Neptune Bott stroooooolled past the area where the Prefects were gathered. It wasn't so much because she was interested in the winners, but more to do with the gathering itself. The Head Boy, aka her BFF and KellyBear was there, and Trixie who Neptune figured was probably close to the best GIRL friend she had.

And Finny. Giggle. Finny was there. Neptune had kind of figured she was more or less welcome to the area.


Maybe they even wanted her opinion on winners? Neptune KNEW all about winners and what was good and what wasn't. Just the truth. Soooo Miss Bott lingered and fanned her face and.... lingered some more.

The Head Girl stood at the top of the table, glancing down at the Head Boy and then at the other Prefects with a smile. After much consultation amongst one another, they had finally decided who they thought deserved the awards in each category. Some had disagreed whilst others remain unanimous, but that was it. There was no changing their minds now. Trixie picked up the pile of certificates with the names of the winners and cleared her throat to gain the attention of the people in attendance.

“First of all I would like to thank you all for going to the party. I truly hope that you had as much fun as we did and that you all enjoyed this special experience. Secondly I would like to thank my fellow prefects. Without them none of this would have happened, they have certainly put plenty of hard work and effort into this and I wouldn’t want to change anything they have done” Trixie glanced back at them with a grin and a small clap. She couldn’t go without thanking them now could she? “Now the reason you are all here is because after much discussion, the winners for each of our categories has been decided. Believe me, it was so hard to choose between you all, everyone looked fantastic but at the end of the day, it was down to the people and the costumes that impressed us the most.”

“Our first award goes to the Best Dressed Male. Many of you guys decided that coming in a modern suit and a top hat meant that you looked historical. Although you certainly do look dashing, the costume we have decided to win is a splash different from the others. Congratulations to Matthias Gardner” she paused whilst everyone took in the news.

“Our second award goes to the Best Dressed Female. Pretty much every girl came in a stunning dress, all of which look absolutely perfect in an event like this. It was almost harder to choose who to give this award to, but we have chosen Arya Grace Lovegoods as our winner” she smiled.

“Our third award goes to the most unique costume. This category was difficult to pick, there were certainly some original and different costumes amongst you all. The person who just had the boost over everyone else was Braeden Stonem” she glanced around the room.

“Our forth award goes to the best historical portrayal. As our theme was English History, your costume was supposed to make a special impact, many of which yours did. There were a few that fit perfectly with the theme and there was nothing we could fault. But the award has to go to someone and this person was Kurumi Hollingberry” This job was hard.

“Our next award goes to the funniest costume. There were a couple that could fall under this category, however there was one that not only made us laugh but provided great entertainment for many people. This award goes unanimously to Maisie Jane Emerson” the seventeen year old glanced at the little Slytherin dressed as a tea pot. So cute!

“Many of you chose to come today with a date, including myself” a smile fell on her lips “This award goes to the couple that not only looks great by themselves but makes a bigger impact with their partner After much discussion, this award goes to Lexi Denver and…” Did he just go by his surname because she was so not reading out his full name.. "Salander" That’ll do.

“This award certainly is a special one. All of the professors in attendance blend in with the rest of us with their magnificent costumes. I cant criticise any of them. We did make a choice though and invented the Best Dressed Professor Award. This goes to a certain Mr Chad Stryker” Heh.. And it was pretty obvious why that was.

“Our final award of the evening goes to two people who stood out the most from the crowds. Not only were their costumes great but they enjoyed themselves as much as we did. This was probably THE hardest decision we have had to make but it has to go to someone. If I had my own way I would probably give it to everyone, however a choice has been made. Our King and Queen goes to….” If only they had a drum roll sound effect.. “Jake Upstead…Morgan… whichever it is and Neptune Bott” the Slytherin grinned.

“Thank you once again. Congratulations to all the winners and well done to all those who didn’t win. Honestly, you were all amazing!” she sat back down with a huge sigh of relief.

OOC: We didn't JUST pay attention to the costumes and how good they were. It would have been a VERY hard decision otherwise and probably make it almost impossible to decide. Instead, we have focused on how active and enthusiastic people have been as well as how much attention they paid with their costumes.

Iris stood at the table with all the other prefects as Trixie started her speech. Between each and every award announced, she clapped enthusiastically. She didn't say anything, the prefect didn't need to. Trixie had said everything that needed to be said.

When the Head Girl had announced the King and Queen, Iris smiled at her brightly. "Well. That's it. The Tea Party is all completely done and finished. Well done, Trixie." She then glanced at the Head Boy, "And you too, Kellen. The whole thing was a massive success because of you two."

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh.

