That's my real watch! Post One. Quote:
Arriving at the study desks the Prefect saw that he was not the only one with idea, spotting Kurumi and Anna completing the exact assignment he was planning on finishing himself the boy slide into a chair and smiled at them, "Hey Guys! Mind if I join you?" Pulling the watch he had taken from the lesson, out of his bag, Patroclus took out his wand and completed the wand movement, two circles and a jab, "Comletia" Gross. There sitting where the watch had been was now some disgusting looking compass-monster. "Eww." he laughed, "now that is why Professor Magnus told us to concentrate." Concentration was the key, and Patroclus hadn't really tired all that hard. That just would not do! |

Then Kurumi's eyes fell on the supercoolawesome watch that he was going to transfigure. She sure hoped he didn't melt it, which is what would have happened had she tried. Thankfully, it didn't melt. Unfortunately, it came out looking like a piece of junk from the scrap yard. Kurumi found herself pinching her nose out of pure reflex before hiding her hands in her lap. "It's not....that bad," Kurumi said trying to figure out how to turn junk yard compass into some sort of compliment. "My first compass was more rusty than yours." |

"Kurumi....it was hideous!" He laughed, 'not....that bad' that little kidder! "I just have to focus, that was after all the point of the assignment!" Rolling his wand between his hands, Patroclus began to picture the aspects of a compass, the needle, the cardinal points. He picture his watch, and then he pictured the compass. "Comletia!" The boy completed the clockwise, then anticlockwise circles and ended with a jab. This time there was an improvement. But not much. The compass was cleaner, which was nice, but it still resembled a watch, with it's strap and black dial. "Hmmm...." He murmed to Kurumi, "It's getting there! Reverto" Take Three! |
Quote:
Kurumi watched as he reverted his compass back into his watch. She probably should have done that instead of, you know, using five different erasers so that her study desk was now covered with all her attempts. That would have been the smart and effective way to do this assignment. Oh well. Birthday gifts to friends? |

Patroclus was a perfectionist. He would try and try again till it was perfect "OK this one will be better!" Shutting his eyes, the Prefect began to recall the compasses he had just transfigured, and in his minds eye he began to make edits to them mentally, removing the strap, altering the colour from being just basic black like the watch. With the image in mind, he opend his eyes drew the took circles in the air, pointed to the watch and declared, "Comletia!" Where the black and white watch had been, now sat a slightly more complex compass. It was colourful, which was nice, and it also had lost the strap, plus clear plastic. "This one's cool!" he commented |
Quote:
Kurumi picked up the Prefect's newest compass. "It reminds me of one I used to play with as a child," she smiled. Plastic, always a safe thing when it came to a 4-year-old who wanted to play explorer. "Too bad you lost the strap though. That was kind of a neat feature." |

Kurumi was right, the compass was a rather youthful design, and he was going for sophistication, "Yeah the strap was cool," The prefect grinned as his little friend, "However it makes it look too much like a watch, and I want to get it as far removed from a watch as possible." Starring at the watch, Patroclus began to mentally take it apart and re-assemble it as a compass. He straightened out the watch hands, making them larger and only one of them, the saw the numbers turn to letters, and he saw the strap disappear again Happy with this vision fixed into mind, the boy added the clockwise and anticounter clockwise wand movements and clearly spoke, "Comletia!" With a small pop, the watch instantly turned from plastic to metal, and it's face went from white to black, and there sat the best compass so far. So far.......Patroclus knew he could do better. |

Kurumi jumped back a bit when there was a soft pop as his watch turned into a compass. Well, at least she wasn't the only one who made popping noises - although, hers were a bit too loud. Leaning over, Kurumi examined his compass and nodded. "Very nice." She then held up her final compass she had made - the one with the suction cup bottom and cat with an open mouth and inside that mouth is where the compass was - and began to play with the compass portion of it. It was interesting how the compass was a ball shape and seemed to be floating in water. |

"That is the coolest thing ever!" The older lion exclaimed, and it seriously was; the copmass was the head of a tiger with a compass inside it's mouth, "Seems like he was a little hungry." Starring at his own compass, Patroclus had to admit, he was still not happy. It was metallic yes, but it was rather dull, and Patroclus wasn't dull, so neither should he compass be. Golden Compass Golden Compass Golden Compass Golden Compass The wizard repeated to himself as he pictured his watch, deconstructing it again, "Reverto!" What was black would be Gold, the strap would be gone, and he would be happy. "Comletia" He declared once more, after completing the wand movement, however it seemed to not have worked. Before him sat a disk, golden, but not a compass. "Well that was a dud," he remarked, however as he lifted it into his hand he left the top of the disk move slightly. Venturing a guess he pulled at the top, and beneath the lid was a perfect golden compass, just what he had seen in his minds eye. "Now that's more like it!" he grinned, before adding "Thank you for your moral support Kurumi!" |
SPOILER!!: Perfect Prefect "Thanks," Kurumi blushed as she squished the kitty-compass on the table so that it was stuck there. Go figure, their desks were facing South-east. Kurumi was a little to focussed on poking her compass to notice that Patroclus had managed to make a shiny gold disk. Ohhhhh....shiny...v(*´>ω<`*)v Looking at his finished work, Kurumi was once again reminded of a book she had read that contained a golden compass in it. Only, it had a whole bunch of intricate pictures on the inside and didn't really point North. "Y-You're welcome," she smiled. "Thank you for demonstrating how now to melt a watch." Because, she probably would have melted it. |

