But this was different, not only was she eating with Sabel, but it was early, which meant the hall would be all but devoid of students and professors. Which was perfect since she still didn't want any company excluding creatures and Sabel. Pausing in the door way, she let her eyes glide around the great hall before tugging Sabel to the huffie table, sliding onto the bench as she released his hand. "The best thing about arriving to meals so early, we get the first pick of everything." And not crowded benches, or sticky fingered first years. |

The second was that they were at the Hufflepuff table. For a moment he stood there, blinking at the grain of the table. "I've never sat the the Hufflepuff table before." His face wrinkled a little as he glanced up and then over at the other house tables. "Or Slytherin for that matter." Not that he could immediately remember anyways. With a one-shouldered shrug, he plopped himself down at the table and cast his eyes along it's length. "Well, everything is good and all, but where are the chocolate chip waffles?" Or pancakes. It didn't really matter to him at the moment. |
Quote:
Letting her eyes settle back on the food in front of her, she narrowed her brow as she searched and search and searched until.....ah ha! "Found them!" They were FAR away though. Flicking her wrist, she caught her wand as it slid out of her holster and cast at the waffles, levitating them closer until she was able to reach out and take the plate with her hand. Assuming he wanted chocolate chip waffles, she pilled two on both his and her plates with a grin before setting the platter down in front of them. "Now...we need syrup..." Cause waffles without syrup just weren't the same. |

A wink and chuckle had him searching for the syrup, spotting it a few spots down from them. Planting his hands on the bench to either side of himself, he shuffled down to retrieve the syrup and then shuffled back, placing it between them. "Then again, walking does take some effort doesn't it?" |
Quote:
Biting her bottom lip softly to keep from giggling again, she watched him as he did a funny shuffle to retrieve the syrup. "Walking does take a lot of effort. Effort I don't care to put forth so early in the day." Taking the syrup, she began to pour it on her waffles. "Plus I'm only allowed to use magic in school, so I have to take advantage of the many opportunities I have before summer comes and I back to doing things muggle style." |
Quote:
Straightening as she finished, he proceeded to copy her and pour a healthy amount of syrup over his own food. "Though, with that perspective about walking and early mornings, it makes me wonder how you got up to the Owlery." Placing the syrup in front of them, he blinked for a moment at his plate before offering her a playful grin. "And why you only gave me two waffles if this growing boy needs to put on some weight." |
Effy sat down at the Hufflepuff table and piled some food onto her plate after pouring herself a cup of tea. She glanced around to see if anyone she knew was nearby, and after not immediately seeing anyone, she returned began to eat her food in silence. |
Quote:
When she finished, she handed the syrup over to Sabel, watching him pour his own before reaching for a knife and fork. A light shrug coming from her shoulders. "Hadn't seen my owl in a while...and I knew the owlery would be empty, so it was worth the long walk." She loved being around the other huffies, and even the house elves when in the kitchens, but for some reason, she felt the need to be away from others except owls. And Sabel. Of course. Rolling her eyes playfully, she nudged him gently with her elbow. "You can always get more when your done with those, silly." A grin crossed her lips as she started cutting her waffles. "You just can't grow taller anymore, it'll be harder to give you a proper hug if you do." |

Sighing, he drew his fork from the table and pronged Arya's waffle, hijacking it onto his plate with a wide grin as he sat upright once again. "Outwards it is then!" |
Quote:
"Hey!" It came out as a playful protest as she watched her well-syrup-ed waffle travel to his plate "That's MY waffle, baby Ent." She poked him in the side again, taking her fork and sticking it back into the waffle he stole. "Gonna need more than one to grow outwards." |

"And second..." His eyes went cross-eyed for a moment as a goofy grin pulled onto his expression. A moment later he had chopped the head of the fork into his mouth. That was what he was going to do about plate-thievery. |
Quote:
Before she could give him another tap on the nose to finalize his punishment, he had taken hold of the fork and had her biting her lip again to keep from giggling. "Stealing my fork and my plate," she very lightly wiggling the fork, careful not to harm him. "Treebeard will not be pleased." And since she apparently had a free hand, she used it to poke him again. |
