shop or do they sell to Ollivanders...?" She wondered, leaving the question open for him to answer. Ellie loved her wand and how unique it was. She didn't know anyone with the same core as hers. Her father had given it to her and that meant a lot. Ellie raised a skeptical eyebrow. "You don't sound very thrilled about keeping in the family business." She observed.
What about her? Sheesh, she still had three years to go. Plus, she had no idea what she was going to do. "All I know is that I'm not working in the Ministry of Magic." She stated. Nooo way, jose was she working there. "Not that I'm "anti-government", or whatever," She used her fingers as air-quotes. "I just think it would be utterly boring. Every witch and wizard works for the Ministry. I want to be different." Ellie told him with a shrug. It just wasn't her thing. Ellie wanted to do new and exciting things, not work in a hidden building everyday. If she could get paid to travel, she would just skip around from country to country, culture to culture. Idealistic much more than reality, but who cared?

Idealistic much more than reality, but who cared? Amadeus was slightly relieved to hear that she hadn't taken his comment about her aesthetics to heart. He hadn't figured that she would, but one could never be sure, especially with Hogwarts girls.
"Keeping the goal hoops protected isn't bad, and it can be quite exhilarating when you make good saves," He began, with a shrug and a small, half-grin, "But I enjoy being a beater better. I like flying around the pitch, rather than just being confined to one area." His smile grew larger as the feeling of flying was tangible, at least to him. That was one of the few times he could let himself go from his numerous worries and stresses. Some of the most fun Amadeus had ever enjoyed had been on the quidditch pitch, especially when his friends and boyfriend were cheering him on. Amadeus's smile morphed into a smirk as he added, "Being able to take a whack at people can also be quite meditative." What could he say? He was a typical, aggressive, testosterone-fueled boy.
The blue-eyed boy sobered up as she brought up his career path, which was a bit nerve-wracking, if truth be told. However, he would never admit his fears about the future, especially to a recent acquaintance. "It's an international coorperation," He spoke nonchalantly, in a rather bored tone as he shrugged, smoothing out a wrinkle on his trouser leg. "We procure and manufacture the wands and sell them to Ollivander, Gregorovitch, and others." What he spoke of was far from day-to-day life for most wizards, but the ease in his voice suggested that it was. It was simply the manner in which he had been raised. "I'm simply lucky to have a secure job for me. I know far too many people that have no idea of what's going to happen to them after school." He had avoided the question, but only narrowly. To be honest, he wasn't sure himself if wand-making was right for him. He had been told since he had been a young child that he would grow to make his parents proud, to carry on tradition. It wasn't something that he felt too comfortable talking or even thinking about : whether his desires coincided with those that his family deemed to be proper and respectable. Amadeus had to hold back from sighing in relief as she spoke of her own ideas.
"Being different..." He chuckled, "Don't we all desire that." A moment of silence passed before Deus spoke up again, prompting another answer from the fourth year. "Well, what are your interests? Is there any hobby of yours that could earn you a decent living?"

Right. Neptune trusted him? That did kind of make Finaly feel a little better, and he didn't know really that he wasn't going to drop her. He was big strong quidditch player. He was definetly not going to drop her. "I know I can." He smirked, but then quickly decided to concentrate when Neptune leant forward.
Finlay was glad that she hadn't jumped becaue at least he was able to actually lift her up, and she wasn't that heavy so it was quite easy. He did just hope that they looked pretty cool. They were totally epic either way. "You okay Tune?"

"Being different..." He chuckled, "Don't we all desire that." A moment of silence passed before Deus spoke up again, prompting another answer from the fourth year. "Well, what are your interests? Is there any hobby of yours that could earn you a decent living?" Watching Amadeus talk about quidditch was like watching a kid get his favorite toy on Christmas morning. His eyes practically sparkled. If Ellie had to play quidditch, she would choose to be keeper over anything else. Less chance of breaking a nose or loosing some teeth. She wasn't really into the whole pain thing. "Plus, playing good defense makes you look like a hero when you block shots." Ellie added about being a keeper. Ellie snorted when he mentioned loving beating people up. Well, those weren't his exact words, but that's how Ellie's brain translated it. "Some how meditative and 'a good whack' don't mesh well in my brain." She said with a laugh. "I don't know maybe I'm just a softie." [s]Pff, softie? She got in a fight!"[/b] But, of course, she didn't tell Deus that. No need to make such a first impression.
He sounded bored when he was talking about his future job. He didn't neccessarily sound excited about it, but she didn't press it any further. It must have been nice to know for sure what you were going to do in the future, because once you graduated... BOOM! You needed a job. Amadeus was lucky indeed. But he didn't seem to keen to talking about his future job, so all she said was, "You are lucky. Because I'm one of those people who has no idea what the future is going to be like for me." She said with a laugh, lightening the tense mood.
Ellie sighed heavily and leaned back into the couch. What where her interests and hobbies? She pondered for a moment. "Playing the piano is my passion. Along with painting. I could paint and play the piano for the rest of my life and be perfectly happy." Ellie told him, her blue eyes sparkling. She sighed again, and her smile faded. "The problem is... it's hard to make a living by just painting petty pictures and writing songs." Ellie twiddled with the snake ring on her middle finger. "Not to mention my desire to travel the world for inspiration..." She would have to marry Mr. Moneybags to support her in all she wanted to do. She laughed a little and looked up at him. "That all sounds so corny, doesn't it? Ellie, traveling the world to paint and play the piano... I don't know, that's just me." She told him with a shrug. It was truth, that was Ellie. She was someone that always liked doing something, going from place to place. She always tapped her foot or her pen; she couldn't sit still.

