Honestly, Di did not know how she got here. She was often getting lost now a days and she was afraid that she would find herself in the Forbidden Forest one day. Luckily, she had brought her pair of skates in her bag. Lacing her skates on she realize that the last time she had done this was when she was eight. Now only nature can decide.

She went over to the now frozen lake and stepped gently. Once she was on the ice she felt more confident and started to move more. "Here I--" before she got to finish, Di fell on the ice face first. OH Merlin, she was seeing stars.

"Hey! Look at you!" Kurumi chirped bouncy a little. Oh, probably not a good idea considering the poor girl was beginning to tremble a bit. Kurumi sure hoped Helena didn't fall, or if she did she fell forward so Kurumi could try and catch her. "Let's try to go just a little further..." Then, she was going to let go and Helena could try and stand up on her own. Kurumi's arms were beginning to hurt from the death grip. Helena was pretty darn strong for a first year.

Helena smiled as she noticed Kurumi's excitement. She was doing good, then? For a first time, anyway. Okay, mind and eyes back on the ice. She wouldn't want to fall. No, she definitely wouldn't enjoy that.

She made a few steps further, feeling more and more insecure on the ice. Seeing Kurumi's face, Helena realized she was holding her too tight. "Oh, I'm so sorry," she said, taking her hand back.

Not. A good. Idea. Not at all. She slipped on the ice as she took her hand back, lost her balance and...

Fell.

Ouch.

Kurumi was about to tell Helena that it wasn't a big deal and she should do what she had to do to stay on her feet when the younger girl let go.

"Careful!" she squeaked as she saw Helena beginning to lose her balance. Seeing her begin to fall backwards, Kurumi reached forward in attempt to grab onto her, but all she could manage to grab a hold of was the sleeve of her robes.

Sooooooooo not a good idea...

Kurumi didn't have a strong enough grip on Helena to be able to keep hold and the sudden movement had cause Kurumi to lose her balance as well.

"Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!" Kurumi shrieked as her skates came out from under her and she hit the ice with a loud THUD.

Kurumi started giggling.

Great. Now Kurumi fell because of her.

Looking surprised at her, Kurumi didn't look mad at all. She was giggling. "I'm sorry," Helena tried to say, but couldn't help but laugh. "Ice skating was definitely not made for me." She carefully tried to get up, but slipped again, hitting the ice... again. Ouch.

When she finally got up, she held out a hand to help Kurumi get up as well, hoping they wouldn't fall again.

Oooh. Ella was glad that Elliott was thinking on his feet there. If it was her who had turned up first, she surely would have moaned to the groundskeeper about having no skates. "Awesome. I still haven't ever been in that room." Which was annoying because it sounded like an awesome place to visit. Once her skates were finally all tied up and ready to go, Ella nodded. "They fit perfectly, thanks." She grinned.

She actually felt bad for pushing him away now. "No no, I'm sorry." But she still wasn't going to offer him any support, because SHE was unstable too, ya know? Eventually, Ella scrambled to her feet and stood quite still next to Elliott. "Right. Now we can support each other." She grabbed him by the arm and took a step onto the lake.

"Me? A laughing stock?" Elliott was forgetting one thing. Ella Ainsworth was the most popular girl in school. After grinning, her first step onto the ice was followed by a tiny stumble. It was a good job Elliott was right beside her, otherwise she would have fallen on her butt!

I currently have the score of Swan Lake repeating in my head XD
 

“Me a beginner?” Patroclus asked, his face wearing a mock display of surprise!

Pushing off and gathering speed, then quickly turning so he was skating backwards facing her, the LionBoy smiled at Katie, “I’m a pro!” Just a bit of a klutz sometimes….

He knew he had seen her around somewhere, “Ahh yes the Abraxan Stables, Now I remember,” he nodded, “so many names and faces, sometimes it’s hard to remember them all, but I won’t forget now, seeing as thought you stopped me from breaking my neck!”

Continuing to skate backwards, his hands clasped behind his back, he answered the Hufflepuff girl, “I haven’t skated for a while, but I did quite a bit of it when I was a lot younger, what about you?” Katie seemed to have a natural rhythm to her skating, but he had to make sure…..she could after all just be a natural at it.

