Her last practice at Hogwarts. Melanie couldn't believe it... Time went much too fast for her liking lately.

Thankfully, the weather was wonderful. There was a light breeze floating through the air and the clouds covered the sun just enough so it was visible, but not blinding. The Captain could only hope that the weather at the championship game would be similar.

They needed all the practice they could get, with the game against Ravenclaw coming up so soon. Melanie stood in the center of the pitch and awaited the arrival of her team.

Question One: Who tried to determine if Neville had magical ability by dangling him out of a window by the ankles?

Lockhartian 03-25-2011 10:03 PM

K - Great uncle Algie

Jake was at the locker room super early, that was for sure. He hadn't painted up yet, but that was coming. The young man stepped into the locker room and breathed in the scent of the room, embracing the grass!mud!broompolish smell and recoiling at the stench of some hidden quidditch uniform in here that hadn't been washed for some time.

Ew.

Wasting no time, Jake pulled on his quidditch robes and laced up his quidditch boots, trying and failing to ignore one fact.

This was the last time.

The last winning opportunity... the last time he entered the locker rooms... the last time he suited up for a game...

It had to be GOOD.

Which was WHY Jake then pulled out some hair gel he'd ordered, designed to stay put super quickly, and hold out for 4 hours no matter what. Jake's hair had been cut so it was a really presentable length, but when he began to spike it up and out all over, the thousands of little spikes over his head added another 3 inches to his height.

Grinning at himself in the mirror inside his locker, Jake put the gel away and instead brought out...

WAR PAINT!

Putting yellow and black pain on alternating fingers, Jake dragged the tips of his fingers diagonally down his face, making yellow-black-yellow-black strips as though a wolf really big badger had attacked him. Dude... he totally looked RABID. RAWRRRRRR.

Resting his broom up against the bench, Jake held the war paint and got ready to sort the others out when they turned up.

Lindzers 03-26-2011 04:59 PM

Melanie trekked down to the locker room, clutching a clipboard against her chest a bit... possessively. On it were plays, strategies... Stuff Melanie had gone over a thousand times, that she felt the strange desire to put on paper the night before. The seventh year was not well rested, needless to say. She knew that, and therefore Melanie was also carrying a mug of steaming black coffee with her. She had come to the conclusion that she couldn't drink the stuff, but Melanie figured it the steam might enter her pores and... energize her. Or something.

It really wasn't needed, considering how emotional she was feeling at the moment. Her last game at Hogwarts. She was nervous, nostalgic, excited, and crazy determined, all at the same time. That combination of emotions left her feeling rather on edge, despite the lack of sleep, and without the coffee racing through her system.

Wondering if anyone else was there yet, Melanie peeeeked her head around the door frame to take a look in the locker room...

And there was Jake.

A BIG smile came across Melanie's face at the sight of him, covered in paint. And the spikes... Ohhh. COOL. "I like your look." 'Twas FIERCE and whatnot.

"Paint meee!"
She took a step inside, reaching up to set the coffee and the clipboard on top of a line of them.

OOC: I'm totally crying right now, btw

Oh, man, he was happy. The happiest he's ever been THIS year.

The reason? Yeah, we don't know. But he was still eating those last grapes he'd taken from the Great Hall. A very smiley face as he did so.

This time, it didn't take too long for him to be at the Locker Room, though, he still needed to put on the robes, most of his uniform was on, except, well, the gloves too, of course, he'll be needing those. And the broom, of course, Kaika's Firebolt that was his own had been sort of repaired since Jake kind of damaged it, yes? Well, he didn't even care about that little fact anymore.

As soon as he entered he noticed Jake already sitting there. ALL ready. Well, he better be. "Jake!" he exclaimed, yes, not 'Morgan', or a sully 'Jake', it was...as if the boy was actually glad to see the seventh year in here. And Melanie too, "Hey Captain!" well, yes, the boy was happy alright? Bahaha. He didn't even noticed the war paint. Treyen walked towards Jake and sat next to him. Ignoring Melanie's request of...er, what? Paint her? What was she talking about? "Dude, this is your last game! I'm sure you'll be brilliant at it!" and why was Treyen talking to him? And why didn't he say the same thing to the Captain?

"We are Bagders, and we're awesome, right? Like those stripes you got on your face." He smiled, no, no, wait, GRINNED at the boy.

Felixir 03-26-2011 05:13 PM

Jake could smell coffee... which TOTALLY reminded him...

From his sports bag, the teen pulled out a biiiiiiiiiig can of energy drink and grinned at it. Today would be good even if he'd forget the whole sugar-rushed event. WHEEEEEEEEE!

"I like it too... we need to play like ANIMALS today. Make it worth it, no matter what..."

PAINT her? BUT OF COURSE.

"I was going to anyway," he grinned, looking mischevious. "You want the same? Stripes under the eyes? Half and half? Or... camoflauge?"

In fact... he would probably tune up his own to 'camoflauge' patterned soon.

... Treyen was being nice. And happy.

That child was unpredictable and strange... but Jake could cope with it for now.

"Hey man... you ready to win? We are going to play a fantastic game... we have to, guys. We HAVE to. I am never playing this game again..."

He looked down at the paint.

"Want some war paint on? We... are gonna play FIERCE."

And probably RAWRRRR as they left the locker room.

Weasley174 03-26-2011 05:15 PM

Simon was scared, he had was scared, even though this wasn't his first championship match this one was hard because he wanted to win this match so badly, he had no idea who would be in the changing room already.

Simon looked as he walked in he saw Treyen, Jake and Melanie already in the changing room, Simon got everything ready and sat down waiting for the captain to tell them what to do, hopefully he wouldn't make a fool of himself today, and hopefully there would be a few people cheering for Hufflepuff.

