Well, this wasn't terrible music to listen to. She may be picky with everything else, but music was alright. Just as long as she could understand what was being said.

Which is part of the reason she didn't want to listen to French music, which...it seemed the groundskeeper took slight offense to. Or maybe not? Just a general question? "There is nothing wrong with French." she replied, shrugging her shoulders slightly. Unless you happen to be those French folks from Beauxbatons.

Seeing that the small are she started on seemed somewhat level and cut, Evelyn scoot over a few feet to another are to begin on. Could he at least given them sharper scissors?

He tilted his head to te side and watched the older slytherin curiously. There had to hve been something wrong with French people for this girl to not be fond of them. "Well, whatever a French person has done tonyou to make you not like them, I apologize on their behalf.". She probably wouldn't care for it much, but you can't say he didn't try.

Ha.

Evelyn had pretty much taken the words right out of Sierra's mouth. Sierra had wanted to tell the groundskeeper her request was for nothing French, but she'd been trying to lay off the attitude a bit and opted to ask about his personal interests instead.

*snip snip saw*

"What do I listen to?" Sierra repeated. "Well, my mum's a big wizarding rock fan, so that's what seems to be played most often around our house." She shrugged and momentarily returned to her grass snipping. Just when would this be over?! "I'm pretty much with Evelyn when it comes to French music, though. I'd rather listen to something I can understand."

Apologize on their behalf...pfft. She'd like to hear that apology coming from the person themselves, but, whatever. It was almost a year ago. She should be over it.

Sniiiiiiiiii....Bend. Eh. This piece of grass just won't cut will it!

"No it's totally cool." she smiled as she shook her head slightly, looking back to the groundskeeper. Apparently she couldn't keep that piece of info to herself. "Stuff happens. Long time ago." Mmhmm. So long ago it was still burned in her memory. At least everything turned out okay.

"But, yea." Nodding once more, Evelyn glanced towards Sierra for a moment before looking back to the radio. "Wizard rock music is good." Rock helped out with her mood. Sorta. If this grass would but and stop bending instead than it'd be even better.

It'd be even better if they could use magic, but...

...Cut! Dangit. Stop bending you darn, green, bendy, grass.

"Wizard rock is cool," he nodded, slipping his wand from his holster and waving it towards them. Their scissors became a little more sharper, allowing them to cut the grass easier. "You guys are doing a good job there...a little bit more and you are free to go."

Out of the corner of her eye, Sierra saw that the groundskeeper had withdrawn his wand, using it to do Merlin knew what. Sierra was suddenly well aware of her own wand, hiding away in its holster while she slaved away muggle-style.

*sigh*

It was only on that last snip when she realized that the grass had become slightly easier to cut. With her eyes narrowed in confusion, she brought her scissors closer to her eyes to study them carefully. Was it just her imagination, or...

Her gaze changed from the scissors to the groundskeeper, and despite how angry she still was with the man, she gave him a small smile. Okay, so she wasn't that angry with him, but she still wasn't too happy with the task she'd been given. Even still, the withdrawing of his wand minutes earlier had been to sharpen the scissors she and Evelyn were using, so she guessed that deserved at least a small smile.

*snip snip snip*

...and, oh! They were free to go soon! Thank Merlin!!!

On that note, Sierra smiled wider and picked up her speed just a bit.

A good job? Well, Evelyn thought they were doing an excellent job considering the circumstances. Having to use scissors that wouldn't cut, this was a pretty darn good amazing job!

Even if it was slightly off.

Not having noticed Mr. Stryker take out his wand, and only to do Merlin knew what, what she did noticed was that this piece of grass finally cut. No bending! It was just...not cut in half. HA! Take that you stubborn piece of plant.

Wow, it was like the scissors magically sharpened themselves. Look at how even those cuts were! That, actually caused her to smile. Yea, now THAT was some brilliant work there.

Awesome cutting, and they were free to go soon. Woot!

He watched as they seemed to zoom along now with their newly sharpened blades. Pretty soon, they'd reached the end. "That's enough, Mademoiselles," he nodded, getting up off the ground. Take 5 points each. Four for completing the task and one for putting up with me." It was rather impressive that he was still alive by the end of this.