"No need to be sorry," Kurumi laughed brushing some of the snow and ice from her robes. "Thanks," Kurumi smiled taking Helena's hand and pulling herself successfully up to her feet. "We have an expression in Japan. It goes, tumbling seven times but recovering eight."

Kurumi brushed some of the snow off Helena's robes. "Ready to try walking again? You can hold onto me as hard as you want," Kurumi said with a wink.

Helena's face had brighten up as she heard Kurumi was not mad at her. "True," she nodded, after Kurumi told her about the 'tumbling seven times and recovering eight' thing.

"Okay. One more time."

And here we go again. This time, Helena walked a liiiitle more confident, but her legs were still trembling on the ice. Don't fall. Don't fall. Good. She didn't fall! "I think I'll go back now," she finally spoke. "I've had enough ice for today." Looking back, she seemed to be soooo far away from the ground.

"Alright," Kurumi nodded spinning around on her skates so that she could help lead Helena back to the snowy bank. "I told you you would be able to stand on the ice. You even managed to walk a bit." Sure, she wasn't going to be receiving any Olympic gold metals any time soon for her skating abilities, but Helena should receive one for her effort.

"Okay, here we go again with the baby steps," she laughed as she skated a bit further away from her. "Let's see if you can walk without my arms this time." Maybe Kurumi should have casted a Cushioning Charm on the ice surrounding her...

Walk... alone?

"I wish I could levitate myself," Helena laughed, even though that was not the best idea at the moment. Well... yes. She was on the ice, alone. Okay, not exactly alone, but Kurumi didn't hold her anymore.

Okay, baby steps. First step. One more. Another one. She almost reached the snow when... she slipped again and fell, but this time on the snow. It felt... a bit better that falling on the ice. But it was so cold! She used a simple charm to dry her robes, then smiled at Kurumi. "Thank you for the first ice skating lesson, professor," she giggled.

Kurumi continued to slowly skate backwards as Helena edged her way forward like a baby taking her first steps. It was kind of cute, but Kurumi was sure Helena didn't need reminded of how wobbly she was.

Somehow, the two of them made it back to the snowy bank without much trouble. Seeing Helena flop into the snow, Kurumi thought that that sounded like a splendid idea and decided to join her.

Oh...that was much colder than she expected.

"You did a great job. Maybe next time we can try with real skates," Kurumi blushed trying to hide her cheeks with her hands. Perhaps Helena would confuse her blushing for her being cold? It was rather cold today. "Shall we head in side and make some hot chocolate?" Kurumi asked now blowing on her cold hands. "I think the house elves have marshmallows as well."

Helena nodded. "I'll send an owl to my parents to ask for a pair of skates," she giggled. She also noticed Kurumi's red cheeks but didn't ask why was she blushing. Hot chocolate? Yes please! "Let's go," she said, smiling.

Caroline was just skating around mind her own business, when she heard jer partner in crime, Katie Star new slytherin beater, was calling to her. She stopped, perfectly no falling today, she hoped, her hero Braeden wasn't around to save her today.frown but her partner in crime was. she let catch up to her. She gave her a big smile and hugged her back. She held on to her arm and the stood there greeting each other.

"So I hear that my partner in crime made the quidditch team,Congrats" She would have liked to try-out for the team too. She wasn't sure if she could make it. She only palyed with her brother, in the clearing of the woods at home. Plus it was her fifth year and she had the owls to take at the end of term anyway, right near the time of the quidditch finals. but she was planing out trying next term.

Satine shook her head, "Well, if there's a charm, I def want to find out what it is. That would be great!" she said a shiver ran up her spine.

She smiled at him when she facing him again..."GREAT!!!" she said quickly, but then when he mentioned his birthday her smile faded. "O your birthday!!! O my! When was it...I can't believe I missed it..." she said with a blank face...she wasn't sure how she would've known it was his bday but still she hated the she had missed it...it bothered her badly. "Well, we're going to have to celebrate it again! Yes yes yes!" she said with a smile back on her face and nodding her head up and down.

