Well, Melanie didn't really know where the snitch was, but she was sure it was in the air somewhere, ready to be sought out. The Captain sat in the middle of the pitch, on her broom, tossing the Quaffle idly from hand to hand and awaiting the arrival of the Hufflepuff team.

It went to Isobel, and, caught up in the excitement, she gave it a hard whack with her beater's bat. Katie caught it and shot off down the field, to make the first shot of the practice. Yay!

Melanie grabbed the quaffle as it fell away from the goal hoop and threw it back in play. Katie caught it again, and sped down the pitch. She was forced to duck as a bludger came speeding toward her head, nearly dropping the Quaffle in the process. A confident Isobel intervened and gave the bludger a hard THWACK! with her bat.

It went flying in the opposite direction, spinning toward the other side of the pitch.
