That or she was just born that way but he wasn't going to bring it up because Greer was cute, and so she could get away with being a little weird. "Well...that's nice then." He was about to tell her to continue on with her sighing, but it was obvious that Greer didn't need to be told to do stuff, especially when she already had her mind set on sighing.

Legend eyed the second year as she asked him the most random question. Was it illegal to smile? NOPE. So he didn't see what was so wrong with it. Maybe she was just in one of those little girl tantrum moods when they hated when everyone around them was happy. "Actually, I find not doing my homework that amusing. At least for now. You know until I get into class and have to deal with, Welton." Stupid, History of Magic. No one liked you! "Plus I don't silently mock people!....I only judge them a bit in my head." He grinned obviously joking. "So what's up with you, why are you in such a sighing mood young one." Little apprentice Greer who HE was the boss of.

Greer raised from her seat and hopped on the table. Soon, she was sitting cross legged on top of it, hands laced together on her lap and staring at Legend Chosen. "That's not very nice of you, Legend Chosen," McKensie pointed out candidly. "But I s'ppose it's better than judging them to their faces. That would just be plain rude," she concluded, her scottish accent sounding thicker in the end of her sentence.

"Who is Welton?" She implied rather rhetorically, for she wasn't expecting an answer. Instead, the young Gryffindor went on talking. "Mum says it was bound to happen, the entire moody thing you're mentioning." Enthusiastically, the golden-haired pubescent nodded. "Hormones and puberty, she says. It all sounded very boring while she said so I got distracted with my own braids."

It had taken him a bit to find Merlin after the fiasco in the dormitory, and lots of pets and snuggles to make up for the fright his cat seemed intent on holding him responsible for. And given he had 'destroyed' the creature's play time, it was now his responsibility to make up for it.

So, he had found residence at one of the study tables tucked away in the corner of the room, and set up a small area of confinement on the top of the table using the spines of several books place together. Within the small arena, he had placed an empty toilet paper roll and a marble. The later of the two was being contentedly batted about the space by Merlin, who had found purpose in perching himself on one of the books and using the crafted arena to his content. The endearing aspect came when the cat attempted to get the marble through the cardboard roll, more often than not knocking both items to the opposite side of the arena.

So he had decided to try and stabilize the object, and sat, elbows on the table, head propped up in one hand as his other gave groupings of two short flicks at the toilet paper roll, a mutter of 'Immobulus' coming with each pair of flicks. Occasionally the spell would work and would hold the roll steady, if not only for Merlin to bat the marble around the cardboard. Occasionally he would hit the marble instead, which brought forth greater amusement when Merlin moved about the 'arena' attempting to bat it this way and that, unable to figure out why it wouldn't move.

Two flicks. 'Immobulus'.

Two flicks. 'Immobulus'.

Two flicks. 'Immobulus'.

By the time an hour had passed, he was alternating between charming the roll from moving and charming the ball from moving. It was only when Merlin picked himself up from the books and promptly moved to curl up on his lap, did he holster his wand and end the game. Such hard work, being a cat. So he let Merlin rest for a bit while he practiced the charm a little while longer. Once he could cast without a cast failing, he cleaned up the books, gathered Merlin in his arms and headed back up to the dormitory for a cat nap himself.

Selina sat down at the table still feeling woozy from her vision in Divination today. It seemed that every time she was in that class she had some kind of Seer-like revelation or issue. Things could never just stay simple for Selina in that class. When she pulled out her book to start to study she could smell the faintest whiff of cherry blossom in the distance. Kurumi.

She had almost forgotten that she owed the girl an explanation from Divination. Poor Kurumi had seemed so worried about Selina's state. She knew she had to appease her friend, but her vision was less than... calming.

Kurumi made her way to the study tables carrying a tea pot and two cups from the tea set her mother had given her for her tenth birthday. Being careful not to spill any of its content, Kurumi set it down on the table and took a seat next to her. She also set a small tray of green tea cookies that she had made, with extra sugar for Selina's liking, next to the tea pot.

"Here you go," she said in a steady tone as she poured them both some tea.

She looked at Selina and a small smile crept across her lips. It looked like the color had returned to her cheeks and she did not look like she had just swallowed a whole bunch of slimy slugs.

Selina smiled at Kurumi's tray of cookies, they always seemed to make her feel better. Besides Selina had a seriously awful sweet tooth and Kurumi knew that hence the powdered sugar on the cookies. Kurumi then filled the tea adding extra sugar to hers. Sugar.... yum.

"Thanks, Kurumi." Relaxing in the tea Selina then was ready to give Kurumi some answers. "Okay, go on and ask away. I know its killing you."

Kurumi sipped her tea calmly for a few moments trying to put on a face that said 'I am really not all that concerned about this mystery girl,' but both her and Selina knew that was a load of rubbish.

"What all did you see?" Kurumi asked leaning in and watching Selina with unblinking eyes. "Who was she? What did she look like? Do you think she was related to Adam?" She probably rattled off about 15 different questions before she stopped to take a breath.

"S-S-S-Sorry...it's just...I have been doing a lot of thinking about what to do...you know, once Adam leaves..."

Selina could not help but laugh at how anxious Kurumi was. Her outburst of questions were so in character Selina did not even need to see the future to see it coming. She could yell in all of the raddling that she was concerned.

"It was just a small conversation. Nothing major. All I got from it was an introduction between an older me and her.

"Her name is CeCe for one. And I don't think Adam is Hispanic so I'm going to rule out that are related. I don't know of any Hispanic gingers." Selina laughed.

