"Not exactly..." she said looking at the child. "It's more along the lines that you feel you need them." She said and took out parchment and quill and began writing. "First with Kururugi and now with Dakest... My issue is that they are doing some of the work for you, hindering your learning. If you are to succeed in my class I want you to do your own work. How do we get you to become comfortable enough to do so?" She asked the girl. "Tell me."

"I...don't feel I need them," she responded after a moment of actually considering the woman's words, the twirling of her want slowing. Eyes going to the parchment she was now writing on, she shifted uncomfortably in the seat, shrugging her shoulders lightly. "I can't help it if they volunteer to do some of my work for me..." Was it her fault that she had helpful friends? Nu uh. And it wasn't ALL of her work, just the dirty work, she didn't see the problem.

She shifted in her seat again. "I won't kill creatures for a potion." Period. Just wasn't happening. "Or be handle them like they had to handle the eels." She chanced a glance at the woman. They both knew she didn't want to be set on fire again.

"If you don't need them, why not do your own work?" She said and shrugged. "I see potential in you. You won't kill a creature for a potion, but you'll allow someone to die because they don't have the potion they need." She shook her head. "Here's the deal, Miss Lovegoods. I want you to sit in the front of the class at the next lesson. In front of me. You aren't a Gryffindor I know, but I want you to get over this... fear of me." She said. "Is that doable?" She asked.

Hm. She didn't respond to that inquiry, because she didn't have a response. Honestly, the young girl didn't know, and had never put any thought into their doing work for her. "Not...no. I won't kill a creature for anything." Especially not for a potion, and especially not for a potion that couldn't be used by all. She didn't say that aloud though, something Sabel had said before about the professor was repeating in her mind, almost distracting her from the conversation.

Arya was saving getting over her fear of the woman for when she graduated, but she supposed it would be best to start now, before Sabel left her as well. Head tilted to the side, she nodded it slowly. "That's doable. Can Sabel still sit with me?" Or would she have to sit with her bestie?

She sighed. Why was it the students were making such a big deal about using creatures in potions. Every potion that had been taught a creature was used. Fireflies, billywigs, lacewing flies, leeches... was a lobalug so different? Was it because it was bigger? Was it because it was cute, like a bunny?

Note to self: Don't teach potions that require bunny parts.

Sabel... Sabel... Oh, right. Dakest. Sometimes she forgot students had first names... "He may sit beside you, not in front of you." Was Dakest more than a Gryffindor Bodyguard? Was he her boyfriend? "And no hand holding in class." She added.

"Now, unless you have something you wish to say to me." She said meeting the girl's eyes, "which I encourage, you are dismissed."

Beside was better than across the other side of the room, so she had no qualms against his not sitting in front of her. "Okay..." She paused. Why the woman felt the need to add the hand holding bit she didn't know, and she didn't like it either. "Fine."

"I have nothing to say," she rose from the seat, pausing before she turned. "But if I do, I'll come back." The meeting wasn't as bad as she thought it would be, not bad at all actually. So returning wouldn't be difficult.

"See you in class, professor." With those final words and a nod, she turned and exited the office, holstering her wand.

"See you in class." She said with a nod.

"Alright Miss Hollingberry, Master Dakest, Miss Barken, Miss Slytherin, back so soon? Come in, the four of you." She said looking outside her door.

Damian hurried inside the Office as soon as the four of the waiting line were able to walk in. She would wait after the other three kinds but first she had to let the Professor know.
With a worried expression, her hands shaking and colder than usual, she made careful, small steps towards Professor, trying to focus on looking straight into Professor's eyes. She gave a light bow towards the Professor and whispered "Professor, if You don't mind, I would like to return to the Corridor and wait outside and then ask You something... alone."
If she hesitates or shows fear while asking the questions she was about to, she could be sent straight out the door.

"Y-Y-Yes, ma'am," Kurumi said as she slowly pushed herself off the stone wall.

Kurumi timidly made her way into Dragon Lady's lair Professor Lafay's office holding her head up as high as she could and trying her best to stand up straight. She couldn't help but feel nervous, after all, she had instructed Kurumi to come to her office after potions class. This clearly was not going to be a fun experience. Still, at least she had said her name correctly this time. Was this woman also a Legilimens? She had done a bit of research in the library after Jake had asked Mr. Ikenna if he was one. Sadly, she had not been around to hear the answer.

Moving into Lafay's office, Sabel gave a slight smile and nod to Kurumi. He had first seen her in Ikenna's office and now here. It didn't really surprise him that those that had questioned Ikenna would be asking questions after class about what seemed to be a new line of curriculum. If that was what she was here for that was.

Shifting a little more into the room, he tucked his hands into his pockets and waited. If he could help it, he would listen to what the others had to say first and then maybe, if there was a spare moment after all was said and done, he could express his concern to Lafay. For now, he fingered the folded paper in his pocket.

"Very well," she said and opened the door.

She reached into her desk, drew out a vial and tossed it to the girl. "Drink that. It's a relaxer and should fix the stutter." She said and raised an eyebrow. "That should be all..."

