It was their last practice before the game against Ravenclaw and Melanie wanted to make sure the Hufflepuff team was prepared. It was with a look of determination on her face that she marched down to the pitch, and released the bludgers and snitch from the crate, as she always did. Soon, they were up on the air.

The Captain remained on the ground, waiting on the team to arrive.

Jake was ready for this... it was probably easier to play if you didn't really mind or care for the outcome. He was a lot more... down lately. Quidditch wasn't going to fix that BUT he'd give it a go.

Once he was changed into his yellow and black quidditch robes, he grabbed the broom he'd acquired over the summer in Diagon Alley and took his place by the exit, straining to look out into the stands.

Lockhartian 02-26-2011 06:25 PM

He didn't oversleep!

WOOT!

Treyen Lockhart had managed to make it to the Locker Room with some time to spare and he was smiling for that. A smile that suddenly disappeared when he noticed Jake already in there.

Well, the Captain wasn't around yet...

..."Jake," he said, with one nod and went over to his Locker. Keeper gloves for the win!

Treyen was secretly hoping there'll be no redhead to distract him...or if there was a redhead, then hopefully he won't get distracted? Because Arya was wrong. Being Keeper was super awful when a close friend was a Chaser on the opposite team. But, yeah, that didn't matter, right? After all, he did try to take out his OWN Seeker.

Simon walked into the changing rooms, he wasn't in the best mood, he had no idea why, but he was just feeling sick, he felt like it before every Quidditch match he played in, he couldn't wait to get out there, suddenly he saw Treyen and Jake already there, he smiled and nodded to them, then he got ready for the match once he was ready he sat down and waited.

Melanie, already clad in her quidditch robes, paced back and forth accross the locker room. Pacing was good when you were nervous, yes? Pacing and talking to yourself... Both of which the Captain was doing at the moment, as she mentally went over all the quidditch plays she'd ever learned, in her head. She wanted so much to win. And the girl knew nerves didn't help her playing... She honestly couldn't help it though. Melanie was the competitive type and this was her last year.

As people began to enter the locker room, she nodded and smiled. The pacing stopped, and, really, around the others, she held no trace of nervousness. On purpose.

"Badgers, we're going to do great. If we try our best, I know we can win this one!" she grinned confidently and, with that, Melanie picked up her broom and led her team out of the locker room. She wasn't one for speeches.

I apologize about yesterday's practice, everyone. My internet randomly stopped working, for unknown reasons. On the bright side, at least it's decided to come back for today's practice...

Melanie walked out on the pitch, with a broom under one arm, and a crate under the other. The weather was lovely... perfect for flying. But, then again, what weather wasn't? Heh.

Once she reached the center of the pitch, she let the crate hit the ground with a thud. Then the Captain unclasped to let the snitch and bludgers out.

After that, she turned to face the entrance to the pitch... waiting.

Question One: According to Quidditch Through The Ages, what is Stooging?

s - more than one chaser entering the scoring area

Lindzers 03-23-2011 10:14 PM

Correct Answer: A Quidditch foul where more than one Chaser enters the scoring area

And thereee they were. Well, at least, there was Jake. Melanie could see a few 'puffs heading for the pitch, out in the distance, though...

Nodding to the seeker in greeting, Melanie gave a simple instruction: "Laps."

Within moments, he was up in the air. Squinting, Melanie eyed those still making their way up to the pitch.

Faster, people, faster!

C- Big D

Correct Answer: Big D

Soon enough, other people had arrived. And, of course, Melanie had them up in the air with Jakers doing laps in no time. FUN.

It wasn't long before Melanie snatched the quaffle from the crate and joined them in the sky. She brought her whistle to her lips with a high-pitched TWEEEET!, to get their attention.

Then, once all heads had turned, she tossed the red ball high in the air.

Question Three: Which Quidditch move involves a Chaser throwing the Quaffle over a shoulder to a teammate?

Felixir 03-23-2011 10:21 PM

s - reverse pass

Lockhartian 03-23-2011 10:21 PM

K - reverse pass

Lindzers 03-23-2011 10:28 PM

Correct Answer: Reverse Pass

Perhaps... she tossed it a little too far? Yes?

Melanie might need to work on her aim a bit.

She'd been going for the center of the pitch, but instead the Quaffle went flying for the hoops. Treyen caught it, with a rather bewildered look on his face, as he tossed it back to... you guessed it, Melanie.

Meanwhile, Jake seemed to have spotted something fluttering nearby the stands!

Question Four: Which one of Aunt Marge’s dogs chased Harry up a tree?

Felixir 03-23-2011 10:28 PM

s - ripper

Lockhartian 03-23-2011 10:28 PM

K - Ripper

Shanners 03-23-2011 10:30 PM

C- Ripper

Lindzers 03-23-2011 10:34 PM

Correct Answer: Ripper

And what was that something fluttering?

Why, the snitch, of course.

As the golden ball swerved away from the stands (thankfully), Jake did too. He went into a dive, going down, down, down... Melanie, who still had the Quaffle under her arm, very nearly shouted at him to STOP. There was no need, though, because the seventh year came out of the dive in no time, holding the winged ball between his fingers as he rose again.

Question Five: What does Dumbledore leave Ron in his will?
