"Thanks," said Kelley, blushing slightly. "I'll watch out for them." She may be smart and pretty, but she was very modest and didn't really take compliments seriously.

"Treyen," she gave her friend a gentle nudge with her shoulder, though Sabel still held all of her attention. She just wanted nods of agreement, but she wasn't even sure Treyen knew what they were talking about since he was holding his own conversations. "Is staying in London too, and we made plans to do something in Daigon along with our other friend Aaron." They'd probably end up getting ice cream again, that just never got old in her eyes.
She shruged her shoulders lightly. "I don't even know if you know Aaron." And she wasn't necessarily inviting him since the trio did have some catching up to do, and it would just be boring for Sabel. "But you and I should do something fun in Daigon that day too." Arya smiled sweetly at him, she was so gonna fit everything in this summer.
Sabel's grin went from Arya to Treyen and then back again. "I have not me Aaron, but it sounds like a lot of fun. Don't get into too much mischief." He gave Arya a playful wink in teasing.
Thinking about the fact that both of the people she was speaking of were boys, or that those boys would be staying behind with her at Hogwarts while he left, was something he didn't allow himself to do. The conclusions he could draw about the future from such recognitions was painful and not something he wanted coming up; not now. Now, he was glad she had such good friends that she trusted. That she was happy, was all that mattered.
As for something that they could do together, that was enough excitement for himself to silence those previous thoughts. "Well...I do need help picking out an owl." He tilted his head. Did she care to exercise her sixth sense around animals with him?

Violet was about to go on telling Selina how Professor Vindictus didn't like her at all until she felt a tap on her shoulder. She stopped and then slowly turned her head looking up to see Chris, her boyfriend. She smiled brightly,"Hi Chris! Please sit!" Violet patted the seat next to her and smiled when he sat down, but after he sat down she noticed him only staring at his hands and tearing up pieces of bread. She slowly pushed some of her hair behind her ear and then she slowly reached her hand out placing it on his hand saying very softly,"Chris, are you alright?" Violet tried to make eye contact with him but his eyes were directed downward.
Christopher glanced over at Violet's hand, but said nothing. He continued to rip up the soft pieces of bread, before he finally looked up at Violet and her friend, not wanting to separate them just yet. But on the other hand, it could be the last time he ever saw her, and he really couldn't help but feel selfish, wanting to keep her all to himself. The two would have all the time in the world, when Christopher only had a few hours left with the tiny Hufflepuff.
He hesitated before speaking, finally looking into Violet's eyes. "Can I talk to you for a minute or two? Alone?" He cast an apologtic expression towards Selina and began to walk to a deserted section of the table, motioning for Violet to follow.
" Me Brit and Em started a tradition of giving charms to each outher, and I know how special you were to Em this year so I found this in an Antique shop in London" looking a little sheepish at giving such a Pink gift"Think of it from all of us," picking up his glass of milk to offer a toast " to the Griff's winning the House Cup and to you for winning the most points"
Kurumi's eyes widened when she saw that Michael, someone she had talked to several times, but not someone she knew all too well, was giving her a gift. Smiling nervously, she took the gift. "Thank you," she whispered not sure if she should be wearing something from another boy so quickly after everything that had happened. "It's lovely and Em is an important friend to me as well." Kurumi was rather sad that she hadn't seen the Hufflepuff girl around recently.
She then picked up her pumpkin juice. "And to Hufflepuffs for always being loyal and friendly." And sparkly smiles...

Selina could take a hint. Chris did not want her anywhere near Violet right now. It was fine with her, she had Violet to herself all summer when she came to stay. Right now Violet and Chris needed to talk. She just hoped that he did not try to be noble and break the little Veela's heart.
Kurumi's eyes widened when she saw that Michael, someone she had talked to several times, but not someone she knew all too well, was giving her a gift. Smiling nervously, she took the gift. Kurumi looked down at the charm on Michael's boot strap and she squeaked so loudly that it was a wonder the entire Hufflepuff table wasn't staring at her. "Is that..." she said pointing with an overly excited finger. "Is that a Common Welsh Green?! They have a distinctive and somewhat melodious roar you know." Kurumi's hands flew to her mouth. She was doing it again...babbling and giving a Care of Magical Creatures lecture when it probably wasn't wanted. "I mean...oooooh! A dragon!"

"Me? Mischief? We don't even belong in the same sentence." She teased with a playful smirk. Though really, who knew what they were really going to do with Aaron 'future ruler of the world'. Or something like that.
Her eyes lit up and her smirk turned to a wide smile at his suggestion. "WE should go and pick you out an owl!" Arya was just too excited. Not only did she get to go buy another pet, something she hadn't done in over a year, but she got to buy one for Sabel, who she was loving shopping for.
"We... could get you a barn owl, or maybe something bigger since you don't know where you'll be yet." She mused, slipping her arm around his so she could rest her head on his shoulder and continue her thoughts of owls. Was she getting ahead of herself? Just a bit, but only because he'd gotten her excited for their new shopping plans.

