The bludgers flew about wildly, enjoying their brief freedom from the crate, as the snitch... Well, Melanie didn't really know where the snitch was, but she was sure it was in the air somewhere, ready to be sought out. The Captain sat in the middle of the pitch, on her broom, tossing the Quaffle idly from hand to hand and awaiting the arrival of the Hufflepuff team.

There they were. As the 'puffs came out on the pitch, a small smile came to Melanie's face. She waited a moment or so, before blowing her whistle with a high-pitched, TWEEEEEEET! They (rightfully) took that as the cue to join her in the sky. One the team was up and ready, Melanie tossed the quaffle up high for anyone to claim.

It went to Isobel, and, caught up in the excitement, she gave it a hard whack with her beater's bat. Katie caught it and shot off down the field, to make the first shot of the practice. Yay!

Question Two: How did Harry destroy the diary of Tom Riddle?

OOC:: Wrong letter, but I'll give it to you anyway. Guys, I know I've been canceling with less than three people, but, because I'm expecting a few more players, we'll wait and see before I cancel the practice.

Melanie grabbed the quaffle as it fell away from the goal hoop and threw it back in play. Katie caught it again, and sped down the pitch. She was forced to duck as a bludger came speeding toward her head, nearly dropping the Quaffle in the process. A confident Isobel intervened and gave the bludger a hard THWACK! with her bat.

It went flying in the opposite direction, spinning toward the other side of the pitch.

Melanie applauded Isobel, watching as Katie turned her attention back to the goal hoops again. Looking determined, the girl zoooooomed toward the hoops and launched the quaffle at the center one.

With a "DING!" (sound effects courtesy of your friendly neighborhood Hufflepuff Captain) it soared through.

Katie gained possession of the quaffle again, as Melanie threw it back in. Meanwhile, Isobel was dealing with TWO bludgers... yikes. She handled it well, hitting one away from Katie and the other at the ground.

Katie sped down the field, Isobel flying at her side with her bat up, as if she was prepared to knock away any bludger that dared to approach the other girl. As they approached the goalposts, Isobel whacked one away once more, and Katie was given the chance to shoot.

Treyen braced himself as she raised her arm...

He was fast, but Katie was just a moment faster. She lobbed the red ball at the left hoop and, as Treyen dived for it, fingers outstretched, it just escaped his reach. The quaffle went through the hoop, and Katie scored again.

"Good shot." Melanie smiled, giving the girl a thumbs up. Treyen retrieved the quaffle and threw it back into play.
