Belle came up to read her book her mom sent to her by owl. The book was called "something like fate." by susane colasanti. She just got this new book today and decided to sit down and read. "Nice book you got there jania." she whispered and gave her a wink. "I see your into mythology."

Benjamin searched and searched and finally came upon three books that were as thick as the wizards registry and flicked his wand at the three volumes and they all came crashing down on the table top of the shelves. He picked all three up in both hands and struggled to lift them to his chest as he struggled to walk back to the table where Jaina was reading a tiny little thing that looked like a newspaper, but it wasn't folded and he dropped the books on the table and looked at the thing she was looking at and asked, "What's that?"

Jaina smiled brightly and replied, "It's all about Thor! You know, Thor the super hero!" One could see she was genuinely excited about learning about one of her favorite super heroes! She looked between Belle and Ben quizzically. "What? He's a super hero, right??" Did she miss something?

"A what? Super hero? What's that? Is it like a super wizard or something? And if it's all about Thor, why in the bloody hell did I just kill my back carrying these? You obviously have all the answers you need in.....whatever that is. I'll just have the librarian put these back, because I'm not carrying them back." He signalled for the librarian to come over.

Jaina's eyes widened. "NO! You worked so hard!!! Look it, see, I'm putting it back." She placed the book back into her bag and bite her bottom lip. "Sorry, I forgot you guys don't have super heroes. They're people with special powers that go around helping people and usually fight villians. Most of the time they're people from other worlds. Like Superman. He was from the planet Krypton and he could fly in the air without a broom and stop bullets and had heat lasers that came out of his eyes and his breath could blow people over and all that other cool stuff! AND he had only one weakness....Kryptonite! He had a girlfriend who worked at the local newspaper and his nemesis was Lex Luthor." Jaina looked excitedly at Ben thinking she had just made everything better, but from his confused look, she could tell she was totally not learning about the super hero, Thor. She looked at her shoes and said, "Ok, first book about the REAL Thor please..." With a sigh, she took it from Ben's hand and began to look through it.

" You are one of the sweetest girls in the world" Rex told Fee." Yes, of course Rene will be back again" Rex said to Fee. " Actually, I do not thonk Rene cares for me anymore" Rex explained to Fee." I think she left Hogwarts because of me" Rex sighed. " I am terrible at relationships" Rex kept his voice and his head very low.

" Kyle, nice to see you" Rex told told her. " I seee books, but none from yoru classes' Rex laughed. 'Want some company?' Rex asked Kyle.

This room was now her offical reading hangout homework room. Its was quietier then the Slytherin common room, warmer and more lit then the dungeons. She could actually work or read without freezing to death, and could see the words in the book....better. Even the chairs here was more comfortable here, but they close to the comfort level of the common rooms chairs.

Caroline was curled up in a big fluffy looking light blue chair. Her feet tucked under. She was relaxed. She sat there reading 'a series of unfortunate events The Bad Beginning' that she was borrowing from her friend, partner in crime Katie Star. Who she would always see reading this series. She thought that she would borrow them from her. They must have been good since Katie was always reading them.

" Hello there, my name is Rex Trigwell" he introduced himself to the girl,. "What interesting book are you reading?" Rex asked the girl. " I do not come to the library very often at all" Rex said to the girl.

"Hello!"Caroline looked up. For a minute there she swore she seen her brother Casey standing front of her. This Rex guy could pass for his twin "I'm Caroline Scott" she told him, placing her book on the arm of the chair and pointing to the front cover "I called 'a series of unfortunate events The Bad Beginning'" It's a Series, My friend reads them all the time" she tolde him. "Me either I usually stay in the common room. But I found this lounge area. I'm nice quietier and warmer than the common room."

Benjamin sat down at the table and slid the thick book to infront of Jaina and pulled another in front of him. "Ok. this is how this is going to work. You read one book, and I'll read another just to hurry this along. But remember, somewhere in each of these books, is the answers to all three questions. Got it? Good." he pulled the massive book over to him and opened it to the front few pages of it. he started scanning the pages one after another. He let out a big yawn as the dust rose from the pages as he flipped through it.

About halfway through it, he stopped scanning closed the book with his finger in the book. "I hate these old books. They weren't made with indexes. So you literally have to go through every page. You find anything yet?" he looked over at Jaina to see where she was in her book.

Jaina had placed her head in her hand while she was perusing through the book. As she flipped the pages, it became almost hypnotic. Her eyes began to close as the page flipping stopped. She drifted into a dream where everything was perfect. She was top of her class, Ben was by her side, her friends were at the top of the class with her, and everyone in school loved them. Her parents finally approved because of all the good she had done.

