Melanie was soooo much distracted by Jake's spectacular catch, that she didn't even notice the LOOKS she was getting for hogging the quaffle like she was.

Whoops?

Grinning somewhat sheepishly, Melanie threw the Quaffle to Kaia, who zooooomed down the pitch at top speed. She very nearly caught Treyen off guard, but her efforts were to no avail. As she lobbed the quaffle at the left hoop, he brought his arm out and knocked it away.

As Treyen tossed the quaffle back in, Kaia snatched it from the air. She was already near the hoops, and it was with determination that she raised her arm to shoot for the right hoop...

This time, it was closer, but Treyen kicked the red ball away with all his might.

It very nearly hit Jake, who seemed to be looking for something as he flew around the base of the hoops.

The Quaffle rose in a high arc as Kaia threw it, flying over the heads of Melanie and Jake as it went for the center hoop. It seemed to go in slow motion, its total epicness attracting the attention of all the players.

Apparently the throw's epicness was not enough to match Treyen's epicness, though. Diving, he batted it away from the hoop with the tips of his fingers.

"Good play, both of you!"
Melanie called out, clapping a little.

Melanie brought the whistle to her lips as Treyen flew off to retrieve the quaffle.

TWEEEEEEEET!

...Once again, it was effective in getting her team's attention. "You all played well today. Keep it up, and I know we'll kick butt in the game against Ravenclaw." Melanie couldn't help the grin that came to her face, at the thought. Hehe... "Practice dismissed. I'll see you all at the next one."

With that, the team departed, Treyen handing her the quaffle and Jake the snitch. Melanie stayed to gather the bludgers for a few minutes, before leaving herself.

Melanie hovered in the center of the pitch, enjoying the light breeze as she watched her teammates approach down below. She held the quaffle in one hand, twirling it absentmindedly and-

...Oops.

The girl simply stared as it began to descend. One of her teammates would get it, right?