The next answer was not a pleasant subject, "She was really pretty Kurumi. I mean, really pretty. But, uh, that doesn't mean that anything is going on. She said that they were friends." But in her vision... it didn't seem so simple. The girl was a mystery.

Kurumi swallowed hard and felt her palms sweating so much that she nearly dropped her tea cup on the table - which would have been a disaster since her and Selina's textbooks would been ruined. At least they would smell like cherry blossoms for several weeks though.

"She is from Mexico," Kurumi said suddenly staring at the fire glowing brightly in the fireplace. That much seemed obvious to her from Selina's description.

Kurumi knew that she wasn't all that special to look at. She never wore any make-up despite other second year girls beginning to show interest. Her hair was almost always up in a side pony-tail. The only really unique feature she had were her violet eyes, but even those had felt like a curse while growing up.

"Yeah, they meet in Mexico. But like I said before that doesn't guarantee anything. You are jumping to conclusions Kurumi, I can see it in your eyes. Don't do that. He cares about you and you him. Why do you need to complicate it with a girl he hasn't even met yet." Selina hoped she was getting through to her, but affairs of the heart complicated logic.

"Look, just because she is pretty doesn't mean you aren't. You are very pretty and another girl will never change that. Have some confidence Kurumi. Have some confidence in yourself, have confidence in Adam."

Kurumi nodded. Having confidence in Adam was easy. It was the having confidence in herself that was an entirely different story. She knew that she was jumping to conclusions and being just a bit unreasonable. She understood that if she panicked over this, she would bring about the very future that she was fearing.

"Thanks, Selina," she said after a few minutes. "I'm still...well...new to all this. The concept of a friend, let alone a boyfriend, was something completely foreign to me until last year."

Selina listened to Kurumi and silently responded, "I understand." She had never admitted that to anyone. Selina had this confident air about her that people always took as her Gryffindor shinning out, but truth be told she was a tad insecure. Growing up in an empty house always left Selina wondering if she had done something wrong or if she was not good enough. With her parents on the job day and night the complex got worse. So her defense mechanism was to keep herself defensive and, well, the Selina that everyone saw. When you were too busy looking out for yourself the walls just build up.

Maybe that was why Selina and Kurumi got along so well. They understood each other. They came from different places, with different experiences, but they were very much the same. Both afraid of getting hurt.

"But you need to understand you have friends now. They are here for you and so am I."

"Thank you, Selina," Kurumi whimpered as she brushed away a few stray strands of hair. Kurumi had never really gotten into her past with anyone other than Adam, but it was very comforting to know that she could do that now with Selina as well. "You know, sometimes I forget that you are a first year."

Kurumi picked up her cup and took a few more sips before popping one of her cookies into her mouth. "Do you think we will ever have a quiet year ay school?" she claughed already knowing that quiet and Hogwarts would never mix.

Selina laughed lightly at Kurumi's question, "No." Everything was going to change now, what with Adam leaving and Selina finally accepting her abilities. Next year was going to be a whirl wind for sure and Selina knew it. From what she had seen it was a crazy year and a confusing time in the young people's lives, but that was Hogwarts and she wouldn't want it any other way.

"But why would you want it to be? I mean a quiet Hogwarts is like a thundering day in Quidditch. No fun, but still has the bare bones of what it is. Sorry about the Quidditch analogy, it's ingrained in me."

"You are going to have to teach me about Quiddich," Kurumi laughed as the tenseness of the air was lifted, at least for the moment. "I still don't understand why you throw a ball named after a breakfast food around while riding a broom."

"Oh...." Kurumi said turning beat red and hunching her shoulders a bit. You could hardly blame her really. The two words did sound very similar, especially to someone who grew up knowing nothing about the sport but loads about making waffles.

Her frowned was turned upside down by what Selina said next. "Really? I'd like that," she nodded. Not only could she spend more time with her friend and, perhaps, learn something about Quidditch, but it would be a few more days that she could keep her wand. "I am utter rubbish on a broom though...you sure you won't get sick of me?"

"I'm positive. Actually... can I be honest with you? My house is kind of quiet what with both of my parents working. All summer long my Dad is in training and it's like sleep away camp so I barely see him. Mom's not much better. Because of her importance in the Ministry I never see her. She's what you would call a work-a-holic. Not that I mind, she loves what she does. But in the summers when I don't have school I get really lonely. So come over whenever you get bored. Really you can just floo right into my living room."

Selina had never really expressed that before to anyone. Sure people had gotten tidbits about her family life, but it seemed whenever she mentioned Jake Skylar no one wanted to listen anymore. Her Dad was famous, Selina took the back seat.

Trying to lighten to mood Selina said, "And trust me, by the end of this summer your flying will be so good you could play Quidditch. I don't give up when it comes to flying... ever."

A frown appeared on Kurumi's face...until Selina mentioned Floo. Kurumi's first experience using that system hadn't exactly been the most pleasant. On top of it, there was no way she could use the method given her living circumstances at home.

"I will come visit," she nodded. "I just think I will be using more...traditional forms of transportation."

"What? You don't like floo?" It was by far the easiest form of transportation. That was her favorite means of travel besides flying. Then again flying was in a league of its own.

"Well...there is no floo at my home...in fact, everything magical is removed," she signed. Her mother taking away her wand was not something that she really wanted to think about right now. "I have only ever traveled the non-magical way...even now." No wonder she was such a rubbish flyer.
