Ice skating? On the Lake?

Uh... wow. Helena had always enjoyed watching ice skating competitions but never actually considered trying. And she didn't have skates either. Oh well, she would probably stay around and watch the others on the ice.

Katelynn walked down towards the lake, and spotted something... well, new.
She stared at the ice now covering a part of the lake - uhm.. was this safe?


She approached the groundkeeper and asked with a trembling voice; "Uhm.. si-sir? Ca-can we skate here?"
Well, not that she had ever tried it, but it seemed like so much fun!

Demitra arrived hurriedly with her large gym bag at the rink. She looked overly excited to be there. She was longing to be on the ice for as long as she could remember. After a month of being held in the hospital due to a serious injury, her coach had forbid her from skating for a while. She wasn’t told until when, but she didn’t like the sound of the news at all. She loved figure skating; it was her part of her passion, her life.

She sat down & pulled out her older brother’s old figure skates. She had no idea how they got in there though, but, she put them on anyway, stood up & took her first step into the ice she hasn’t had in so long. It was almost like she was alive again. She rushed around the rink in circles, looking up into the sky, waving her arms like angel wings. Then, she went backwards in a straight line and…..”whissshh....cckkk” successfully did her first double axel. She stopped for a moment & twirled around in amazement. She then decided to attempt her triple axel, so, she continued to rush in an orderly straight fashion. She got into her position, jumped up and….*whhiiissshh” landed successfully once again after her triple axel attempt.

Maya had seen something glistening over there...and ofcourse assumed that since she was about freezing her tortillas off, the lake would be doing almost the same.

But that something that had attracted her attention was not the ice, but the people who seemed to be walking on the lake. Like...some magical thing. Ofcourse, she knew what it was, but her experience with skating was minimal (ice-melting hot Mexico, yo). So, she inched forwards, wrapped up in her white coat, keeping her feet warm in her favorite boots, and stood by and watched the students frolicing around.

Hm... Didn't look too difficult.
...or something.

OMG THE LAKE! IT WAS FROZEN
Now Hugo got why his mum sent him a pair of shoes with swords attached to it. Hugo had ice skated a couple times before, when he lived in Scotland. That was when he was 5. Hugo had no idea how to do it. He was a train wreck at all sports except Quidditch. Hugo sat at the edge of the lake and put on his ice skates. He had time enough to learn, so at the end of the day he should be okay. His mum had asked him if he wanted figure skates, hockey skates or racing skates. Obviously, Hugo chose the firebolt sort, the racing skates. He could see his breath. Slowly, Hugo got up. Then BAM! He fell. This was going to be hard.

Satine hurried down to the lake for her fave time of the year....ICE SKATING!!!!! She ran/slipped her way down to the frozen lake wearing what felt like a million and a half layers....Satine + Cold=Disaster, so she always layered on tons of clothes. The top layer consisted of jeans and a dark purple coat with purple earmuffs and purple gloves. She had sprinkled a little bit of purple glitter on her eyelids so they would sparkle from the reflection of the ice.

She sat down on the edge of the lake and began putting on her purple ice skates as she watched the students already on the lake or circling around the lake.

Walking down to her fave place Fee noticed something different.Since when did it sparkle this much in the winter sun?!It looked soooo pretty. As she approached the lake the girl's eyes grew wide. Oh my glitter, the lake was frozen. That meant iiiiiiceee skatiiing. But where were her shoes?!Mhh.She would just try to accio them.Taking her wand out of her pocket she held it in the air."Accio ice skates." And whithin seconds her beautiful skates skates came flying into her direction.

Sitting down in the snow the Slytherin put her shoes on and smiled.This was going to be amazing.Even though she hadnt ice skated for ages, she was sure it would go well. Back when she was 10 the second year had been pretty good. Making her way on the ice, Fee noticed someone sitting on it. Huh?!Getting closer she noticed it was her boyfriend. Ohhhh what a nice coincedence."Hey handsome guy whats up?",she asked smiling down at him.

