A great number of floor-to-ceiling bookshelves fill the library, creating rows and aisles of books available for students to read and check out. When returning books to the higher shelves, just hold up the tome and the shelves will take care of the rest; there's a spell on the shelves which summons the returned book to the correct place. Of course, when retrieving a book, they don't 'know' what you're looking for, so those who aren't yet accomplished in the use of the Summoning Charm may use one of the sliding ladders that move around from bookcase to bookcase.
In front of each set of shelves is a small desk with a jar of billywig stingers on it. Students can sit at these desks to complete homework or copy down notes and book references. Be aware that other students may need to access books above you… so mind your head.
You can find any book here that's appropriate for all school years, so browse to your heart's content.

Considering the circumstances at the moment, Evelyn had every right to feel a tad angry and depressed at the moment. Her own clumsiness had gotten her potions notes destroyed, and that did not suit well with her. Not when the OWLs were only weeks away!
Arms crossed and an almost empty bag slung over her shoulder, the Slytherin girl slowly browsed the bookshelves, looking for anything interesting she could read while waiting for Finn. Thank Merlin he still had his notes. Otherwise...she may have had to use Marie's or worse...Destiny's.
And nooooo...she wasn't hiding at the moment. Technically. O_O

After that potion disaster, any notes was fine. "It's more than what I have right now."
There were long nights of mourning over her notebook, mentally wishing alllllllll those notes to reappear once more. Alright, just without the mourning part. But she did wish her notes would just magically reappear. Pffft. "I'll give them back after the potions OWL? I promise I won't destroy them." Hehe. Destroy notes? That would be like saying she threw her wand in the air just to see how high it went just for the heck of it. It would never happen!

Kurumi decided that she should take a break and sit down with a good book. She hadn't been in the library for a while now - mostly because she had been too afraid to continue her family research and just couldn't bring herself to look up her father again.
Flopping down on one of the chairs with her bag in her hands, Kurumi noticed something and immediately tossed it into her bag.
Reading would just have to come later.

Sierra quickly combed the bookshelves, looking for anything and everything but a book. She was down to just one item on the list, and she was bound and determined to find it. Her fingers ran quickly along jars and books as she searched and searched.
Finally, after a good ten to fifteen minutes, she found just what she was looking for! With a smile, she pulled the item away, bagged it, and hurried out.

He had searched the grounds and been rather successful! He had searched the school and had been again rather successful, but the final item was eluding him!
And it was like being tormented!
So he decided the dark quite recesses of the Library would be a perfect place to meditate and reflect on where he had not yet been!
But it seemed that Destiny was smiling on him, for as he opened the door, there it was, the final piece!
Into his bag it went, and he was off, back to Lafay!

Emily was on a roll, she was getting through the list of items she needed to collect for Lafay.... this Potions Final assignment was such a brilliant idea... combining a fun game with theoretical knowledge. Her favourite.
Being a Ravenclaw, she felt it was necesary to check the library.
Speedwalking along the many rows of books Emily noticed jars.... of stuff... oh yes she knew what they were... ...............and! they were on the list! Brilliant. Stuffing one of the jar's into her bag, she hurried off... fingers crossed it wouldn't be too long now.
For some reason Emily had it set in her mind that it was also a time-trial... so the quicker... the better? though this was not case she still found it exhilirating to rush through the school, a sense of purpose urging her forward.
And off she went again.

Ahh. The Library. A place he had spent most of his fifth year in, but now he was coming in to see if there was an itme here. He kinda hoped there was because he wanted to find the items. Mmmm. Finlay wandered around the library, until he arrived at the bookshelves. Ahh. Now he was pretty sure that wasn't supposed to be in a library. It really did look a little odd. He wandered over, plopped his bag onto the table, and took an item, placing it into the bag gently. Pulling out a quill, he looked at the list, and figured out which clue the item belonged too. Ticking the clue, he picked up the bag, and left the library.

The library was by far the hardest place to search for things for Potions... mainly because it was so difficult to stop himself from seeing an old favourite book and forgetting the finals in favour of rereading it. He bit his lip as he searched... the library was also so full of books that in his mind it was almost cluttered, like trying to find something in his bedroom.
But THERE. Jake recognised it straight away, it was so out of place. He looked down the list and there it was... he remembered an old Care of Magical Creatures lesson including these very things. With a little smile of remniscience, he plucked ONE of what he needed and put it in his bag (but first making ten invisible divisions inside the bag so the ingredients wouldn't like... hit each other or other things and stuff like that).
That done, Jake ticked it off the list and went off to double check there was nothing else he needed from in here.

Just as she was about to drift off into her own world, she noticed something. Something that wasn't usually there. Despite the fact that she had barely been i the library for her own pleasure in the past year, she knew one thing: this item had to be part of the potions final. "Yes!" she whispered, grabbing the item and placing it into her bag. Swinging her bad over her shoulder, Kita skipped out of the library.

As she was doing so, she realized she was getting way too distracted by the books here. She then quickly turned her attention back to looking for the potions ingredients. Ahh, the library! One of the best places in all of Hogwarts. Of course this place would be the first place Vashti looked once she reached this level. And it paid off because she quickly noticed the very out of place item. Heh, she was quite sure those wouldn't normally be there. So she carefully picked one up, dropped it in her bag, crossed its clue off her list, and made her way out of the library.
She would be back though. Once the final was over, of course. Hehe.

Caroline looked throught the bookshelves in the library. She couldn't think of a better place to have hidden something if the hid it there herself. She looked thur every shelf labeled "P" or had to do with Potions. She finally found a book that was sticking out more than the others. She moved the book. Only to find a sash of crumpled up paper. She took the paper out of the shelf and threw it away. She shook her head, when she shook her head the noticed something completely out of place. She picked it up and put it in her bag. She done now. She had completely over looked it on her list. She hoped that it wouldn't count off to much.

Her mam always said you shouldn't make a noise in libraries. So Cherry sneaaaaaked into the library on her tippy toes and was SUPAH quiet.
She sloooowwwly browsed some of the shelves, looking for Potions-y things and Potions-y items. She didn't find any but she did find a colourful picture book so she sat down and read it. It had a pretty princess and a pretty prince and they lived in a pretty castle.
SO AWESOME.
Cherry was amaaaaazed.
She checked out the PRETTYY BOOKK and would have tippy toed out of the library if she hadn't caught sight of the sparkly jars then. OOOOHH. LOOKZY. So shiny.
She dropped one in her bag and then skipped off with her picture book.

With two items down they only had eight more to find. Merlin, they still had like almost all of them to get. "Come on girls, we're never gonna find all of these things if we keep moving this slow."
Walking through the library they ended up at the bookshelves. Maybe there would be a book here that had something to do with potions.
Hmm...
Did any of the clues have anything to do with a book? Pulling out her parchment she looked it over realizing she hadn't yet marked off the two items they already found.
Right, better do that before they got too far along and she forgot what came from where.

Mouth FULL of chocolate, Destiny made it to the HORRIBLE library. Hadn't she been in there enough this term? It was like Lafay was punishing her for something she didn't even do. She would have cursed the woman, but the chocolate was making it hard to do anything at the moment.
Reaching Marie, she quickly swallowed what was in her mouth before glancing around. Books, books everywhere. Taunting her. Telling her to read them.
Well, no thank you books. Destiny was not there to read you, she was looking for something else!
"What's that?" she asked pointing to the thing that was not a book.