If Neptune had known they were going to be announcing winners SO SOON - or that she was THE QUEEN - she'd have stayed farther back. That way she could have parted the crowds and made a royal entrance. As it were, she was pretty much front and center and turning more and more pink as the seconds ticked on.

A speech seemed a little too much, but Neptune Bott did BOW to the crowd. If the loyal subjects wanted to kneel before her, they totally could. Or, well, just enjoying being a QUEEN with Jake was good enough. JACOB. Where was he?

Jake, who had been trying to salvage something nice to drink, had turned suddenly at the words he was more or less used to hearing from near enough everyone, with some alterations every now and then: Jake Upstead… Morgan… whichever it is...

He'd whirled around looking like a lost puppy, and had seen Neptune up at the front.

Already?! She was... eager.

Jake WAS a little confused, so he stepped over to Neptune. Had that Trixie kid mentioned winners? The only thing he was used to winning was obscure and humorous yearbook superlatives.

"What happened?" he said to Neptune as he reached her, moving his top hat so it rested more on the back of his head. Was she... bowing?

...

Oooooookay.

Making her way to the tables, TJ found an empty table and hoped that she'd end up with people she didn't know yet. She'd had quite enough of all the flirting and teasing with that group of Ivan's friends. Her skirts all bunched up she tried to flatten them better so she could sit properly.

Sighing she gave up, she had no idea how in Merlin's name anyone in that time period could handle all the skirts!

SIGH.

"Jacob. You're the KING." THE king. Kings had to keep UP with such things. Neptune prodded him, then bowed her head again. He should DO what she was doing. Then possibly bow to her, because... well... she was the Queen.

"We won! And we didn't even try..." which was peculiar. If Neptune HAD been trying, she'd have done things different. There was possibly a lesson in there, but she was a little busy being Queen to pull it out.

"I am?"

Jake was... confused. He was pretty sure England already HAD a king.

Then it hit him.

"OH... I am," he repeated, with more, you know... KNOWING this time.

He stalled again. He'd totally forgotten all about those award things. How peculiar. "Well... clearly they know just how regal we are," he half joked. The 'half' part was on Jake's account. Neptune kind of... WAS regal.

"May I a-kiss the royal hand?" he said in a posh voice, most unlike his usual faint London accent, holding his hand out for Neptune's.

Neptune hid her giggle behind her left hand, then offered the ROYAL RIGHT hand to King Jacob. "You may. I think I require it."

In fact, she might require it of everyone. As The Queen, it was her right.


...was Professor Zookara around? Rawwrrrr. He could be second, right after The King.


"We should thank the Prefects. Do a royal bow or round of applause or something."

Kurumi stood frozen with Walnut cradled in her arms. While he still seemed distracted trying to eat the feather in his hat, Kurumi had her full attention on Trixie as she read off the names...and instantly turned the color of the Gryffindor common room.

Wait...had that just been HER name called. She was so flabbergasted that she nearly tripped over her dress. Thankfully, her hand caught one of the tables and she was able to steady herself. Still, in her flailing around, Walnut's hat had fallen off his head and onto the ground and he meowed rather loudly to inform her of this fact. "Oh, I'm sorry Walnut," she said as she attempted to bend over to pick it up...which never did work in a corset, so she hand to bend in the knees as if giving a curtsy to pick up the hat. "Half this award goes to you, you know," she giggled giving her cat some Eskimo kisses.

Arya had perched on a free table on the periphery of the crowd, crossed legs swinging idly, wondering why she hadn't thought to bring a snack from the tent with her when coming to hear the awards being announced, when she heard her name.

Oh.

Well, that had been unexpected.

A familiar heat rising to her cheeks, she replayed the last few words the head girl had said, ignoring the rest of the speech, to make sure she'd heard right.

SHE was the best dressed girl at the tea party? Where they SURE about that? Or was this some cruel joke? Glancing down at her dress, she tugged lightly on the hem of the dress. Hm. Had to be a joke. But she couldn't bring herself to go up to the awards desk to ask them, so she just sat there and attempted to cease blushing.

She looked so flustered it was downright adorable. She also looked a tad bit worried, which in itself was worrying, but no matter, he could not stop grinning from ear to ear.

Making his way back to her side and putting the punch he had retrieved for them on the table behind her, he finally had his hands free and wasted no time in giving her a big hug. "Congratulations beautiful." Really, he didn't see it as a hard choice at all. She was stunning. Plain and simple.

As Neptune stuck out her right hand, Jake lowered onto his knee (being sure the ground below it was the least dirtiest he could kind) and bowed his head to kiss Neptune's hand, his other hand behind his back again.

All old posh dudes did the hand behind back thing.