A mixture of a scoff and a chuckle left him as he rolled his eyes at her 'mischief' denial. "And the sun sets in the east."
With a grin and another shake of his head, he shifted his arm to wrap it around her waist, chewing on his bottom lip as he considered her words. "I was thinking of Tyto, but I guess we'll just have to see what's there." He couldn't say he was as thrilled as she was for buying a new pet, given he had just given up Merlin, but he wasn't going to dwell on that now. Things would be as they would be.

Two letters in one night! There had better be some mice still running around when he finished delivering this letter. If not he could always take one of the students yummy snacks before heading back to the post office.
Furmy flew aimlessly over the crowd of students once more, taking only a few minutes to locate the student that the letter was meant for. Slowly descending, he landed on the table beside the Sabel person with a little hop. His big black owl eyes fixed on the young man as he held out his leg that had a letter tied to it.
"Hooo."

Arya giggled, raised an eyebrow, and tilted her head up so that she was looking at him with a playful expression. "What, are you saying? I'm mischievous?" It sure wouldn't be a lie.
She shifted closer to him when he moved his arm, head settling just under his own. "They have a lot there, owls. I'm sure there's one there that's for you." If not, they could certainly find another shop that sold owls. Speaking of owls, her brown eyes flicked to the cute little thing that landed on the table beside Sabel, a smile spreading across her face. "Maybe one like him. He's cute."
Sabel probably wasn't looking for cute, but she certainly was factoring that into the owl equation. Reaching out, she gave the owl loving pats on the head. "I think the letter is for you."

"Nawww. Not mischevious." If he had a free hand he would have tapped a finger against his lip in thought. "Devious with innocent intent geared towards maximum enjoyment maybe. But not mischievous."
His grin went to her briefly before his attention was yanked to the side by a flutter of feathers and wings. A slow knot worked its way from his gut into his throat at the sight of the owl, and for a long moment he just stared at it. Licking his lips slowly, he nodded a slight fraction to Arya's words. While he would have hoped it, the owl didn't seem to be trying to offer its leg to anyone else. Unless there was someone standing behind him.
A quick glance over his shoulder dismissed the probability and forced him to slowly retrieve the letter from the creature. A weak smile and scratch to the side of the neck was given to the fluff ball before his eyes went down to the parchment, unfolding it slowly.
And then everything stopped. Every sound and every perceived movement.
Why hadn't he told her sooner?

“Well,” Kurumi said scratching her head. “I was planning on going back to the kitchens after the feast and bake some more for the trip. Walnut gets rather…catty…when he is hungry.”
Did she really just call her cat catty?
Kurumi was clearly devoted to her pet, wasn't she? It's not like Treyen wasn't, he DID have a letter that made him sound like the perfect caregiver for any creature, BUT...he didn't think about Thaddeus food on the train. Then again, the Knarl is very picky about food and as long as he ate before leaving then it'll be okay.
The boy wanted to tell Kurumi that she should rest instead of bake, but chances were she was going to bake either way. And, she seemed to enjoy her time doing so, therefore, no problem.
"Well, he IS a cat." He chuckled and then looked back at his cupcake, "I know what I may be eating on the train, though." He couldn't eat ALL that tonight, soooo....

And Aaron too! She hadn't seen him since last summer. Forever and a lifetime ago it seemed. "I'll send him letters too, I'll use two owls if I have to." She would if it meant getting to hang with her friends outside of school.
When Treyen had turned his attention to the professor, Arya did the same, and the once again became lost in her own thoughts. Soon even her kneazle had left her in search of one of his play buddies. All of whom she was certain were in their cages. Like he should be...
She watched him wonder off with a thoughtful expression.

Oh, she said 'here', and she must've been talking about England, though, technically they weren't there...yet.
"Yes, do that, I have to owl him when I get home anyway." His first letter once he got home was going to be for Emalyn, though, and then the second for Aaron, and then a third one for Rae. Oh! Rae! The address! His eyes wandered off to the Slytherin table as he thought of it, and then back to Arya, "Just...don't mention him about YOU being right about certain things." That would be Treyen's job, yes?
Nod. Nod. Sabel. Smile. Grin. Nudge. Eyebrow raised. "I...didn't say that I'll be staying in London...I'll be staying in Dorset instead of Appleby, BUT London is a couple seconds away by Apparition or Floo." Just getting some facts straight over here, no big deal.
And then he lost track of the conversation between Arya and Sabel when...oh, Simon!...

He hoped that Treyen wouldn't be too mad at him it was only a joke.
His eyes widened at the sight of the book, he could still remember as if it had happened yesterday that particular day in which he got the book. Such an excited almost-first year he was. Though, he kind of still was.
"YOU had it all this time?!" Of course, he didn't know for how long Simon had kept it, but still.
Wait. Even? What for? Oh.
"Thank you for giving it back, though," he said, taking the book away from Simon and holding it against him. Oh, book, you've been missed, and clearly, not needed. The boy practically knew it by memory. "Me? Nothing out of the ordinary, you know, studying and such." Roasting marshmallows with Arya, jumping from that amazingly-big rock on the lake with Rae. Just the usual.

