Spreading all her Transfiguration notes across her desk, Kurumi took out her wand and re-read the instructions she had taken on the Comletia spell. Before coming down from the dormitory, Kurumi had brought a few of her ice cream sandwich erasers with her to practice on since she did not carry anything like a pocket watch with her. Picking up one of them in her hand, she set the others to the side and just stared at it for a few moments. Okay, so clearly this was going to be a little different than a pocket watch, but rubbery eraser was easier to transfigure, wasn't it? Worst-case scenario was that the desk was going to be covered in cookie eraser goo. She could clean that up easily enough.

Deciding that it would probably be a better idea to put everything on the floor except for the eraser she was trying to transfigure and left that in the center of the desk. Now, for the motion. She couldn't believe she hadn't realized it during class, but the motion wasn't so much of a cross as it was drawing the four directions. She had even learned a handy little phrase to help remember directions from a first year: Never Eat Soggy Waffles. Easy enough, she didn't really want to eat soggy waffles in the first place.

Picking up her wand with her right hand, Kurumi performed the appropriate wand motion, north to south, west to east and then poked the middle. "Comletia!" she squeaked as she watch the eraser begin to glow a bit. Something began to smell, well, like she had burnt cookies a few times over. Oh, that wasn't good. Looking down at the eraser, Kurumi saw that it was bubbling like boiling water. Ew...totally gross. Then, there was a loud POP! just like she had heard in class and a few bits of gooey eraser splattered her in the face. Still, when she looked down she saw a very old, and perhaps a little rusty, compass on her desk. Hey, at least she hadn't set the desk on fire, right?

Anna heard a pop. Oh my god! A girl next to her had just blown up an eraser. So she had to state the obvious. "Oh my god. You just blew up an eraser. Are you okay. Why did it blow up!?" Really she had to think to herself 'it went poof!!!!!'

Spitting a few bits of eraser from her mouth, Kurumi looked to her left when she heard a frantic voice speaking to her.

"M-M-M-Me?" Kurumi said pointing to herself and feeling her cheeks flush a bit. "I-I-I-I'm fine," she continued as she waved her hands in front of her face. See, hands were still there which clearly meant that she was fine. "I-I-I'm just practicing Comletia for Transfiguration homework. I'm using erasers," she explained finally getting over her shock as she held up one of the remaining ones. "You are welcome to practice with me if you want." Kurumi thought she had seen this girl in class, but she wasn't really sure since she had been too concerned about trying not to melt her pocket watch.

Kurumi now returned her attention to the compass that she had successfully transfigured. Sure, it wasn't the prettiest nor the most complicated, but it was a completed compass nonetheless. Okay, now time to do it again and, hopefully, the next one wouldn't look so rusty.

Picking up cookie eraser number two, this time one of the chocolate looking ones, Kurumi set the first compass to the side and set the new eraser in the middle of the desk. Repeating the wand movement, Kurumi said, "Comletia!" with just a little extra umpth and perhaps jabbing a little too strongly with her wand. The eraser began to glow and, to Kurumi's slight horror, began to melt.

Kurumi had already semi-blown up an eraser, now she was going to have eraser pudding on her desk. Leaning forward to take a closer look at the liquefied object, Kurumi was happy to see that it was not staying that way, but was beginning to change shape.

There was another loud POP! - Kurumi really needed to figure out how to make that stop because she gasped every time - she was happy to see that a new compass sat on her desk. No rust this time, and the center was a bit more complicated than the first one, but still not as sophisticated as she would have liked.

Picking up eraser number three, Kurumi looked at it and sighed. "I am going to have too many compasses than I know what to do with by the end of this."

Raven saw his big sister Kurumi, try not to pester her, or else, she trow you a bunch of cookie. he need assistance in making a thing called assignment heh.

"Hello, Kurumi, what are you doin'" Raven say ay he greeted. Placing his things on the nearest chair

Kurumi smacked her head against the desk in exhaustion. Transfiguration was going to kill her. Death by compass, what a sad way to go. She looked up when she heard Raven's voice. "Hi, Raven," she said in tone like someone who had just run the marathon. "Just, you know, doing homework," she sighed taking out her wand again and poking one of her ice cream sandwich erasers with it. "Transfiguration to be exact. Have you started it? We have to transfigure five different types of compasses. I've managed to get three done..." and she hadn't even blown up the study table yet! Although, there were still bit of eraser here and there.

Raven heard homework, his head becoming blank, he try to say something about it but no voices been out. now for the true reason maybe
"Transfiguration, compass, oh, yes, didn't started yet, wondering how to do. no idea, ideally" Raven say, his eyes focused in left, he didn't want to contact Kurumi's eyes.