Hugo smiled sweetly at Fee. He was so lucky to have her. Slow. Yes, right. Good idea. Hugo shuffled further, and took off. Great, now he was as good as a dragon on kids sized skates. Actually, the dragon'd still beat him. But it went pretty well. He didn't dare to let go of Fee's hand now. He didn't want to. He shuffled further, and then his moves started looking like actual skating. Still very bad, but whatever.

Wrapped up in her gryffindor scarf and gloves, Emily walked through the grounds trying to stay warm. She would have normally spent her time reading in a warm common room, but she had over heard someone mention an ice-skating rink and she just had to check it out!

And sure enough, as she came to the lake, she saw it frozen and people ice-skating on top. "wow" she breathed.

She noticed Nika by the side of the lake and went over to her.
"Hey. Are you coming on as well?" she asked nodding slightly at the lake.
She had been ice skating a few times with her sister, but she was still scared the ice woudn't take her weight. She hated the though of crashing through the ice into the cold water below. shudder

Arabella-Marie stood at the edge of the lake and sighed she had been ice skating a couple of times when she was younger but hadnt been for years because she had always said to her mum she wouldnt do it again but here she was looking at the lake frozen and loads of fellow students skating on it she was scared all of a sudden and stood routed to the spot

"Yeah, I only just found out about it," Elliott mentioned. "It was quite convenient." Good timing too, because where else would he have gotten two pairs of perfectly fitted ice skates? They probably would have had to steal some knives from the kitchen and make some makeshift ice skates with their old shoes. He gave a smile when she affirmed hers fit.

He simply shrugged it off and waited until Ella got to her feet as well. "Do they have this ice skating area every winter?" Or maybe it was a random treat for the Hogwarts students this year. Lucky them! When they were both finally physically and mentally ready, they ventured out onto the sheet of ice.

"Yes, you," he grinned. "Even Miss Popular can be a laughing stock, you know." His grin formed into more of a smirk when she was forced to grab hold of him for some stability. heheh. Yes, ice skating was a good choice. "You all right there, name twin?" He asked as he slowly advanced a little further on his skates, his arms steadily raising in the air for balance whenever he felt the need.

Ellie made her way towards the lake watching people fall on their buts. Oh yeah, breaking tail-bones sounded like a great way to spend one's afternoon. she stood a couple feet away from the ice and watched as friends laughed and yelled together. It was so cold! She snuggled her chin into her scarf and tucked her coat closer around her.

She spotted Alex standing on the edge of the ice, looking skeptical of whether he should get on the ice or not. "Alex!" She called out to him, but didn't move. Why? Er... dunno.

Alex heard someone approach and spun around to face Emma. Just like walking, pffft. He rolled his eyes slightly at that comment. Sure it was just like walking, he found walking difficult how in Merlin's name would he manage to do that on ice? People were weird. "Hey Em." he smiled.

She put on her iceskates really fast, very fast indeed. He watched her with one eyebrow raised and looked down at his comfy shoes. He didn't want to have those killer shoes on him, his skates had never been used before.

Why? Because they had a killer sharp blade underneath it that's why! Muggles were scary.

Close his eyes? He immediatly looked suspicious but did as he was told. A ninja shouldn't close his eyes, oh well he had his partner to back him up. And now, he was supposed to open them, so he did. Man, he was such an obedient friend.

WHAAAT WAS THAT?!

Alexbear looked at the wrapped gift Emma held in her hands. "Happy birthday? But... It's December." he laughed. His birthday had been last month... Oh well, it wasn't like he was going to say no to a present. After all, he wasn't stupid contrary to popular beliefs

"What have you been up to?" he grinned taking the present from Emma. It wasn't a bomb or something right?

Oh, oh, oh someone talked to him. Alex looked up and saw a girl around his age. Was he alright? Well let's put it this way;

1. He had never iceskated before in his entire life.
2. Ice skates were designed by muggles to kill of innocent wizards (along with roller skates and mobile phones)
3. He would probably embarrass himself infront of the entire school.

