Simon zooooooomed forward to claim the quaffle, doing an awesome loop-de-loop to avoid a bludger before heading down the field. Jake, who had drifted toward the middle of the field, swerved out of his way... Then he held up his hand triumphantly.

Melanie could just make out the little golden ball in between his fingers. A few minutes into practice and Jake had already captured the snitch. Hah.

...Annnd Simon was still flying down the field.

Kaia held up her arms for the quaffle and Simon obliged, passing the red ball to her. When he got closer to the goal posts, she passed it back to him. The boy tossed the quaffle at the center goal hoop, grinning as it soared through.

...Meanwhile, Jake was releasing the snitch again.

She knew she should have bought another snitch! To challenge him, at least. Jake watched patiently as the ball flew out of sight.... and then he went after it again. And caught it. Again. Yay!

Melanie turned her attention back to the others, grabbing the quaffle after it went through the hoop. She chucked it back at the waiting 'puffs, for any of them to grab. Simon was the first to come forward and snatch the red ball from the air.

Simon made a quick pass to Kaia as he ducked to avoid an incoming bludger. The girl continued down the pitch, flying toward the goal hoops and Simon followed after her. As the same bludger came at her, she swerved out of the way and passed the quaffle back to Simon. He raised his arm to shoot, and a moment later the quaffle was heading for the hoop on the right...

And Jake.

The Quaffle hit his outstretched arm, and began to fall. Jake had the snitch in his grasp once more, though. He gave Simon a somewhat apologetic look as he realized what happened. Oops.

Melanie dived to get the Quaffle before it could hit the ground. Once she caught it, she lobbed it up to the players above. Though Simon was just behind her, Kaia grabbed the quaffle. He flew ahead, and, as she advanced toward the hoops she spotted him, and passed the ball along. Simon caught it, and made a shot at the right goal post. This time, it went through.

"Good teamwork guys!" Melanie called out, applauding.

As she turned her head to look for Jake, she saw the seventh year with the snitch in his hands again. Awesomeeee. Melanie gave him a thumbs up.

Jake let the snitch go and sorta... shooed it away. So it could go find a better place to hide. He watched the golden ball as it fluttered off into the distance.

Meanwhile, when Melanie threw the quaffle back in, Simon grabbed it. He zoooomed down the pitch, looking for someone to pass to. Kaia looked rather busy trying to avoid a bludger, though. She just barely managed to duck at the last moment when it came flying at her... Yikes.
