As you enter the Hogwarts library, what appears to be a cozy nook in one corner of the main area appears most appealing to the Hogwarts student interested in his or her reading. Upon further inspection, you see that this comfy area is larger than it had seemed on first sight. Spread throughout the room are clusters of armchairs, surrounding magical reading lamps giving off different levels of light, all of which are appropriate for reading. These clusters are perfect for study groups or group projects.

Here and there are a few lone armchairs for the student who enjoys quiet solitary reading, and a number of sofas for any that would rather stretch out and put their feet up. Be sure not to muddy them up though!

A soft glow of light is present throughout the room, with more magical lamps in each possible reading space. Be sure not to make much noise and respect some students' wishes to read in quiet.

One last note, no food or drink in the reading lounge.

*Did she not get a lot of compliments or something? Matty only spoke the truth. And by no means was Marie hurting him. He would get hurt more when he's cousin used him as a jungle gym. Putting an arm around her Matty smiled and pulled her runes book over.*
"Let's start now. What part of runes are you having trouble on?"

Cass walked into the library and directly headed for the reading lounge. Between planning parties, trying to get into the best student list, and of course her busy social life, she had no time to read books, and she missed them terribly. They posed a kind of magic so old, and so pure, but so powerful....

She looked around and saw a comfortable chair by the window with light streaming through it. She smiled as she headed for the said chair and sat down. Then she tossed her long blonde hair over her shoulder and leaned her head downward, causing her hair to fall over again, covering her face as she became engrossed in her book.

Levi strode into the library, clutching a couple of heavy books to his chest. He wasn't looking forward to going through them that day but he had to catch up on his studies. One of his teachers had actually yanked him aside before the start of class and warned him that his grades were really slipping this semester. She promised that if Levi hadn't put in the effort to lift them, she was going to write home. That hadn't scared the boy too much but he figured he didn't need the drama. He wasn't going to enjoy getting a Howler from his father any time soon so he decided to hit the books.

He weaved his way around different tables and chairs. He wasn't a big reader but now and then he could find a few stories that interested him. Mostly they were about quidditch champions, magical inventors, and adventurers. They didn't have much literary merit but there were pretty exciting. Levi felt something bump against his leg and he realized he had walked into another person's chair. He flinched. "I'm sorry. I wasn't" he began before he saw who it was. He smiled. "Hey Cass. Uh, how're you doing?"

Marie didn't want to study anymore today. Studying was boring... and apparently made her look like she was dead. Sitting up and closing her book she looked up at Matty. "I have a better idea. Let's talk about your birthday. Do you have any plans yet?" Hopefully he didn't have anything planned that night cuz she had sorta made plans for him.

Cass looked up as she swept her hair away from her face and gathered them all to one side and glared at the person who had dared disturb her precious, and rare, reading times. But then her frown melted and she smiled, never mind reading time, spending time with Levi was so much better.

So she closed her book, and smiled warmly. She closed her book, folded the corner of the page to mark it, and gestured to the space right next to her. "Hey Levi, I'm fine. Just doing a bit of reading." Then she noticed the pile of books that he was carrying "Getting some homework done?"

At first, Levi had been put off by her glare but he soon felt a wave of relief when she returned his smile. He hoped she didn't mind his clumsy tendencies too much. They really could be a hindrance to the Gryffindor sometimes. He figured he should have been paying attention more to where he was walking. However, his mind was often prone to wander. Sometimes he just couldn't help it. Levi was very imaginative and thus, easily distracted as well.

"I was about to," the dark-skinned boy replied with a small nod. He wasn't all that keen on the idea. There were plenty of better things to do, the majority of them involving Cass and hanging with her. Now there was an idea. Homework...yeah, right. "Maybe I'll do it later." With that, he took a seat next to the blonde and placed the books on the table in front of him. "I can't remember the last time I actually finished a book, to be honest. Are you reading anything good?"

Samira glanced around the library and marveled at the peacefulness. It was a wonder why she didn't come here more often! She usually did her work in her dorm but all the other girls were all giggly and annoying. This, this
was the place for Samira! "I think I'll come here more often actually. It's like my own personal heaven!