Jamie had ran down to the lake and beamed at the ice skating rink that had been set up. THIS IS AWESOME!! She had her skates in hand and just stared at the surface. She loved ice skating. She quickly changed leaving the shoes behind on the ground. She glided slowly over the ice AND.....fell. She land on her backside and felt embarrassed. Maybe if she were lucky enough, nobody saw a thing.

Chad had been putting on his skates when he noticed a student standing near the lake, without any skates. "Hey there. Do you want to skate?"

Aaaah, there was Miss Saylen. "Hello, there, Mademoiselle," he smiled towards Maya. "Would you like to skate? If you don't know how to, I would love to assist you."

Chad chuckled as he finally pulled himself to his feet. "I am going to hazard a guess and say that you like purple, Mademoiselle," he smiled. "It is a rather nice colour, I must say."

In the corner of his eyes Hugo saw a glitter. That could only mean one thing... FEE!! Or the sun. But it was FEE!! She just called him handsome. BLUSHBLUSHBLUSHBLUSH... "Oh hey Fee... Can you teach me how to iceskate?" he blushed again. "I keep falling down..." He stood up and wobbled around, out of balance. Hugo hadn't believed when his mum said racing skates were hard to learn around... She was right...

Hm.

HMHmhmHmhMhmmm.

The kids were falling onto their behinds, and it looked painful. They should use a cushioning charm. If they could perform one, that is. Heh.

She heard a familiar voice and turned to see the Groundskeeper, looking rather happy. And all smiley.

Pfffft, how did he know she couldn't skate? What if she could? How rude of him to think- Ah...who was she kidding. She shifted in her spot. "Thankyou, Señor Stryker...but I think I'll just... watch. For now." Or for the rest of the day. She wasn't about to make a fool of herself infront of the school. Ahem.

"I presume you are a good skater, then?" She smiled back, looking at his skates. If he was to help the other kiddos, then probably. Hm.

Skates? Pause. she didn't have any! How could she think that she could skate without any.. well, skates. *imaginary facepalm*
"Uhm.. well, no -- is there any way I can get any?" Katelynn asked with a small smile.

Belle saw the lake was iced, "Oh my god i love ice skating!" she said happily to herself. She got her ice skates from her dorm already and she went and ice skated on the lake. "Wow this feels amazing!" she thought. All her stresses went away, and she did a huge twirl.

Satine glanced up from her spot to the ice as someone was pulling himself to his feet. She thought she recognized him as the groundskeeper but she wasn't sure....she smiled at him as she stood up and stepped onto the ice slowly,
"Is it that obvious?" she said with a little giggle and a wink. "And you must have good taste if you like purple..."

She took one little swipe with her left leg to see just how slick it was and almost fell. She held out both arms to balance herself and then with a little giggle said, "Howzit! I'm Satine, sixth year Ravvie." she said trying hard not to slip. She thought about holding out her right hand to shake but knew that would make her eat ice quick.

Helena suddenly looked up as she heard a voice. She recognized the man as the groundskeeper, Mr. Stryker if she was right. "Hello. Uh... I don't think that would be the best idea," she said, looking a bit scared at the ice. "I mean I would love to but I'm scared to death and I'm really clumsy."

Iris was walking round the grounds on her own, when she noticed something NEW.

Curiously, she made her way to the lake.

An ice rink?!

Wow.

Iris walked up to the edge of the lake, smiling at the new groundskeeper man. Seeing Satine, Iris grinned and waved at her. Lots of purple, as usual. Seeing that it was obviously not a natural pool of ice comforted Iris a little. It raised the chances of her actually going on the ice.

When Hugo blushed the blonde smiled widely.Hehe, maybe she should call him handsome more often.Because he really was.Wait a second,he wanted her to teach him?!That would be soooo fun."Of course i would
love to.",she nodded.It really wasnt to hard and the Slytherin was sure Hugo would get it easily."You just have to practise a little",Fee smiled,"take my hand."It was easier to show him that way.

Wow! Hogwarts, without a doubt, had THE best groundskeeper. An ice skating area on the lake? Really? The man even made sure to put up the boards around it for those beginner skaters who, like Elliott, were bound to bop into them a lot. So, he was supposed to meet Ella at the lake, but now that this rink was here, he darted back into the school to search for some ice skates. There had to be some around here somewhere.