Lifting the compass into his hand, the Prefect watched as the needle remained still, even though he was moving the compass, in all directions and continuing to spin it. "Well it seems to be working," quickly gazing at Kurumi's he saw that they were both pointing the same way, "Well ours are pointing the same way, so we must be right!" |
Post 5 Emily reached the common room still holding the copass she had made. She didn't really want to get rid of it. She had finally made it white! But she knew she could do better. She looked around for Nika. Where was that girl? Fine! She'd just sit here and be lonely and hungry. She took a seat at a study table, and turned her compass back into a watch. 'Right. You can do this. Just concentrate' she told herself. She started for a while at the watch, thinking. It needed to be... complex? Mabye it could have fireworks? Nah, that would be too complex. And dangerous. She closed her eyes. "Comletia!" She opened her eyes and frowned. It was a watch! All she'd done was change it from a pocket watch to a wrist watch. That coudn't be right. She picked it up and examined it. It was bulky for a watch. She set it to the correct time still frowning. What had she done wrong? Emily turned in her seat and dropped her watch. Oops! Was that bad luck? She reached down and noticed the face of the watch was open. 'What on earth?' It was a compass! A watch and a compass in one! Cool! She put the watch on, now smiling. It was nice. Guess, she could do magic after all. Was she allowed to keep it? Well she would until next lesson anyway. Now, where was Nika? |

Cass enters the common room with several books and some parchment, finding an open space in a corner at a table he sets the books down and unrolls the parchment sitting down taken out some ink and a quill he begins to write looking at the history of magic book with a couple other books. Cass just quietly works on his assignments, not interrupting the others in the groups as they talk or do their own homework. |
It was study time. Epic study time! Legend had to concentrate and stay on task. Since this year wasn't as hectic as fifth he had gotten lazy, and began to procrastinate again. "It has to stop." The sixth year said opening his History of Magic textbook. His eyes ran over the text and a determined look rested on his face. In just a few minutes though his eyes ran over the room and to the window and all over. Studying was boring. |

Curls bouncing around her, McKensie stopped her skipping and put a finger to her cheek. While she was above average in charms, the same could not be said for Transfiguration. Not that McKensie particularly cared, but there was a possibility that mummy was not pleased with the lack of attention she paid the subject. As a result, Greer sighed rather dramatically and plopped on the seat next to Legend Chosen's. Wide-eyed, she gave him a side-ways look. Then SIGHED again, and rested her chin on the table. And SIGHED again. |
Legend was enjoying himself. Looking around the room, watching the other students laugh, and study, and finish up that one last bit of homework that was probably due first thing tomorrow morning. He was even enjoying the small blue bird perched outside of the window that chirped happily in the cool wind. Yup. It was not hard to enjoy yourself when you were procrastinating. His green eyes landed back on the History textbook. History of Magic was a waste of time. It was boring and tedious and the sixth year saw no real point to it. Being brought out of his thoughts by a loud sigh, Legend looked up finally noticing his favorite second year. Who...strangely enough continued to sigh. Again. And again. Oh...and there was a louder one"Is...something wrong Greer? |

Janie would of course give her some kind of Ravenclaw lecture as reply that would most likely involve hormones and how they were affecting her, which was probably true, but Greer wasn't interested on hearing any of that. Legend had pretty eyes and that was that. "Nope," McKensie answered rather theatrically, now resting her left cheek on the table. She sighed once more. "Why are you smiling so much? Is your homework that amusing? Or are you silently mocking everyone else?" |
Quote:
Legend eyed the second year as she asked him the most random question. Was it illegal to smile? NOPE. So he didn't see what was so wrong with it. Maybe she was just in one of those little girl tantrum moods when they hated when everyone around them was happy. "Actually, I find not doing my homework that amusing. At least for now. You know until I get into class and have to deal with, Welton." Stupid, History of Magic. No one liked you! "Plus I don't silently mock people!....I only judge them a bit in my head." He grinned obviously joking. "So what's up with you, why are you in such a sighing mood young one." Little apprentice Greer who HE was the boss of. |