"Master Dakest," she said and motioned to a chair. "You wanted to speak to me."

That was it? Dragon Lady had called her into her office to drink a vial? Kurumi took it from the woman with slightly shaking hands. "I-I don't have a stutter, Professor Lafay," Kurumi swallowed looking at the vial and wondering if it was going to turn her into a newt. "You, you...I find you very intimidating, Professor." Kurumi felt her cheeks flush a bit.

Did she still have to drink it?

She narrowed her eyes at the girl and summoned the vial back. "You don't have a stutter, but you stutter in my presence because I'm intimidating?" She said rolled her eyes. "Miss Hollingberry, why are you scared of me? Do you think I'll turn you into a newt, or something?" She asked the girl.

This was the second time he had been told to sit when he didn't want to sit. Letting out a slow breath, he made his way over to the chair and put his hands on the back of it. His nerves really were too ruffled to be sitting right now, and he hoped Lafay wouldn't take offense.

Instead of answering the Professor right away, which he hoped his movement forward towards the desk would be indicative of his confirmation that he did have a question, he looked down at Kurumi, remaining quiet in the face of her conversation with the Professor. Not something he wanted to step in the middle of.

Kurumi's eyes bugged out of her head. How did Professor Lafay know she had been worried about being turned into a newt!? With all the talk going on about Legilimency recently, Kurumi was probably just looking for reasons to label someone as one...maybe...

"Actually," Kurumi said slowly gripping the edges of her grey uniform skirt. "That thought had crossed my mind." At least she was honest, right?

Not only was he not speaking... he wasn't sitting. This had better be good.

"I won't." She said raising an eyebrow. "And your stutter seems to have disappeared. You are not to stutter in class anymore, and I will promise you, I won't turn you into a newt." She said and then opened the door for her to leave. "Deal?"

Kurumi nodded. "Yes, Professor Lafay." Wait, was she really done, already?! Kurumi couldn't believe her luck. Had the Potions Mistress really just called her into her office because of her stutter? Kurumi was under the impression it was because she had asked Simon to kill her potions ingredient for her. "So, was that what you asked to see me about? My stutter?"

Sabel bit his bottom lip at the look Lafay gave him. He supposed it was a poor idea to even consider testing Lafay's patience, intentionally or unintentionally. So he yielded a little and slipped onto the edge of the seat, drawing out the parchment he had been fiddling with and slowly unfolding it, revealing the notes from today's lesson.

She had brought Kurumi in to speak about a stutter. Hopefully, his concern would be significant enough to speak about. It was that or the door and he wasn't leaving without trying. So, he put the paper on her desk, just at the edge where it wasn't in her way but it was very much present.

Hecate looked at the child. "I think you, know why else you were called here." Hecate didn't think she needed to tell the kid she needed to do her own work... She thought she was doing the kid a favor, stuttering can be detrimental to a child growth. "Do you need me to elaborate?"

The boy sat. Finally. "Go on, Master Dakest. You wanted to see me." She said to him.

Sabel hesitated for a long moment, his eyes running over the paper he had
set down before finally looking up at Lafay. It didn't really matter anymore that Kurumi was in the room, she had heard how he was with Gevrik and they seemed to share a lot of instances together, so this would just have to be added to the list. "What are you going to do with the potions?"

She stopped, steepled her fingers and looked at him. "They are going to St. Mungo's for the muggleborns who need them." She said and then added, "Why?"

Kurumi was about to nod and take her leave when the older Gryffindor boy spoke. She had been in several tense situations with him before, namely the time she had spent in Mr. Ikenna's office, yet he seemed to give off an aura of confidence and comfort. Instead, Kurumi remained in her seat and listened quietly. She had to admit, she had been wondering the same thing herself. Not to mention last term they used a potion involving phoenix tears that she never heard about where those had been sent.

St. Mungo's? Sabel's eyes widened a little before narrowing again. He hadn't thought of that, of the muggleborns there who would need them. And he was beyond surprised they were going anywhere but down the drain. Once again, in what seemed to be complete contradiction, he found himself trusting this woman more, admiring her a little more and seeing, if only a fraction more of who she was.

For a moment he watched her, silent and thinking, his mind working slower than the tornado it had been kicking up while in class. And Kurumi was staying. So he wasn't the only one wondering these things, not that he had expected himself to be.

"I was under the impression they may go down the gutter." Once again his eyes went to the parchment of notes for the creation of the potion, his fingers touching it lightly. "And these, will be tucked away? Forgotten?"

"Master Dakest... I would have rather sent the potions to a muggle hospital... but we can't... not now anyway. Maybe in the future." She told the boy. She looked at the paper in his fingers. "Is there anything else, Master Dakest?"

Once again Sabel found himself blinking at the woman. It would seem all his preconceived notions of her were being hastily re-written.

It took a moment for those words to sink in and for him to slowly nod his head again. "There is." Slowly, he pushed the parchment a little towards the Professor, his eyes going back to her, sincere. "How are we supposed to sit silent when we know about this?" There was a difference between knowing that there existed a cure for such muggle aliments and knowing how to make that cure. A significant difference.