Shanners 03-26-2011 05:18 PM

...Oh. Crud.

Wiping the last remaining crumbs from around her mouth, and ridding her lips of the orange colour the tomato soup she'd just had, Kaia had SKIPPED down to the locker room. On her feet she wasn't so elegant, so by the time she arrived, there were grass stains, grass in her hair, and that neat little plait now looked like she'd slept with it in.

Which she had NOT.

But, as soon as she got into the locker room, she smiled a little at the others there, and eyed Jake. "You got some stuff on your face... Either you did it purposely, ooooor you've got some weird face infection." The fourth year mused lightly, and giggled as it hit her that it most certainly wasn't a face infection. Most certainly.

She smiled a little at both Melanie, and Treyen and Simon, and sat down, attempting to redo her hair. GSHSJOCNKIHPHS. This was why she was going to go bald. There would be no problem with messy plaits, and grass in her hair. And she could totally draw stuff on her head then!!!

Man, what had Hogwarts done to her?! She was slowly starting to go insane. Was this NORMAL?! Still, she hadn't even decided if she was coming back the next term. Might aswell plead insanity before she started Beauxbatons, if that happened. Ehhh.

Lockhartian 03-26-2011 05:26 PM

yeah, whatever, no quotes.

Still smiling, Treyen certainly nodded, quite enthusiastically, at his question. Truth be told, he was ready to have fun, but if they got to win, well, then, all the better. And if Ravenclaw got to win, then that was pretty awesome for Ellie, no?

It was a total WIN-WIN situation. According to Treyen.

"Yes, exactly, we HAVE to." Because THIS was Jake's final game, the End of an Era, as Kaika probably would have said. But, yeah, that was NOT Treyen's input on the matter.

Wait...what? War paint? OOoooooh, that's what Melanie was talking about?!

"YES! he said, a wide smile on his face, "Just...not as much as you have on," Hehe. The boy was always particular about his pretty face, you know?

"Simon! Get here, you have to get some paint on you." He gestured for his friend to join in as well. Yes, he'd forgiven Simon for that cold-water-on-face early this morning.

And, finally, pretty girl Kaia arrived.

Weasley174 03-26-2011 05:33 PM

Simon looked up as Treyen spoke to him. "What?...Uh?" Simon was to busy thinking about things he hadn't seen that most of the team had paint on their face, now that looked fun, though Simon was still worried about something, he wasn't going to let anyone else know what.

Simon got up and went and sat next to Treyen. "So why are we doing this?" Simon was confused, he was wondering what would happen if he woke Treyen up one day by using a dungbomb at 5am in the morning but he wasn't going to let Treyen know that.

D.A Forever 03-26-2011 05:38 PM

Please, pleeeease don't let me be late were the thoughts currently going through the girl's head, quickly making her way down to the locker rooms. She was ready for the most part, dressed except for her Quidditch robes, Kaitlynnh should have been down atleast several minutes earlier but had stuck around the Great Hall, barely touching her breakfast as she hoped to speak with Legend before the game. Of course, no such luck - the blonde boy hadn't showed up, or she simply didn't see him.

With her broom tucked under her arm, one hand held up her hair as she hurried toward the locker room, her other gathering the dark locks and making a grab for the hairtie around her wrist, Katie skillfully managed to push the door open with her arm as she tied her wild curls up into a ponytail, completely out of her face for once and quickly grabbed the broom before it could fully slip out from her arm.

A glance up had her looking at most of the team, getting ready and.. painting? Interesting. "Hey guys," She greeted, a small smile on her lips.

GEEEEEZ.

WAY TO MAKE SOMEONE FEEL WANTED.

She was being ignored. IGNORED. For Jake... who Melanie thought Treyen had problems with. Whatever, though. At least they seemed to be getting along... which was great, of course!

And uhmm... Hm. "However you want to." she answered, with a small shrug. "I just want to look, you know..." He knew. "Rabid and all." She nodded slightly, unable to contain the grin on her face.

Awww...

As Melanie's eyes drifted to the nervous looking 3rd year, she gave him a sympathetic look. "Don't worry about it, kid. You'll be fine." She smiled, giving him a little pat on the back.

----------------------

And... oh, hai. There was Katie and Kaia. Melanie returned her smile, waving a both of them little. "Hiiii."

"I hope you're all PUMPED for the game!" Obviously, Melanie was. She was still wearing that sort-of-crazed grin on her face. WHEEEE! "We're going to do great! I have confidence in all of you, and I KNOW we can win this one!" Yes, she was addressing them all now. Her lovely Badgers.

"Yes indeedy I do..." Jake nodded, and waited until Kaia was busy with her hair before getting the fingertips on one hand yellow and on the other hand black... before POUNCING (kinda) and stepping in front of her. He dragged the fingers down her face on either side, making sure to close her eyes as he did, so she had yellow streaks on the left and black on the right.

"And so do you!"

With a grin (a friendly one), Jake did two stripes horizontally under each of Treyen's eyes, one black and one yellow...

Spying another one, Jake grinned and stalked over to her like a cat... literally, on hands and feet and everything... before springing up and doing the special make up just like Kaia's.

He had just enough time to shout a quick...

"HAI! ... BAI!"

Before scuttling off.

"Aye aye, cap'n!" Jake saluted (getting more paint on his face in the process) and put lots of yellow and black streaks on Melanie's face in loads of directions. 'Cause she was captain and also facing her final game.

"We all need to give a big RAWRRRRR as we fly into position," he pointed out, making his own face up so that he could go hide in yellow and black grass with his face poking out and not be found. The being done, the paint was lidded and chucked into his bag. Everyone was sorted and now he had just downed his energy drink.

"I am so ready..."

Last.

Game.

Ever.

"... to win."
