Jim's eyebrow went up. What was with the purple?

"So I heard." He gestured around the room, having had watched her make the rounds, all excited and eager and, in Jimmy's view, entirely too... too... something. He grinned crookedly at her though and leaned forward a bit in his seat, offering his hand.

"James S. Wilkes." Paaause. "Sixth year."

He watched her put the banner up and snorted quietly to himself in amusement. Surely the banner should say, 'too bad on not getting a better house, but you'll probably be okay.'


Jimmy glanced at the little redhead. Ellie, wasn't it? Yeah.

"Well, you know. Keep it to yourself." He winked at her, only half serious. Come on. Everyone had something going on, some reason to mope or whatever.

He definitely did.

But no way was he gonna let Neptune Bott anyone bring him down.


... Ravenclaw was like a rainbow of hair. He looked at Satine and then at Ellie and grinned again.

The thing was, Jimmy being Jimmy, as soon as he noticed that someone was apparently laying claim to a couch, he began speculating.

Jacob walked into the common room, a little out of breath. He had forgotten how much work it was to get up those step. I'm light as a feather, yet the strongest man can't hold me for much more than a few minutes. What am I?

Shaking her head ruefully at the Ravenclaw knocker, Ivory made her way into the common room. She'd missed the daily riddles. Oh it was good to be back. Looking around fondly at the common room, Ivory passed a hand over the Rowena Ravenclaw statue. Yup, good to be back.

Although....there was a part of her that was just short of complaining.

Eying the entranceway a little bit to make sure no one was watching, she engaged in a few much needed stretches. Those stairs were killer, especially after the lazy summer she'd had. Gripping the toes of her shoes, she gave a sigh of relief as the stretch relieved some tension.

Every other year she'd come back from a very active break and those seven flights of stairs hadn't bothered her in the slightest but after being cooped up for the last couple of weeks...well suffice to say her calves had been complaining like no body's business.

Now to sit down, lay back and enjoy the common room in the first available couch space. Spying one almost directly to her right, Ivory let herself fall back.

That is until she caught herself at the last minute since it seemed someone had just launched himself at the couch, taking up the whoole thing.

Stumbling over herself for a second in order to not completely fall on the guy, she couldn't really help the elbow that probably landed right around his stomach area. At least it wasn't her knee right?

Mumbling I'm so sorries she looked wide eyed at the guy sprawled out there. Was it just her or did he look constipated?

Well....Finlay assumed that he should probably make an appearance at the common room. He was prefect and all, probably a good idea. The thing was, he wasn't really in a hurry to get there, so he did only just casually walk in. Maybe he could just wave and then go again. That could work pretty well.
But someone did catch his attention as he actually got into the common room. A nice big banner welcoming people into Ravenclaw. Well that was pretty good, he didn't have to do it...which was always a good idea. "Nice Banner..." He commented outloud, glancing around the common room.

Yeah. That was right. Prefect in the housseee.

Ellie turned and glared at the boy who had spoken. He'd been in some of her classes, she was pretty sure. Called himself 'Jimmy', didn't he. Pffft.

"And I intended to," she said, coldly. She would probably regret this unfriendly interaction later, when she was more herself. But it wasn't like he really cared or anything. "Unless you'd like to hear about it?" But...she didn't want to tell him. Say no, kid, say no.

And she caught him looking at her and the other girl and GRINNING. "What?"

Willow spotted a couch with a guy sitting on it. Noticing the arm rest was empty, she sat down.

Jim tipped his head to one side, surveying this little Ellie girl and finding himself completely amused by her tone. Hehh.

"Sure. Go ahead. Tell me everything." Grin. "Get it out of your system. Take a load off."

Such an innocent smile on Jimmy's face.

"What? Nothin'. You have pretty hair, s'all."

Still innocent.

lilly-anne made her way into the common breathing in a sigh oh it was good to be home she thought talking in the blue and bronze. yeap this was gunna be a good year she could feel it. smiling she walked over to the fireplace spotting a large welcome banner, which she laughed at, on her way before letting herself collapse into one of the comfy blue arm chairs and watching as the embers burt in the fireplace.