Samira looked down at the book that Ellie ever so kindly gave her. This was perfect!. It was just what Samira needed. She wanted to be unique, not using the same spells that all the other students use. With this handy book, she could see the astounded faces of all her peers (and Charms professor) when she cast them! This was going to be great.

Samira was practically vibrating with joy now. "Thank you!" she beamed. "Thank you, thank you, thank you! You are...awesome." It was true, Samira really appreciated the older student's help. Just then, Samira realized that Ellie was her first Ravenclaw friend.

Septimus walked into the library reading lounge. Finally, he thought. Somewhere I can think. He ran a hand through his unruly hair. Skarlo, for the first time ever, had failed to provide him with information. Who knew? Maybe something would come up...

Seemed like Kurumi wasn't the only one looking frustrated in the reading lounge. Setting down her book about Ministry officials, Kurumi smiled at the first year. "Hey, you doing alright?"

"You're not the only one," she sighed setting the book she had been reading back on the shelf. He research had hit a dead end at the moment and she wasn't sure where else to look seeing as she couldn't go directly to her father and ask him outright.

Kurumi's eyes narrowed at the mention of Cookie!Hater. That girl...always made the back of Kurumi's head burn from the glares. Kurumi wasn't surprised she had used a love potion on the lion - why else would he be with such a scary girl ~~who hated cookies!~~. "You never do anything for your birthday?" Well that was going to change... starting this year. "That's terrible. We have to do something about that." She sat there looking like she was thinking for a minute. "I've got it. I'll hang out with you on your birthday. Then you'll have something to do. We can I don't know... go to the room of requirement." Okay so maybe he wouldn't be hanging out with just her, she would be there though... along with a few of their other friends.

Yes, she was planning a little birthday party for Matty, even if he didn't want one.

Then she glanced at the book that she had cast aside and shrugged as she looked at Levi with a smile on her face "Well, it depends on what you call good." She answered. "and most people don't really qualify an advance charms book as good." she added dryly

Then she shifted on her seat to face him and asked "So, what were you supposed to study?"

Elektra needed some time to herself. There was just so much on her mind at this point. She found an empty seat and pulled out a letter from her uncle Christopher in her bag. On the envelope read "Elektra." in Greek characters and she quickly opened the letter and began reading softly to herself.

Elektra sighs and folds the note up and she quickly wipes her eyes and shakes her head. "Great...just great." She huffed and put the note away and took out a notebook and began to write a note back to her family.

Violet walked through the library silently reading tips on make-up she heard about from her mother. She would gasp in excitement every now and then when she saw something she didn't know about and liked very much. Violet was also in the process of twirling her hair a little. She reached a section of chairs and looked up seeing Elektra. Violet gasped and said lightly trying not to scream in the library,"Hello Elektra!" She smiled and waved eagerly before she sat down next to her.

Elektra was almost done writing when she looked up seeing her bubbly friend and now...Elektra was in a slightly better mood now seeing Violet there. "Hey Vi." She said trying to give a smile, but found it hard for a moment and finally smiled to her. "How you doing?"

"Huh? WHAT?!" He said a little too loudly shotting his French up to look at the person who rudely interrupted his not even started nap "Maybe you should warn me when you..." ...o___O The boy just...stared. At her. And her brunetteness.

Levi tilted his head a bit so he could read the page she was on. While it looked somewhat intriguing, it didn't seem all that exciting. It didn't look like any battles or mysteries were going on. It was just the basic information the professors always droned on about in the classes. It would have been cool if they had thrown a little history into the task, maybe about the complicated spells that the opponents and allies had used during the second wizarding war but it might have been too off-topic.

Levi shrugged. "To each their own, I guess." he answered cheerfully. At her query, he sighed and showed her the books he had to review for History of Magic and Care of Magical Creatures. It was just the same dull stuff over and over. There was nothing he seemed to gain from reading the material. The passages never quite stuck in his head and he usually forgot what he had read about five minutes later.

"Well, I'm supposed to study these but I figured I'd hang out with you instead." He smiled. "I hope that's okay..."