When Ben asked if she'd found anything yet, she lost her balance on her arm and sent her head slamming into the book on the table. "OW!" she exclaimed rubbing her head. "I'm sorry what? I was reading about the Glepir and the Fenrir and must have dozed off. This is so boring." She rubbed her eyes and stretched. "You know, you are so good at telling me stories. I love hearing them and you make them interesting. You wouldn't happen to know any of these, would you?"

" Hello Caroline Scott" Rex said to her." Well, that book could be a story about HogWarts" Rex told Carloine." I like my common room, but I thought I would just get some quiet time here, too" Rex explained to Caroline. " I am a seventh year, you?" Rex asked Caroline.

She had to stop herself from rolling her eyes. Something about that “Oh, trust me,” made it feel like he was talking down to her, which Melanie found slightly amusing considering the fact that the subject was actually something she knew quite a bit about. They weren’t talking about Potions or frilly dresses here… it was Quidditch. Strangely enough, Melanie had no desire to retort back or even comment on what he said. She didn’t care much to discuss teams, game results and game predictions with someone she would be facing soon on the pitch... Even if she was sure Amadeus would make it an interesting conversation, no doubt by disagreeing with every word that exited her mouth.

She... sorta already knew his name? Heh. Melanie nodded anyway. "Yeah... Nice to meet you too." she replied, doing her best to return that ever present smile with a polite one of her own. "Last name's Lockhart." Melanie added, figuring she might as well let him know her last name, since he told her his.

What was she doing in the Library? "I was studying." There was a note of irritation in her voice, at the very thought. Thus far, she definitely preferred talking to the 'claw over reading over her Astronomy book, though. He was far more interesting. "How about you?" she asked, peering over at his book. If she juuuuust squinted... No, she couldn't read the title. Meh. "Whatcha reading?" A textbook, a book for pleasure, or... both?

Strange was the ease that seemed to have wormed its way into the reading lounge and their conversation. Maybe this was what he needed after a long, rough practice: a chat. Of course, he couldn't describe his quidditch and beater-related woes to the Hufflepuff captain for reasons of honor and loyalty to his fellow eagles, but he could relax and have a simple chat, something that he didn't usually partake in with semi-strangers. "Lockhart?" Amadeus's dark eyebrows rose, this time in mild interest rather than as a mocking challenge. "You wouldn't happened to be related..." He trailed off, knowing some of Lockhart's books were still in the library somewhere. His blue eyes tracing along the shelf behind him, he found it: Voyages with Vampires by Gilderoy Lockhart. Turning to swiftly grab the book, he blew off the dust from the cover and read the name aloud before returning his gaze to Melanie. "This poor bloke, Gilderoy, wouldn't happen to be your uncle, or a relative of some sort?"

Even if it wasn't so, it was not an oft occurrence to find someone with such a reputable last name. Everyone at Hogwarts knew the story of how he had once been a professor and had gone loony after some strange episode. The mental wizard had withered away to nothing at St. Mungo's.

Setting the book to the side, he leaned over and cast a derisive glance at the book that the 'puff referred to. "I came here to try to clear my mind. Or, at least, clog it with so much information that I would forget about the stresses of the day." Pushing the book even farther away from him, he began, "Encyclopaedia of Toadstools. One of the most dense works Hogwarts owns, I believe. Reading encyclopedias tends to calm me, usually." He knew that his words might have sounded odd, but it was true. Filling his mind with knowledge normally cast a serene effect on the seventh year; however, since herbology was not to his taste, this book had rather the opposite effect.

"No, I don't. But school homework isn't supposed to be fun and everything. It's meant to be tedious and hard work and sometimes boring. but that's good that you found the fenrir wolf. Maybe the rest of the answers are in that volume. Do you want me to look through it?"

"I know it's not, but this stuff is not fun. It's not like Irish mythology. Do you know that you have to keep your windows and doors locked at night when you have a new bride or baby? It so the good folks don't take them. You know, the good folks, like the fairies and leprechauns and such. That's what the Irish fairytales said," Jaina said explaining why she preferred the stories more than the history. "If it's fun, then it's easier to learn. At least, that's what I think." She pushed the book over to Ben. "Here you can read while I get my quill out of my bag so I can take notes." she smiled. She didn't notice that her card from her parents had slipped out of her journal as she pushed it to the side. Since it was opened in her journal, 'Happy Birthday. Did you decide? Are you cured? Mum and Dad.' could easily be read.

Jaina dug into her bag and proceeded to pull out her quill, as well as a surprise for Ben!

Caroline nodded"Thats is true." she replied back and laughed. "Wow seventh year, I'm a fifth year. You don't have too much longer here."She would be so glad when she was in her seventh year. "Yeah the slytherin common room and cold and kind of dark. That's why I don't like it much."

" WEll, HogWarts is a really great school" Rex told Caroline. " No not much time,,I will be graduating this term" Rex said to Caroline. " The Gryffindor common room usually has a lot of boys and girls in it,so it stays warm most of the time" Rex explained to Caroline.

