A great number of floor-to-ceiling bookshelves fill the library, creating rows and aisles of books available for students to read and check out. When returning books to the higher shelves, just hold up the tome and the shelves will take care of the rest; there's a spell on the shelves which summons the returned book to the correct place. Of course, when retrieving a book, they don't 'know' what you're looking for, so those who aren't yet accomplished in the use of the Summoning Charm may use one of the sliding ladders that move around from bookcase to bookcase.

In front of each set of shelves is a small desk with a jar of billywig stingers on it. Students can sit at these desks to complete homework or copy down notes and book references. Be aware that other students may need to access books above you… so mind your head.

You can find any book here that's appropriate for all school years, so browse to your heart's content.

Putting her book behind her back Selina smiled, "Oh, I'm good. All of my friends are really getting on well and I love classes. How about yourself? You enjoying school?" Selina asked.

She really enjoyed talking to Alice she was really sweet from what she remembered. Of course they had only spoken briefly, a long conversation, but only one.

When Alice mentioned Gervik she felt the book heat up in her hand. All of the mystery surrounding him was driving Selina mad, but she had to keep it to herself. Only a select few knew about her suspicions and even they did not understand the extent of it. She still had a lot more research to do, and then top it all off with confronting Gervik himself.

"Yeah he is a mystery huh? So school sounds like a lot of fun for you. I like it too and what do you learn in muggle school? You can't study runes and Potions.."

"Why would they continue to teach you math? I mean I learned all of my math from primary school. And to be honest the only other math I have to do is arithmancy, but that is barely math.

"And football....?" Selina understood the muggle customs, her grandfather being one, but they always seemed very odd to her. She knew what almost every contraption was but growing up with magic she found them all pointless, but that was her uprising.

"You're a nice and fun person. I think you should just go up and penetrate a conversation, introduce yourself. What is the harm in that? You are a good person and really smart. People will like you. A lot. You just have to put yourself out there. You may be surprised in what you find." Selina smiled at her friend and gave her a one armed hug from the side, "Trust me."

Alice smiled “Cool they sound like fun. I don’t think I have actually spoken to anyone from sytherin yet…They all look a bit sinister. Then again with a head of house like Professor Lafay you would need a heart of stone so you didn’t cry every time she yelled at you.”

"I think everyone is too afraid of her to do anything about it. I know I am afraid of her. Besides this school does a ton of things muggle schools would find dangerous. Like a Dragon fighting students is not healthy." Selina laughed.

Huh…well Selina had a point there “Yeah…although they did say only people of 17 could enter…well apart from harry. And I’m sure the dragon keepers would have intervened if one of the dragons looked like they were going to…you know eat someone.B ut no it doesn’t sound that safe really…”

"But still, Wizarding School is much more dangerous than a Muggle School. I mean think about all of the nonsense that goes on in this school. I'm surprised we even get away with half of the stuff we do!" Selina laughed.

“True…But then magic in general is dangerous. We are lucky that we have really good professors to stop us getting into too much trouble. Even if we somehow managed to blow the school up there would be a nice quick magical way for them to fix it I suppose. It would probably only take a week or two. Not that anyone would be very pleased about the school being blown to bits…but it is just an example.”

A thought suddenly dawned on Alice, and it wasn’t a good one. “Hey you don’t think that is why that man from the ministry is here? Maybe the Ministry has decided enough is enough and the school needs to be made safer. I know that happened with that Umbridge woman in Harry Potters time but she went over the top. I don’t think they would stop us practising magic again... But in Muggle schools they have these people called Ofsted Inspectors, they come in and observe the school for a few weeks and then write this report, from that they decide what needs to be made safer and what teachers need to be changed or fired. Sometimes they will just shut the school down…”Alice’s voice faded away. They wouldn’t really do that would they?

Selina felt the book in her page burn up once more. Alice seemed to be taking right what she was thinking and verbalizing it. Gervik had plagued her mind for a while now. His behavior at the opening feast was peculiar. And she was going to, if she had to read ever book in this library, figure out what that was about. BUt she did not want to draw any attention to her quest, "I don't think so. You heard what he said, he is here to protect us. We go to a school of magic. It is not the most safe place in the world."

Jeremy wasn't sure if it had been a good idea to come here but he hadn't been able to resist the urge any longer. And no, for once he wasn't here for the normal reason one might come into the library, the books. But he wasn't sure how to do this...and if he even wanted to do this...and what exactly to do.

Absently running his fingers across the bindings of some random books, Jeremy wasn't even really looking at the titles of the books he was passing. No, he was completely lost in thought. About what to do, what to say...if it was clever to even do or say something or if it was best to just leave again.

Trailing behind a large stack of levitating books, Madam Donovan was absentmindedly returning each to its proper shelf. She was just rounding the next corner when... "Jeremy?" she said, lowering her wand and letting the books hang in midair.

'What was he doing here?' Did it matter?! She was so glad to see him. But he looked... upset. "Hi," she said softly.