"the one I finish is only potion for dragon" Raven add, just to say something.

Kurumi smiled and rolled up her robe's sleeves. "Well, we can try doing it together. I am by no means an expert on this spell. I nearly blew up two of my erasers," she laughed handing one to Raven for him to use. "So, for review, you first draw a sort of cross in the air with your wand, top to bottom, left to right. Next, you carry that through to a small circle shape finished by a gentle jab towards whatever you are trying to change. In our case, erasers," she explained before doing it herself. Time to think of a compass. She had managed to make a cover last time, so now perhaps it was time to try for a totally different shape.

She remembered a compass one of her classmates had brought for show-and-tell one day in elementary school back in Japan. It had been a sort of clip on type of compass with a red handle and then some cartoon drawings on the inside instead of the standard N for North variation. Trying to remember as many details as she could, Kurumi gazed at her eraser with very focussed violet eyes. "Comletia!" she chirped. No giant bubble, no melting, no explosions, just lots of smoke this time. Had she started a fire?! Was the table, no, the entire common room going to go up in flames!

Kurumi fell over backwards in her chair as more smoke bellowed out from the eraser. It smelt strangely like strawberries and cream. Weird. Perhaps a good thing, but very weird. Then the loud POP! noise that Kurumi had come to expect was heard and the smoke vanished just as quickly as it had appeared. Kurumi peeked over the back of her chair to see that her eraser had, someone, successfully been transformed into a compass.

"See....just like that," Kurumi said with her hair looking like she had stuck her finger in an electric socket. At least she had compass number four, right?

"WOW!" Raven eyes widened in amazement.
"You produce a very nice one Kurumi" Raven say.
Raven hand is reaching the eraser Kurumi gave, he study in how thing thing become a compass, i make a watch a compass but it's metal". he drew his wand, feel the breeze the wand always give to him.
"Okay, let try to make some compasses" Raven say full of courage and dignity. "let do the cross and circling with job job" Raven add.
His hand moving the usual, tracing the cross from top to bottom, left to right, circle, snappy job "Comletia" there a pop, a compass appears?!? "--err, where the compass", the eraser become a solid metal not a compass. Raven grin, he didn't want to do it, revert it and try again.
Raven tapped the metal in the table, swish-flick "Reverto" popped the eraser, thank Minister it's reverted.
now for the real compass, make it nice Raven at once. concentrate.
Raven do the wand movement more serious than before "Comletia" there a loud pop and the real compass appeared in front of him, time to study. "ohh, thats good" Raven grin to Kurumi

Kurumi smiled at Raven. "Great job! I think you are picking this spell up fast than I am," she laughed nervously as she flicked a bit of eraser off the desk. "So, you need to transfigure four more, each one a little more complicated than the last one," she explained reading over her notes she had taken from the homework announcement. "So, just try to keep picturing something a little more fancy." Like, maybe putting a bow on it. Could you make a compass dance and sing? That would be pretty amusing if you could, but Kurumi wasn't sure that she could manage that at the moment. She was having a hard enough time not melting the desk as it was.

Picking up one more eraser and setting it in the middle of the desk. Kurumi tried to think of a way to make her next, and final, compass even more intricate. She remembered seeing compasses that were not flat, but more like a ball floating on water. Maybe it was called a ball compass. Kurumi closed her eyes as she repeated the wand motions one final time before snapping them opening and saying, "Comletia!" At the last moment, an image of her cat, Walnut, appeared in her head. Oh dear, now she really was going to blow up the desk...

Thankfully, there were no massive amounts of smoke, just the eraser glowing brightly for a brief moment before it's shape morphed right on the spot without any real complications. Blinking several times not able to believe her luck, Kurumi looked at the compass sitting on her desk and laughed. Who knew that you could make a compass in the shape of a cat? She would have to thank Walnut later for inspiring her.

Kurumi picked up the compass to examine it. Hey! It even had a neat little suction cup bottom. That was pretty handy.

"WOW" just "WOW" Raven mount is fell into the table, "what a compass you transfigured" Raven say, "d-d-d-do you expect me to copy that, Hmm" Raven add, struck.

Raven took another compass, think of some feature in his compass, it must be different in the later, "Comletia" a loud bang in a smoke, appear another compass. "Yay, it's look like my wall clock in my home" Raven smile, look like I'm missing my bedroom

"You don't have to copy what I do," Kurumi laughed tapping her cat compass on the head. "I expect you to be creative and come up with your own unique compass." Myabe he could make an owl compass if he thought of his owl. Did that mean that it would fly? Kurumi would rather like to see that. Kurumi waved her hand in front of her face a bit to blow some of the smoke away. "Well, this is a start. Maybe thinking of more things from home will help you come up with another compass."