Benjamin noticed that a large card fell out of Jaina's bag and leaned down to pick it up. He saw that it said, "Love, Mom and Dad" on it and grew happy to see it. So he read it. With each passing word he read, he grew immensely angryier. "What the bloody hell is this all about? "Are you cured"? What's this about, Jaina? And don't try to lie to me, please. What's wrong with you in the first place? Are you dying? Are you seriously ill? What?" Then he saw the boxed gift in Jaina's hand and stopped ranting. "What's that? Is that for me? You really didn't have to get me anything, Jaina. But I'll take it anyways." He reached over and snatched the box from her and proceded to open it. "What is it?"

Jaina froze when she realized that he had the card. She was speechless. Her secret on the verge of being exposed. She didn't know what to do. "I....I...It's nothing....really.....I'm fine....just Mum and Dad....well......they don't....." for once, she didn't know what to say. She hadn't told anyone what was going on with her.

Her attention to the box that Ben had taken from her hands, she quickly smiled and said, "Oh, I got you some licorice wands down at Honeydukes since you didn't get to go. It's also a mug I transfigured for you in class. Do you like them?"

"Oh, wait, don't finish. They seem to think that your magic can be cured, right? Want me and my father to visit them? they'll never bother you about this again." He tossed the card at her on the table.

"I love licorice wands. How'd you know? Oh my god. I love these things." He pulled one out and stuck it in his mouth. He looked at the mug, carefully and said, "What was it? A chocolate frog box? A piece of newspaper? you have to tell me. this is just great. I love it too. Thank you so much for thinking about me after the whole birthday thing. I'm really sorry for that, by the way. I didn't think I'd actually get my nose broken because of it, ya know?"

He started looking through the thick book and found Thor. "Aha! I knew these were the right kind of books. Here's your answer." And he scoot the book over to Jaina. He bit into the licorice wand and chewed on it.

Alice walked into the library and looked around. This is her second time coming here, she wanted this place to be one of her quiet places to study or just be alone but this place wasn't like she expected. She took a book out of her messenger bag and headed for the reading lounge.

As Alice approached the reading lounge she was too busy being fascinated by the size of this room that she tripped over a bag she didn't see and landed on her stomach. "Owwie...." she managed to say while trying to sit up, Alice looked up and noticed Jaina, Belle, Charley and..blimey it's that Slytherin boy again. Her face turned rosy red as she gave them a embarrassed smile. "H..Hey guys. hehe...hehe..mind if I sit next to you Belle?"

This isn't not how she wanted to enter the reading lounge where everyone was and how could she not see the bag on the floor and her friends?!

Jaina wiped away the tears that started to form as Ben spoke. She quietly took the card and placed it back into her bag. "No, it's fine," she whispered. She tried to form a smile, but it was hard. She never spoke of her parents to anyone here.

"It was a guess. I was going to get you some licorice snaps, but they bit me," she smiled. "I think that was a bottle. I saw she had a a glass bottle and I thought you could use the cocoa mug for hot cocoa and it's remind you of our sleigh ride together. I'm just glad you're ok. You really worried me," she let out a soft giggle and looked at her feet, " I find that I worry about you a lot now."

"Ah, Thor," she said as she looked in the book. She pulled out her parchment with her questions and began to take notes. "I should probably leave out the whole comic book thing, huh?"

Ben saw Alice enter the room and head for them. Then he saw her fall. "Oh my god! Alice? Are you ok? You didn't......hurt anything. Did you? Here, let's get you up. Carefully. Ok? Come on. Nice and slow now." He checked her out, and dusted off her elbows and knees.

"Don't worry about me. I can handle my own. As long as I have this around."
He pulled out a shabby looking notebook that looked like it'd been used many, many times. "This how I know the spells I do. My father and grandfather weren't always cruel. They gave me alot of lessons and alot of help with these. It's a perfect wizard's companion. At least to me it is. To an upper classman, they could probably use maybe half a dozen of these that they don't teach in school. So, yeah. I hope I helped you out on your homework. Gave you what you needed, and all that. Maybe next time in DADA, you can give me some help. After that last lesson, Professor Tate should be replaced. At least in my opinion he should be. But that's just me."

Strolling in the library, the prefect was dragging his blue Chelsea bag after him as it looked to almost explode with over-stuffing. He didn't go over the desks though, he was more comfortable in comfy sofas, even though they made him all sleepy after a while. But he was equipped even for that. That bag also had a mug with hot coffee in it. Prefect ready to study for the good.

Slumping on a couch, he gave everyone a look and a smile, as if looking for a working-buddy. He opened his Runes textbook, and started to read... and read... and eyed his questions...

Such long hours were waiting for him.