She was someone that always liked doing something, going from place to place. She always tapped her foot or her pen; she couldn't sit still. The Ravenclaw held back a snicker at Ellie's mention of heroism in quidditch. She was, for the most part, correct. But truly, the seeker was nearly always the hero of the game. It pained him to think about what had happened to their seeker, Jimmy Wilkes, during the Hufflepuff game and how he was still recovering. Even so, Ellie had done spectacularly as his replacement during the last game, having pushed away her insecurities and gone for the gold. "Quidditch is quidditch," Deus said simply and matter-of-factly, "Everyone's opinions about it, from certain regulations to teams to the sport in general, differ. I'm sure you could probably be a chaser, if you wanted, or a seeker; no whacking required." Amadeus laughed momentarily before his train of thought pulled him away. It brought to mind the reminder that the Hufflepuffs were the most driven quidditch fanatics in the school; this made his stomach churn. Practices for the final match would be quite interesting.
Taking a hand to sweep back a hair that had fallen in his face, the seventh year listened to her rattle off her hobbies, nodding every now and then. "Those are all good things," He spoke nonchalantly, "But like you said, it's hard to be successful in those areas. I suppose the only thing to do is to really want it and take opportunity as it comes. Maybe you could start by playing small shows in Hogsmeade? I don't think too many of the pub owners would mind you playing music there." Amadeus imagined the image of Ellie sitting in a small bar, playing the piano and being her musical self while people simultaneously chatted, listened, and drank. It wasn't hard to imagine her as a artist struggling for their passion. "As for drawing, I'm not sure what you could do. Making illustrations for companies is the only thing that comes to mind." He shrugged, knowing that it wasn't the best suggestion.

They TOTALLY looked epic. "Now SPIN!" she squeaked, making sure to keep her tummy tight and body in position.
This was exactly how one got rid of restlessness: a good friend, dangerous acrobatics in a confined space, and spinning. |

This was exactly how one got rid of restlessness: a good friend, dangerous acrobatics in a confined space, and spinning. Actually this wasn't as bad as Finn thought that it was going to be. He was having fun, and as long sa he didn't drop her then he was pretty sure that Neptune was going to be having lots of fun too. Waaiit. He needed to spin her? Whaat. Now he was sure that he was sure to get a little dizzy now, and then he might drop her.
"Err.....okay." What the bother. Neptune trusted him, and so He was sure that they would be fine. He quickly glanced around, before spinning around a little, trying to be careful.

He shrugged, knowing that it wasn't the best suggestion. Noddin, Ellie tried imagining herself playing Quidditch, zooming around on a broom, holding the Quaffle in her arm... But still, bludgers got hit towards the chasers and the opposing chasers would still always try to knock her off her broom. "I actually almost tried out for the team this year, believe it or not. But then..." She looked away. She shouldn't have brought this up, but it slipped out of her mind. Plus, she doubted Amadeus would want to hear the story anyway. "Er... stuff. Something got in the way." Ellie said, waving her hand dismissively. Yeah, close one there. "Well the championship's coming up. Are you ready?" Ellie asked with a smile, leading the conversation away from her slip-up. Ellie was excited for the game coming up. She knew the Hufflepuff's were savage when it came to Quidditch and Ravenclaw was extremely competitive. They had better win.
Ellie listened to his suggestions and nodded as he spoke. He actually had a good idea, about playing gigs at Hogsmeade. Maybe even the Leaky Cauldron? "Not a bad idea, actually. And that would be fun too." Ellie could just see herself sitting behind a piano playing her music for people as they ate and laughed with their friends. She laughed quietly when he shrugged about the drawing and painting part. "Yeah, no one can really make a living of just painting pictures all the time." She shrugged. Plus, it seemed like famous artists only actually became famous a hundred years after they died. If Van Gogh was alive, he'd be a billionaire. Ellie shrugged and tucked a loose lock of hair behind her ear. "But oh well, I'll find something. I've got three years to think about it or change my mind. We'll see what happens." |