Raven grin widely, what else he may produced next, his magic seem can produce a very nice one, depending in what in his head, Kurumi say, even a singing or talking may conjure, Raven thinks of something special he didn't want an ordinary compass, think of something fancy, decorative or likely unique one, "comletia" and there is smoke before Raven see another compass. Raven is a bit disappoint in this kind. "well, what do you think, isn't that alright" Raven ask, hiding his feeling

Kurumi smiled at the little lion. She had to admit, she was very impressed with his second attempt at a compass. It was, well, fancy looking and even came with a box! “It’s very good Raven,” she nodded. “Much better than my second attempt.” She held up her first two attempts that were either rusty or overly simple. "Since you seemed to have mastered the earth tones when it comes to the color of your compass, maybe try to make one that is brightly colored?" she suggested handing him another eraser.

Raven smile back "that my third cookie sister" Raven say grinning.
now Raven must think of something he love to do before he knew he was wizard. Kurumi say colorful, but I love black very much, modification is a key. timing is necessary. Raven experimenting after all, out of surprise his mind is ready looking at a black thing, he always watch in muggle television "comletia" there a pop in the smoke and here the compass he produce.

Perfect for me, nice color, very nice in camouflage. Raven grin to Kurumi. "Will you lend me one more eraser, please, I'm ready for the last one" Raven ask

Kurumi handed Raven another eraser. Good thing she had collected all these as a child. She practically had a small shoe box filled to the top with erasers of all different shapes and food types - and a few that lookes like hamsters. "Here you go," she said dropping it into his hand. "You have to really concentrate on this last one. Make it your best one yet," she explained probably stating the obvious to him.

Raven feel the necessity to produce a real fancy one, but his stubborn head is something in him. he took the eraser feel it and think of the famous swiss army knife --the knife he always wanted to buy. this is the last one, make it better or else, Kurumi and the professor will whacked you to hospital at very least.
Raven closed his eyes, imagining the swiss army knife and his hand move deliberately criss-crossng, circling, and a job, like the stab the eraser before he loudly said "Comletia" there is the usual pop and smoke, and Raven grin from ear to ear when he saw his last compass, holding it and study, "Yay, I have you, Haha"

Raven wink and look to Kurumi, "Isn't that great, isn't it" Raven ask

Kurumi picked up Raven's newest compass and just gawked at it as if they had just made some great discovery. What had he just transfigured? Was this really a compass? It looked like the Swiss army knife of all compasses. What did everything do? Maybe he had just made a compass that could sing and dance. "It's, wow, very impressive," Kurumi said still finding herself unable to blink. "What all does it do?" You know, besides pointing magnetic North.

Raven smile to Kurumi, he didn't answered the question, he is also struck out by that compass, after all he is just tired, making two assignment in a row, he just sat down and making no noises. his head is full of images of everything but he at least produce a fancy real compasses.

beside he is likely doing the Runes assignment later today or maybe early tomorrow. "ei, Kurumi sister, how about a cookie compasses in my hand, I know you're always have" Raven say jokingly

"You mean transfigure your compass into food? You know that goes against Gamp's Law of Elemental Transfiguration," she said with a gentle smile. "I haven't been able to bake a new batch since I have been trying to finish this homework assignment."

aww, bad timing, no cookie today, depressed, slight.

Raven grin, "It's okay I'll go then to the kitchen."
Raven say. "Bye, bye, Kurumi, my belly needs some food" Raven added before he pick compasses, and place it his bag, time to sneak in the kitchen.

Kurumi began gathering up her own books and parchment, along with all five of her compasses and put them all in her bag. She probably should revert all the compasses back to her erasers, but she rather liked her final compass and thought she could perhaps enchant it to stick to her bookbag so she would always know what direction she was going. "Alright," she said as she slung her bag over her shoulder. "I'll catch you later then. Ask for Twinkle in the kitchens, she makes the best late night snacks."

Anna nodded. "Well, I might just give it a try." She repeated the wand gesture (and failed miserably) and said "Comletia!". And the eraser started smoking and swelling. She looked at it with wide eyes. Oh no! Oh no! "Do you think it might explode?" She said prodding it with her wand. This couldn't be good.

"Reverto!" Kurumi commanded taking her wand out of its sheath and waving it all in one fluid movement. There was no way she was going to deal with more eraser bits all over the desks, especially since she had just finished cleaning up her first mistake.

Jacqueline finally found a free seat near the window. Everyone was studying hard,so she was very quite. She took her books out, flipped through some pages,and just got in the reading. Deeply. She also had a piece of paper for some quick,useful notes. Time for homework and studying!!!!!!!