Margery stumbled into the common room, a mass bundle of energy dying to finally see where she's going to be staying. She looked around and gasped. she was amazed at what she saw! She was so excited to be here. She looked around to see if she knew anybody, or at least hoping someone would talk to her.

Ellie GLARED at him some more.

NO. Not happening. She'd cry with was TOTALLY unacceptable

Pretty hair? "Well thanks." She could accept a compliment. And now she knew she had 'pretty hair'. To go with her 'cute nose' she supposed.

She sat up straight and rolled her eyes. She supposed she should start acting nicer, right? Maybe. At least get her mind off what was putting her in such a sour mood.

"'m Ellie." Formal introduction.

turning around Lilly-Anne spotted a young girl entre the common room with a look of awre she smiled.
"hey" she said with a smile " 'm Lilly-Anne 'm a fourth year, are you a first year?"

Eino entered the Ravenclaw Common Room slightly disoriented, he did not remember Hogwarts being this large. It must have grown during the summer, he thought, because it made sense. It was either that or he had gotten smaller, but that was silly to believe. Luckily, he ran into a portrait that had been most helpful to him and taught him the way to the common room in exchange to be tickled. Finally back in the common room, he noticed how busy it had gotten since when he first left in the morning to take Faustus to the owlery. Sadly, he could not find any of his friends, and he thought it would be rude to interrupt the others, who all seemed either very much engaged in their work (being typical Ravenclaws), or socializing.

"Yes i am a first year! i am indeed! I'm so excited to be here and meet everyone and see everything! I'm Margery Gellantara by the way" Margery fought her drooping eyes, not wanting to waste this oppurtunity to meet a new person. Knowing she could only stay up a little bit longer, she was bound and determined to make the best out of this conversation.

Hehh. He got a glare.

Shrug. It was just the truth. Jimmy Wilkes, telling it like it is. And he did have a fondness for red hair. As a direct result of the crush he'd had on Cameron last term.

And an eye roll. He marked that up as success. Ellie wasn't the only one looking for distractions after all, and irritating a.... what, she was about third year yeah? Yeah. Irritating a third year was a suitable distraction.

"James S. Wilkes."

And that one kid over there looked a bit lost. Jimmy pretended not to notice, but failed.

Someone needed some sugar or something. Get a little pep in his step. He patted himself down, found what he was looking for in his pocket and then tossed the chocolate frog in the kid's direction.

"Here kid, catch." Think fast and all that.

Ellie gave a weak smile. "It's nice to meet you James."

She wasn't gonna bother being weirded by the full name thing. Naww. She didn't have the energy to. She was just glad to be distracted.

"What would the S be for?"

she smiled a genuine smile at the girls excited outburst.
"nice to meet you Margery, how do you like Hogwarts so far is it every you thought it would be?" she asked the young girl

Right in the face was where the chocolate frog hit Eino. Yes, he saw the frog coming, but he hoped really hard that it wouldn't hit him in the face and thought it would work, but obviously it didn't. He was okay, but the frog wasn't. Eino picked it up and walked towards the boy who had thrown it. "I am afraid your pet frog has been dismembered." He said as he presented the frog's body in one hand and its head and one leg with the other. "Perhaps you should take it to the nurse." Eino suggested as the frog still tried to move about in his own hand and its leg twitched on the other. "You oughtn't throw your pets, you know."

"I know." He assured her, not expecting otherwise. Yeahh thats right. Ego.

Stroke it.

"Sacheverell." He admitted, chuckling quietly to himself. It could be worse right? Probably. He could have a girl's name or something. "You can call me Jimmy or Jim if you like. Up to you." He had people calling him a whole bunch of varieties of his name after all.

"Really though, why so glum? I mean, I'll stop askin' if you really want and... I don't mind distracting you a bit."

You know with things like hitting that unfortunate kid in the face with chocolate.

Facepalm.

"Nice catch. With your face. And all." Jimmy shook his head, but there was a casually friendly smile on his face. Playin' it cool, was Jim.

"Its..." Merlin. "Merlin, are you another one the hat missorted? Tough luck mate, it got me too." Head shake. "Its chocolate. You eat it. Trust me, I'm not the type to have a frog for a pet."

