| | |  Ravenclaw Common Room
 The Ravenclaw common room is a wide, circular room at the top of the seventh floor. Graceful arched windows punctuate the walls, which are hung with blue-and-bronze silks. During the day, Ravenclaws have a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains. Overhead, the ceiling is domed and painted with stars, which are echoed in the midnight-blue carpet. There are tables, chairs, and bookcases, and in a niche opposite the door stands a tall statue of white marble: Rowena Ravenclaw. A delicate-looking circlet has been reproduced in marble on her head with the tiny words 'Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure' etched into the diadem. The statue stands beside a door that leads up to the dormitories above.

Emily had had enough of reading and writing and thinking. If she kept this up her brain would blow a fuse. But she couldn't help it, she was the competitive type and every time she walked past the house points in the Great Hall she would get annoyed. Ravenclaw would have to lift their game if they were going to even get close to winning the house cup this year.
Emily gazed around the common room for a couple of minutes, taking in the surroundings, the atmosphere and the familiar faces. Hopefully Claire would be along soon so they could discuss divination homework.
"Ok Charms, lets do this", she whispered to herself as she took out some parchment, a quill and her charms textbook to lean on. Claire came down from the girls dormitory and saw Emily sitting by the fire, so she went to join her.
"Hey Em", she said smiling as she flopped into the armchair opposite her.
"Are you starting Charms already?", she asked as she noticed Emily's text book on her lap.
"I'm gonna start on it once I've finished my potions homework."
Claire groaned... homework.... home... work... no matter how she tried to say it, it was horrible.
"Why am I a Ravenclaw? I should be a Hufflepuff..." sighed Claire.

"Umm... yeah.. everythings going well I suppose. The classes are interesting, though some of them are difficult to keep track of. I'm liking it so far." she said in response to Emily's question.
"I suppose it's a lot easier having you here with me. I don't want to think about what it might be like without you next year."

Oh weekends were wonderful. Whomever's bright idea it was to take 2 days off from weekday routines was a genius.... right up there with the inventor of pillows. Sleeping in was really the only way to spend a saturday morning. But now, it was almost noon and she had homework to catch up with.
Rubbing her eyes, Ivory shuffled down from the girls dormitory her book bag slung lopsidedly on her shoulder. Giving a few friendly smiles to some fellow Ravenclaws, she let her feet lead her to an empty seat and small table. A little sigh of content escaped her lips as she sunk into the cushiony comfort of the chair. This was exactly the comfort level required for homework doing.
Stretching out her legs to prop them up on a nearby chair, she laid out her planner in her lap ticking off the homework she'd already done and underlining those she still needed. Which one to do first, that was the question. Her eyes landing on the first underlined section, she nodded her head decisively. Transfiguration homework it was.
A few seconds were spent rummaging around in her bookbag, looking for the much needed watch. Couldn't do much without it.
Aha, there it was. Setting it down in front of her, Ivory shook her head ridding herself of the last vestiges of sleep. Time to concentrate.

She really did need to get started on her hoemwork.
"Mmmmmmmrrrr" she grumbled as she picked up her quill. ... potions was due in a couple of days. It would be best if she could knock it off now.
Claire did a quick brainstorm in her head and then the ideas flowed so quickly that Claire had a hard time getting her quill to catch up with her mind.
A half hour passed so quickly and Claire looked up. Emily still had her nose glued to her parchment.
"I think I'm done", she said after she proof-read it. "I'm going to hand it in, in the morning", she said as she stood and stretched.
"Think I'm going to bed..... night Em" she said bending over to hug her before she departed the common room.

Rowan entered the common room with Panda right behind her, as usual. She walked over to her favorite spot on the floor in front of the fire and sat down. She stretched a bit as Panda curled up in her lap and then dug in her bag for a quill, some parchment, and her Charms book. Having finished with Potions it was time to tackle her next assignment. With a big sigh, she set to work.

"Do you really think so? I don't know many guys who like girls like me at all. It's the consensus in my mum's family that men are not attracted to women who could beat them in any measurement of proficiency. A test, a race, a duel, anything like that." she replied to his last comment, not sure what exactly to think of it: to be amused, flattered, or annoyed. She unconsciously chose flattered, smiling and biting her lower lip as she sat waiting for his response, wondering if maybe her family was just very out of date. JP seemed to be friends with a lot of people, so it's not likely his opinions were unpopular either.
Maybe that's why many girls seem to like him. He was taught to be respectful, unlike my brothers.

"Well if i turn out anything like Truebridge i wouldn't mind be a professor. It would be kinda cool after all." Now looking right into her eyes. "Listen, I think you're brilliant. Forget about what your mom says! As a matter of fact i actually just dueled a gryffidor first year. She beat me. It was fine. She beat me fair and square. Nothing to be ashamed about at all. "Hello there Rowan!" Jp smiled at her "I think you'd make a great professor. If you can handle the students, I'm sure you'd love it," she confidently interjected, then let him continue talking.
"Thank you...Now why couldn't you be my brother instead of Nathaniel?"
Her smile grew so big, Charley could tell tears had even begun to form.
"That's great that she's one of your friends! Has she been in any of our lessons so far? It seems mine have been mostly Slytherins; makes me wonder why I haven't seen my brother."

Finlay laughed, as he rested his feet on the little table thing that was in between the two sofas. "I totally know your going to fall asleep." Because well....it was Neptune they were talking about. But they would look really cute if they fell asleep together. "Nope....not unless they want a detention." Not that he could give detention, but he was influencial now right?
He laughed again as he watched her lay her wand across her lap. "Hope nobody steals it..." He mused....not that anyone would because well they all had their own wands right?

Luin walked into the common room with a pile of books in her bag as well as a couple in her hands, her hair was in a bit of disarray, as she had been leaning her hand on her head as she was reading earlier and had forgotten to fix it. She had just been asked a very interesting riddle to get in that had taken her a minute to figure out. She was thinking of looking it up a little more, those riddles never really made her think that much. At this point in the beginning of the quarter she was still getting the hang of running around the castle and the homework. She was always so intense with her studies so she hadn't been too social so far, she didn't know too many people. She looked around at some of the people and decided to stay down in the common room, perhaps someone might talk to her. She quickly went up the stairs to her room to drop off most of her books and then found a cozy chair and sat down on it, bringing out a book to read, just her Arithmancy book, she found it quite interesting. She had the stick she had decorated in her hand and she was twirling it around as she read.