That Room of Requirement that he had only recently discovered sure came in handy, for he walked out of there with two pairs of shiny, new ice skates. He plopped them down on the hard ground and seated himself so that he could put the things on as he waited for the most popular girl in the school to come.

Sooooo... balancing all this weight on two thin blades? This was bound to be disastrous.

Valerie looked at the lake in awe. It was frozen? How could that be? Oh well. Val thought with a shrug. She loved ice skating! It was one of her favorite things to do. Val whipped out her wand and said, "Accio skates." Her skates came flying into her hand. Quickly she put them on and with a smile stepped onto the lake.

Satine waved at Iris and then made a slow and controlled motion for her to head this way...trying hard not to loose her balance and slip in front of all of these people. She kind of just wobbled around until she got her balance.

Ella headed towards the lake, the place where she had agreed to meet the lovely Elliott, her name twin. Hehe. She was excited to see him again, actually. She had loads of 'friends' who weren't actually friends, the ones that she spoke to like... once. She finally arrived at the lake, wearing her casual clothes. Jeans and a boring old T-shirt.

Her eyebrow raised. The lake was full of people. Fuller than it usually is, and once she got a better look at it, she realised that someone NEW was there! OOOH. An ice rink??!

And there was Elliott, sitting on the ground with two pairs of ice-skates in his hands. Bless. Him. Aww. She skipped towards him and bounced down to the ground next to him. "Helloo. Ice skating huh?" She took the other pair of skates and placed them on her feet without even asking. Imagine if he was waiting for someone else? Well, he SHOULD drop all of his plans for Ella anyway. Like, seriously... "Ever ice skated before?" She asked.

Elliott heard a bit of skipping from behind him, and a second later, there was Ella beside him. He stopped lacing up his skates and simply looked at her. "Oh, Ella! I hardly recognized you without the costume of a farm animal." He smiled widely and was glad to see that she was putting on the second pair of skates. Looked like she didn't mind the change of plans!

Hah. Ice skating? Didn't that involve balance? "Only once.. when I was eight," he answered, standing up unsteadily and grabbing her shoulder for support. "Hopefully I don't break an ankle." Then he wouldn't be able to go running. Until the nurse fixed it, anyway. "Have you done it before..?" 'Cause he was going to need help!

Hugo took her hand and almost pulled her down again with him as he nearly fell. "Sorry," he muttered as his legs wobbled. Then, he tried to stand still. And it worked. Yay, he could now stand still on a shoe with swords attached to the bottom that would probably break the ice and make Hugo sink and be eaten alive by Grindylows. Then Hugo came up with an idea. "Let's go to the other side of the ice," he said. It was a fairly big distance, they could have a nice little ride together. "But first: actually skating," he said and shuffled with his feet. He looked around. No, this wasn't how people did it, Hugo was sure of it. As he took a minute to shuffle 3 metres, he got passed two times by the same person. This wasn't going well. Oh how annoyed must Fee have been...

Ella stopped and gave him a small glare. Not one of her usual glares, just a playful one. "Very funny. But dressing up as a pig isn't something I do as a hobby." She clarified. She looked back down and continued to put the ice skates on. "Where'd you get these?" Or did he naturally pack two pairs of ice skates for a school? Unlikely. Maybe he stole them from a first year.

She nodded, and then suddenly he grabbed hold of her shoulder to support himself??! "DUDE. We aren't on the ice yet." So if he needed help with getting up on the GRASS, then this day was a disaster before it even began. Ella pushed him away from her, then pushed herself up, using support from the ground. Like normal people would. "Ohhh. Stop being a drama queen." You didn't see Ella freaking out, did ya? And this sort of thing usually would freak her out...

"Nope. Never ice skated in my life." Which is why she was excited about trying it. Although, she was feeling a bit conscious of her fingers. Hopefully she wouldn't fall and have someone slice them off by accident. MEEEP, okay. Now she was scared.