"You may go."

Suddenly hearing the magic words that's enough, Sierra immediately stopped snipping and sort of rolled over to sit Indian style on the ground. She was exhausted. She just stared up at the groundskeeper for a moment and then slowly pushed herself up off the ground. Five points?! Five points!!!

So Anna had been right! She hadn't told Sierra she'd end up doing hard, manual labor, but at least she'd been right about groundskeepers giving points. Apparently, Anna had gotten points one time for dragging a Christmas tree into the Great Hall. Granted, she'd been allowed to use magic for that, though.

Although she didn't say anything out loud, Sierra couldn't help but think that they deserved far more than one point for putting up with the groundskeeper. After all, it'd been him who had suggested they do this muggle style in the first place. Did muggles even cut their grass with scissors, though?! Merlin, no. She didn't think so!

She smiled, though, and said, "Thanks, Mr. Stryker." ...and he'd said they were free to go, so she didn't really see any reason to hang around much longer. Besides, she was a little afraid he'd give her another task to do if she didn't leave now. Maybe something like bringing in firewood--one toothpick-sized piece at a time! "Alright then. Well, I'll...see you around, sir."

She gave him a little nod and a wave then turned to walk away. She kind of lingered, though, so she could wait around for Evelyn.

Rae needed to come here. She totally slacked off on her plan last year... But this term. Oh it was the CHOSEN term. Rae walked up to the door of... Whoever this new guy was and knocked on the door. Please... Please let this guy be a nice dude.

Evelyn was rather enjoying these, magically sharpen themselves, safety scissors. Well, not enjoying them so much she'll come back tomorrow just to do this job over again, but considering the circumstances... she was.

Scooting forward every other minute since the cutting was going rather quick now, even if sometimes she had to double cut a few grass pieces since they were just too strong for these scissors (what did he feed the grass!? Spinach?), Evelyn looked over to Mr. Stryker when he said that was enough. Really?

Following suit quickly, as in getting up from the ground, her eyebrows raised in surprise at the points being given. Well, what do you know? Sierra was right. Though, she totally thought they deserved like a hundred points for the brilliant job, but, that was her opinion. "Thank you Mr. Stryker." she nodded and replied after Sierra. And, they can go.

Meep! "Oh erm, here...the scissors." Yup. Taking a few steps forward, she handed the pair to the groundskeeper before making her way over to the younger Slytherin. "Have a nice day Mr. Stryker."

While she on the other hand, really needed to burn something or...something.

Chad opened the door to his hut and smiled at the sight of the young Slytherin standing outside. "Hello, there. How can I help you?"

The door opened and this new guy was standing in front of her. Which was what she was expectiong but now she had a face instead of a mysterious guess. Rae had that little voice inside her head right now, she rarely listened to it, but today she must Rae be polite now, you need permission so do whatever it takes to get it.. SUCK UP OR SOMETHING!

She wont be listening to that last part.. Probably.

"Hello.." Mister, I-don't-know-who-you-are.... "I have come to ask permission for an activity planned on the uh... Grounds." Riiiggghhht.. "I have gotten permission from Professor Welton and she will be present. I also got permission from my Head of House, and you are the last person I need to speak to."

Rae wanted to make sure that he know she had this all planned out and approved before he found out what it was and flat out said no.

Chad raised an eyebrow. "That is fantastic that they all said yes, I assure you that I will not consider it in making my decision," he grinned. He was already skeptical with the way she hesitated upon saying 'grounds'.

"Perhaps you should focus more on telling me what it is you are seeking permission for."

Agh. Of course.. It had to be this guy who had to be the biggest obstacle in her plan. "Some of the older students.. And I had a plan to go surfing on the lake.." Because water isn't solid ground, Rae knew it might be tricky to get permission for this, except she was pleasantly surprised with the first couple answers. "Professor Welton had volunteered to.. Chaperone" Was that the word she was looking for? Welton said she wanted to go surfing with the students... So it works right?

Chad blinked.

