As you crest the staircase coming up from the sixth floor, you'll notice a statue to your right. Lachlan the Lanky is a great landmark for a meeting place. |

She sat quietly as she listened to Sabel's description of muggle medicine. "Episkey--lasting anywhere from a few weeks to a few months?!" she exclaimed. Merlin, that sounded painful! She'd always been glad to be a witch raised in a magical family, but now she was more than glad. She was relieved. "Treyen Lockhart and I are working on a potion," she said, her eyes flickering up to meet his. "We've been working on it since the last Potions for Muggles Club. It's...a cure for Alzheimer's." Her voice trailed off on the last few words. She was still a little unsure that she and Treyen were even on the right track with what they were discussing. A slight nod left him at her exclamation. "Yup. Depending the break. It's not very pleasant to say the least." Especially when there was more than one broken bone involved.
And then he was blinking at her in surprise. "Alzheimer's?" They were working on something to cure it? He could have sworn the muggle part of his brain exploded right then and there.
Bitting his bottom lip, he turned his eyes away down the hall. It was always a good shock to the system hearing that something impossible in the muggle world was as simple as a potion in the wizarding. Sometimes painfully shocking. "That's...wow."
With a small smile and an awkward shift on the window sill, he glanced back at Sierra. "And you say you know little about muggles." Even if she did, the fact that she was going so far to help them was amazing.

Even if she did, the fact that she was going so far to help them was amazing. Sierra wasn't sure why she'd told Sabel about the Alzheimer's Potion. It had a lot to do, she knew, with the fact that he was talking about Muggle medicine and how long it takes for a Muggle to heal. At the same time, though, she and Treyen knew next to nothing about creating their own potion, much less one that could cure something like Alzheimer's. "I do know little about Muggles," she clarified. She'd been going to Muggle Studies class and talking with Sabel some, but the potion she was creating really required little knowledge of the Muggle way of life. "I was raised around magic, though--as you know, and my sister's a Potions Mistress. Things like brews and the ingredients that go in them are right up my alley."
She paused and released a small sigh before saying anything else. "I'm not sure how great of a potion it's going to be, though," she admitted. "We're eleven and thirteen...or fourteen years old. Lafay's been in the lab with us, though. She's checked our ingredients a time or two."

"That is still amazing and admirable."
His eyes drifted for a moment before returning back to her, a gratefulness in them that was honest and true in its every expression. "I was raised in a muggle community. By muggle parents in a muggle lifestyle. Even when I started into magic school, when I returned home everything was still muggle, as it has been. I suppose, in many ways I am more muggle than I'll ever be wizard. So, I can say with sincerity and clarity, how much it means to them that you and Treyen are working on this potion. Even if it doesn't turn out perfect the first time, you have already made an impact beyond measure."
Shifting back upright, he rested his hands between his knees. "The thing to remember about muggles, Sierra, is that they are not so elusive and strange as wizards sometimes segregate them as. You know them a lot better than you think, because in many ways they are the same as us. It's all a matter of what's in here." His finger tapped his chest over his heart. "As opposed to what's out here." The same hand moved to give a sweep of the hall they were in. She probably knew all of this already, but it was the most important thing he could think of to tell her about muggles. The most important and often the most forgotten.

Pheonix walked in and ducked her head. She was new and barely knew and one. Pheonix hopen nobody would see her. She felt like a speck of dirt and a cluster of dustbunnies. So small but part of something bigger, still useless though.

Pheonis saw a girl. Not any girl a mean girl. No a super meanie chick. No, a soul shattering dementor-like girl. And she was talking to her. Phoenix felt like she shrunk from a speck of dust to the size of a germ. Invisible, but still there.
Her eyes were pooling with tears and her stomach dropped into a deep well. she felt nautious, lightheaded, blank. every emotion she had hit her and left all in one moment, all over this girl

Lydacorpia snorted. But then she kinda.... she kindaa.... NO! She would NEVER feel bad. "Whats wrong? I just said Hi. Whats your name. My names Lydacorpia. Slytherin and of course pureblood." she said with a raised eyebrow as she glanced down her bedazzled high-tops.

Hogwarts RPG Name: McKenna Spetetra First Year | "Ummm....Hi. I'm" she stopped "Pheonix," she muttered and stared down at her shoes. Seeing sparkles brought her to a magic world of unicorns and lollipop trees. Phoenix looked up. She looked at that girl. "I'm Pheonix what's your name?" That girl made her feel comfortable now. She was only human, not a dementor.

Sierra shifted uncomfortably for a brief moment. A thought flickered through her mind, and it made her sort of twitchy. Was she really in this just to help the Muggles? Was any part of this--at all--just to help the Muggles? As Sabel talked, Sierra second guessed herself. After all, for her, this project had been born from the determination to create something others had called unable to be created. Her goal was to create a potion.
...but was she really that heartless? Was she really only creating something for her own ambition rather than to help someone else? Her brows furrowed as her upbringing started clashing with what Sabel was saying to her. He was tossing out words that she knew may or may not even apply to her. Amazing and admirable had only been the first two--now he was going on about what was supposedly in her heart. "Sabel, I--," she started to say. "Sabel, I have to go," she finished. "Can we finish this some other time?" Her look to him may or may not have been apologetic. With all the confusion she was suddenly feeling, it was really hard for her to tell. "Thank you, and...you've given me lots to think about. I'll owl you." She nodded once to him and then turned and headed off down the corridor.

He had to blink in confusion at the sudden end to the conversation. Was it something he had said? An implication he had made? Or had he been rambling again?
There wasn't any time to check and make sure she was alright, given she had already started down the corridor. With a deep furrow to his brow, he watched her go. She hadn't sounded alright and he was rather worried about the whole matter. Perhaps he should have kept the talk to something a bit less controversial. He just didn't know.
When she was out of sight around the corner, he gave the stone of the floor a light kick with the bottom of his shoe, listening to the squeak it echoed down the hall. He supposed he would just have to wait and see. Hopefully she was okay. Maybe he could catch her in a class and make sure. Otherwise, he was definitely going to have to wait for her owl. Something he wasn't particularly good at doing. With a heavy sigh, he tucked his hands deep in his pockets and rose from the sill, starting down the hall in the opposite direction. Now was the time to think himself.
