Sarassi totally forgot that they were supposed to be in partners..She wrote really, really, really, slow! Sarassi saw her twin and walked over to their group and said Do you mind if I join in your disscussion? I wasnt really paying attention...

Emmaleigh gave a shrug. "It doesn't matter." She looked back up at the board and read what they had to do. "Right, so I guess the first thing we need to do is figure out what everyone's opinion on the Statue is. Personally, I think its rather important to keep the muggle and wizarding worlds separate. What about you guys?" she asked.

Emily looked up as another Ravenclaw approached them. Instantly she noticed the striking resemblence between her and Nerida.
"Hey, yeah sure", she said smiling, pulling up a chair for her.

Whoaa. Helena just looked at him as he started speaking... and speaking... And she was confused now. "The most violent ones? Do you think there's going to be some kind of war?" Okay, stupid question. But she was still really confused.


Helena giggled when she heard his opinion about the Statute. Well... he had a point, didn't he?

"really I think it would be more of a case of saying nice blastendded screwt as you look for your wand ,they wont do any thing until they know who is frind and who is foe,loads of laws will be passed on both side but I dont think there will ever be a full intergratin" at the worst they might try and make it so they could have anti magic areas of the world

Kurumi nodded as she listened to Helena speak. Kurumi agreed that it probably wouldn’t make her angry, but she would be mortified at the fact that she had been so blind.

Kurumi bowed her head at Jake when he came to their table. She had only met him briefly over the summer at the party where she had mistaken Professor Bishop for his mother. Kurumi’s cheeks turned bright pink at remembering that incident. Hopefully no one would misinterpret the action. Just to be safe, Kurumi covered her cheeks with her hands and leaned her elbows on the table. “You are welcome to, Jake,” Kurumi smiled bowing her head again slightly.



Kurumi’s thoughts about Salander’s response to her Area 51 subject were distracted by Professor Welton writing their homework on the board. The first three questions were simple enough, but when it came to the longer question Kurumi felt like taking her textbook and whacking herself in the face with it several times – well, at least until she was unconsciousness. This discussion about the Statute was causing her more stress than classes were, not to mention making her reexamine her entire relationship with her mother and those who had tortured her all through her years prior to coming to Hogwarts. Kurumi giggled at Salander’s outburst at the homework. “[b]I agree[/s],” Kurumi said nodding. “The current Statute was established in 1692 and the world is a very different place from what is was back then. There are no more witch burnings or people being punished in such terrible fashions. Personally, I think it is a disgrace to those who died during the Second Wizarding War due to the acts of Dark Wizards as being dismissed as accidents caused by the weather or a loose screw on a bridge.” Sure, that would also mean that non-magical people would in turn be deathly afraid of everything magical, but there were evil people in the world who didn’t have magical powers. It was unfair to lump all witches and wizards into the Dark category just because Voldemort and his followers were among those.

"Yeah, that is right, the muggle is very persistent in harassing people, they will definitely give that wizardkind a very discomfort feeling, the statute will be strengthen the distance on muggle-wizard separation" hooha, that very long

K-Lee thought for a moment. "I think it's important that it keeps them separated, but has areas where it can be improved, such as us not being able to help them for deadly problems they have that we fix with a flick of our wands. If we were able to help them more, if they were to ever find out they may a little more nicer to us."

Insert deep breath here.

Jake rocked back and forth on his chair, smiling blissfully around. "I am in mixed minds about the statute," he said, making sure that the chair right beside him was free for Neptune.

That was all he really said on the matter... he was busy writing down the homework and not so subtley answering the questions like RIGHT. THEN.

"It depends" Emily stated "I mean, most half blood families have gotten along, but what about those people that leave their partners because of their magical ability?" She knew about that alright.
"The statue is there for a reason. I don't see why we should get rid of it now. It's worked fine for all these years, why get rid of it now?"

Sooo...Finlay kinda needed a group, because well he was kind of behind, and needed to like join in again. He glanced around the room, trying to find someone that he was pretty sure wouldn't mind him joining in. Mmm. There was Neptune, and he knew that she wouldn't mind him jumping in. soo....that was exactly what he was going to do.

"You know..." Finn musd, coming up behind the little group. "Burning people isn't very nice Tuney." He grinned at her. "And I agree with you lot about the statute not working. I mean....it would need updating to get it to work now right?"

"Well I know that, Finny." Neptune's tone all but said DUHHHHHHHHHHH. "That's what I'm saying. Muggles weren't very nice back then, and if in this imaginary scenario that we rid ourselves of the silly statute, and a muggle reverts back to trying to burn US.... well we're educated now. I'd just burn them back. Not like they could say anything. Fair's fair." Neptune was perhaps, maybe mostly for show, being overtly haughty.

But ... giggle... Finny knew her. He'd know from the teensy sparkle in her eyes that she wasn't being COMPLETELY serious.

Just mostly serious.

..Neptune would have Randal or Jake burn a muggle for trying to burn her. Duh.