Arya nodded her head. She would owl him as soon as she got to Nikolaos' apartment. And no mentioning of Ellie in any way? "Gotcha... our secret." As in she wouldn't be telling anyone unless he gave her permissions. Totally awesome secret keeper she was.
She shrugged her shoulders lightly. "Close enough....but I meant England." Which is where she was staying. And then she lost track of the conversation he was having with everyone else around them. She'd catch him when they got on the train or with that awesome owl of hers though.

"I like the sound of that." So much that she stored it away in her memory in case someone ever thought to call her mischievous. Not that that had ever happened, but one should always be prepared.
She watched the little owl fly away with a small smile, knowing that breed of owl wouldn't suit Sabel, but unable to stop herself from wondering if he'd like a little owl instead of a large one. It was his reaction to the owl, and his not responding to her comments that had her glancing up at him, smile faltering as her expression changed to one of slight worry.
"Who is it from?" And did she want to know.

He didn't hear much of what was going on around him, much less catch Treyen's smile and nods. Despite his attempt to force them to stillness, his hands had took up a trembling based in a mixture of emotions.
It was only when Arya asked him directly who the letter was from, that his mind clued in to movement and response. Quietly, he offered the parchment to her, watching her carefully out of the corners of his eyes. Probably not the most strategic way to break news to someone.

"Well, he IS a cat." He chuckled and then looked back at his cupcake, "I know what I may be eating on the train, though." He couldn't eat ALL that tonight, soooo....
“Walnut thinks he is more than just a cat though,” she said giggling softly. “I think he thinks he is King of the Gryffindor Common Room.”
It had only been last night that he had chased every first year off one of the couches just so he could lie across it stretched out from front paws to the tip of his tail. There was also his habit of sitting on one of the tables nearest the door and watching people as they came in and out of the room. He would sometimes nod approvingly at some, growl in a low rumble at others, and even chase some back up into the dormitory if he didn’t think their robes were on properly.
Yep…Walnut was certainly a character.
She blushed again as the conversation went back to the cupcake at its massive wings. “Eating all that may make you more hyper than a Slytherin,” she laughed before covering her mouth with her hands. “S-S-S-Sorry, that was rather rude of me.”

She was worrying more now, about the letter, and about him. Reaching up she took hold of one of his hands in hopes to keep it from trembling, eyes searching his hoping to get some answer from the lion.
When she got nothing, she turned her attention back to the letter he was offering her, a bit hesitant to take just by his reactions. She skimmed the letter first, then slowly reread it twice, a frown setting into her features as the words sunk in and she comprehended exactly what this meant. "Your going to be an auror...?" She spoke in a quiet tone, her eyes never leaving the letter in her hands as a mixture of emotions ran through her.

He didn't take his eyes from her, and kept his hand lose even as hers took hold of it. There was a hard twist to his gut as he watched her read the letter, and then reread it again. A nervous apprehension sinking into his gut at the frown that developed on her expression.
"Yes..." His response was quiet, almost careful. Deep down, a part of him knew that it had been a long time in coming, but at the same time, he had hoped for a different reaction. One of a bit more excitement. Maybe. Even he wasn't sure anymore.

There was a bit of nodding. Good thing his best friend understood their code, though, it wasn't much of a code since she'd been right about...er, almost everything, including what she said in Arithmancy, but still...she understood.
Once everything with Arya was settled, Treyen loosened the grip on HIS book, not Simon's. The book wasn't going anywhere other than his luggage, but he didn't have to hold onto it as if the thing was going to escape at any second.
Now...say what, Kurumi?

He couldn't help but laugh, for his previous comment could totally be said for these other comments about Walnut as well. See, the cat was a sort-of-close relative to the lion, and Gryffindor's animal was a lion. Well, they may not be as closely related, really, but they were felines, nonetheless.
Deciding it was best to skip that part, and once he was done with the laughter, Treyen spoke again, "You know who's fault that is, don't you?" and there was the slightest hint of a smirk on his face.
This time he failed to notice the blush, or made up his mind not to notice it, and then widened his eyes a bit as she oh-so-openly declared something for Slytherins. But...Sierra wasn't a hyper kid...not while they worked together, that is. That one seemed pretty grounded...unlike...Destiny.
But Destiny knew non-verbals, so, she was cool.
"Oh, but sugar doesn't affect me," he was naturally hyper when he wanted, haha, "It's just...well...I don't think I could eat it in one sitting." Yes, that was true. For a boy, Treyen didn't eat THAT much. Actually, Arya ate more than he did, and more times a day. "And...I don't think that was rude...unless someone thinks 'hyper' is wrong." And he didn't.

Arya didn't know how to feel, or react to this new bit of information. This was the first she'd heard of it, as far as she'd known, he was going into ITF. Sure they'd talked about him not going into the task force, but that had only been once and was a very brief conversation. Never did she think he would go into aurorship.... didn't think it suited him as well as ITF did.
So she refused to let any emotions show except for the frown already set into her features. The frown that spoke more of the confusion she couldn't hide than anything. "I thought... I thought you wanted to go into the task force. I thought that's what you wanted." She placed the letter on the table and smoothed it out, more to busy her hands than anything. "Why the change?" She needed to know. Needed to know why he was settling for what she thought was something less, and more importantly needed confirmation that she wasn't that reason.
