The Ravenclaw common room is a wide, circular room at the top of the seventh floor. Graceful arched windows punctuate the walls, which are hung with blue-and-bronze silks. During the day, Ravenclaws have a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains. Overhead, the ceiling is domed and painted with stars, which are echoed in the midnight-blue carpet. There are tables, chairs, and bookcases, and in a niche opposite the door stands a tall statue of white marble: Rowena Ravenclaw. A delicate-looking circlet has been reproduced in marble on her head with the tiny words 'Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure' etched into the diadem. The statue stands beside a door that leads up to the dormitories above.
Come in, have a seat and make new friends. Welcome to Ravenclaw!

Best little brother ever," she elaborated, smiling as she thought about him.
"Do you have any siblings?"

She thought about his comment, "Well disease or trait...hmmm...good question...I think boys looking good is a disease for girls and vice versa for girls looking good...I mean it could make everyone around you just sick." she said laughing as she hoped that made sense...yes it was rambling on but it made sense in her head....right?
She finished putting a charm on each layer and then met his eyes, "Simple...when you pull a block from that layer...BAM!...you get whatever that layer has to throw at you....I just used a charm my mom taught me that just puts a random charm on the pieces...we've never had any bad ones shoot out at us...more like water spitting, and bitting blocks, and jumping blocks and such...Are you picking up what i'm putting down?" she asked to make sure he understood what she was saying.
She glanced at the tower and then at him..."You first or me?" she said with a smile but a little nervous.
Then she realized, "O and you skirted my question earlier...you still owe me three interesting facts about you..." she said with a nod as she stared at the tower mapping out her plan.
"I wouldn't call a pretty girl a disease," Kellen protested. "Frustrating maybe, distracting definitely, but I've never met a girl who left me feeling like I needed to be put in quarantine until my nausea left me." He could certainly think of a girl who he'd like to say made him nauseous, but it was part of his resolution as head boy to be more tolerant.
He listened to her explanation of the new rules, and surmised, "Sort of like exploding snap, then. And you put a whole bunch of different charms on them with one wand-wave?" There was a healthy touch of admiration in his voice, "You'll have to teach me that one. And ladies first."
He didn't really know what she was staring at, but shrugged at her question, "Three interesting things? Okay. I have my apparition license, I finished animagus training in the summer, and I plan on becoming a wandmaker after school." Cut, dried, done. Easy.

Ellie stormed into the Ravenclaw Common Room, tears sliding down her face. Everything was just adding up, one thing after the other, breaking her down one hit at a time. Her mother was angry with her, her brother hated her, she couldn't tryout for the quidditch team, she got kicked out of Charms class on the first day and to top it all off, she had to face Descoteaux with an essay that she really didn't want to write the next evening.
She didn't know what to do. Tears welled up in her eyes so that she couldn't see. She saw a blue blob and took it for a couch. She sat down and buried her face in her hands.

Louisa strolled into the common room looking for Kita or Vashti.. or Enya. She just wanted one of her friends to tell them how good she did on cleaning her shoes which of course was not a silly subject, especially if you know the history of scourgify in Louisa's life.
She looked around sliding her wand underneath her robes and saw a girl, hiding her face, and sitting still. She didn't look like any of her friends but well, the young girl was a curious one. She walked slowly over to her. "Are you all right?" she started hesitantly seeing the girl was a bit older than her and that never came out well before.

"Stop starting at me, it's annoying" Sigh. She turned her head forward and stared into the red and yellow flaming fire. She watched at it made a crackling sound and blew in many different directions.
And just as she leant down to that girl, her ears caught Enya's nervous voice. She turned around and saw that she and Skye where... Oh dear.. having kind of a Not-So-Warm encounter. Louisa couldn't help but being glad to see her friend, Enya, and the nice older girl, Skye, and had an urge of jumping in hugging both... which was totally inconvinient at the moment- you know the deadly stares and all.
"Hi girls!" She said excitedly waving at them both but not approaching the tensed zone. The last time she did so, she almost turned a person into a furry creature. "Great to see you again.." She added with a sarcastic smile upon her face.

"Do you have any siblings?"
JP was slightly confused about the brother statements but either way agreed that it was foolish to even think they had any chance with descoteaux. it was rubbish. they would not have even a thread of a chance. "Yeah, it's pretty dumb if you ask me. But hey, thats what you get when you sign up to teach kids our age. I am sure it is probably amusing to him. He probably expected it too." JP was jealous of siblings. The closest thing he had was his cousin and he lived in the muggle world. "Nah, Just me. Maybe one day?" JP looked over to her. "Must be nice having siblings "

Satine giggled, "Well you do have a good point...and I have to agree with you..well atleast if we change it around to the handsome boy disease...sou touche...you win..." she said with a little mock bow and nod...or atleast the best mock bow you could do with a table in front of you.