*Matty rubbed the back of his neck and nodded.*
"True... It just seems like letting the muggles know about our world would just create more problems then solve any."

"I think that the only reason someone would leave their family because they are wizards would be because they are afraid of being associated with 'being different' I don't think that would happen if all the wizards reveal themselves because then they would see that a lot of people are different and that it's kinda cool to be 'different'. And I think that if we do get rid of this don't-speak-don't-tell rule then maybe we could help our world." Nika nodded happy with her answer. She then turned over to Annabelle, "What do you think Annabelle?"

Belle giggled. "I loved your opinion because that is what everyone would say, even my parents would." she said. "I mean we all shouldn't be selfish in this world because that is leading to prejudice." she shrugged.

Annabelle was listining to their opinions very intently. "Hmm well.." she pondered. "I agree with both of your statements, but i think if we do get rid of the don't speak don't tell rule, it could cause some tension between relationships. Like if you are with your boyfriend and he found you were a witch, he might have second thoughts about it and call you a freak." she said. "That is what happened to my cousin, she accidentally let it slip and she got expelled and now she doesn't have a boyfriend anymore." she said timidly. "But i think it does have to deal with fear and wondering what to do when you have a secret." she shrugged.

"Well in my experience, I've found telling secrets is never a good thing. I've lost friends and family because of them." Yep, she had.
"But my question is why is their talk of getting rid of the statue now? It's strange it's lasted all these years and suddenly they're thinking about getting rid of it."

Nika listened to both Annabelle and Emily before speaking. "Well Emily I think that maybe they are wondering about it now because we are starting to have more and more problems all over the world everyday. And maybe people are just starting to think how we can potentially help if we are all working together."

Nerida smiled at her sister and scotted her chair over..She turned to her other partners and said To the issue of should the Statue still be in use now, I say it should for another reason of over using witches and wizards, they would automatically think that we could cure everything sicknesses, beauty probkems, overweightness, and money issues...
She looked down at her notes at the homework and began wondering what she was going to write for them..

"Dont you think if we did it real slow that laws on both side could get caught up both would be hepled "but who would need to go first "think about how computers could help track blood lines or let them do spell research they dont do it now because they dont know what to look for "

Sierra paused for a moment and then shrugged her shoulders. "I've been paying about as much attention to the lesson as you have," she admitted with a laugh. Although, she hadn't been asleep. She'd just been daydreaming--about sleeping. After history class, she really wanted to return to the common room, sprawl out across her bed, and sleep for a few hours.

"For it...against it...and what would happen if we did or didn't keep it," Sierra suggested, although, that was really just a guess. At least if they were on topic, they wouldn't get caught not participating in the lesson. Merlin knew they didn't need to lose anymore points at this point.

"So I wonder what would happen if it was no longer in effect. In another class, we talked about how the muggles burned us at the stake years and years ago before the Statute was in effect," Sierra thought aloud. "Maybe we're better prepared this go round, though..."

She definitely had her opinions on if they didn't keep the Statute, and she wasn't about to change them any time soon. Even with all the talk this year about the Statute and muggles, and even if everyone was being all 'muggles are just like us'. Pfft.

However, Sierra had raised up a good point. "Perhaps we are." she agreed, tapping her quill on her desk, still feeling the effects of her little nap. "Then again, like that Security dude had said, times have changed. This is a different time period, we have many new things, new traditions, dreams, laws, ways of how we go about things…However, I do know for a fact that a lot of people still think the same way they did years ago. Not all, but some. How do we know that the muggle world isn't going to just..." Throw them all on a lab table and find out what made them all magical!

"Witch burnings, Sierra! Muggles aren't right in the mind. They're…evil." Take the tellimission muggle box for example. Yea, she still secretly thought it turned people into muggles. Created BY the muggles too. Just went to show that they're not right! "We may be prepared, well...most... but I don't think the muggle world is."

"Maybe but it might take years. And even then we would still have some people sore about wizards and everything."

Evelyn's discussion was almost like a political speech--what with all that talk about changes, traditions, dreams, and laws. Sierra even found herself sitting up a bit taller as she listened carefully and took in every word the older girl was saying. If Evelyn was running for Minister, she'd definitely have Sierra's vote. The younger Slytherin nodded a few times in reply.

"I don't know if the muggle world is prepared for us either. I mean, they've been taught---for a really long time--that our world only exists as something they call fantasy, and that pretty much means made up," she added. "Besides, to them, magic is just a trick that you can learn. I think they'd all want to learn the things we know how to do--and they just can't."

"So do you think they'll really take away the Statute?" she asked. "I mean, all of our classes are now pretty much focused on muggles. It sounds like they're serious about it..."

Annabelle agreed with Nika. "Maybe the ministry didn't think the issue was as bad as it is now." she interjected. "I mean with the Dark Lord back and all, i mean some tension and taking actions is what they are doing now." she shrugged. "I mean some actions can be quite stupid come to think of it." she laughed.