Ellie shrugged and tucked a loose lock of hair behind her ear. "But oh well, I'll find something. I've got three years to think about it or change my mind. We'll see what happens." The strain in the fourth year's voice was audible. Something detrimental had obviously gotten in the way of her attending try outs for the Ravenclaw team, but he was not one to push for answers. She hadn't done the same with Amadeus, so he would return the favor. The move from her own problems to the upcoming game wiped his mind clear of anything else but the stresses of quidditch. "As ready as I'll ever be," Avoiding her gaze, Amadeus's blue eyes stared intently at the burning embers in the fireplace, watching them slowly sizzle into ash and nothingness. "It's the first time we've gone to the finals in years. I just don't want to let anyone down, especially since I won't have another chance at it." Noticing that he was beginning to chew on his lower lip, Deus forced himself to stop. That wasn't appropriate behavior. It had simply been a subconscious response to the thought that after Hogwarts, there would be no more quidditch. Simply accounts, finances, types of bark and cores, negotiations, and the like.
It pleased him that she agreed with his ideas. Too many people at Hogwarts had their heads filled with fanciful dreams of becoming the next Celestina Warbeck. But of course, that chance was slim to none. Ellie had the right idea and seemed to be the perfect combination of a lovely aesthetic and mental capacity; or rather, beauty and brains. "Good luck with whatever you choose to do," He met her gaze, a rather morose expression on his face, "It's tough out in the real wizarding world, outside of classes and schooling in general." A quick moment of silence passed before a small smile crept onto his lips. "Promise me that I won't see you at the Ministry in ten years or so when I go to take care of official business?" The silliness of his proposal was ridiculously stupid, but it hadn't stopped him from uttering the inquiry. Picturing her in professional clothes was hard enough without imagining her in the type of stuffy office work that she disliked.

A look of relief briefly flashed across Ellie's face when Amadeus didn't press the matter of the "stuff" that got in the way of quidditch tryouts. She was having a good day and didn't want to ruin it that night. Looking back up at him, she noticed him staring at the fire as he spoke about the final quidditch game against Hufflepuff. Something about his tone told her that he was sort of emotional about it. It was the championship game so he, and everyone else, should be excited about it. But also, it was the last game of the year, and Amadeus' last game at Hogwarts. "Bittersweet?" Ellie commented. But still, as he chewed his lip, Ellie could tell there was something else bothering him. Although she didn't know if it was the tensity of the championship coming up or something, she still reached over and lightly poked him in the shoulder. "It'll be alright. You guys are going to kick butt, I know it." She said with a wink, trying to put a smile on his face. Ravenclaw had made it this far, they were definitely going to win.
Ellie smiled when he wished her luck with his future. "Thanks, Amadeus... And same to you, carrying on the family business." She told him with a smile. Ellie wasn't sure whether he wanted to work in the family business or not, but deserved luck too, right? "It really is tough out there... And it's a huge difference from what we experience at Hogwarts. Adults are scary." Ellie snorted. They were all so high-intensity, working all the time. Ellie raised an eyebrow when she saw a smile crawl onto his face. She laughed a little and shook her head. "Don't you worry, you will never, ever see my in the Ministry. Unless by some weird happenstance I have to go to court, I'll never go in there." She told him with a laugh. A business suit was definitely a no go for Ellie.

Shrugging at her comment, he attempted to smile, but it was tough. The nerves were too great for him to be completely excited. Amadeus would grin like a lunatic when they won but for now, he was a bit uneasy. They all were; even those that weren't on the team seemed to be shaking in their boots at the mere sight of a Hufflepuff quidditch player. "I guess you could call it that," He remarked, flicking a speck of dust from where he sat onto the carpet. "But thank you, nonetheless. We appreciate all of the support that we can get." He smiled, wondering what his friends would do in the stands while supporting Ravenclaw. Maybe they would whip up an eagle hat that would squawk at passersby? Who knew?
He seemed to be full of wise words and inspiration today, and so did Ellie. Maybe that was why fate had brought them together for tonight, having that accident happen in order for them to meet and reassure each other about various issues and insecurities. A snicker escaped his lips. "I don't know if scary is the right word," Deus took a hand to scratch the back of his head momentarily, "I suppose they can be intimidating at times. I think the idea of a lifelong career is what worries most people, because everyone is an adult at least once." He smiled at his own comment, finally able to lighten up a bit about his future plans. "And I trust that you won't end up there, if you keep that attitude about pursuing your passion." Amadeus smiled, feeling like a wise sensei to a younger karate kid. It was rare to encounter someone who loved what they did; it was no wonder that she was a Ravenclaw.
Clearing his throat, he brought up another subject. "I'm honestly surprised we haven't met before," Deus commented. With her dark hair and bright blue eyes, combined with her pale skin, she stuck out from the general population of students and staff. "Or even seen each other, not counting quidditch, for that matter. If I didn't know better, I'd say you were a metamorphmagus." He chuckled at his ludicrous words.