Of course he was alright. *Cough* Not *cough* He smiled towards the girl. "Um, I'm... fine." he chuckled. As long as he wasn't on the slippery ice, he would do just fine.

"Do you ice skate?" he asked curiously. Perhaps it was a silly question seeing how they were at an ice rink but he didn't ice skate so perhaps she didn't either. You never knew.

Alex froze, no not because of the cold, he literally froze. Because he recognized that voice.

E-L-L-I-E. Ellie. His Ellie. His Ellie? Or just Ellie? He sloowly turned his head towards the source of the sound and spotted her. The fourth year Ravenclaw, the master of putting butterflies in his stomach. He grinned cheekily and waved. Wait, he waved? How dorky was that?

"Hey you." he smiled and walked up to her, relieved to put some distance between him and the ice. "Come to skate?" he asked.

Woah!

Hyun knew the lake had been iced over but he hadn't gotten the time to actually see it. So now when he had a free period he rushed out of the castle and ran towards the lake. The scenery was amazing and it reminded him of Durmstrang. He even smiled a bit..actually smiled! O_o

Walking towards the iced lake , he grinned as students were falling down here and there. He walked and walked and walked, until he saw someone familiar. He was just about to shout "El--" but was cut off when the girl had already shouted someone elses name.

He smirked when he saw to whom Ellie had been shouting at and saw Alex , rather petrified near the lake. He watched how they walked towards each other and decided to walk to them too. After all , he needed to congratulate his teammate right? hehe. "My my, is the Alex scared of the ice?" he said, his infamous grin plastered on his face as he stood besides Ellie. "Hey Ellie" he greeted her and turned back towards the Slytherin. "Ey i saw the notice in the common room. Congrats on making it in to the team!"

better not tell them he was HORRIBLE at skating...

She smiled when Alex came over. "Hey." Profound. She was going to say more, but she heard a familiar voice come up behind her and soon Hyun was standing next to her. "Hey stranger." She said back. She looked back at Alex with a smug grin on her face. "Yeah, is he scared?" She asked with an evil smirk.

Then her eyes grew wide. "You made the team?! You didn't tell me, congrats, Alex!" She said with a grin.

On his happy way to Ellie, Alex heard someone else break his happy thoughts. Another student? He glanced to his side and saw Hyun. Aaah the dear Hyun. "Of course I'm not." he scoffed with a grin. Like he would ever admit it when Ellie was there. Duude, she's standing right there! And... They knew each other? He looked between the two suspiciously, Hyun was standing waay closer to Ellie than he was. Internal pout. Suddenly he felt very silly standing there cluthing his killer skates.

"Thanks man, and right back at you. Did you see the first match is against Hufflepuff." he smirked. Those loyal, food-eating, yellow people.

Nooo, Ellie had heard Hyun's comment about him being scared!

Crap.

"Nope I'm great on the ice."

Double crap.

That sounded like he was such a girl and hopefully he wouldn't have to show her his so called skills because well, he had none. Absolutely none at all. He didn't even know how to put on his skates! Bohoo.

Phew, change of subject to Quidditch, something he actually did have some skills in. "Yeah I did. You're talking to the Slytherin beater now my lady." he grinned and wiggled his eyebrows like the villain that he was.

Hyun chuckled when he took notice of Ellies smirk. But then his smirk faded away when she congratulated only Alex. Hyun rolled his eyes but didn't say anything. He wasn't a baby that he needed to be congratulated by a girl right?

Buuuuut then Alex opened his mouth and he grinned back at him when he DID congratulate him. "Thanks man, were going to smash those canaries!" he made a movement with his fist in the air, as if punching it.

He lowered his arm and cocked his head to the side slightly. He grinned rather stupidly as he watch how Alex started to panic. He soooo couldn't skate! bwaha! ...Though, on the other hand , Hyun couldn't either. He knew how to put the skates on and how to stay still on the ice, but moving? He hadn't been the laugh of the class for nothing back at Durmstrang. He just never mastered ice-skating.

Not that he was going to admit it in front of a girl! he thought as he eyed Ellie for a second.