When he got up again, Jake let go of Neptune's hand but slipped his arm around her back/waist. "A royal bow? Errr... I think the applause will do the trick," the young man replied, giving Neptune a teeny kiss on the cheek. He KNEW he wouldn't have won this had he not been with Neptune. He KNEW it.

Though she wasn't expecting the hug, she did welcome it in hopes that it would hide her cheeks. Cheeks that were even more flustered when he congratulated her. Sabel was just no help, but he was SO cute. She wrapped her arms around him and buried her face in his chest.

"I think they got be confused with someone else." She mumbled into his jacket, doing her best not to look at her dress again. Yes, she liked it, but she wasn't so sure it was the best out of ALL the girls at the tea party.

Grinning, Sabel rubbed her back a little. "Oh no. I really don't think they did." The silly thing; she didn't realize how beautiful she was, did she?

He'd just have to tell her then. Every day, for as long as he was allowed.

"Of course you don't." Of course Sabel agreed with them. He'd been making her blush all night with loving complements. "You would have thought that if I came in my school uniform." She said that with the utmost affection.

"Well..." Drawing back from her a little he tilted his head playfully. "What kind of boyfriend would I be if I didn't?" Twenty-four seven, whether Arya believed it or not.

She pretended to consider the inquiry for a moment, really all she was doing was watching him. "You wouldn't be a terrible one." He could never be a terrible boyfriend. A bad one, maybe. If he stopped complementing her. "I'm not gonna win this, am I?"

Well, he technically wasn't a professor...but, whatever. Chad raised his arms up triumphantly and let out a much deserved "WOOHOO!" before settling down. This was cute.

SWOON. Jacob Morgan knew exactly how to make Neptune happy.


"Alright then. A royal applause." Ahem ahem. Neptune was okay giving the Prefects an applause on her own, leaving Jake to just keep her loosely under his arm. And she clapped, much like a queen would. One hand lightly tapped against the other, "Bravo, Prefects. Thank you for the party."

And for acknowledging her for the QUEEN she was.

...giggle. Now. Did any of them want to kiss the Queen's hand?

*Best dressed male? Wicked! He would have to thank his aunt for sure. She was the one that sent him the costume. He smiled down at his costume. Matty had never won anything before and he never thought he would win this. With a whisper he said.*
"Thanks... I guess feeling uncomfortable with this neck thing paid off."

Lexi had hold of Salander's hand when they entered the awardy area thingy. Her smile was so wide it would probably cause her ickle cheeks to hurt later. Hehe. Then she heard it... Wait... were they SURE? Salander and Lexi? Hehe. Awwwwwww CUTE!

Turning to face Salander she slipped her arms around his neck and giggled. "You hear that? Apparently we make quite the impact as a couple... That's lovely, innit?" she said in a low voice as she leaned in and nuzzled his nose with hers. Giggles.

Coming in from the Sleigh rides, Salander follows Lexi into the marquee, his fingers interlaced with hers. This was turning into the best night of his life so far, the drama from earlier that night feeling like it was ancient history.

He could see their Head Girl take to the stage but his eye caught something else as he drew close to a table-- his pink corsage for Lexi that was left there earlier that night. Without breaking pace he swiped it and pocketed it quickly, intending to turn it into a keepsake.

He clapped heartily for friends who were awarded-- Matty who was almost unrecognizable in the ruffles, Kurumi whose skirt looks to be almost as big as her.... oh and Little Tea Pot Maisie! Yes much deserved it was.

Then he heard it-- Lexi's name first, then his own. He stared wide eyed, wondering if he was hearing things again, until Lexi turned and spoke to him, nuzzling him back to reality.

Best dressed couple? Imagine that.

No need to imagine-- cuz their handing out certificates!

He stepped forward with Lexi in tow and took the parchments with their name on it. Yup alllll his name on it. Giving the Prefects and the Professors a thankful nod-- and specially the Head Girl for being kind enough to spare him his dignity by just calling out his last name, he said "Thanks! We werent really expecting this, we just dressed for comfort as much as style y'know? But really I think we looked this awesome because of my girlfriend here." he smiled as he looked at Lexi straight in the eye and squeezed her hand. Yes babe, we're official.

Smiling happily up at the Head Girl as she gave her speech, Ivory stood up along with everyone else to give all the winners a round of applause. They'd all deserved it. With their costumes and personalities, they'd all helped to make the Tea Party a success.

Getting up from her place at the prefect table, she gathered up her skirt and made a beeline for a particular winner. Enveloping her best friend in a huge hug, Ivory giggled as she caught a part of the couple's conversation. "No confusion whatsoever." Hugging her again, she grabbed her friend's hands and swung them in a little circle. "Congrats!"