"You want to go surfing? In the middle of November?" He didn't know he should have been more afraid of: the children freezing or dieing.

Weather? Oh right... The ONE thing Rae didn't think of.. The weather. Quick, think of something... "Err... Well not right now.... Things like this require time and preparation. I'm working on how to conjure a surfboard. Last year I was told that I could use a charm to conjure waves too.. Which would be something I need to practice." Good save Rae.... Good save.

He wasn't liking the way this was going. She was asking to surf, but didn't know how to make the waves? And was in the process of learning how to conjure a surfboard? With winter approaching? Nu-uh.

"Unfortunately, I am going to have to say no. You want me to let you make waves in the lake, but you don't know how to do it. The wrongest move could be disastrous. Plus, like I said, it is the fall and winter is approaching." He shook his head.

"Come back in the spring and prove to me that you can do both spells without a problem. I will consider changing my mind then. Until then, why not use the Room of Requirement on the seventh floor. Ask it to give you a pool or something to learn how to make waves.

"But, I am sorry. The answer, for now, is no."

Rae was SURE she had this in the bag. Feeling almost as confident and smug as Fletcher, her ears suddenly had a hard time hearing as this guy spoke. What was that? It was something other than a yes, but she couldn't quite figure out what it was. Rae finally caught the last word. NO.

ERRGHHHH. This guy definitely wasn't on Rae's 'fun person' list. (Not that she had one.)
Her insides wanted to argue, but that would get her nowhere right now. Time to act like she wasn't a Slytherin, and she held her tongue. "Yes sir, I will see you again later then.." Great, it was easier to get permission from Lafay than whoever he was, hopefully she could leave now..

"I am sorry...just..no..," he sighed, shrugging his shoulders and looking a little ashamed at having to say no. But, being the fun staffer couldn't always happen, right? "Have a good day," he nodded, retreating back into his hut and closing the door.

How on Earth did he managed to miss such a thing was beyond him! At least he found out through Arya and not through someone he didn't know.

So, the boy walked down to the Groundskeeper's Hut, shaking all previous experiences away, and once in front of the door...he...knocked. He'd hesitated on doing so, but decided that he had nothing to lose. It was Mr. Masterson the one with a Niffler complex, anyway.

Chad was laying on his stomach down on the floor playing with Mico. He was having fun teasing the cat with a feather that was attached to a stick. Heheh. Pounce, kitty. Pounce!Pounce!Pounce!

"Come in," he called to whomever was standing outside his door. "Its alright. The door is unlocked."

The boy breathed in and out before turning the knob on the door. "Excuse me, Mr....Groundskeeper," yes, he forgot to ask Arya the name! Well played, Lockhart.

There was a small smile on his face, and he resisted the urge to roll his eyes when he noticed the man playing with a kitty. A very cute kitty. Mr. Masterson had a dog, a big one. And this one had a kitty? Seriously.

"I don't believe we've met, my name's Treyen Lockhart," he said, closing the door behind him. He could do that, right? "But that's not the reason behind my visit," it was certainly one, "I was told you were the one that turned part of the lake into an ice rink, sort of?" yes, that was a question.

Chad magicked a little toy mouse to move on its own, set it in a direction and let it go. Mico went chasing after it, while he, on the other hand, got to his feet. "It is nice to meet you, Monsieur Lockhart. I am Chad Stryker." Oh. There was more to this visit?

"Uhm yes, that would be my doing. Why? Is something wrong with it," he asked worriedly and looked out the window towards it.

Ooooooh, the man was French? That's probably why France's flag seemed to be on display, right? He liked France. He was part French, but knew nothing of the language. Ha. He didn't recognize a few words...like, Monsieur.

This all thing didn't mean he liked Mr. Stryker.

"Nice to finally meet you, Mr. Stryker," he said, with a small smile and a little nod. And it had been correct. He was the man who had sort of converted part of the lake. How happy was Barty about that, though?

"Oh, no, no, there's nothing wrong with it," he said, almost peeking outside, was it still there?? What was he doiiing heeeere then?! "I was just wondering how you did it." Yes, he knew it was with magic, he was just wondering what spells and all.