"Yes sort of like Exploding Snap just with a little less exploding and snapping going on." she smiled as she heard him a little impressed by her wand work, "Well yes, my mom taught me this when I was really young...my dad is a Muggle and loves his muggle games and mom has always gotten bored with them and she would always sneak this random charm on them all...it made things fun but sometimes made dad a little frustrated when something bite him or spit on him.." she said as she could picture a rather interesting game of Monopoly her family had shared over the break where the dog piece had done just that to her father.
Satine instantly got a nervous smile as she glanced at him with his lady's first comment, "Well what a nice Headboy...I was just fixing to say Headboys first but you beat me to it." she said cocking her head to the side.
She reached forward and tapped a couple of blocks finally finding a loose one on the third row middle...she slowly tapped it through and pulled it out holding it away from her body and the tower...when nothing happened she squished up her face in disappointment...maybe her charms didn't work...she thought as she let her guard down and BAM! the block shot black powder in her face.
She giggled knowing that she was going to look like she had bathed in soot. When the smoke cleared she looked like a raccoon with white/skin circles around her eyes. Everything else was just covered in black powder.
She smiled through black lips, "Thanks for letting me go first..."

"So your family's used to playing all sorts of games together." There may have been a little bit of speculative jealousy in his voice, but Kellen didn't comment on it further. Instead, he resolved to learn this random-charm spell after the game, and play it with his sisters.
At the explosion of black powder onto Satine's face, Kellen burst out laughing. He wasn't really looking forward to what his piece would do, and yet at the same time he was. Preservation of 'disease-handsome-ness' against Ravenclaw curiosity. His eternal downfall.
"You're welcome. Any time." As he reached for a piece a little lower down than the one she'd gone for, he answered her questions as best he could while trying to gain any sort of indication what the pieces did. There wasn't one, "I avoided any splinching, thankfully, but my examiner did have to tell me to get on with it. For some reason, I seem to be fidgety when the possibility of pain is involved."
Like now, for example. He tapped one block with his finger, starting the slow and hesitant process of pulling it out despite it being easy to remove, "I was hoping for a horse the whole time through, but I ended up as a pony. Smart and stubborn is apparently more me than elegant and flighty."
He held the block up, and as soon as the shorter side was facing his face it proceeded to squirt him in the eye with water, rather like a clam. One eye scrunched closed as he placed it on the top of the tower, he said, "I'll probably travel for a few years to get a sense of the wands and wand possibilities that are out there. A wand maker would probably want a potential apprentice to know what was what, and be a little less green around the ears."
Block out of his hand, he grabbed his sleeve and used it to wipe his eye, "I should have pointed that at you... it could help wash your soot off."
Ellie heard a gentle voice ask if she was okay. She looked up, wiping her pink eyes and noticing her mascara rub off on her hands. She was a mess. Was she okay? That seemed like a silly question. Hmm. The girl indeed was a mess, but... who put mascara during school time? o_O Louisa was so not into this girly stuff. "Yeah. You don't seem so okay either. What's wrong? Can I sit here?" She asked indicating the little space from the couch.
Skye continued to watch Enya, her eyes trained calmly on her face. To be honest, she rather enjoyed watching the other girl's discomfort. Finally, when she though Enya'd had enough, she broke her gaze and let it shatter on the floor, forgotten. "Yes," she said coolly. "I forgot how much you hate me."

Enya rolled her eyes at the girl for a second. "Who said anything about my hating you?" She asked, if someone was spreading rumors about her she would be really annoyed. Gah.
"Though your not far off" She added smirking. Just then she heard someone call her from the other side of the common room, she turned to look. Looking at her from the other side of the room was none other then Louisa, her 'bestfriend'. Enya faught back a smile as she raised her eyebrows a little. "Louisa, what are you doing all the way over there?" She asked, wondering why the girl didn't aproach.

Louisa, standing next to the crying girl, didn't think of it as a much good idea to introduce Enya to a girl who apparently seem sensitive -_- You know, the crying and all might happen too soon and she was so not going to put that on her conscious.
However, at Enya's question, she gestured at the girl next to her. "I'm... fine actually here. What are you doing over there?" She asked back. A silly question, right, but she was going to see if it was safe to drag herself into the situation. She started the year safely and well enough and she was determined to keep it up like that.