No. No he was the type who had a monkey for a pet. Legit.

Ellie couldn't help but smirk at that. That...that was clever, she'd admit.

Sacheverell. Right. Never gonna remember that. She nodded slowly. It was...interesting. Maybe one of those names that had an interesting backstory, no? As for his first name, "Sorry, too late for that. I go by what I'm introduced with." Hence why she only ever introduced herself as 'Ellie'. She wouldn't be able to stand being called 'Eliana' all the time.

So James it was. Until and unless she came up with something creative of her own. But she only gave nicknames to people she liked.

SIGH. "Reyn was replaced by some snobby old hag." Of course, Ellie didn't think she was old OR a hag, but it made her feel much better to say she was. "Nia graduated, JD left, and that kid," she jerked her head to Jacob on the couch, "was apparently made Captain." SNORT.

And here she was, friendless with a lunatic armed with a beater's bat to lead her in the one thing that was her only escape from the world.

"Good." The distracting bit. "Cuz I really don't mind being distracted right now."

Yes, she'd seen his toss and the other kid's fail catch. "Slick."

Luna raced into the Common Room. She was supposed to meet her friend Lily-Anne but she had lost track of time while reading in the library, another one of her random nerdy ways. "Hi Lily-Anne sorry I'm late," she smiled at the other young girl. "Hi, I'm Luna Star," she introduced herself politely. "How are you both?" she asked.

Lily-anne turned to the familiar voice, LUNA. she turned around and gave her a hug.
"Hey" she said with a smile. "i'm great better than last year, how was your summer?" she asked with a happy smile.

"Thank you." Eino said genuinely flattered by the boy's compliment. "I thought I couldn't do it, but I did." This was true, although Eino still wished the frog hadn't hit him on the face, but this boy, as strange as he was, seemed to think it was a "nice catch." Now he was onto speak of missorted hats, which confirmed Eino's theory about the Sorting Hat's conspiracy. Eino looked at both of his hands and considered eating the frog, but he simply couldn't do it, so he put it back in the box. "Thank you, I will save it for later." Maybe Faustus would like a chocolate frog? "I'm Eino." He introduced himself after putting the chocolate frog box in his pocket.

"It was great!" Luna exclaimed. "What about you?" she asked.

"Fine by me." James shrugged. He was used to all three.

Jim wrinkled his nose and then... "Oh, that professor." Shrug. Who cared? Really. Who cared about ANY professor? Ever? All they were good for was trying to learn you stuff, and Jimmy didn't much want them to think he was capable of any such thing.

He was still in serious denial about being sorted into Ravenclaw the term before.

"Nia. She was awesome." And hot. And awesome.

It was entirely possible Jimmy Wilkes had a thing for girls with POWER. He ignored the JD thing, vaguely recalling the guy from classes or whatever and turned his head back to couch dude. AKA Jacob. AKA Captain.

Epic.

"Why's that a bad thing?" Not that he was judging, just... really, why?

He grinned at Ellie again over the distraction thing. "You and me both, kid." Yeah. She WAS. Compared to him at least.

Wink.

"Always. Its what I do." The slick thing.

He was only mostly kidding.


Hah. He liked this kid. Little Weirdo. Jimmy, still sprawled over his chair with the casual and lazy air that only a teenaged boy could truly accomplish (exhibit B: Jacob), grinned and watched the kid put the frog in his pocket.

"Nice to meet you, Eino. I'm Jimmy." Truth.

she sighed slightly think back her summer it wasnt amazing her and her mum in the house alone with the pets, her grandparents from each side constantly visiting to make sure they were fine. it had been two years did they think we were still troubled.
"it was alright" she said with a small smile "nothing intresting happened, really except harley fell off her broom when we were play quiddich when they came to vist"

Ellie gave James a LOOK. 'That professor' didn't fly with her. No. But he'd only get a LOOK cuz she still needed him to distract her.

Her face brightened with Nia, though. She WAS awesome. That was just her. And they needed to communicate. Ellie HAD to know if she'd gotten on the Harpie's team.

"Oh really? And what are you distracting yourself from?" Since he obviously didn't care about the most epic professor to walk the halls of Hogwarts. Heh....slight exaggeration there.