Enya gave the girl Louisa was with a quick glance, she decided to ignore her. Maybe she could have a little 'chat' with her someother time. She smirked but moved her gaze back to Louisa. Sigh, sometimes she wondered why she was her friend.
"What does it look like im doing?" She asked the younger girl, it was a seriously stupid question the girl asked. Sigh. Enya looked back at Skye a second before moving her eyes yet again back at Louisa. "Bring the girl if you must, but come over here" She added looking at her nails.

Louisa's eyes narrowed when Enya looked over at the crying girl but a sigh came out when she talked again or was it scolding? "Yeah.. right. You're just standing there and talking to Skye.. talking." She repeated the last word with a chuckle. As if Enya knew how to talk to people who had ratted her out previosuly. Just saying.
"Well.." Louisa started and walked few steps closer to her friend. ".. can't you see that she's crying?! Why don't you drag yourself over to us?" She said through her teeth and almost as a whisper. "Besides, don't use that bossy tone with me again." She added louder and returned back to the crying girl. Leaving her alone was the most disgraced thing her mother would scold her for, and she was not about to do it.
Hugo sat down on the couch plucking his ukulele to a song by Queen, hoping he didn't annoy any of his fellow Ravenclaws. He had read enough. Maybe he should go out and meet up with Fee. He put his ukulele away and started thinking.

Luna looked up from her book as she heard someone playing a ukulele. Queen? She loved Freddie Mercury. She walked over to the fellow Ravenclaw boy. "Hi, I'm Luna you're quite good on the ukulele," she complimented.

Katelynn walked exhausted into the common room. This was all very hard! Charms was great, though she chose to sit and listen rather than being involved in the class - but runes had been so hard! She didn't understand a thing, before the teacher explained. But she liked it, though - all these new subjects, and a new home.. It had all been amazing! She hadn't been to the library yet, so she sad down, and opened her Standard Spells Grade 1.

Skye frowned a bit at Enya. "Who said you hated me?" she repeated. "You did. You never said those exact words, but you made it fairly clear." What Skye had found so hard to believe was that after all Enya had done to her last year, she still had presumed that she was automatically Skye's friend...that had never made sense.
Skye looked back as Enya addressed another person. "Hi, Louisa," she said shyly, waving at her. She smiled at her tentatively. Skye didn't have anything against Louisa. Not anymore anyway. "No, stay there; that poor girl seems to need company more than Enya and I do right now." She turned back to Enya.
"Enya, don't be so selfish. I'm sure Louisa will come over here just as soon as she's able to. That other girl who she's with seems to need some comfort at the moment. Just be patient." She scolded gently.
"So your family's used to playing all sorts of games together." There may have been a little bit of speculative jealousy in his voice, but Kellen didn't comment on it further. Instead, he resolved to learn this random-charm spell after the game, and play it with his sisters.
She smiled, "O yes, we love having game and Muggle movie nights when we can. During the breaks, we try to play every night..." she paused "Well there's just the three of us so it's not that hard to get us all together...I'm sure if we had a bigger family it would be more difficult. I don't think my rents play when I'm not around though."

Satine wasn't looking forward to that test for almost the same reason....her and blood and pain were not a good combination. "When you got your license, did you apparate to anywhere amazing? did he say a pony.....yes that was an unexpected answer...."Well a pony might be a better animal to be able to turn into....less menacing in some ways and less noticeable as some huge horses could be...." she said...that was her always trying to find the positive side of everything...."And I've seen ponies that were elegant and flighty.....atleast when they were dreaming they were..." she said with a little giggle.

She smiled as he got squirted in the face but then was a little disappointed looking down at her now black handkerchief....man she had chosen the wrong one...he had gotten off easy....o just wait...
"O I see what you're saying about the wand maker...is there a school you can go to learn more about it or is it just kind of learning the trade from one of them." she was completely clueless about this subject but was interested in learning more.
"That's exactly what I was thinking...I could just use a charm to clean my face off, but I'm afraid I'd knock the tower off in the process...."
Satine reached out and started the usual process of finding a block, finally she found one. She took a deep breath and held it as she grabbed the block and started moving it to the top. She thought about closing her eyes but knew she might miss the top row with the block. As she lifted, the block began getting very slippery and slipped out of her fingers, she reached out with her left hand and caught it only for it to slip out of that hand as well. She began laughing which didn't help the process. She was sure she looked like a Muggle cartoon character dealing with soap. Finally she got a good firm grip on it and slipped it onto the top row where the block became solid again.

Enya rolled her eyes at Louisa, "Can't you see im sitting" She said glaring a little at the younger girl, sometimes that girl lacked observation she thought as she leant back in her seat. "And we're not exactuly talking are we?" She stole a glance at Skye from where she sat. Sigh.
Turning back to look at Louisa and the crying child the bit her lip. God crying children annoyed her. Enya began to smile when Louisa began to walk towards them, leaving the child. Who needed her anyway? But her face fell when she stopped and began giving her a leacture. Boringgg...she thought. "Of course i can see she'd crying, im choosing to ignore it" She told the girl looking at her nails again. But now the girl was telling her off for the way she spoke? "Don't talk to me like that!" She said sternly, they we're suppose to be friends.
But now Skye was talking to her again, shy Skye. She thought and smirked when she noticed it rhymed, a bit. "When did i 'make' myself clear on the subject of me hating you? I don't hate you, i just find you irritaing" She told the girl matter-of-factly. Sigh. Eny leant back in her chair, rolling her eyes and looked at the fire again.
But now Skye was giving her a lecture. Did both girl just want to gang up on her or something, she wasn't bad. Grr. Enya sat back up and glared at the older girl. "I'll have you know im not being selfish" She said first angry. "And i don't like it when you tell me what to do" Be patient? I think not.
Enya turned head to glare at Louisa but her eyes snapped on the crying child. Arghh. Before she knew what she was doing she jumped up and stormed over to her and Louisa. "Will you just be quite?" She said angerly towards the child, she didn't care who's feeling she hurt.

JP was jealous of siblings. The closest thing he had was his cousin and he lived in the muggle world. "Nah, Just me. Maybe one day?" JP looked over to her. "Must be nice having siblings "
Charley chuckled, then started twirling her fingers, staring at her lap, suddenly solemn.
"I suppose that depends on your definition of nice. Since Nathaniel and I don't get along, it can be a pain. Henry's more like a dad than a brother, and Andrew usually just follows Nathaniel's lead. And because they're all boys, Mum makes sure to make me do "girl activities" with her, most of which I hate. I guess if I were an only child that wouldn't be any different. It's good that I had Nathaniel to eavesdrop on, though; I've used a lot of information that he studied before in classes. And I would never want to not have Henry, or Andrew, for that matter. I don't really get on with my mum, it's helpful to have Henry, makes it seem like I have a parent that cares about me as well as my brothers. Mum reprimands me more than anything else, but everything Nathaniel does is perfect, even though he's an idiotic jerk." Unable to think of what to say next, she instead stared at the fireplace.
"Descoteaux probably did expect it. It is a bit amusing, especially when they try to hide it, like when they do well with a charm and he compliments them on it and they blush. I think Belle and I were the only ones in the class that wanted to learn the charm with the goal of learning the charm. I think the other girls wanted to impress him or something." She shook her head, laughing. "It's absolute rubbish, don't you think?"

JP didn't know what to say after this story about her brothers. He felt bad.
"I know they are hard on you but i am sure it is for your own good? They want the best for you even though they don't show it and i am sure that your mom just sees a lot of potential in you since you are the only girl. Things will get better when you are older. " JP smiled at her then looked at his lap. He saw a quill laying on a table near by. He had realized that when he gets nervous or doesn't know waht to do he charms thing to life. I guess it has become a hobby as Fee said. He flicked his wand and the quill floated in the air. I looked as though it was dancing right above him.
He looked over to her now .
"Yeah, i agree. it is complete rubbish! Maybe Descoteaux will call them all out one class to put an end to it once and for all. The last class was fun don't you think? Water balloon fight! It was amazing!"
Selena quietly walked into the common room, holding her book in one hand and holding her iPod with her other and listening to her favorite kind of music. She sat on a couch and began reading her book.

Ellie watched and listened as the girls fought. She was stunned at how mean the girl sitting down across the room could be. She was very impatient, demanding and rude. "Should've been in Slytherin." She mumbled quietly to herself.
The rude girl snapped her head in Ellie's direction and before she knew it she was standing next to telling her to be quiet. Ellie did not cry, pout or sit in fear. She stood up and stared the girl in the eyes. "No. I will not be quiet. I will not be treated like I'm a piece of trash. Nor will I let you talk to these girls that way." She said in her best counselor voice. "This girl was trying to be nice to me, something you obviously know nothing about. She doesn't have a problem." Ellie said pointing to the girl who was trying to comfort her. She directed her attention back the the mean one. "You have a problem. You are selfish, whether you think so or not. But guess what? The world doesn't revolve around you. You're rude, condescending, impatient, and I'm not going to let you degrade me or anyone in this house, okay?"
She probably looked really freaky right then. Her hair was a mess, her mascara was down her cheeks, and she was cornering another Ravenclaw in the Common Room.
